Nicki Minaj To Star In Animated Series “Lady Danger”

Nicki Minaj is stepping into another acting role, this time voicing a character in a new animated series. The iconic rapper has kept very busy recently. Last month, she dropped her new track “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” The song had fans and critics alike singing Nicki’s praises. Then came the news that the rapper had signed four new artists to her label. Shortly after, Nicki appeared at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles alongside Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. The set saw Minaj performing old classics like “Bed Rock” and “Truffle Butter.” In recent weeks, she has liked tweets about signing Ice Spice to her label, leading many to believe that it may be happening. Somehow, even with all of this, Nicki still has time to sign on to a new acting role.

Lady Danger will be an animated series produced by 50 Cent’s production company, G-Unit Film & TV. Nicki will serve as executive producer in addition to voicing the lead role. The series will follow a betrayed government field agent who was left for dead by her team. She is resurrected by Lady Danger, “an afrofuturistic ass-kicking Agent of B.O.O.T.I (Bureau of Organized Terrorism Intervention).” According to Deadline, the series will air on Amazon’s Freevee. Until it airs, Nicki has plenty of other things on her plate, including some highly-publicized beef.

Nicki’s Beef With Megan Thee Stallion

As usual, Nicki has been throwing plenty of shade recently. On her newest single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” many fans noticed some jabs at fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. “700 on them horses when we fixing to leave,” Nicki raps on the song. “But I don’t f*ck with horses since Christopher Reeves.” The line, perceived by many to be the most obvious Megan diss, was not the only one. Nicki also references the Megan Thee Stallion shooting incident, in which Tory Lanez reportedly said “dance, b*tch” before shooting her in the foot. “That 40 cal a make’em dance like a go go,” says Nicki, allegedly dissing Megan once again.

Nicki has had beef with many other people in the industry over the years. What caused it is still a mystery. Some say that it was Meg’s collab with Cardi B, but that has not been confirmed by either party. It seems neither party is too bothered by the situation, though, as neither has publicly addressed it in any obvious way. Either way, Nicki is making sure she continues getting her checks. What do you think of the news about Nicki’s new role? Are you excited to see it? Let us know in the comments.

Tony Yayo Reveals G-Unit’s “Realest” Beef

If there’s any one rapper who mastered the art of beef, it’s 50 Cent. Songs like “How To Rob” helped propel him to infamy. He name-dropped every rapper possible while detailing exactly how he’d stick them up. His marketing strategy evolved over time. Still, the feuds he involved himself in became the furthest thing from a publicity stunt. His issues with Ja Rule and Murder Inc. stem from street politics. But, according to Tony Yayo, that wasn’t necessarily the most dangerous feud G-Unit was involved in.

Pistol Pete of Terror Squad took to the ‘Gram this week where he shared a joyous video of himself alongside Tony Yayo and “Whoopty” rapper CJ. Yayo had nothing but praise for Terror Squad, too. “Yo, the realest beef was with Terror Squad,” Tony Yayo said. “He was a real n***a, I gotta give it up. The realest beef was with Fat Joe and them. We outside.” Pete responded, “Tony Yayo, we fuck with you, though. We out here in the trenches, n***a. We out here, fuck all that.”

G-Unit Vs. Terror Squad

Things have undoubtedly died down between Fat Joe and 50 Cent, who have been good buddies in recent years. But, as Tony Yayo mentioned, that wasn’t always the case. Fif took issue with Terror Squad after Fat Joe worked alongside 50’s arch-nemesis, Ja Rule. At this point, the feud escalated and nearly turned violent backstage at the 2005 VMAs. Even though Fat Joe and 50 Cent continued to trade shots with one another on various records, the “In Da Club” rapper recently admitted that it was one of his biggest regrets.

“If anybody went next to Ja Rule, I’d jump on the person who featured with them, anybody who was faintly near them, ’cause I put him on life support and you wanna go resuscitate him…So that energy, later you look at it and you go, ‘I was buggin,’” he told Rolling Stone. “Fat Joe, his issues, I would see him a little uncomfortable with the success I was having, and I interpreted as, ‘He doesn’t like me,’ when he’s really the kind of guy you want to be friends with because he’s loyal to a default.” Check out Pistol Pete’s video above.

Kevin Durant Shows His Love For 50 Cent

50 Cent is always a controversial topic in pop culture discussions. He is often defined by the success of his early music, the various bizarre twists his career has taken, or his propensity for beef. A multi-faceted individual without a doubt, he is still often pigeonholed by defenders and detractors alike. His last album was released in 2014 and 50 Cent is now more associated with his, often unsuccessful, business dealings.

Kevin Durant often faces the same problems in discussions. A no-doubt Hall of Famer, people often reduce Durant to his time in OKC, off-court headlines, or participation in trade drama. Much like 50 Cent, Durant gets pigeonholed. A player who has never scored less than 25 points per game in the season since he was a rookie, people still find something to hate. Despite that, Durant is also known for often speaking graciously about his former teams. That penchant for praise is not just limited to the court, however.

“One Of The Greatest”

Speaking on his podcast, The etcs. with Kevin Durant, Durant sounded off about his respect for 50 Cent. “The way 50 has transitioned from being an artist to what he’s doing now, a lot of people may forget about that run he went on,” Durant began in reference to 50 Cent’s success in the early 2000s, “A lot of people also think that it’s only Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and his catalog is way deeper than that, with hits.” Durant was absolutely on the money. 50 Cent’s lowest-charting album, Before I Self Destruct, still reached #5 on the US Billboard 200. As with many things, the further we are removed from 50 Cent’s musical career, the less people remember about it.

It’s clear that Durant has nothing but respect for 50 Cent, going on to call him “one of the greatest”. Durant has no time for people who reduce 50 to the likes of Get Rich or Die Tryin‘, his breakout 2003 debut album. And in spite of what 50 may do, or how the public may perceive him, Durant has only respect. “He’s still a monster,” Durant remarked during the podcast episode. The Suns star has made his thought clear and doesn’t have time to hear people disparage 50.

Yesterday, famed street legend and Terror Squad member PistolPete linked up with G-Unit lieutenant Tony Yayo in the streets of NYC, giving props to each other— gangster to gangster.

With the rest of the G-Unit soldiers sporting TS baseball caps, Yayo recounts the 2006 beef with the BX-based crew headed by Fat Joe.

“Yo, the realest beef was with Terror Squad,” Tony Yayo said. “He was a real n-gga, I gotta give it up. The realest beef was with Fat Joe and them. We outside.” Pistol Pete resplied, “Tony Yayo, we fuck with you, though. We out here in the trenches, n-gga. We out here, fuck all that. We out here together, n-gga, a bunch of real n-ggas.”
