Bobbie Jean Carter Was Found Unresponsive In Her Bathroom On Day Of Her Death: New Details Revealed

Bobbie Jean Carter was found unresponsive in her bathroom on the day she died, in a similar fashion to that of her late brother, Aaron Carter. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Florida revealed the details surrounding her passing to Page Six on Wednesday. 

They explained that first responders discovered her on Saturday morning following a call to her house. From there, they took her to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. Medical examiners then pronounced her dead. An exact cause of death remains unconfirmed. Bobbie Jean was arrested for retail theft and drug possession back in June after having fentanyl in her purse. Her roommates, however, say she’s been off drugs completely since landing on probation.

Bobbie Jean’s mom, Jane Carter, announced her passing over the weekend in a statement noted by Page Six. “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time,” Jane said, referring to the deaths of son Aaron and daughter Leslie Carter. “When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement, but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private. However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater.” She concluded by asking for prayers for her “precious 8-year-old granddaughter, Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother.”

Aaron Carter tragically passed away a year ago, and his loved ones did a lot to honor his legacy and name since then. It’s an ongoing process of grief whose wounds heal in time, but for a close partner, friend, family member, or father memory is always preserved and celebrated. Moreover, the singer’s family stopped by his grave site on Sunday (November 5), which marked the exact one-year anniversary of his loss. His ex-fiancée Melanie Martin took their son Prince to his headstone at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, and TMZ reports that Aaron’s twin sister Angel greeted them there.

In addition, the outlet relayed source reports that various of Aaron Carter’s fans and those sympathetic to his passing also went to the grave site. There, they privately or communally paid their respects, whether by simply attending or leaving behind candles, flowers, and the like. For those unaware, he was found dead in his California home, and passed away due to drowning under the influence. It was a shock to his fans and family, and prompted much conversation about his career trajectory and life up until that point.

Back to his family, though, TMZ alleged that Aaron Carter’s son Prince counted all the 20 candles left by fans during this visit. Also, Melanie reportedly stuck around until the cemetery closed in order to spend a private moment at her late ex-fiancée’s grave. Unfortunately, this tragic event caused a rift between her and the artist’s manager, who she claims “overworked” him and led to the stress that he sought to escape. While this is still purely speculative, it’s a dark and sad conflict during a time where many of his close ones feel a lot of pain.

Meanwhile, the family recently installed a new headstone at the grave site. “[We placed] Aaron’s portrait this morning at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills,” Angel wrote. “He adored his fans, and I know how much this would mean to him now having a final resting place where we could all celebrate his life. Back in November, singer and rapper Aaron Carter tragically died. For the weeks to follow, close friends and family shared kind words about the musicians and their latest moments with him. His brother, Nick Carter, even took to Instagram to upload a touching message to Aaron’s fans.

“Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday, want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you, Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you, baby brother,” wrote Nick.

Now, nearly six months late, Variety has obtained a document that revealed the pop star’s cause of death. According to the outlet, “Aaron Carter’s death was caused by drowning and the effects of alprazolam (an ingredient used in cans of compressed air), a generic form of Xanax, and inhaling difluoroethane.”

The entertainer was found unresponsive at home and his death was ruled an accident by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office.

Several months after he was tragically found dead in his bathtub in California, the autopsy results for Aaron Carter have been shared with the public. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s findings show that the 34-year-old had taken Xanax pills and huffed compressed air shortly before drowning on November 5, 2022. The embattled recording artist took alprazolam (a generic brand of the popular drug), and breathed in concentrated amounts of difluoromethane.

It’s been declared that Carter was “incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects” of both substances. Ultimately he’s believed to have slipped under the water and drowned, and his death has been ruled accidental. The report also notes that “multiple cans of Surf Onn compressed air” were found in the bathroom where the father of one passed, as well as in a nearby bedroom. Upon searching his California home, authorities also uncovered several bottles of prescription drugs. Carter’s clothes were found on the floor by the tub, including his beanie, sweatshirt and pants. One of the can’s nozzle tips was eventually located in the front pocket of the sweater.

