Record Store Day has unveiled the titles that they will be releasing for Black Friday 2023, just next month on November 24. Among the pressings, there are a few key titles that fans will be hoping to get their hands on.
Here’s what to know.
Noah Kahan is putting out a vinyl version of his Cape Elizabeth EP for the first time. Originally released in 2020, it will be available on a color marble vinyl as his “thank you to the fans who stuck around, came to shows, watched my livestreams and listened.”
Another RSD First release, Post Malone‘s The Diamond Collection will be available on clear vinyl.
Rilo Kiley will be reissuing their Under The Blacklight album on a translucent “blacklight” vinyl — available for the first time in this form since 2007.
Joni Mitchell’s Court And Spark Demos exclusive vinyl will include the never-before-heard recordings made during the album’s creation process.
Grateful Dead fans can also grab a vinyl copy of their Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA 3/2/1969 show. This will be limited to 7,500 copies and be a 5xLP pressing.
Other artists on this year’s list include releases from Dr. Dre, The Doors, The Jonas Brothers, The Beach Boys, De La Soul, Phoenix, Kim Petras, and more.

Record Store Day has been an annual tradition dating back to 2007. Originally started to celebrate (and potentially save) endangered independent record stores, it has since become an unofficial holiday for vinyl collectors and music lovers. Think Free Comic Book Day, but for fans of Amy Winehouse or Miles Davis instead of Batman and Spider-Man.
However, unlike Free Comic Book Day, Record Store Day happens twice a year: Once in April, and again in November — the day after Thanksgiving, in fact. You may know it as “Black Friday,” the day retail employees dread and early Christmas shoppers anticipate every autumn, when stores slash prices to clear stock for the coming new year. According to the official Record Store Day website: “Record Store Day and RSD Black Friday are different events” and the latter is an effort to “promote brick-and-mortar indie record stores in the face of a shopping frenzy.” The big difference is that “stores will launch the special releases on RSD Black Friday but may choose to carry them throughout the holiday season.”
What Day Is Record Store Day Black Friday 2023?
Thanksgiving falls (heh) on Thursday, November 23 this year, so naturally, Black Friday is November 24.

Sukihana is someone who has exploded in popularity over the last few months. Overall, it has been fun to watch her rise to fame. Although some people don’t like her behavior, others love that she is unapologetically her authentic self. Her authenticity is what has ultimately allowed her to get so far. In a world where people try to manufacture their persona, Suki is doing what she wants, when she wants. It is something that we should all probably be aspiring to, regardless of what you may think.
If you pay attention to Sukihana, you know that she has made some music. Overall, her music is incredibly raunchy and serves as a pretty good litmus test of whether or not you’re going to like her personality. That said, she has been making moves, and big artists are looking to collaborate. In a recent interview with The FanBus, Suki revealed exactly who she would be down to collaborate with. As you’re going to hear, the list is pretty extensive.
The artist says that she would love to work with massive stars like Adele and even Cardi B. However, her real dream is to someday work with Drake. As she explains, she feels like a song with Drake would be a massive banger, and would also prove to be extremely viral. It is hard to really disagree with this assessment, all things considered. Drizzy knows how to craft a hit, and with Suki’s energy, you can just imagine what the final result would end up being.
At this point, fans will have to wait a while for such a collab to take place. For now, Drake is focused on finishing up his new album, For All The Dogs. It is a project that fans have been very excited about, and we can only imagine what kind of tracks we will get. As for Sukihana, the grind continues. They appeared together at a number of high-profile events and publicly expressed their support for one another. Most recently, Diddy compared Yung Miami to Oprah, stating that he believes she will one day reach the billionaire’s level of wealth. This is largely due to Miami’s vast work ethic, endless business ventures, and talent. Evidently, heavy words like these are proof of their fondness for one another.

