Marv Won, Fatt Father, & Elzhi Rap With Conviction On “Measuring Stick”

The thing about rappers who come from areas of steel mills and industrial factories is that you know you are going to get music that embodies that lifestyle. Aggressive and gritty hip-hop gives listeners a sense of power to conquer anything life throws at them. Which makes sense, considering how tough being a blue-collar worker can be on a day-to-day basis. One artist in this hardcore hip-hop lane that comes across as authentic is Marv Won. The Detroit native is tough as nails anytime he hops on a beat. Today, we are covering Marv Won’s collaboration with Fatt Father and Elzhi called “Measuring Stick.”

This is a braggadocious track about being at the top of the rap game and being the example of greatness everyone else needs to meet. Marv Won and Fatt Father work together quite often and do so with ease. The reason for that is because both are in a rap posse called Fat Killahz. It consists of them and Bang Belushi, as well as King Gordy.

Tommy Richman, Paco, & Jonah Roy Collide For Spooky “GHOULS N GHOSTS”

While we specialize in covering artists that in hip-hop and R&B, it is always a fun time covering talents that blur the lines between the two. Case and point, Tommy Richman. He is a resident of Virginia and he really is a unique case. However, he embraces the fact that he does not pigeonhole himself to one genre. In a chat with Lyrical Lemonade, he explains how he likes to create music. “Honestly man, I just try to make cool s*** for people but more so for me. It’s not about the gimmicks or cliches for me.”

Tommy continues, “I wanna make stuff that’s palatable and listenable but also just s*** I like and am interested in.” That is when the interviewer dug a little deeper and questioned him about how he wants the listener to feel. “I personally think this is a silly question. I don’t really care what people think about it. People can feel however they want – if they think it’s cool then great and if they don’t, f*** it!”

Listen To “GHOULS N GHOSTS” By Tommy Richman, Paco, & Jonah Roy

The multi-talent goes on, “I make the music that I feel and connect with and if it connects with someone else, then great.” That is the case for his new song “GHOULS N GHOSTS” with a feature from Paco and production from Jonah Roy. It seems its connecting with listeners as each performer fits nicely over the Luigi’s Mansion-esque beat. The song has a similar melody that you might hear on a Brent Faiyaz song. Which makes sense considering Tommy had some placements on his recent LP.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “GHOULS N GHOSTS,” by Tommy Richman, Paco, and Jonah Roy? Is this one of the best tracks Tommy has ever made, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Would you like to see him drop a new project sometime this year? Who had the more memorable performance? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Erika De Casier Drops A Whole Vibe With “Still”

Multi-cultural R&B singer Erika de Casier is an extremely underrated artist in the R&B space. She has a serene and entrancing voice that can fit over pretty much any instrumental you throw her way. Born in Portugal to a Belgian mother, the soon-to-be 25-year-old artist is back with a new project that sees her attack that very challenge. Still is Erika de Casier’s first record since 2021’s Sensational.

She got this project out in late February, but we still wanted to give it a listen. We are sure glad we did, as there are plenty of fun and beautiful songs that add so much diversity to the tracklist. Speaking of which, there are 14 cuts to be heard on this one, making it her longest to date. Features include They Hate Change, Shygirl, and Blood Orange.

Listen To Still By Erika De Casier

As we mentioned, Erika is sensually singing on top of a wide range of instrumentals, many of which she had a hand in. Only herself, Natal Zaks, and Nick Leon are the producers on Still. That title may be a bit of an oxymoron, as Erika does not remain stuck with one type of production style. We highly encourage you check this one out ASAP.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, Still, by Erika de Casier? Is this her best project ever, why or why not? What songs are you gravitating toward and why? Who had the strongest feature performance and why? Is she the most underrated R&B artist going right now? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Erika de Casier. Finally, stay with us for the most informative project posts throughout the week.

Joe Budden Walks Back Beyonce Criticism

Joe Budden has apologized to Beyonce for his criticism of her latest single, “Texas Hold ‘Em.” In a previous episode of his podcast, he refused to speak on the track because he’s “not a country music critic.” The single was one of two country songs Beyonce dropped by surprise during the Super Bowl.

