Bishop TD Jakes addressed the topic of domestic violence during his latest sermon on Sunday after CNN published footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie at a hotel in 2016. While he didn’t mention Diddy’s video by name, he alluded to images that have been “floating over the news all week.”
The topic began with Jakes recalling a woman reaching out to him for prayers. “Then, a woman said to me, ‘Would you please pray for women who are living in danger in their own house?’” he explained. “And there was something about the way she said it… it was a cry for help.” He added of the footage: “The atrocious, degrading, demeaning, debauchery — I know who it was, but I saw my daughters. As a man, I saw my daughters, and it made me angry… and I thought if it affected me like that as a man, how much more is that image a trigger for women who have been through that, who are currently going through that… and feel trapped in situations where you are being physically and emotionally and verbally abused?”

Diddy previously thanked the pastor for “holding [him] down in the dark times” in a speech at the BET Awards in 2022. He mentioned the “darkest times” of his life again in an apology for the incident in a video posted to social media on Sunday. He explained that he’s been seeking professional help through therapy in rehab in the years since the attack. Despite the clip, Diddy won’t be facing criminal charges related to the incident.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams says his team is looking into how they can go about revoking Diddy’s key to the city after CNN published footage of him attacking Cassie back in 2016. Adams discussed the steps he’s taking during an interview on 1010 WINS on Monday.
“Well, listen, the action was unacceptable and all of us who looked at the video, we were probably sick to our stomach,” Adams said during the show. “Our team is doing an analysis. We never have taken a key back from anyone but the team is doing an analysis of what the next steps are.” Adams presented Diddy with the honor back in September, just two months before Cassie filed her initial lawsuit against the Bad Boy mogul.

Diddy has since released a video apologizing for the incident, which he said occurred during one of the “darkest times” of his life. He added: “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab, I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.” He won’t be facing criminal charges regarding the situation as the statute of limitations has passed.

Shyne has spoken out against Diddy after CNN published footage of the Bad Boy mogul assaulting his ex-partner, Cassie, at a hotel in 2016. In a post on Instagram, Shyne described Diddy’s pattern of behavior as “diabolical” and offered prayers for Cassie and any other alleged victims. Diddy has since apologized for his actions in the disturbing video.
“I vehemently denounce the repugnant behavior of Sean Diddy Combs captured on the video in which he is seen physically assaulting Mrs Cassie Ventura-Fine,” Shyne wrote. “There is no place for Violence against Women anywhere on the planet. As a father of a precious daughter, a global citizen and the next Prime Minister of Belize I want absolutely nothing to do with people who engage in this pattern of diabolical behavior. My prayers are with Cassie and all the other victims who have come forward with horrendous allegations against Mr Combs.”

Candace Owens says she’s not willing to forgive Diddy until he reveals who “is operating the ring in Hollywood” and called on him to “name names” in a post on Twitter, on Sunday. She provided the only circumstance in which she’d be down to “sweep a lot under the rug” while sharing the apology video Diddy made in regard to CNN publishing footage of him appearing to assault Cassie at a hotel in 2016. Owens’ post made several more allegations about the Bad Boy mogul.
“Great to hear you’re sorry, Diddy,” she began. “Now do Biggie, plus the guy you allegedly shot in that bathroom, plus Kid Cudi’s car you allegedly blew up: And whoever you were allegedly shooting at in the nightclub with J-Lo. For starters.” In a follow-up, she added: “I’d be willing to sweep a lot under the rug if you did the first courageous thing in your life and named exactly who is operating the ring in Hollywood. Name names.”

Diddy’s former bodyguard, Roger Bonds, has reacted to the apology video he released on social media, on Sunday. Diddy posted the clip to address the footage CNN published that appears to show him assaulting Cassie at a hotel back in 2016. Bonds says he’s not moved by the apology, in which Diddy remarks that he was at “rock bottom.”

Several hours ago, rapper and music mogul Diddy issued a formal apology to Cassie for his irreversible actions. The latter was an alleged brutal assault with the 2016 footage being obtained by CNN on Friday, May 17. It quickly went viral, as it displayed some truly disturbing imagery. Her and Diddy were staying at hotel and when the singer tried to leave, he eventually caught up to her. He kicked Cassie, struck her in the head, snatched her possessions, and even threw an item while she was still down. Fans have shown obvious support for Diddy’s ex and disgust toward him. Of course, one of those people to comment was 50 Cent.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office responded to the video moments later with some bad news. Because of the time of the assault and the new statute of limitations being passed, they cannot do anything about it. This prompted 50 to throw a theory out there. “This is why they put that tape out, they know they can’t charge him with what we saw, but they know we can’t unsee what we saw.” 50 follows Diddy’s every move and when he watched the apology, he was quick to respond again.
Essentially, he does not understand why Diddy is trying to speak out at all. DJ Akademiks reshared Fif’s IG commentary: “This is not going to work, who is advising him right now? Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, weighed in on the legal implications of the new video of Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie at a hotel in Los Angeles from 2016. He theorized that CNN, which published the footage, didn’t “obtain” it and instead it was leaked. In turn, Cohen thinks there’s bigger legal trouble headed the Bad Boy mogul’s way.
“Anyone who thinks CNN ‘obtained’ the video is a sucker,” Cohen wrote on Instagram. “This was a leak, and to me, it telegraphs the fact he’s about to be charged in a bigger case. This way, if Cassie is the star witness, they can rely on the fact she was essentially under his control. By the way, that is why this case should have been settled way before the lawsuit was filed.” In a comment on the post, he added: “One other observation is there is a reason he hasn’t left the country or flew anywhere the past month. My belief is they would arrest in a criminal complaint if he flew anywhere.”

