Rae Sremmurd’s Half-Brother Charged In Father’s Murder: Report

Michael Sullivan, the half-brother of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi of the group Rae Sremmurd, has reportedly been charged with first-degree murder over the death of his father Floyd Sullivan Jr., the rappers’ step-dad.

The report comes via TMZ, which says D.A. John Weddle informed the publication of the charges following a grand jury hearing in January. If he’s convicted, Michael reportedly faces life in prison. He is not currently facing the death penalty. There is no reported date for the case to head to trial.

Bernadette Walker, Michael’s mother, previously said that she thought her son, who had been struggling with schizoaffective disorder, was off his medication before the shooting. He had reportedly been having episodes with her before moving in with his father.

Michael Sullivan was arrested in January 2020 as a suspect in his father’s murder. As TMZ points out, Rae Sremmurd had previously posed in pictures with their half-brother and were seemingly pretty close to him.

We will keep you updated with details on the case when it heads to trial.

Pop Smoke’s Legacy Lives On In “AP” Music Video

Pop Smoke’s acting debut in the film Boogie is officially upon us with the movie earning its theatrical release last week. The Brooklyn rapper was on pace to become the next crossover superstar, making a huge splash on the charts with his posthumous debut album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, which included the hit songs “For The Night” featuring Lil Baby and DaBaby, “The Woo” with 50 Cent and Roddy Ricch, “What You Know Bout Love”, and “Mood Swings” featuring Lil Tjay.

As part of the rollout for Boogie, another posthumous single was released by Pop Smoke’s team called “AP”. The track unpacks the late rapper’s love for expensive jewelry, especially his Audemars Piguet watches. A music video was released for the song on Wednesday, alternating between footage from the film, videos of Pop performing, and unreleased content with the artist.

Watch the music video above and be sure to check out Boogie, as well. The soundtrack is available here, with more new music from Pop Smoke.

The Weeknd Announces “House Of Balloons” Re-Release For 10-Year Anniversary

Ten years ago, The Weeknd emerged from the shadows of Toronto, protecting his anonymity with the release of his debut mixtape House Of Balloons. The body of work contained songs that went on to jumpstart the superstar career of the formerly-homeless artist, including “High For This”, “Wicked Games”, and more.

Since then, The Weeknd has become a household name, performing for millions at home at this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show and spending an entire year in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10 with “Blinding Lights”, one of the biggest hits of the century. With the 10-year anniversary of House Of Balloons approaching in a few days, Abel Tesfaye has announced that he will re-release his debut mixtape on all digital streaming platforms, bundling the project with 1,000 limited-edition vinyls and exclusive merchandise.

The album artwork has been reimagined by artist Daniel Arsham, who said the following: “The summer of 2011 will always be marked by House of Balloons. Like a time travel device, the album transports me back to that specific moment in time every time I listen. It is a great privilege to work with The Weeknd and the XO Team to reimagine the iconic album art of House of Balloons as an eroded sculpture for the ten year anniversary.  Alongside the transparent vinyl and eroded album artwork – we also worked on a collection of merchandise including a Varsity Jacket, blending my own aesthetic with that of The Weeknd’s.”

The re-release will include all original samples and mixes. It will be presented in its original incarnation, marking the first time it will ever be available on Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, and other DSPs.

The mixtape will be re-released on Sunday, March 21. What’s your favorite song from House Of Balloons?

Photos Surface Of Atlanta Spa Shooting Suspect

Tragic news struck yesterday in the Atlanta area after it was reported that a string of fatal shootings at three different spas and massage parlors in the Atlanta area left eight people dead, including six Asian women. Police apprehended the suspect yesterday before his mugshot was publicly released.

Police arrested 21-year-old White male Robert Aaron Long earlier today who admitted to the shootings, though denied that it was racially motivated, per Captain Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s office. Long was arrested several hours after the shootings South of the Atlanta area after a manhunt and this morning, his image was released to the public.

