OG Parker Can “Still Work” With Ty Dolla $ign & Muni Long On New Single

OG Parker just dropped a new single with Ty Dolla $ign and Muni Long, the sultry R&B cut “Still Work.” Moreover, the track is built on hazy and pretty indistinct vocal samples that form a cloudy atmosphere. Unsurprisingly, both R&B singers give impressive vocal performances and captivating melody switch-ups. Furthermore, this track follows singles like “No Fuss” and “Rain Down” ahead of Parker’s next project, Moments. Also, the track’s music video employs a nostalgic vibe with a love story to represent the song’s longing themes. Overall, it’s a fitting track for the Valentine’s Day season and one that reaffirms finding love after a long time. Of course, what better way to represent that feeling with two of the most dominant current stars in soul?

However, OG’s production still hits pretty heavy, with a sharp trap beat with deep kicks and crisp snares. Even with the tracks more sentimental themes, you can let that hang in the background and focus on its soothing energy. Meanwhile, you can let that take a backseat to each singer’s lyrics of finding love again after rocky patches. “And the walls feel like they closin’ in,” Ty sings on the first verse. “It was good but your girls they lead a life of sin / Ayy, if you’re hearin’ this song / Girl, don’t take too long.”

Still, what did you think of OG Parker’s latest track, “Still Work” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Muni Long? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out the single’s music video and standout lines below. Also, if you haven’t heard the song yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service. As always, log back into HNHH for the latest great music releases in R&B and beyond.

Lurkin’ your Instagram, saw you was through and good without me

Soon as I get over it, you pop back, wanna reminisce

Key Glock Puts In “Work” On New Single

Key Glock just released a new single titled “Work,” which highlights why he’s one of Memphis’ biggest stars. Moreover, he got fans prepped and ready for his next album Glockoma 2, which releases next week on February 24th. Of course, Key’s never been one to take too long out of the spotlight. For example, just last year he released the PRE5L EP in honor of his fallen friend, Young Dolph. With this newest track, he continues contributing menacing, hard-hitting, but still emotionally resonant trap music. Although this newest track is about all the work Glock puts in, he still laments some of the losses he experienced along the way.

First off, the instrumental is a pretty unique effort, at least when compared to the rest of the output from his home city. For one, the haunting string and vocal samples that form its melody are atmospheric and quite distinct from your typical piano leads. While it doesn’t switch up much in terms of the beat, Glock’s flow goes through a few changes. Also, the beat’s oddity grows on you, and you notice its old-school Memphis-inspired drums the more you listen. At the center of it all, Key keeps a steady and authoritative flow as he details his perseverance.

Still, what did you think of Key Glock’s newest single ahead of his next album Glockoma 2, “Work”? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out some notable bars from the track below. Also, if you haven’t heard the song yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the best new music of the week and for Key Glock’s next album drop.

Quotable Lyrics
Wake up, no pancakes, just syrup
Ten toes down, yeah, stay on alert
I get it in like the first and the third
This s**t I got on, it came out the dirt
All of this money, I feel like I’m cursed
I lost my dawg, every day this s**t hurt

DJ Khaled Gives Rihanna Sweet Message Before Super Bowl Halftime Show

DJ Khaled had a sweet message for Rihanna ahead of her Super Bowl halftime show later today (February 12). Moreover, the We The Best mogul spoke to Page Six at Michael Rubin’s Fanatics party at the Arizona Biltmore. While he celebrated Super Bowl weekend along with dozens of A-list stars, he’s more excited for the grand event than anything else. In fact, RiRi and Khaled previously worked on the track “Wild Thoughts” together, which became one of that year’s biggest hits. Before she hits the stage and wows us all, the New Orleans-born hitmaker gave her some encouraging words.

“RiRi, I love you so much,” he expressed. “Congratulations in advance. They changed the name of Super Bowl. It’s called ‘RiRi Super Bowl.’ I’mma have my airhorn ready and I’m going to order me a cheeseburger well done. I’mma sit back, relax, watch the show… come on! It’s Super Bowl!” Also, the publication asked Khaled whether he’d be performing as a special guest. “I’m coming as a fan and Rihanna’s my sister,” he stated, dancing around the inquiry. “I can’t wait to see it. I’m here to support,” he told press present. In addition, he clarified that he’s rooting for the “Diamonds” singer over the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. “We’re all winners,” he said.

