JT Once Again Faces Backlash After Newest Nicki Minaj Tweet

For the second weekend in a row, Nicki Minaj found herself grabbing quite a few headlines. This time it had to do with the Grammys which took place in Los Angeles Sunday night. Minaj has racked up 12 nominations in her more than a decade-long career in popular music but has never secured a win. For a moment, that seemed like it might have changed though. During the pre-show livestream that preceded the actual broadcast, they handed out most of the night’s awards. That included many of the specifically rap-oriented Grammys.

On the pre-show stage, they announced that the award went to Killer Mike for his song “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS.” It was part of a sweep of the rap category that led to quite a bit of celebration from the rapper, though it also resulted in his arrest for a reported physical altercation. The only problem, the Grammys Twitter account posted the wrong winner. They shared a post to social media naming Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice’s “Barbie World” as the winner of the award. That mistake has scores of Barbz online claiming the Academy was disrespecting Nicki. That’s when City Girls rapper JT once again took to Twitter to discuss Nicki. Check out her newest tweet below.

JT Stands Up For Nicki Minaj After Grammys Post Mistake

“I salute nicki Minaj for not tapping out & still dropping music knowing it’s so many odds against her! It’s big money to end Nicki but it’s a BIGGER God! Keep being you! Your legacy will never be undone!!!! @NICKIMINAJ I love you” JT’s newest tweet about Nicki reads.

In the comments, fans unsurprisingly criticized JT again. “You don’t even defend yourself this much” and “Here comes the lapdog” two of the top responses read. Taylor Swift was easily one of the biggest stars at the Grammys last night. Overall, it was a big night for her as she was nominated for a plethora of awards. In fact, one award that she was up for was Album of the Year. Her project Midnights was filled with hits and while not everyone is a fan, it certainly made its mark. In the end, the album proved to be a winner as Celine Dion came out and presented Swift with her fourth AOTY award. It was a huge moment, especially considering Dion’s recent struggles.

For those who may not know, the Quebecois legend has stiff-person syndrome. This is a terrible disease that can effect a person’s motor function. There were reports that Dion was having some real trouble with moving around. Consequently, many were surprised to see her at the Grammys. After the show, Swift got to take a picture with Dion and it was all very heartwarming. Unfortunately, it was Swift’s reaction to winning Album of the Year that had the internet coming after her.

Celine Dion Back On Stage

In the clip above, Swift took the Grammy and didn’t really acknowledge Celine’s presence. Nor did she mention the artist in her speech. This subsequently led to all sorts of tweets dissing T-Swift, and some of them can be found below. There was lots of talk about how Swift was “disrespectful” to a legend. However, some of her fans were quick to point out that she was just overwhelmed in the moment. Additionally, the photo she took with Celine afterward just showcases that she does, in fact, acknowledge the legendary singer.

Killer Mike Addresses Grammys Arrest

Killer Mike’s incredible Grammys run this year, resulting in a clean three-for-three sweep in rap categories for album, song, and performance, was undercut almost immediately by a scandalous incident. Authorities arrested him shortly after, reportedly for a misdemeanor involving a scuffle with a security guard, and many expressed outrage online. Not only should the MICHAEL star have celebrated his accomplishments in peace, but this caused discussions around the perception and treatment of Black celebrities no matter their status. Regardless, he recently called into The Big Tigger Show on Monday morning (February 5) to speak of the previous night’s awards ceremony, and he had a minimal comment on the controversy.

“We hit a speed bump, and then we head back to the party,” Killer Mike remarked. Of course, many fans think that he probably has more to say on the matter, but for whatever reason, might save it for another time. Also, there’s the possibility that the Atlanta lyricist plans on taking legal action or pursuing this more formally, so he might want to stay tight-lipped on the situation. Regardless of all that, the most heartening thing is to hear him be so happy, grateful, and proud concerning the Grammy wins and the strength of his craft.

Killer Mike Speaks On “Speed Bump” Arrest After His 2024 Grammys Wins: Listen

“Three Grammys. 20 years in the game. 48 years old,” Killer Mike expressed regarding his big wins. “Beat out everybody in the thing. He beat the best of the best, so all you could say is, he one of the best. The best album in the 50th year of hip-hop came from Atlanta, Georgia, from a man who will be 50 years old in three years.” For those unaware, he previously won a gramophone in 2003 for Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group for his feature on Outkast’s “The Whole World,” and was nominated in 2018 for Best Rap Song thanks to Danger Mouse’s “Chase Me” with Run The Jewels and Big Boi.

Ice Spice met Beyonce at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. In a video circulating on social media, the rapper can be seen approaching Beyonce at the ceremony. When The Neighborhood Talk shared the clip on Instagram, fans had mixed reactions.

Some complained about Ice Spice bothering the legendary singer. “Muni Long spoke on how everyone be bombarding Beyoncé at these shows. This exhibit A,” one user wrote. Another added: “Nah I feel embarrassed for ice cause it looked like b said excuse me let me greet this other girl.” Others defended the rising artist: “All the people hating on Ice saying she a fan but ain’t even in the same room as Beyoncé is wild let that girl live her best life.”

At the event, Beyonce’s husband, JAY-Z, took home the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. During his acceptance speech, he complained about the Recording Academy never recognizing Beyonce for Album of the Year. “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year,” he said. “So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys; never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work.”

JAY-Z criticized the Recording Academy while accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the 2024 Grammys on Sunday night. In doing so, he complained about Beyonce being the most decorated artist in Grammy history yet never winning Album of the Year. Taking the stage, he brought his daughter, Blue Ivy, with him.

