Plies is quite the social media personality, crossing over into many pop culture areas with some hilarious takes and perspectives. For example, his intense fandom of Britney Spears’ dancing videos seemed to get even more passionate when news broke of her divorce. However, the rapper is also perfectly prone to dropping wild statements of his own with no need to tie it into some larger phenomenon. Often, it makes for pretty confusing and comical content, albeit one that’s bound to ruffle some feathers here and there because of just how unfiltered it is. For example, recently the Florida native took to Twitter to share his thoughts on women’s… intimate desires these days, comparing their 20s to their 40s to questionable results.

Seems like a misguided and kind of nasty take, but maybe Plies is speaking from personal experience here. Regardless, it still prompted plenty of people to debate this in the replies and in comments sections of coverage of the post. Nas Shares Sage Advice For Young Artists Dealing With Conflict

Nas discussed how young rappers handle conflict with other artists in hip-hop during a recent interview with Billboard. While discussing the dilemma, he shared some sage advice for up-and-comers in the industry.

“The streets are the streets. We listen to music from people directly from those circumstances,” he said. “Young people making the hit records are telling you what’s happening: education, disease, miseducation. Life is a tough test.”

He continued: “As they get successful, they have to come into their senses on their own. When you look at hip-hop’s history, you see all the companies and empires that fell because of stupidity. If they see that, they have to realize they are the next one if they don’t change. […] It’s their decision and their maturity level, and when they are going to figure it out because time is ticking — the next thing you know, you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. I just pray for them and hope for the best because talking to them is one thing, but they have to be ready for it. Sometimes they have to learn on their own.”

Nas also discussed how he’s continued to put out new music well into his 40s. In doing so, he shared advice for rappers of his generation as well. “I want more people to join me from my era; release your records and work hard on them shits,” he said. “I want to hear how people feel, and I want to hear their art, I don’t want to hear the trends, I want to hear the art. Express it, do it and be free. That’s what I’m trying to give to the game now.”

The comments come after the release of Nas’ latest album, Magic 2, on which he collaborated for a fifth consecutive time with producer Hit-Boy. The album additionally contains guest appearances from 50 Cent, who is also well into his 40s.

The awkward interaction has social media users praising him for his straightforward tip.

Drake, on the other hand, was recently spotted shooting hoops with one of the owners of the luxury brand Chrome Hearts. He and Laurie Lynn Stark go head to head in a friendly competition as shown in a new clip. Drake has previously collaborated with the brand to promote his 2021 album, Certified Lover Boy.

Drake is currently on his “It’s All A Blur” tour alongside 21 Savage. Recently, he shared some new details of what the two of them have in the works. He’s been teasing his new For All The Dogs LP for some time now, but fans have heard little of 21 Savage’s latest venture. Drake told his crowd at a recent show that “Both albums [are] on the way.” The artist’s claim has fans eagerly-awaiting the two projects, and anticipating more information.

At one of Drake’s other recent tour stops, a fan threw a bra at him during the performance, prompting him to inspect the garment. The well-endowed fan, later confirmed to be Veronica Correia, was then discovered by internet sleuths. The 21-year-old recently told TMZ that she was confident her gesture would get the artist’s attention. “I just knew he was gonna pick it up if I threw it right at his feet. Missy Elliott came to the defense of the duo, Flyana Boss, on Twitter, earlier this week. When fans called into question the repeated use of a similar format for their music videos, Missy explained that consistency is part of the marketing strategy for many young artists.

“This old school tactic if you do a bunch of things you confuse the audience,” Missy replied to a viral tweet questioning the repetition. “They don’t know who you are. That’s why most successful artist have eras and for that era they consistently do the same style and sound so you build a particular fan base.”

In an interview on The Pivot podcast, Bobby dispensed some wisdom he’s learned with age. He advised fans on how to walk away from harmful situations and not be hurt by what people say. Instead, he says he now knows better than to take the bait and can choose to just move on with his life.

Fans in the comments were quick to praise Bobby Shmurda for his maturity. “This is growth. Maturity comes with time, errors, pain, reflection, and detachment. The lessons become wisdom,” one comment reads. “The mentality of a grown man that knows his worth, I hope he teaches the youth that looks up to him,” another says. Bobby Shmurda also reacted to Gunna’s first public appearance since his plea deal. He showed up at an NBA playoff game between the Celtics and Heat last month. Wade made nearly $200 million from his NBA contracts alone, including $2.6 million in his rookie year. As players get better and better, and the NBA gets more and more lucrative, young players are having million of dollars thrust upon them. This can be overwhelming and lead to regrettable choices. However, Wade was on had in a recent interview to provide some advice about how rookies should handle their money.

Dwyane Wade Gives Financial Advice To NBA Rookies

Approached by TMZ ahead of the draft, Wade dished out his top advice for anyone hoping to get drafted. “Take in the moment, it goes fast. You only get one draft,” Wade began. When the TMZ interviewer asked what financial advice he had, Wade merely replied that he wasn’t a financial advisor. However, he did also provide a little more advice when pressed. “Try to get you somebody in your life that really knows finances,” Wade said. “Somebody who, hopefully, you can build a relationship with. Hopefully, you can build a trust with eventually.”