Cohen isn’t the only one with theories as to the reasoning behind the release of the video. 50 Cent made a similar remark while sharing the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office’s statement on the video on Instagram. The department revealed that, due to the statute of limitations on assault, Diddy won’t be facing any charges regarding the incident.

The footage, which aligns with allegations Ventura made in a federal lawsuit that was settled last November, reveals a series of abusive actions by Combs at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. The video, dated March 5, 2016, and verified by CNN, shows Ventura leaving a hotel room and walking toward the elevators. Combs, dressed in a towel, is seen running after her down the hallway. He grabs her by the back of the neck and throws her to the floor. Despite holding his towel with one hand, he kicks Ventura as she lies on the ground. Combs then picks up a purse and suitcase from the floor near the elevators, turns around, and kicks Ventura again.
After this, he briefly drags her by her sweatshirt before walking away. Ventura is seen slowly getting up, gathering her belongings, and picking up a phone on the hallway wall. Combs returns, appears to shove her, and then sits down, forcefully throwing an object at her. He walks away again but turns back as an elevator door opens and someone steps out. Ventura, who reached an undisclosed settlement with Combs, has declined to comment on the newly released footage. Her attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, stated that the video further confirms the disturbing and predatory behavior of Combs and praised Ventura for her courage in bringing these actions to light. Combs and Ventura, a model and singer known for her hit song “Me & U,” had an on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018. They were photographed together at the Los Angeles premiere of A Perfect Match on March 7, 2016. Ventura’s complaint alleges that the altercation captured in the footage took place around March 2016. The complaint detailed that Combs became “extremely intoxicated” and punched her, giving her a black eye.
After Combs fell asleep, Ventura tried to leave the hotel room but was followed by Combs into the hallway. He continued his assault by grabbing her and throwing glass vases, causing them to shatter around her as she ran to the elevator. Ventura then took a cab to her apartment but returned to the hotel, fearing Combs’ reaction. Hotel security, reportedly having seen footage of Combs’ violent behavior, advised her to leave.
The complaint further alleges Combs paid the InterContinental Century City $50,000 for the hallway security footage. This incident was part of a series of allegations Ventura made in her lawsuit, including claims of rape in 2018 and years of repeated abuse. Ventura, who was signed to Combs’ label, stated that he exerted significant control over her both professionally and personally.
Since the lawsuit’s settlement, Combs has faced additional civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and other illegal activities. Despite his denials, these cases remain active. In April, federal authorities searched Combs’ homes in California and Florida as part of an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security into human trafficking, stemming from the same sexual assault allegations.

For one, Diddy is seen striking Cassie in the head in front of the hotel elevator, kicking her twice, taking her possessions back to the hotel room, and then returning to Cassie in the hallway to shove her and launch an item at her, which seems to be a vase. While his representatives have not yet commented on this video, and join him in the staunch denial of any and all allegations, Cassie’s lawyer Douglas Wigdor issued a statement via email. “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

Furthermore, this alleged video seems to be a partial recording of a March 2016 incident that Cassie referred to in her lawsuit against Diddy. In the filing, she claims that it took place at the InterContinental Hotel in Center City, Los Angeles, and that he gave her a black eye while he was intoxicated. CNN was reportedly able to confirm that this alleged clip shows the same interior design as publicly available pictures of the former hotel. While the Bad Boy mogul allegedly returned Cassie’s items to the hotel room while wearing a bath towel and socks, she made a call on a hotel phone, which is when he threw what seems like a vase at her.

On this date in 2023, Brooklyn drill rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow are of over 32 alleged gang members arrested in a 140-count indictment in New York.
According to the New York Daily News, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow treated fellow gang members to a splurging dinner at a Manhattan steak house in celebration of a 2020 shooting executred at Prospect Lefferts Gardens that killed 23-year-old Theodore Senior and injured five mores.
In addition, one of the members was awarded with a new custom gold chain referencing the street the dead man was from. According to NYPD Deputy Chief Jason Savino, the members wore matching outfits during their visit to the steakhouse.
24-year-old Sheff G, born Michael Williams, and 23-year-old, Sleepy Hollow, born Tegan Chambers, and 30 additional gang members were connected to 27 occasions of violence, which included at minium a dozen shootings. The arrested men and women are alleged members of 8 Trey Crips and 9 Way gangs.
“Sheff G is not a wannabe drill rapper. He is a legitimate person who made it good. He has gold records, he’s made a lot of money. He rented a very large house, some may call it a mansion, in Short Hills, N.J.,” Gonzalez said.
He added, “He [Sheff G] used his fame and fortune to elevate gang violence in Brooklyn.”
The investigation began after the Gardens shooting, sparked by social media disses between G and a Folk Nation gang-affiliated rapper. The shooting was executed in partnership of 8 Trey and 9 way. Authorities revealed a text message from Sheff G’s sister Williams’ stated members of the rival gangs needed “to get hit or killed.” Sheff G asked for receipts to show the executed shooting, receiving images fo the victim and news articles.
Sheff G served 15 months behind bars on these charges before the 25-year-old Brooklynite was released from the Otis Bantum Correctional Center in the Bronx on April 19. Sleepy Hallow was released the day before Valentine’s Day of 2023 after serving only eight months behind bars.
