Audrey Nuna Does Some Space-Age Soul-Searching In Her ‘Jokes On Me’ Video

Back in February, we saw genre-hopping rising star Audrey Nuna team up with Teezo Touchdown on “Starving,” kicking off the singer-songwriter’s 2024 with a bang. She continues to delve into that spacey sound on her latest single, “Jokes On Me,” which dropped today with a video that finds her donning an astronaut-chic outfit and doing some soul-searching in the desert.

Nuna explained the song in the press release as being “about going through ups and downs with someone to realize in the end that the irony is pointing right back at you.” She also detailed its origins, recalling, “I wrote this song in Joshua Tree around close friends. The melody and words were inspired by the guitar chords that were playing. We were all sitting around in a dark home studio set-up and the melody was a one-take. Being around people that I could feel vulnerable with allowed the song to happen naturally.”

In addition to dropping new music, Audrey Nuna has also been exploring her love of fashion with the SYKY platform. The result, “Glamour as Armour,” is available for purchase now exclusively on SYKY.com and appears on the cover art for “Jokes On Me.” You can watch Audrey Nuna’s “Jokes On Me” video above.

Keyshia Cole Addresses Gloss Up & Hunxho’s Steamy Photos After Reactivating Instagram

Earlier today, Gloss Up unleashed a music video for her new collab with Hunxho, “Come Here.” While most fans are feeling the track, Hunxho’s girlfriend Keyshia Cole certainly isn’t. The video features various shots of Gloss Up twerking on Hunxho, the two of them hanging out in a bathtub, and more. Cole and Hunxho just confirmed their relationship last month, so needless to say, the steamy video has fans confused.

Shortly after it came out, social media sleuths noticed that Cole deactivated her Instagram account. It didn’t last long, however. Gloss Up went on to share a few photos of her and Hunxho on set, hugging and looking a bit too close for Cole’s comfort. Her suggestive caption didn’t help either.

Keyshia Cole Reacts To Gloss Up’s IG Post

“You Know What It Is In Real Life . 4L StinkaLink 🫶🏾 ‘Come Here’ Out Now Link In Bio,” she wrote. Upon seeing this, Keyshia Cole reactivated her account to make it clear that she wasn’t feeling the post. “Him being Yo ‘sneaky link’ When U have a “Man you bout to marry’ is nasty work,” she said alongside some laughing emojis. “But I wish u all the best on your project Love I was actually rooting for the video to come out.” At this point, it remains unclear how Hunxho feels about all of this. He did share one brief yet telling Tweet about the debacle recently, writing “Y’all hell [laughing emoji.]”

According to Keyshia, the photos were taken before she and Hunxho were official, but Gloss Up continues to taunt her on Twitter/X. She recently retweeted a post claiming that Hunxho “was gloss up man first.” What do you think of Gloss Up’s new video and photos with Hunxho? What about Keyshia Cole’s reaction to it? Kendrick Lamar Vs. Drake Inspires Hilarious Memes Following The Release Of “6:16 In LA”

Kendrick Lamar has been on a mission to take down Drake as of late. Overall, it almost felt like Lamar was never going to respond to Drake. After all, he has never fully involved himself in a rap feud. However, with “Euphoria,” Lamar proved everyone wrong. He delivered a scathing new track and fans were absolutely mesmerized by what he was able to do. On Friday, Kendrick decided to double down with a back-to-back-style track. “6:16 In LA” is a title with numerous potential meanings, and it has fans expecting a massive response from Drake.

Throughout this song, Kendrick mostly plays in Drake’s paranoia. In the past, Drizzy has spoken about being paranoid. With this new song, Lamar makes the claim that people within Drake’s camp want to see him fail and that they are feeding him information. Even if this is not true, it is certainly going to make the Canadian megastar think twice about whom he lets into his circle. Psychologically, this is a great angle for Kendrick, and fans are echoing those sentiments right now.

Megan Thee Stallion Shares Video Game-Inspired Teaser For New Music

Megan Thee Stallion started off 2024 with a bang. Before Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake became the biggest beef in rap, Megan threw down the gauntlet with her single “HISS.” The track took shots at multiple adversaries who have come out against her over the years, though most fans honed in on just one. Nicki Minaj was singled out as the song’s primary target mostly because of one particularly lethal line about Megan’s Law. When Minaj’s response track was universally panned for lacking any creative comebacks and delivering flat out lies, Megan took a much-deserved victory lap.

But now she seems to be back and gearing up towards releasing new music. She took to Instagram to tease fans with the message “😈🐍🎮 Are you ready to play ?.” The message was attached to two renditions of Megan in classic video game style. She serves up a pair of looks in the likeness of old Playstation fighting games and fans are eating it up. “his eats so bad i’m inspired to change my concert outfit 😭” one of the top comments on the post reads. Other fans feverishly speculate over whether or not either of the pictures are official artwork for Meg’s upcoming album. Check out the post and the variety of reactions to it below.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Fighting Game Artwork

Late last month, Megan Thee Stallion was hit with a lawsuit from a former photographer. It included allegations that Megan forced the photographer to watch her have sex, which she categorically denied. Her lawyer described the filing as a “salacious” money grab and numerous fellow celebs came forward in Megan’s defense. That included 50 Cent who even went as far as to say that her accuser should be punched in the head.

