Once upon a time, in 2014, Big Sean dropped his multi-platinum-certified single “I Don’t F*ck With You” featuring E-40. In 2024, Big Sean does not f*ck with X (formerly Twitter). More specifically, the bots infiltrating the platform post-Elon Musk.

Earlier Tuesday, Big Sean was revealed as the latest Essence cover star. The accompanying cover story written by Elijah Watson explored Big Sean’s experience as a relatively new father, including Sean’s admission that he has enjoyed “slowing down and focusing solely on Noah.” (He and Jhené Aiko welcomed Noah in November 2022.)
In late March, Big Sean released “Precision,” which preceded his announcement of a forthcoming self-help book, Go Higher: Five Practices For Purpose, Success, And Inner Peace.
“I’m excited about a lot of things we’ve got dropping this year,” Big Sean said, in part, in a video posted on Instagram on April 3. “A lot of new music, new projects, but aside from the music, it’s another project that’s been years in the making that’s finally time — I can’t even believe it, for real.”
He continued, “I’ve always been about speaking from the heart, following your intuition, checking in with yourself mentally, because that’s how I was raised.”
And so, it goes without saying that Big Sean was raised better than those acting up on X.

He hasn’t always come out on top (most fans think Eminem took his head off), but that’s beside the point. The bottom line is that he’s shown a willingness to get in the ring when he has an issue with someone. It may be due of this reputation that MGK clarified he has no problem with Taylor Swift. The rapper-turned-rock star stated, unequivocally, that he doesn’t want to suffer the ire of “Swifties.”
The topic came about during a recent episode of the YouTube series First We Feast. MGK and Trippie Redd took turns giving each other difficult prompts, and the former got a doozy involving Swift. Redd dared MGK to name three negative things about the “Antihero” singer. “You offered to pay $1 million if Travis Kelce would come play for the Cleveland Browns,” the rapper noted. “Burn that bridge by saying three mean things about Taylor Swift.” MGK immediately rejected the prompt, despite Redd’s teasing. “Jesus Christ, I just — bro, she’s very nice,” MGK asserted. “She’s very, very nice.”

They have have been subliminally dissing each other ever since, which makes the sudden explosion of diss tracks and blatant call-outs so exciting. The gloves are finally off, and one of them could not be more eager to engage in full-on battle.
DJ Akademiks has become the unofficial mouthpiece for Drake throughout the Lamar feud. The online personality has broken news on his live streams and updated fans with messages from the 6 God. He continued to do so during a recent episode of his Off the Record podcast. Akademiks clarified that he doesn’t share every text exchange he has with Drake, but felt that the rapper’s comments about Lamar warranted reporting. He told the other guests on the show that Drake has been waiting for “10 years” to battle Lamar, and is hopeful his opponent rises to the challenge.

DJ Akademiks relayed Drake’s frustration with K. Dot and his pattern of dropping combative verses and then going away. “[Drake’s] watched the pattern,” Ak noted. “Like he specifically told me, ‘I’ve watched this guy do the same bait and switch every time. He drops like a verse that people are hyped up about. I’m always ready to engage, always ready to defend myself, and then [Lamar] goes ghost and nothing happens.” Akademiks then referenced the diss track that K. Dot has allegedly been writing for several years, and inferred that Drake’s desire to engage is what has fueled his trolling via social media posts and diss tracks.
“You can tell [Drake] wants the showdown to happen now,” Ak added. “Not for everybody to go back to their corners and reconvene another time. He wants it now.” Drake’s constant trolling could not be more different in approach to Lamar, who has been silent since he dropped the “Like That” verse. Fans have debated which approach has been more effective thus far, but a decisive winner can’t be decided until Lamar decides to come out of hiding and drop a response to Drake’s “Push Ups.”

The album featured guest spots from Freddie Gibbs, Rico Nasty, Ab-Soul, and more. It almost had an even more stacked cast but a planned collaboration with A$AP Rocky fell through. Now fans of the record will get a chance to see him perform the songs live for the first time this summer.
ScHoolboy Q announced a new tour, but it isn’t quite like the kind of tours most artists go on. Instead of playing a tightly packed series of shows in quick succession, he’s going on a “weekends” tour. He’s playing either two or three shows across a weekend for five straight weekends in July and August. The 11-show tour will hit numerous American cities as well as Toronto. Snoop Dogg Learns French In New Teaser For he Paris Olympics
Seemingly everyone loves Snoop Dogg and that doesn’t include just the United States. The rap superstar is so beloved worldwide that he plays a role in a promo for the upcoming Olympics in Paris. He shared the video to Instagram alongside NBC, who will air the competition, a their streaming service Peacock. With the Olympics just a few months away Snoop has to brush up on his French but luckily he has the perfect teacher.
The video is titled “French Lessons With Cordoba” the name of Snoop’s granddaughter. In the adorable promo video she teaches her world famous grandparent a few simple French lessons. The video takes place on an adorable set littered with pink decorations and mini tea party tools. He learns the names of different foods, landmarks, and greetings before turning it around on Cordoba and testing her knowledge. “Paris @nbcolympics is only a few months away yall!!

Snoop Dogg Learns French For The Paris Olympics
Much of the recent discussion surrounding Snoop Dogg spawned from Drake’s new Kendrick Lamar diss track “Taylor Made.” On the song he used AI generated vocals of both Snoop and even more controversially of Tupac. After fans digested the new disses that he threw out at Kendrick, they started to process the use of artificially assembled voices of real rappers. That sparked a debate over whether or not Drake too things too far using the emerging technology in the diss track.
People like Suge Knight and even Tupac’s own brother have called him out for the move and claimed that it was disrespectful, even threatening legal action against the rapper.