Melanie Martin, the Florida native’s former fiancée previously told TMZ she believed that drugs killed her co-parent. He didn’t hide his substance abuse problems over the years, occasionally taking drugs while thousands of fans watched during live streams. Carter’s ex also said he had a text exchange on his phone alleging that he owed someone $800. She’s since submitted this to the authorities for further investigation. Upon hearing today’s autopsy results, Martin admitted that she still doesn’t feel satisfied.

“The results of the autopsy are not closure for me. It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on? I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions,” her statement reads. When he first purchased his beautiful Lancaster residence back in 2019, Aaron Carter shared an uplifting message with fans on Twitter. “I finally own my first home in California,” he wrote at the time. “I have a place to call my own. Worked very diligently and consecutively on myself, mind, body, and soul, and kept out of trouble. I get to do what I love every day thanks to everyone who believed in me at this point in my life.” Of course, the former child star has since lost his life. On Tuesday (April 4), TMZ announced that his house is now listed for sale.

The outlet notes that the bathroom where Carter was tragically found dead last year is undergoing renovations. Christine M. Limpus of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is overseeing the listing, which she says measures an astounding 4,131 square feet. The seven-bedroom, four-bathroom property has been priced at just under $850K. This is a significant increase from the $779K price tag that the embattled artist had put on the market just one month before his death.

Money made from the home’s sale will reportedly go to Carter’s estate. Namely, the funds will arrive in a trust for his 1-year-old son, Prince. Limpus says she’s already shown the residence to five prospective buyers since re-listing it. The real estate agent is under the impression “it’ll go into escrow very soon for the asking price.” When the Florida-born entertainer first purchased the place, he spent $430K. Some significant adjustments and improvements came along the way, including a bigger pool and extra bedrooms.

While his family is getting rid of Aaron Carter’s home, that doesn’t mean they’re giving up on the late “I Want Candy” singer. It’s been nearly four months since the tragic death of child prodigy Aaron Carter. The 34-year-old was found dead in his Lancaster, CA home by his housekeeper in early November. It was previously alleged Carter drowned in his bathtub, where he laid for hours until the cleaner made the gruesome discovery. Now, the mother of the former pop star released imagery from the scene in an effort to get another investigation underway.

Jane Carter, mom to Aaron and brother Nick, posted the photos to her Instagram account. “I want to share these death scene photos with you all because the coroner wrote it off as an accidental drug overdose,” she writes. TMZ has since shared the pictures, but be forewarned as they are extremely graphic. In one, the tub Aaron died is shown filled to the top with a green hue. Another shows the clothes he’d taken off prior, including a Champion hoodie and what appears to be tie-dye pants.

Aaron’s mother continues to allege police in the initial investigation looked over pertinent information. “They allowed people to go in and out[,] although a lot of potential homicide information was there for years. Aaron had a lot of death threats and many many people who were making his life miserable.” TMZ reported on Aaron Carter’s potential cause of death, and according to the L.A. County Coroner’s Office, water was not found in his lungs. This dismisses the idea that he passed from drowning, and instead happened due to a drug overdose. All in all, Aaron’s family stands on the fact that his death wasn’t intentional as they probe investigators.

Fans Are Mad After The Grammys Left Aaron Carter, Modest Mouse’s Jeremiah Green, And Others Out Of Its ‘In Memoriam’ Tribute

The 2023 Grammys were last night (February 5), and watching the broadcast, the event appeared to go off without incident. However, during the “In Memoriam” segment, some fans couldn’t help but notice a few notable musicians were not mentioned during the show.

Some, for instance, wondered why Aaron Carter, who died last November, wasn’t included in the tribute.

Others noted that late rockers like Jeremiah Green of Modest Mouse and Mimi Parker of Low didn’t make the cut either.

Some also noticed that Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins wasn’t mentioned, but since he died shortly before last year’s show, he was honored then.

Hours before the program started, the Recording Academy actually published an In Memoriam post on its website. In the introduction, they explain, “The following is a list of artists and industry professionals the music community lost from Jan. 1, 2022 to Dec. 6, 2022. The 2022 Grammys telecast on CBS featured an In Memoriam segment highlighting some of these individuals via a video tribute, and all of these individuals who died prior to its print date are included in the official 2023 Grammys program book.”

Many of the artists missing from the broadcast are included on this list, but not Green, who died on December 31, 2022, outside of the apparent eligibility window for the list. That also explains the absence of Gangsta Boo, whose death was on January 1, 2023.