What do you think of the artwork Megan shared of her in the style of classic fighting game box art? Do you think she’s announcing her new album or just teasing fans for the release of another single? Let us know in the comment section below.

Lil Tecca Gives Us A Double Dose Of What’s Ahead For “Plan A” With “Number 2 / Never Last”

When it comes to fair number of hip-hop heads, lyricism makes or breaks a talented artist. But sometimes, being able to write catchy choruses, create addicting melodies, and have an ear-grabbing voice is more than enough. That is why Lil Tecca has been on an impressive run over the last year. After taking some time off after We Love You Tecca, the Queens, New York MC came back with a vengeance on TEC.

Tracks like “HVN ON EARTH,” “500lbs,” and “Down With Me,” have reignited some hype around the melodic crooner. He has been able to keep that momentum up in 2024 with the singles “Down With Me,” “Never Last,” and “Number 2,” all of which are a part of new project coming soon. Lil Tecca announced that Plan A would be dropping sometime later this summer and all of these songs have been building it up to be something special. The latter of two were just released earlier today, and both see the 21-year-old in tip-top shape.

Listen To “Number 2 / Never Last” By Lil Tecca

Honestly, it has hard to pick which song is better, because Tecca rides both beats to perfection. Like “Down With Me,” Tecca is continuing themes about relationships and side pieces on each single. “Number 2” is about dealing with the latter and them wanting to be his main. Subsequently, “Never Last” flows perfectly after right down to the transition in between, as Tecca sees how replaceable his love interests are. The sequencing of these cuts would suggest that they will be placed right next to each other on the tracklist, which has yet to be revealed.

What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles “Never Last / Number 2” by Lil Tecca? Which track are you enjoying more right now and why? Does this get you excited for his upcoming album Plan A, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Lil Tecca. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Quotable Lyrics From “Number 2”:

Bring that s*** together, I could be the glue, I could be the tool (I could be)
Now you tryna run the show, tryna be my main, but you number two, yeah, woah
Every time they went and tried or somethin’, it’s a man down, man down, man down
Better not bring your lil’ h* around, ’cause she fanned out, fanned out, fanned out
I don’t know where I would be today if I never went and took a chance now
But I know I had it planned out, still goin’, we not even here now

Rick Ross Calls Drake & Zack Bia “Hall & Oates”

Today, Kendrick Lamar dropped off yet another Drake diss track, “6:16 In LA.” The song follows the release of “Euphoria,” which he unleashed earlier this week. Aside from going in on Drizzy, Kendrick name-dropped DJ Akademiks, Kash Doll, and more. He even mentioned Zack Bia, a musician and influencer who’s become a close friend of Drake’s, joining him on tour last year.

“You playin’ dirty with propaganda, it blow up on ya/ You’re playin’ nerdy with Zack Bia and Twitter bots/ But your reality can’t hide behind wifi/ Your lil’ memes is losin’ steam, they figured you out,” Kendrick raps. Journalist Elliot Wilson took to Instagram today to share a photo of Bia and Drizzy together, prompting none other than Rick Ross to respond.

Rick Ross Mocks Drake & Zack Bia

“Hall and Oates,” Rozay wrote simply, comparing Bia and Drake to the 70s pop duo. He’s since taken to his Instagram Story with a clip of himself singing along to Hall & Oates, further mocking Drizzy. Fans are finding the comparison pretty funny, and are unsurprised that Ross was quick to jump in today. It’s not the first time he got involved amid Kendrick and Drake’s lyrical feud, as he himself dropped a diss track earlier this month, “Champagne Moments.” On it, he refers to Drake as “white boy,” accuses him of leaking his own music and using ghostwriters, and more.

Drake later responded to this on “Push Ups,” poking fun at Rick Ross’ age, and claiming that all of his top songs performed well only thanks to him. What do you think of Rick Ross continuing to clown Drake? What about him comparing Drake and Zack Bia to Hall & Oates? Are you a fan of Kendrick Lamar’s new diss track, “6:16 In LA”? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Rapsody Shares Her ‘3:AM’ Thoughts With Erykah Badu In Her Latest ‘Please Don’t Cry’ Single

It has been five years since Rapsody released Eve and her fans were getting antsy for a new album. Fortunately, she announced in March that her fourth studio album, Please Don’t Cry, is coming soon. She began the rollout with the single “Stand Tall” and an intimate conversation with actress Sanaa Lathan, demonstrating just what kind of inspirational and vulnerable material would appear on the album. Today, she continues the rollout with another new single, “3:AM,” a romantic late-night jam featuring none other than neo-soul godmother Erykah Badu.

