21 Savage Takes Fans Across the Pond in "redrum" Video

21 Savage adds another layer to his latest album, american dream, with the release of the music video for the London On Da Track-produced track, “redrum.”

Directed by British filmmaker Danny Seth, the video unfolds in Brixton, Savage’s hometown in London, during his homecoming trip in December—a significant return for the artist who hadn’t been to the UK since he was 12.

The video playfully challenges stereotypical depictions of London, opening with iconic symbols like Big Ben and red telephone booths. However, it swiftly transitions to showcase the authentic London as Brixton youth passionately rally around 21 Savage, emphasizing his undeniable connection to the city. The video captures the rapper’s triumphant return to the UK, marked by local support and a vibrant display of Brixton’s culture.

Exploring the success of 21 Savage’s album, it became intriguing to determine how much they have already earned from their new tracks. By meticulously analyzing the number of streams on popular music platforms like Spotify and YouTube Music, three most popular tracks were selected – “redrum”, “née-nah”, and “n.h.i.e.”, which collectively garnered a significant number of listens. For instance, “redrum” achieved 10,997,555 plays on Spotify and 4.8 million on YouTube Music and “née-nah” – 10 672 030 (Spotify), 1.3mln (YouTube Music). According to calculations by the comparison team from CasinospotFR, only on Spotify, the track “Redrum” generated a revenue of $43,990.22, while on YouTube Music, the same track earned $8,400.00. The total income from these three tracks on both platforms over a few days amounted to $136,355.84. We will continue to observe the further development and popularity of the album.

21 Savage’s ‘american dream’ Set for No. 1 Debut

21 Savage Delivers Third Solo Album 'american dream'

21 Savage is poised for a big debut with his american dream album. According to HITS Daily Double, the opening week number for the album is currently projected between 130,000 and 150,000, which would be the first No. 1 debut of 2024.

It would be the fourth No. 1 album for 21 Savage, following collab albums Her Loss with Drake and Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin, and the solo album I am > I was.

21 Savage has made a powerful return with his latest album, american dream, a 15-track masterpiece that delves into the multifaceted aspects of the rapper’s journey. The album kicks off with a poignant spoken piece by 21 Savage’s mother, Heather Joseph, detailing the sacrifices she made for her son to live ‘his American Dream.’ This personal touch adds a chilling and heartfelt dimension to the project.

The lead track, “All Of Me,” previously teased in the album trailer, showcases 21 Savage reflecting on his ascent to fame, acknowledging the challenges and highlighting his resilience with lines like, “I know Satan down that path, but God walking with me.” The album, boasting a diverse musical palette, sees 21 Savage at his most lyrically complete, effortlessly navigating street anthems with collaborators like Lil Durk, Young Thug, and Travis Scott.

The rapper seamlessly transitions to different styles, from R&B-tinged ballads featuring Summer Walker (“Prove It”) and Brent Faiyaz (“Should’ve Wore a Bonnet”) to brooding tones alongside Mariah the Scientist (“Dark Days”). The album marks a significant evolution in 21 Savage’s songwriting, demonstrating his versatility and comfort in various musical mediums.

The american dream rollout began in December with 21 Savage dropping breadcrumbs throughout Atlanta, unveiling altered American flags created in collaboration with visual artist Hebru Brantley. These flags, adorned with only 21 stars instead of the traditional 50, symbolize the rapper’s history and personal connection to his music. They visually represent what it means to be Black in America.

Hebru Brantley, the creative mind behind the altered flags, expressed, “In creating this piece, I aimed to encapsulate the history of 21 Savage while incorporating elements of my own personal connection to his music. The flag itself is a powerful symbol, with illustrations deeply personal to both Savage and myself, speaking to his music, experiences, and the adversities he has faced.” The album is now available for fans to experience the comprehensive journey that is american dream.

You can hear the new album from 21 Savage below.

21 Savage “american dream” Hits No. 1 On Apple Music, He Asks Fans For Writing Advice

21 Savage’s new album american dream is off to a pretty great commercial start, reaching the No. 1 spot on Apple Music’s album charts. As such, the project is streaming very well, with plenty of tracklist highlights, lyrical gems, and layered instrumentals to dive into. We’ll see whether it keeps this performance up for the remainder of the year, and for the rest of his career in the game. Moreover, it’s still pretty early to call, but there’s a good chance folks will look at this as the ultimate Slaughter Gang album. Regardless of whether it lives up to these expectations over time, he should be very happy and proud right now.