Also, he even performed a bit of his song “All I Do Is Win (Remix),” yelling to the crowd “Welcome to Rubinpalooza!” Elsewhere, he chatted with everyone from Odell Beckham Jr. to Kevin Hart. Other attendees at the event included Jay-Z, Drake, Travis Scott, Winnie Harlow, Teyana Taylor, and many more. Before celebrities from all over gathered to celebrate, Rihanna gave a press conference recently about her show.

“We’ve been working on it for a while, and every day it just gets closer and closer to the finished product,” she shared. “It’s a lot of preparation. This is the week that – it really is [about] being tested. Everyone, we’re just tightening up everything, everybody’s dialing in, everybody’s tuning up and [it’s] a lot of moving parts.” Let us know what song you’re looking forward to the most from Rihanna’s show in the comments below. Hitkidd Drops Female Rap Posse Cut Single, “You The Type”

“F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” producer Hitkidd just released “You the Type” with Aleza, K Carbon, Slimeroni, and Gloss Up. Overall, it’s a fiery and hard-hitting trap cut with great energy from every single female MC. In fact, they’re all from GloRilla’s clique, with whom the producer made their breakout track last year. Furthermore, each rapper gets a moment of shine via short and sweet verses that don’t let the energy up. As far as the instrumental, it’s just as murderous and bass-heavy as you’d expect from a Memphis production. However, it feels particularly dramatic or menacing thanks to low piano chords and regal melodies.

Unfortunately, the “F.N.F.” collaborators had a small falling out a couple of months ago as GloRilla and Hitkidd discussed contract issues. However, the producer’s longtime business partner Kadeem Phillips provided a third perspective, albeit from Hitkidd’s camp. “Glo independently collects money for FNF its all hers she just doesnt own the song and never will,” he wrote. “We actually saved her from losing millions and Glo was able to get a deal without having to sell her independent record. FNF was created to help all the girls not for CMG.”

Still what did you think of this latest Memphis posse cut, “You the Type” with Hitkidd, Aleza, K Carbon, Slimeroni, and Gloss Up? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out standout bars and the music video down below. Quotable Lyrics
I’m that type of b***h, I want your n***a, I’ll come snatch him (I’ll come take him)

Can’t get caught up by his b***h, so he still hit me through his Snapchat (Yeah, his Snap)

SZA Joins Lizzo On “Special” Remix

Lizzo and SZA just released a remix of the former’s standout track from last year, the uplifting and soulful “Special.” Moreover, it’s the title track on Lizzo’s 2022 album, not SZA’s SOS cut of the same name. Even though this new version doesn’t switch up much from the original, it was already powerful to begin with. Furthermore, the TDE vocalist adds some gorgeous background vocals throughout its runtime. Given Lizzo’s recent Grammy win for Record of the Year, this song takes on a particularly triumphant feeling. As SZA supports her industry colleague, you can feel the confidence and gratitude pour out.

However, the “Kill Bill” singer didn’t stop there. In fact, she opens up this new version with a short, but thematically fitting narrative. Throughout her lines and beneath her soothing vocal tone, she handles negativity from external sources and finds comfort in self-affirmation. While many might try to bring them down, both artists look inward for satisfaction and are proud of their emotions. After her verse ends, the chart-dominating artist supports Lizzo as she sings her parts. Even if it’s a minimal addition, it’s certainly a powerful one that adds more dynamism to the track.

Meanwhile, SZA also appeared at the Grammys and presented Bad Bunny with the Best Música Urbana Album. After all the incredible success of SOS, we’re sure she’ll make a show-stopping return to the Recording Academy next year. Still, what did you think of Lizzo and SZA teaming up on the former’s inspiring album track, “Special”? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out some notable lines from SZA’s verse down below. Also, if you haven’t heard the song yet, you can find the remix on your preferred streaming service. As always, check back in with HNHH for the best new music releases in hip-hop, R&B, and beyond.