Killer Mike’s Arrest Reason Revealed

Killer Mike was arrested shortly after his appearance at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night for a misdemeanor battery charge. According to an announcement from the LAPD, it was in regard to a physical altercation that occurred in the nearby area. TMZ reports that Mike knocked down a security officer who wouldn’t get out of his way.

Just moments before the arrest, Mike swept all three of the award categories he was competing in at the event. His track, “Scientists & Engineers,” helped him win Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance while his project, Michael, earned him Best Rap Album.

On stage, Mike was elated, yelling “You cannot tell me that you get too old, you can’t tell me it’s too late, you can’t tell me dreams come true! It’s a sweep!” into the microphone. “For all the people out there that think you get too old to rap, bullsh*t,” he added during his acceptance speech. “I don’t give a damn if you’re 78 rapping about how many gals you got in the nursing home, make sure we keep hip-hop alive.” In the Best Rap Album category, he beat out Metro Boomin (HEROES & VILLAINS), Nas (King’s Disease III), Travis Scott (Utopia), and Drake & 21 Savage (Her Loss).

Kai Cenat Has No Clue Who Killer Mike Is

Kai Cenat was streaming last night during the Grammys. Overall, there were plenty of storylines to come out of last night. For instance, Taylor Swift won Album of the Year for Midnights. Furthermore, Jay-Z gave a very passionate speech about the music industry that probably hit home for a lot of people. There were also some amazing performances from the likes of Travis Scott, Burna Boy, Stevie Wonder, and more. Not to mention, before the Grammys, Killer Mike won for Rap Album Of The Year.

Cenat was paying attention to the pre-Grammy awards and saw Killer Mike accept his award. If you are a fan of Cenat, you know he is a young guy who only pays attention to trendy artists. Consequently, the only albums nominated that he cared about were Utopia, Heroes & Villains, and Her Loss. When Killer Mike got the award, Kai immediately began asking “who is that?” Yes, that is right folks, Kai Cenat does not know who Killer Mike is. It is a sad reality, but it is one that we unfortunately live in.

Kai Cenat Was Not Happy

Cenat went on to ask who was in charge of the decision to give Killer Mike the win. He felt like Her Loss and Utopia were a lot more deserving. However, if you’ve been paying attention, it was almost a guarantee that Killer Mike was going to win. Unfortunately, the Michael artist was arrested soon after the event as he allegedly got into an altercation with a security guard. It was a sad sight to see especially since the MC was on such an emotional high.

As for Cenat, someone in his camp is going to have to put him on Killer Mike. However, his camp is probably full of Gen-Z, so it is unlikely that will happen. Moreover, the conversation this time around wasn’t so much about her outfit, even though its corset and traditional free-flowing dress combo drew some questions. “She got on a diaper?” one fan commented under the post covering the Scarlet star’s outfit below, with another adding, “The dress looks like the lil pad that be under the raw chicken.” Nevertheless, the main point of criticism or shock seems to be the many tattoos she donned, which took fans by surprise or contributed to their dislike of the look.

“Is it just me… but where did all these tattoos come from?” one fan wrote of Doja Cat, a statement that prevailed in this specific TSR discussion. “when did she get all these tattoos?!? Noted Grammys Hater Drake Slammed The Awards With A Message To The 2024 Nominees: ‘This Show Doesn’t Dictate Sh*t In Our World’

Drake has had a contentious relationship with the Grammys over the past few years. His and 21 Savage’s album Her Loss spawned four nominations at the 2024 ceremony, which Drake, who has withdrawn Grammy nods before, presumably only allowed to not deprive Savage of the opportunity. He didn’t show up to last night’s (February 4) show, but he had a message for those who did.

In an Instagram Story posted shortly before the ceremony started, Drake wrote, “All you incredible artists remember this show isn’t the facts it’s just the opinion of a group of people who’s name are kept a secret (literally you can google it) congrats to anybody winning anything for hip hop but this show doesn’t dictate sh*t in our world.”

Drake’s message was shared alongside a clip of his acceptance speech at the 2019 Grammys, when he won Best Rap Song for “God’s Plan” (his most recent Grammy win). He said, “We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport. […] You’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you’re a hero in your hometown… Look, if there’s people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here, I promise you. You already won.”

Coi Leray Ripped Apart Online After Grammy Outfit Fails To Live Up To Expectations

Coi Leray was one of the many artists in Los Angeles last night for the Grammy Awards. Overall, it was a ceremony that a lot of people were paying attention to. Although the reviews were split in terms of the winners, and even the host Trevor Noah, there is no doubt the ratings will be solid. People want to see their favorite artists win awards, and that is something that is never going to change. Moreover, people want to see what their favorite artists are going to wear on the red carpet.

Leray certainly decided to be provocative with her outfit. Below, you can see that she wore some sort of suit jacket and one-piece hybrid. This is by no means a dress, and Leray definitely turned heads when the bottom half is glorified underwear. A lot of questions were asked about the outfit, and for the most part, people were not feeling it all. However, what made matters worse was her hyping of the outfit. On January 26th, Leray said “Doing a fitting for the Grammys today …. Man when I tell you this shit about to be so crazy.”

In typical Twitter fashion, fans pulled up the receipts from Leray. This subsequently led to a whole lot of ribbing. Fans were not impressed with the effort, and there is no doubt that she failed to live up to expectations here. Every single year, there are artists who get clowned for their red carpet attire. Some end up getting it worse than others, and this year, it looks like Coi is the victim. Hopefully, she is able to come up with something a bit more memorable, next year.