“I want to apologize to Beyonce,” Budden said. “I like that song, I like the other song too, but I like that song a lot. And let me tell you something, let me be totally phony and get on the total opposite of everything I said the first time. If the rumors are true, if Beyoncé is covering that Dolly Parton song. If that little rumor is true — ’cause Dolly just tweeted yesterday and that tweet ain’t out of nowhere, if Beyonce does that? Oh my God. Get Mason Ramsey to open up!”

While the song topped the Billboard Hot 100, Joe Budden hasn’t been the only voice to criticize the genre pivot for Beyonce. Azealia Banks also recently admitted she isn’t a fan of the move. “You’re setting yourself up to be ridiculed again,” Banks said on social media. “There’s a theatrical element to country music !!! Them critics are not just going to accept an ugly blond wig and bullying from jay-z !!! It’s giving big time musical grift… [Y]ou’re just really not hitting the button.” Check out Budden’s comments on “Texas Hold ‘Em” below.

He scored the historic point with a driving layup at the 10:39 mark of the second quarter. He entered the game needing nine points.

“No one has ever done it,” James said when asked about reaching 40,000, earlier this week. “And for me to be in this position at this point and time in my career, I think it’s pretty cool. Does it sit at the top of the things I’ve done in my career? No. But does it mean something? Of course. Absolutely. Why wouldn’t it? To be able to accomplish things in this league, with the greatest players to ever play in this league, the NBA, this has been a dream of mine and to hit feats and have milestones throughout my career, they all mean something to me. Obviously, there’s a pecking order of which [accomplishments] are higher than others, but I would be lying to you if I said it doesn’t mean anything. Because it absolutely does.”

Meek Mill Tells Fans To Stop Questioning If He’s Straight Amid Diddy Rumors

Meek Mill is tired of fans asking if he’s straight amid rumors that he was involved in a sexual relationship with Diddy. The rumors stem from Rodney Jones’ lawsuit accusing the Bad Boy mogul of sexual assault. In the filing, he claims Diddy once bragged about having sex with a male rapper from Philadelphia who previously dated Nicki Minaj. Meek has been addressing the allegations on Twitter in the days since.

“Stop asking me if I’m straight I’m just gonna play it raw how the world is … I’m blessed I’m okay but I ain’t hearing nothing good looking!” Meek wrote on Twitter, Friday night. In another post, he added: “Don’t tell me stop responding do something!”

Meek isn’t the only one to deny the story. In a statement for TMZ, Diddy’s attorney, Shawn Holley, explained: “Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday. His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines. We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies. Our attempts to share this proof with Mr. Jones’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls. We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them.”

Lil Yachty & Dr. Umar Debate Use Of The N-Word

Lil Yachty debated the use of the n-word with Dr. Umar after inviting the polarizing social media personality on his podcast, A Safe Place. While Yachty argued that his use of the word in his music and personal life is about reclamation, Umar argued it’s an example of “Post Traumatic Slavery Disease.”

“Show me another group of people who will fight for the right to continue to use a word that the government itself codified as a psychological word of mass destruction against your people,” Dr. Umar began. “It’s because of your Post Traumatic Slavery Disease.” On the other side, Yachty argued: “I was thinking it was a thing of almost just the swag and confidence that African Americans have that look like some, ‘F*ck y’all, we gon’ take the sh*t y’all use to break us down with and let you know that it don’t have no power over us.’”

Welcoming Umar on his podcast comes as the show continues to grow in popularity. Yachty has spoken with J. Cole, Lucki, Veeze, Sexyy Red, and many more artists in recent months. In addition to A Safe Place, Yachty is also hard at work on a new collaborative project with James Blake titled Bad Cameo. “I mean, granted, I think James has worked with a quite substantial amount of Hip Hop artists. But this project is so left for both of us,” he said. “And then, aside from the one picture that James posted, which — he doesn’t have many followers actually — I don’t think people know that we know each other exist. So it’s just gon’ be like, ‘What the fuck?! When they do this?’”