In addition to releasing the usual set of lyrics videos and visualizers, Rap also shared a live performance video taken from Erykah Badu’s annual birthday bash concert in Dallas. The lyrics find the North Carolina native addressing a longtime lover and how he helps make her feel safe. “Not afraid to show my insecurities like Issa / Love makin’, booty clappin’ like Netty and Ceile / Netflix askin’ if we still watchin’ TV,” she rhymes. Meanwhile, on the chorus, Ms. Badu croons, “I remember late nights with you / What you like in the mornin’?”

Watch Rapsody’s ‘3:AM’ live performance video with Erykah Badu above.

Please Don’t Cry is due on 5/17 through We Each Other / Jamla Records / Roc Nation Records.

Dave East Ranked His All-Time Best Ballers Who Rap, And Has A Very Short List Of Rappers Who Can Actually Ball

There has long been a lot of crossover between the basketball and hip-hop world. We regularly see artists putting in work in the gym with top hoops trainers and even trying their hand at pro ball, while there is a long history of NBA players hopping in the studio to put out a rap album. As 2 Chainz — who played basketball at Alabama State — once eloquently explained to Dime, a lot of rappers and basketball players come from the same places.

“I know for a lot of Blacks, we thought that our only way to get out of the hood was either rappin’ or playing basketball,” 2 Chainz said. “So it has a common denominator for me and people who have a low socioeconomic status for a background. It kind of feels like you have to have a sport or some kind of other skill set, you dig, to get your mama a house. So that’s why we all want to play basketball, and that’s why all basketball players want to rap.”

However, there are levels to success in that crossover realm, and plenty of debate as to who has done the best when dipping a toe into that other world. On the most recent episode of Uproxx’s “Fresh Pair,” Dave East joined Just Blaze and Katty Customs and the conversation turned to hoops (5:00 mark of the above video). East played college ball at Richmond and Towson before becoming a hip-hop artist, and as such, he’s well-equipped to offer his list of the best ballers who rap and rappers who ball — noting there aren’t many that can really hoop.

“Ballers to rap? I would say, gotta throw Shaq in there. Shaq had a feature with Biggie, so you always gotta throw Shaq in. Shaq was hard, he was probably one of the first ones,” East said. “A.I. I feel like a lot of people don’t put Iverson in there, but I remember the “40 Bars” and all that. I remember Iverson, you feel me. Dame Lillard, to me now, in this generation right now, I think Dame got it as far as a baller that rap.

“Rappers to ball? Me. Yeah, I’m gonna put myself on the top of that list. I gotta get in shape. I feel like a lot of them rapper basketball dudes, they do it now. They got famous, they got a name, and that’s like their hobby in their free time. Like, I really used to play basketball. Before I ever wrote a rhyme or ever really thought about this, I was in the park or in the gym. I was really playing ball. When I see them lists, I laugh. I really used to do that. I need 30 days to get in shape. I got real footage on a real Division 1 program. Go find another rapper, I think 2 Chainz played D1. But it wasn’t too many of them that was. There’s a few of ‘em that nice. Salute the ones that are.”

It’s safe to say East isn’t very impressed by the videos of artists in the lab with Chris Brickley and other hoops trainers, but he does recognize he would need a month to train to get back in actual hoops shape.

Lil Durk Faces Criticism For Embracing His Religious Values With A New Chain

Last year, Lil Durk became one of the newest rap artists to embrace Islam, He publicly embraced the religion sharing his journey through social media. It’s a surprisingly common feat among rappers with Durk following in the footsteps of numerous other genre figures who made similar conversions. He’s continuing to publicly embrace his faith though his most recent move is one that left many questioning how deep that faith actually lies.

Pictures of a new chain Lil Durk copped made the rounds earlier this week. It’s a massive star of Islam chain that sports impressive detail in its craftsmanship. But fan criticisms weren’t with the quality of the chain itself, but the fact that Durk got it in the first place. Many rushed to the comments to point out that his music and many of his actions don’t align with the teachings of Islam at all. “In Islam men wearing chains is haram 😭” one of the top comments on the post reads. “everything he did and does is against religion lmao💀” another comment agrees. Check out the post and the fan reactions to it below.

Lil Durk’s Islam Chain Sparks Controversy

Recently fans have been discussing Lil Durk and India Royale. The pair have been one of the definitive couples in rap for years now but last month there were rumors of a rocky passage. That came when both of them made some tweets that led fans to believe they might be talking about each other. The developments never really went anywhere and it wasn’t much later that Durk was serenading India with some R&B jams. The couple never went public with whatever was wrong in the first place but they seem to have righted the ship in the weeks since.

What do you think of Lil Durk buying a new chain in the shape of the star of Islam? Do you think he’s serious about his religious beliefs despite seemingly going against the teachings often? Let us know in the comment section below.