It is unknown to the public how the two met, but seeing as they are both musicians, it’s expected that they crossed paths at an event. Before they officially confirmed that they were together, however, there were already rumors of a romance. By the summer of 2021, speculations were being tossed around in the media. Neither of them addressed it though, even though they were sighted in public together a handful of times.
June 2022: Relationship Confirmation

Several months passed between the initial rumors and when the couple finally admitted to being an item. For a long while, Diddy and Yung Miami ignored the prying questions, but still further fueled public speculation. All of that finally changed in June 2022. Diddy and Yung Miami addressed the topic in an episode of Yung Miami’s podcast, Caresha Please. When Yung Miami asked him, “What we is?” on the episode, here’s what Diddy had to say: “We date, we’re dating. We go have dates. We’re friends. We go to exotic locations. We have great times.” Diddy definitely took his time coolly spelling all that out. They eventually moved on from the topic as the conversation progressed. However, fans and the media had finally gotten the confirmation they’d been waiting on for months.
A notable moment in their relationship occurred later that same month. It was on the night of the BET Awards when Diddy was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. While Diddy gave his acceptance speech up on stage, Yung Miami was seen holding up a “Go Papii” sign, cheering him on. Diddy later received backlash for not acknowledging the City Girl, even though he appreciated his other exes. Yung Miami didn’t seem bothered though. She doubled down on X (formerly Twitter) with a simple and short “GO PAPI! ” post.
Sept. 2022: Yung Miami Shares Details About Her Relationship With Diddy

In September 2022, during an interview with XXL, Yung Miami further elaborated on her relationship with Diddy. “We are dating. We single, but we’re dating,” she said. “People don’t know what dating means. He’s single, I’m single, but we’re dating. That’s what I mean when I say we go together. When we’re together, we’re together. We’re having the time of our lives, but we’re still single.”
She clarified the nature of their relationship as well, which led to the media insisting that they had an open relationship. However, Yung Miami simply meant that while they were hanging out and going on dates, there was no official title yet concerning their relationship. “He see other people outside of me and I see people outside of him,” she said. “I’m young, I’m dating, you know, having fun… doing me. He’s doing the same thing. I can’t speak for exactly what he doing or who he seeing, but we single and we dating.”
Nov. 2022: More Relationship Shenanigans
Between September and November 2022, Diddy and Yung Miami were seen together often. Yung Miami was also featured on the remix of his song “Gotta Move On,” and she appeared in the music video. In November, Diddy received an iced-out chain from Yung Miami for his birthday. The two were openly affectionate towards each other, and glimpses of their relationship often made it into social media.
While things were rosy for a number of months, the internet became privy to a couple of chips in the wall. Drama ensued in Yung Miami and Diddy’s relationship after the latter welcomed his seventh child. In December 2022, when he announced the arrival of the child on social media, the news shook the net. Following the announcement, Yung Miami was called a “side chick” by Akademiks. Soon after, she also got into a heated online row with Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Gina Huynh.
April 2023: Diddy and Yung Miami: Up In The Air