Quotable Lyrics
Woke up this morning to somebody judging me

Jay Wheeler Asks For Help On His New Single, “SOS”

This is for the Boricuas out there. Puerto Rican reggaeatón and pop artist Jay Wheeler just released a new single and music video, “SOS.” However, this track leans into 80s-inspired production and an atmospheric sonic pallet. As such, if you’re unfamiliar with reggaetón artists or Latin music in general, this might be a great intro point for you. Moreover, he longs for a romantic partner, sending distress signals for her to join him, and conveys a lot of heart in his performance. Also, this single follows an incredible 2022, where he dropped his biggest album to date and sold out multiple shows. Now, he’s getting ready for his first world tour and new projects on the way.

“I’m very happy with the direction my career is taking, and I was dying to release new music and little by little show the people all the new things that are coming,” the 28-year-old expressed. “This song is part of that, we don’t stop for even a second. S.O.S. is a track that people will enjoy because it’s part of my essence and what my fans expect. It’s romantic, but danceable. I’m maintaining my style, but also combining a retro sound with modern elements, and I love the video. I hope people enjoy it and sing along with it.”

Still, what did you think of Jay Wheeler’s latest single, “SOS”? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out some standout lines and the music video down below. Quotable Lyrics
‘Toy dispuesto a buscarte y bajarle al orgullo primero
Estoy aborrecío’ de verte en el Insta, y no en el jangueo
Y estando solo aprendí que el amor no lo compra el dinero
Le tiré un DM a tu amiga (Amiga), pero pa’ preguntarle por ti

I’m tired of seeing you on Instagram and not going out,
Being alone taught me you can’t buy love,
I DM’d your friend, but to ask her about you)

Wiz Khalifa Joins DVBBS On Their “Sh Sh Sh (Hit That)” Single

EDM producers DVBBS just tapped Wiz Khalifa for their own spin on a viral track with “Sh Sh Sh (Hit That).” Moreover, its inspiration “Hit That” by Urfavxboyfriend and Goldsoul caught a lot of attention recently on TikTok. The original’s a dark but oddly charismatic trap cut, thanks to the whooshy mouthed sounds of gunfire from the artists. After its success, DVBBS loved what they heard and reached out to all artists involved to do a collab together. Furthermore, their take on “Hit That” is a house and jungle-inspired dance cut that mixes the original’s verses with heavy kicks and a Wiz verse.

However, the track still switches up its genre of choice and its instrumental pallet quite often in the track. As such, the various phases, transitions, and movements throughout “Sh Sh Sh” make it a pretty dynamic track. First, the track begins with an energetic build-up to Urfavxboyfriend’s verse, which uses house-like rhythms. Then, it switches into a small trap section with deep bass and sharp percussion. Finally, distorted bass breaks the song up before resonant grand piano chords introduce Wiz’s verse. “I’m rolling papers like diplomas,” he begins his charismatic and focused contribution. “I’m getting baked like this a sauna / I love all the woman, different genres / I seen all expensive s**t and bought it.” Overall, “Sh Sh Sh (Hit That)” is a fun and fittingly to-the-point reimagining of a fun and to-the-point viral track.

Terrace Martin Rocks “Chucks” With Channel Tres On Funky New Single

Terrace Martin just tapped Channel Tres for a funky and lush new single, “Chucks.” The two Los Angeles natives walk in pretty different musical lanes, but their link-up sparks fireworks. Moreover, Tres’ understated and almost sensual vocals pair with his deep house-inspired production. Also, there’s the undercurrent of soul and funk that runs throughout a lot of his work in the bassline and trumpets. However, Martin pops in the track with wailing saxophone and riffs effortlessly over the peppy jam. Even if you haven’t heard of these artists before, this track is a must on your weekly feel-good jams.

Furthermore, the acclaimed saxophonist is nominated for a Grammy this year for Best Progressive R&B Album for DRONES. Also, he’s got a few upcoming shows as part of his Dinner Party supergroup with Kamasi Washington, 9th Wonder, and Robert Glasper. They include a Terminal 5 set in New York and even a spot at Coachella this year. On the other hand, Channel Tres steadily released singles, featured on projects, and even dropped a couple of his own. If you’ve listened to either in any capacity, you know the curious potential of a track like this. While we’re not used to hearing Martin over electronic production, Channel Tres makes him feel right at home.