The 2023 NBA Draft begins at 8pm ET on June 22. The San Antonio Spurs are expected to take generational talent Victor Wembanyama first overall. Despite rumors that they might trade back, at the time of writing, it seems as if the Hornets and Blazers will also take places at the two and three spots. Some draft picks have traded hands in recent days, however. The Boston Celtics will pick at #25 after acquiring the pick from Memphis. Georgia-born rhymer Lil Yachty was just 18 years old when he blew up thanks to SoundCloud in 2016. In the years since, he’s delivered projects like Teenage Emotions, Nuthin’ 2 Prove, and most recently, the experimental Let’s Start Here. Lil Boat’s talent has also allowed him to forge close friendships with huge figures such as Drake, who’s never been one to shy away from giving his young pal his flowers. Earlier this month, the pair linked up to do a Stake live stream together via Kick.

While the Canadian kept us laughing with his painted nails and declined credit card, fans were obviously happy to have Yachty in the vicinity too. It remains unclear if the heads at Kick followed through with Drizzy’s idea of signing the “Broccoli” hitmaker to their platform. Nevertheless, Yachty is obviously feeling inspired as he announced via his Instagram Story earlier this week that his first-ever podcast episode will be dropping soon. Rather than using his platform to discuss topics of his own choosing, the 25-year-old is eager to give fans an opportunity to connect with him on the show.

Yung Miami is once again getting attention from fans because of a Tweet. The City Girls rapper is one of the most prolific Tweeters in all of music and regularly gets attention for tweets where she espouses controversial views. Occasionally she can spark wild debates among fans with her takes. A few days ago she did it again with her views on moving in with a partner.

Miami tweeted “I miss my man I just wanna smell his neck Omg.” In response, a fan told Yung Miami that she should just move in with her man. In response to that suggestion she quote tweeted saying “That’s how you ruin a relationship! Don’t do it.” Subsequently, fans debated whether or not she was giving good advice as the tweet racked up over 4000 comments and quote tweets.

Yung Miami Drops Some Wisdom

Yung Miami most recently sparked controversy when a fan suggested she could be using her platform more to address some of the laws being passed in her home state of Florida. Her response read “Pls tell me wtf I’m supposed to do hen I got my own problems? Tf Florida ain’t my kid.” Many fans expressed disappointment in her unwillingness to speak out against recent laws the state passed that many consider anti-LGBTQIA+. Florida is one of many states that have been rescinding rights for its citizens, all across the board.

The rapper has been pretty quiet in terms of musical output so far this year. City Girls released their first single of 2023 just last week with “Act Bad” alongside Diddy and Fabolous. Fat Joe Provides Advice To Aspiring Rappers: “You Gotta Get A Job!”

Fat Joe gave some advice to aspiring rappers during a video posted to social media over the weekend. He says that artists who aren’t signed to a record contract, nor are financially stable yet, should be getting a regular job to supplement their income.

“If your man said he raps and he don’t have a deal. There’s a problem with that,” he told his audience on Instagram Live. “It’s called plan A, get a job. Plan B, hope you make it. This has never changed. Some guys be like, ‘I gotta get a regular job?’ Bro, you gotta get a job! If you got kids and you got this girl that got an apartment and y’all sexin’ it up every day, you got to pay some bills.” From there, he quoted Nas’ hit song, “Life’s A Bitch.” He remarked, “And that dollar and a dream — ‘That buck that bought the bottle could’ve struck the lotto.’ Nah!”

Moreover, Boosie Badazz recently shared via Instagram an important message to the youth about how being a “gangster” isn’t worth it. Of course, the 40-year-old rapper speaks from decades of experience, hardship, and exposure to that lifestyle. As such, his words ring true especially as he himself continues to see the repercussions of that.

“Never become no street n***a,” Boosie told his IG Live viewers. “Don’t ever become no gangster, bro. Always gotta have n***as with you, always gotta be trying to protect yourself, looking over your shoulder. S**t don’t even be worth it, bro. Boosie’s Advice For The Youth

In addition, Boosie is doing his part to be more of a helping hand in his community, albeit through unconventional means. For example, the Baton Rouge MC reportedly began plans to form a whole neighborhood in his backyard for people to thrive in. According to a video floating around social media, the haven will host luxury apartments and its streets will be named after his children. Also, apparently it will boast a huge pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, a movie theater, and much more. While it seems like a tall order and a big promise, hopefully everything pans out for the benefit of those who need it most.

Meanwhile, he also received some great but bittersweet news when he found out he’s officially cancer-free. “CANCER FREE!” he wrote on Instagram. “GOD [is] GREAT, BUT HE [TESTS] YOUR FAITH ALL THE TIME! I was ready to see my cancer doctor/surgeon today, but I was told he passed last year. Thank [you], Dr. Wood, for always making me laugh when I was down.