In April 2023, in an interview with The Cut, Yung Miami shared that she was no longer dating Diddy. After answering “no” when asked if they were still together, she further elaborated. “We’re still friends! We’re still good friends! But we’re single,” she said. “That’s not my man. We had our own situation, I’m not gonna put a title on it. We were fucking with each other hard… were together every day at one point. He supported me, I supported him. I’ll let the internet call it whatever they want to call it.”
However, while their relationship officially lasted almost a year, the pair are still very much having fun together. Furthermore, they continue to fuel rumors of being an item. For example, Yung Miami and Diddy recently spoke about their sex life, among other things on Apple’s Love Radio. So whether they are seeing each other, or just loving on each other loudly, their relationship is still far from over.
Make no mistake, Katy Perry is one of the most definitive pop acts of the century. However, like all megastars, collaborating with Hip Hop acts is evident. Katy Perry is no different and has some notable Hip Hop collaborations that have greatly elevated her pop tracks. From the chart-topping “E.T.” featuring Kanye West to the trap-pop club banger “Bon Appétit” with the Migos, Perry has worked with some of the most prominent rappers around. In continuing on with her roll, Katy Perry revealed she wants to collab with Ice Spice.
Although her sound has evolved over the years, her fifth studio album, Witness, was a highlight. On Witness, Katy Perry enlisted not one but three Hip Hop acts for some of the biggest collabs in her discography. Additionally, Kodak Black has expressed interest in working with her. Judging from the success of her previous pop-rap partnerships, perhaps another hit is in store for her. Overall, her work with rappers has been some of the best pop-rap mergers of the modern music scene.
“Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” feat. Missy Elliott (2011)
Due to the overwhelming success of the original track, the remix of “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” went largely under the radar. However, featuring Missy Elliott was evidently a brilliant idea, particularly with the flow Elliott brought to the unmistakably pop sound. The Hip Hop queen kicked off the song with a sonically advanced tone and fun, sexy lyrics to top it off. Elliott reappeared towards the end of the track before Perry closed out with the chorus. It’s one of a few Hip Hop collabs that Katy Perry can boast of, arguably one of her best.
“Bon Appétit” feat. Migos (2017)
On her fifth studio album, Witness, Katy Perry featured several notable Hip Hop stars. One of the most popular tracks on the album is “Bon Appétit,” which features Migos. “Bon Appétit” packs a ton of genres into its almost four-minute runtime. From dance-pop to drum and bass, and of course, Migos’ signature trap, the song was heavily played in the club scene. While the reception was mixed, the song was a moderate commercial success. However, Migos’ verse was welcome, as well as the song’s EDM feel. Since its release, Katy Perry has performed it several times, as it is one of her most popular Hip Hop collabs to date.
“Chained To The Rhythm” feat. Skip Marley & Lil Yachty (2017)
While “Chained to the Rhythm” is Hip Hop-leaning, it remains one of the most lauded collabs Katy Perry has in her catalog. Skip Marley is featured on the single track, while Lil Yachty appears on an official remix. Overall, the song’s message about real-world issues is particularly noteworthy, and one of the reasons for its success. “Chained to the Rhythm” is easily one of Perry’s most conscious offerings and marked a significant moment in her writing portfolio, signaling great songwriting improvement.
Both the Barbz and Katycats had clamored for a collaboration for a long time between Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. Eventually, in 2017, the two stars joined forces on the former’s single, “Swish Swish.” One of her most popular collabs, Perry revealed to Jimmy Fallon that the song is aimed at her bullies and haters. Most notably, the song was believed to be aimed at Taylor Swift, who was feuding with Perry at the time. Nonetheless, the track’s highlight was Nicki Minaj, who delivered a cutthroat verse to accompany Perry’s vocals. While the song was moderately well received, Nicki’s verse was lauded.
“E.T.” feat. Kanye West (2011)
Enlisting Kanye West for the official single, Perry achieved great success with the single “E.T.” in 2011. West, who had already begun to make waves for his electronic-infused music, was a perfect addition to the song. The pair performed the track at numerous events, including the Grammy Awards. West also appeared in the music video for “E.T.,” providing a more mellow visual image than Perry’s outlandish costumes and imagery. The song was both a critical and commercial success, and West’s involvement helped shoot the single to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
Katy Perry cinched the top spot on numerous charts with “Dark Horse,” one of her biggest Hip Hop collabs. While the song’s reception was critically mixed, fans widely praised it. Consequently, the song has achieved a Diamond certification, with over 11 million units sold. “Dark Horse” is a trap-pop song that employs a haunting melody. Juicy J provided his verse in signature style, awarding the track an extra oomph. The success of “Dark Horse” was rather monumental, and the single ended the 2010s as the 26th-best Billboard hit.
“California Gurls” feat. Snoop Dogg (2010)
In what is undoubtedly one of her most notable songs, “California Gurls” didn’t take any time to reach the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100. The confectionary tune was also greatly elevated by its featured act, Snoop Dogg. The West Coast icon floated effortlessly on the unabashedly bubblegum pop track. He also appeared in the song’s music video and engaged in a candy battle with the singer. Katy Perry began a tremendous music chart-topping run with “California Gurls,” and the song remains one of her most notable collabs.
This past weekend, the creator of Friday took to his 5.7 million followers on Twitter to make a statement. “For those who thinks it flatters me, please don’t call me a fucking goat. Carry-on,” he wrote.
A few hours later, he followed up his tweet with another comment about being a GOAT. He added, “Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the respect but don’t call me that.”