In fact, Channel’s quite good at adapting his style and production habits to varying genres and moods. Even Danny Brown’s wild delivery and zany bars sounded effortlessly cool on their collab with Baauer, “READY TO GO.” Still, what did you think of Terrace Martin’s latest track “Chucks” featuring Channel Tres? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and peep some standout lines from the song down below. Also, if you haven’t heard it yet, you can find the single on your preferred streaming service. Russ “Can’t Get This Right” On New Single

New Jersey-born and Atlanta-based artist Russ is back with a breezy and heartfelt new single, “Can’t Get This Right.” However, this track feels less like a new drop and more like business as usual for the rapper: a quality track every couple of weeks. Moreover, his last single was “PUT YOU ON GAME” just a few weeks ago, a hyped and boastful trap cut. He put out a load of singles last year, each with similar art styles but with pretty varied sonic pallets. Whether he’s working towards a compilation project or just dropping what he feels, his fans are well-fed.

Furthermore, “Can’t Get This Right” is a melodic, emotive, and classic-sounding effort from the 30-year-old. While the track is about a relationship coming to an end despite both sides’ efforts, it’s not really a downer. For example, the high-pitched vocal samples in the background give the track a positive, chipmunk-soul energy. Also, the crisp and steady R&B beat will make you bob your head regardless of whether you relate to the heartbroken lyrics. In terms of Russ’s performance, he maintains a light and confident middle register as he switches between the sung chorus and melodic verses. Still, it contrasts his expressions and reflections on this track, indicating a painful and yearning end to a crumbling relationship.

While the rapper acknowledges that something needs to change in him and his partner, he realizes they can’t grow together. But enough about relationship issues; what did you think of Russ’s new track, “Can’t Get This Right”? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and check out some standout bars from the single down below. Also, if you haven’t heard it yet, you can find the song on your preferred streaming service. As always, come back to HNHH for more quality releases in hip-hop, R&B, and any place in between each week.

Quotable Lyrics
We both know what to do, but pride is in the way-way
We both obsessed with bein’ right, can’t walk away-way
And everytime wе fight, we question the rеlationship
We don’t know if we makin’ it, it feels like ain’t no savin’ it

Tink Gets “Toxic” On New Single

Chicago rapper and singer Tink is back with a new song, the gorgeous and heart-ached “Toxic.” Moreover, the track is an exploration of a past relationship that she now regrets, conveying a lot of resentment and betrayed hindsight. Also, this is her first release since Pillow Talk dropped in August of 2022. Furthermore, the album featured 2 Chainz, G Herbo, Muni Long, and many more. Still, this solo outing displays Tink’s versatile talents, cutting lyricism, and measured sonic presentation. While you might know her for either her R&B or hip-hop escapades, you can’t deny her skill in either lane.

ATLANTA, GA – SEPTEMBER 30: Tink attends BET Hip Hop Awards 2022 on September 30, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Prince Williams/Filmmagic)

However, despite the track’s title, this is actually a very smooth and gorgeously produced cut. Sure, it only lasts two minutes and change, but its short sweetness means she punched in a lot of passion quickly. From the opening string melody, complemented with bright and soothing glockenspiel, the track continues its mellow trajectory. Moreover, the 27-year-old’s vocals soar prominently as the track’s main draw. Even if the instrumental backdrop is undoubtedly wondrous, it’s not enough to lessen the angst in Tink’s vocals. Still, it’s a compelling and dynamic mix of emotionally contrasting lyricism and instrumental prowess.

However, maybe you prefer a more even mix of the Chicago MC’s rapping and singing. For example, maybe you find this beat a little too slow. In that case, we’d recommend standout tracks from Pillow Talk like “Oooh Triflin” with Fabulous. Regardless, what did you think of Tink’s latest heart-ached but perseveringly beautiful new song, “Toxic”? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and check out the music video and notable lines down below. Also, if you haven’t heard the track yet, you can find the ballad on your preferred streaming service. As always, stay locked into HNHH for the best new releases each week in R&B and beyond.

Quotable Lyrics
Tryna play on my energy, all these hoes envy me,
Can’t show you what you meant to me, f**k s**t don’t get to me,
I’m a real b***h, not industry, still waiting on a b***h to finish me,
I was f***ing on the enemy, I should’ve known