Not only that, but this also contributes to other recent commercial metrics by which american dream is doing great. For example, HITS Daily Double recently reported the first week sales projections for the album, which might become 21 Savage’s biggest solo debut. Furthermore, it’s on pace to sell up to 150K first week; his last solo studio effort, i am > i was, sold 131K first week. If you’re curious, the 31-year-old’s collab albums between that project and this new one– those being 2020’s SAVAGE MODE II with Metro Boomin and 2022’s Her Loss with Drake– sold 171,000 and 404,000 units first-week, respectively.

21 Savage’s New Album Hits No. 1 On Apple Music

However, all this success and pretty good reviews and reactions so far don’t mean that the american dream can’t change. 21 Savage recently took to Instagram to ask fans whether he should change a bar on the Young Thug collab “pop ur s**t” that is a little bit too on-brand with the song’s title. “Im happy yall like it, yall want me to change the poop bar?” he expressed on the social media platform. Another line that’s buzzing online right now is the alleged diss against Gunna on the track “letter to my brudda.”

21 Might Change A Bar Or Two On american dream

Commercial success and potentially new lyrics aside, what did you think of american dream? Would you agree with folks like Kai Cenat that it’s at least an eight out of 10 or did 21 miss the mark a bit? Whatever the case, drop your thoughts in the comments section down below. Drake & Metro Boomin Beef Rumors Continue As The Rapper Seemingly Throws Shade While Promoting 21 Savage’s Latest Album

New year. Same feuds. Following Drake‘s latest online post, fans believe the rapepr is on his worst behavior.

In 2023, after several subtle jabs in music or across social media, his longstanding tensions with Pusha T, Joe Budden, and ASAP Rocky were a constant topic of conversation. Even his rumored feud with Metro Boomin has fans on high alert. On January 12, Drake fanned the flame further with a post on Instagram.

Drake took to his Instagram Stories to promote his friend and Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage’s latest album, American Dream. The screenshot, captioned “talk to them my brother,” showed Drake jamming out to Savage’s song “Just Like Me,” which features Burna Boy and Metro Boomin. Although it would be quite easy to miss, near the bottom of the image where the song’s information is displayed, Drake made a minor edit: Drake blocked out Metro’s name using several shouting emojis.

Fans immediately spotted the petty modification. However, given Metro Boomin’s past online comments, many people have sided with Drake’s decision to update the image. Metro Boomin hasn’t directly responded to Drake’s latest jab. Instead, he’s liked a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) praising the collaboration.

American Dream is out now via Epic Records. Find more information here.

21 Savage “american dream” First-Week Sales Projections Are Here

21 Savage’s american dream landed with a huge splash as arguably the first massive release of 2024 for the hip-hop genre– and music at large, for that matter. Moreover, it marked his solo return following 2018’s i am > i was, a statement which may ring truer today than it ever has before. In between, the Atlanta trap icon also released SAVAGE MODE II with Metro Boomin (2020) and Her Loss with Drake (2022). So, why talk about these previous releases in his catalog if we’re all focused on the 15 tracks he just dropped yesterday? Well, it’s because we have american dream‘s first week sales projections courtesy of HDD (HITS Daily Double).

Furthermore, if this album continues the pace it’s at right now, it could mark 21 Savage’s biggest solo album debut ever. To elaborate, the publication estimated that american dream is on pace to sell 130K to 150K album-equivalent units in its first week. For comparison, his 2018 project sold 131K copies first-week, so it seems like he’s in a comfortable range to commercially best himself. Still, this is solo material; the “née-nah” MC’s collab projects in between his most recent solo full-lengths, SAVAGE MODE II and Her Loss, sold 171K copies and 404K copies, respectively.

21 Savage’s american dream‘s First Week Sales Projections, Plus His Previous Numbers

Regardless, american dream could very well debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts if it keeps up these numbers. But what do these sales matter at the end of the day when people just want 21 Savage to make the best music possible? Given that the album’s been out for less than 24 hours at press time, we’ll leave that debate open for another time. While there’s been plenty of positive reception and acclaim, some haters, and even potential disses on the LP against Gunna, all this conversation is still supplementary to how the record will age and perform throughout the year.