While we can’t pinpoint exactly where these comments stemmed from, it’s important to note Ice Cube’s tenure in the entertainment industry, from being a member of Hip-Hop group N.W.A., to his solo projects to someone who “started this gangsta shit,” Ice Cube has proven decade after decade his contributions to music, film, and now sports as a founding member of the BIG3 basketball league.
JAY-Z and his mother were honored at the Brooklyn Public Library Gala where Jay’s Book of HOV exhibit will live through December as he delivered a speech.
U2 kicked off their Las Vegas residency recently in the brand new opening of the massive Sphere venue. The group is currently set to play 25 shows in total of their U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere shows through December 16.
However, some might be wondering who will play the venue after them, considering it cost $2.3 billion to build the giant globe. Right now, there aren’t currently any musical acts set to follow U2 — but there very well could be soon.
There will, though, be a premiere of director Darren Aronofsky’s film titled Postcards From Earth inside the venue. He was previously seen setting it up inside to see what the immersive experience would look like.
After social media users started to see photos of what U2’s set looked like inside the venue, many had suggestions of who should play the next. (The stage looked quite small, as it primarily relied on the images around the entire bubble to control the experience.)

The 27-year-old murder case of Tupac Shakur took a turn last month when it was reported that Las Vegas Police had arrested Duane “Keefe D” Davis after raiding his wife’s home in July. Davis was charged with murder with use of a deadly weapon in Tupac’s death; he maintains that he in the vehicle with others who committed the drive-by shooting that killed the rapper in 1996.
However, Tupac’s fellow occupant of the other involved vehicle, Death Row Records founder Suge Knight, said that the police have the wrong man. Furthermore, he said he will refuse to testify against Davis despite being one of only a handful of people who might have firsthand knowledge of the shooting (and one of only two still alive to talk). TMZ reports that Knight expressly denied Davis’ account of events and that Davis’s nephew Orlando Anderson pulled the trigger. According to police, though, Davis was the owner of the gun used to kill Tupac in retaliation for a brawl at the MGM Grand just after Mike Tyson fought Bruce Seldon.
Although Knight has said that Anderson didn’t shoot Tupac and that Davis wasn’t involved, he will never tell who did — if he even knows. However, Davis has been adamant for years about his recollection, even writing a memoir that detailed the events leading up to the shooting. That memoir was a big part of what prompted the raid, and a copy was among the evidence collected. Knight’s reasoning for defending Davis is simple; per TMZ, “he’d never wish prison time on anyone.”
Jay-Z has continued to represent New York and Brooklyn in particular as much as anyone. For all the love he’s shown his hometown over the years, it’s paying him back. Recently the Brooklynn Public Library hosted a Gala where both Jay and his mother Dr. Gloria Carter were honored. He was introduced by NYC Mayor Eric Adams and gave a speech that had fans both in person and online cracking up.
“I figured if these young men could speak on behalf of their dad, I could speak on behalf of my mom. Dr. Gloria had to see a doctor earlier. She’s gonna be very upset that I told y’all that. She gave me a very bad excuse and I couldn’t do it and lie to the good people of Brooklyn,” Jay-Z opened his speech to laughs in the room. That wasn’t even the only hilarious line he delivered about his mother. “I think she’s hungover. There’s no other way to put it. Over the weekend, Jay-Z hosted an event of his own. It was a high-roller James Bond-themed casino party with a stacked celebrity guest list. The party was a charity event seeking to raise money for criminal justice reform through the REFORM Alliance. They achieved a pretty lofty goal of raising $24 million to donate to the charity.
One name who wasn’t at the casino event was Beyonce. Jay-Z’s own wife missed the event but had a pretty good reason. She had just wrapped up the final show on her Renaissance tour. The massive tour concluded the night before the casino event so it’s hard to blame her for missing out.