Long reportedly told police that he had a sex addiction and shot up the spas to eliminate the sexual temptation. Long told investigators that he blames the massage parlors for providing an outlet for his addiction to sex,” a press release stated. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said that he was heading to Florida after the shootings to possibly commit other crimes.

The Daily Beast recently published a report revealing that the suspect’s father was a pastor and Long, too, was “big into religion,” according to his former classmate. He was also heavily involved in the Crabapple First Baptist Church where he attended with his family.

We will keep you updated on more information regarding the case.

Loni Love Says Tiffany Haddish Is Right About Nicki Minaj

Tiffany Haddish is seemingly pretty confused about the headlines connecting her to Nicki Minaj by way of an alleged leaked audio clip that originated from Clubhouse. During the call, Tiffany Haddish was praised as the “Nicki Minaj of comedy”, which prompted her to make some uncalled-for remarks about the rapper. “And unlike Nicki, I treat everyone with respect and dignity,” she allegedly said on the call.

The comedian commented on the brewing feud on Twitter this week, replying “Huh?” to a fan that brought up the audio. While Tiffany may be trying to play dumb and let this blow over, The Real co-host Loni Love is backing her up, co-signing one of the comments she made about The Queen.

“She is correct. Nicki can be a little, you know, not punctual,” said Loni Love during a recent episode of Nightly Pop. “I had her on the show, on The Real, and girl was worth it. She was late. She was about an hour [late]. We had to go buy chicken for her whole crew. It was a demand. It was Popeyes.”

Loni says that she went with the show’s personal assistant to go get the chicken because there was nothing better for her to do as she waited. When she got back, Nicki Minaj was finally ready to go live and she allegedly did a great job. However, all the chicken that Loni went to get was still in her dressing room after she left. The host says she didn’t mind though because she had some of it herself.

It’s not uncommon for certain celebrities to run behind on their schedules. Perhaps her tendency to be late to things left a bad taste in Tiffany Haddish’s mouth?

Money Man Is Back With A New Track “Doses”

After years of hustling, it felt like in 2020, Money Man was finally getting his proper shine. Largely due to the success of the Kobe Bryant-inspired, “24” ft. Lil Baby, plus his back-to-back releases of Epidemic and State Of Emergency, finally earned him the recognition he deserved following years of hustling. Even with the success, he hasn’t switched up his hustle by unloading new singles on his YouTube page with little to no announcement.

This week, the rapper returned with his latest cut, “Doses.” The rapper’s latest record finds him reflecting on the growth in his career, bossing up, and finally seeing the success of his career. “Showed no love on the price, it was forty-three/ I’m not trappin’ for free, gotta charge a fee,” he raps with auto-tune accentuating the pain in his voice.

Check the latest record from Money Man below.

Boosie Badazz Announces He’s Officially Cancer-Free

Boosie Badazz’s strength and resilience have made him an inspiration for many. His journey has found him with his back against the wall on numerous occasions but still managing to prosper with the odds against him. A few years ago, the rapper faced a major health scare when he revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully, he underwent surgery to remove the kidney cancer which was successful.

Despite the success of the surgery, he’s still making annual trips to the doctor to make sure that he continues to be cancer-free. This morning, he took to Instagram where he revealed that he was at his annual cancer check-up, asking fans to keep him in his prayers as he awaits the results. He later shared a video of himself in the waiting room along with other hospital patients who are also waiting to hear from the doctor.

The prayers worked and Boosie has much to celebrate now that he’s officially been deemed cancer-free. The rapper took to Twitter where he shared the results and thanked everyone for helping him keep his spirits high. “IM CANCER FREE #tearofjoy Thanks to everybody [who] said a prayer for me #GODISGREAT,” he said.

It seems like a better time than any to revisit Young Thug and Quavo’s 2016 collaboration, “Fuck Cancer (Boosie).” We’re glad he’s in good health.