Meanwhile, there’s also the Slaughter Gang boss’ upcoming movie to think about, which will apparently star Donald Glover. Even though it would be amazing to see this biopic, it’s still a bit unclear whether its announcement was just a promo stunt for the album and nothing more. They did share a release date, so perhaps we’ll truly find out what’s up with it on July 4 this year. For more news and the latest updates on 21 Savage, check back in with HNHH.

21 Savage & Kid Cudi Hit Hard On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Now we’re talking; the second week of 2023 held so many amazing albums, singles, and everything in between for hip-hop. As such, we have a stacked and pretty hefty Fire Emoji playlist update rounding up the best of the best this week, so strap in. First up are two massive albums from two beloved creatives in the game right now: Kid Cudi’s INSANO and 21 Savage’s american dream. As for the former, we’d recommend “WOW” with A$AP Rocky and “GET OFF ME” with Travis Scott as particular highlights. In fact, La Flame returns on the standout “née-nah” with Metro Boomin off 21’s aforementioned album, which also includes amazing cuts like “pop ur s**t” with Young Thug and Metro, plus the murderous “redrum.”

Furthermore, let’s switch things up on Fire Emoji and talk about some true lyrical killers, some of which switched things up. For example, Joey Bada$$ teamed up with Lyrical Lemonade, Gus Dapperton, and Lil Yachty for “Fallout.” Not only that, but if you’re looking for some Griselda-related vibes this week, look no further than Benny The Butcher’s new single “BRON.” Along that same vein, Boldy James and Nicholas Craven just dropped an excellent album, Penalty of Leadership, on which “Formal Invite” is a stunning opener.

Meanwhile, Fire Emoji also brings us hot new tracks from rising artists, such as TiaCorine and Luh Tyler’s new cut, “Yung Joc.” In addition, That Mexican OT continues his prolific streak with the single “02.02.99,” furthering his blend of many Southern rap styles. We included Paris Texas and Kenny Mason’s 2023 cut “DnD” on our update to prepare you for their newest collaboration, “Big Bank,” which dropped this week. That also features Billy Lemos and is connected to Pigeons & Planes and Big A** Kids‘ See You Next Year collective.

Rounding our list out, we wanted to shoutout Doja Cat, Kodak Black, Adekunle Gold, and Jeymes Samuel for “JEEZU” off of The Book Of Clarence‘s soundtrack. Lil Tjay also dropped a single this week titled “Told Ya,” and Kevin Gates came through with the song “Birds Calling.” Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji release this week was– and what we missed, too. 21 Savage And Travis Scott Bring Ridiculous Energy To Metro Boomin’s Beat On “Née-nah”

21 Savage has plenty to be proud of right now. That is mainly because he might have just come through with his strongest LP to date, american dream. Originally, it was thought of as a soundtrack to his upcoming biopic American Dream: The 21 Savage Story. For those who are wondering, that will drop on Independence Day. But, this project is his third solo studio album, so it is separate from the motion picture.

The tracklist is great from beginning to end and never fails to entertain you. One of the songs that perhaps brings the most energy is “née-nah.” Produced by 21’s most frequent producer, Metro Boomin, and maybe his best collaborator, Travis Scott, there is so much to like here. The great sample flip of Maclom McLaren’s “About Her” is a perfect compliment to the booming beat.

Listen To “Née-nah” By 21 Savage, Travis Scott, And Metro Boomin

On the performance side, Travis opens things up with a very contagious flow without any auto-tune. His raspy and husky voice adds the right amount of grittiness. 21 cleans up the second half beautifully with his trademark violent lyricism. After hearing another fantastic collaboration from them, this requires a full album from them. “Niagara Falls,” “out for the night, (part 2),” “Ghostface Killers,” the list continues with “née-nah.”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “née-nah” by 21 Savage, Travis Scott, and Metro Boomin? Is this the best track from american dream, why or why not? Where does this rank amongst the rest of the features from the record? Would you say this is 21 and Travis’ strongest collaboration? Who had the better verse and why? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding 21 Savage, Travis Scott, and Metro Boomin.
