DaBaby Reaches Settlement In Sucker Punch Lawsuit

DaBaby can finally put his 2020 scuffle to rest, as he officially settled a lawsuit against him according to court documents reportedly obtained by TMZ on Friday (September 27). For those unaware, homeowner Gary Pagar sued him due to a 2020 incident at a music video shoot at Pagar’s house for the Stunna 4 Vegas track “Play You Lay.” What happened was that the rapper allegedly “sucker-punched” Pagar after he complained about music video shoot regulations, eventually bringing about this civil case. Both parties reached a global settlement on all claims and asked the courts to remove future conference dates in order to sign the settlement into existence.

What’s more is that DaBaby has a pretty good excuse to celebrate this settlement, as he just dropped his first project in two years. HOW TF IS THIS A MIXTAPE? is a pretty ambitious question for a record of this nature, and as you’d expect, it’s filled with his typical style and some more fiery verses. We wonder whether the Charlotte MC has more plans for 2024 as far as career moves or extracurriculars. After all, he’s in a place where he can pretty much do as he pleases.

Elsewhere, DaBaby is making headlines for his brash, prompt, and savage reactions to the whole Diddy scandal. Specifically, he pulled a master troll move for one of his upcoming music videos, which is ironic considering the lawsuit that he just settled. Nevertheless, Baby bought a whole bunch of baby oil for the visual, referencing the alleged hundreds of bottles of the substance that federal officials found while raiding Sean Combs’ Miami and Los Angeles properties. He still hasn’t lost that provocative and jester-like tone, has he?

Meanwhile, DaBaby continues to be confrontational in his music, not just in his social media antics or extracurricular antics. He seemingly launched a diss track against his ex DaniLeigh’s brother over the relative’s lawsuit against him. Maybe 2025 will hold less of these courtroom developments in the 32-year-old’s life and career. But one thing’s for sure: he will respond scathingly whether it’s a trial motion or an Internet jab.

Summrs Drops Energetic “You Mind?” Ahead Of New Album

Summrs is an emerging rapper and singer from Lafayette, Louisiana. He debuted in 2017 as part of the boom in SoundCloud’s underground rap scene, but he did not ascend as quickly as some of his contemporaries. He did, however, emerge as a key figure in the “plugg” subgenre, a style of music that blends ethereal, often spacey beats with melodic flows and lyrics that range from introspective to bashful. That style eventually spun off into rage music, which is the sound that Playboi Carti and many of the rappers signed to his Opium label are currently at the forefront of creating.

Summrs continues to release music prolifically despite not quite catching on in the same way that other SoundCloud success stories did (which is not to say that he’s done poorly, as he still has over a million monthly listeners on Spotify), coming out with the prequel project B4DARAVEN in April, his tenth overall. Following this, he released the single “You Mind?” on September 26. The new track is a teaser for his upcoming fifth studio album, TALE OF DA RAVEN, which is set for a 2024 release. It’s a trademark Summrs release, with production that fans may closely associate with someone like Destroy Lonely. Summrs himself takes inspiration from NBA Youngboy, Chief Keef, and others. The Youngboy influence is particularly noticeable on this track, delivering his braggodocious verse similarly emphatically to many Youngboy verses. It’s a quick, energetic track that’ll sound good in a party setting. Check it out.

Wack 100 Accuses Drake Of Sending Kendrick Lamar Cease And Desist Over Super Bowl Performance

Earlier this month, Kendrick Lamar announced that he’ll be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans in February. Many consider this to be the cherry on top of an already massively successful few months for the Compton rapper. He went head to head with Drake in a viral lyrical battle, and ultimately came out on top with tracks like “Euphoria” and of course, “Not Like Us.”

According to Wack 100, however, he may not actually get the opportunity to perform the smash hit at the event. On Clubhouse recently, he even alleged that Drake sent Kendrick a cease and desist in order to prevent it. At this point, this claim is completely unconfirmed, though anyone could understand why he may not want him to perform the song.

Wack 100 Discusses Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

Famously, Kendrick accuses Drake and his OVO crew of being pedophiles on it. This is probably not an allegation Drake wants to be thrown around more than it already has been amid the feud, and might explain the alleged cease and desist. It’s not the first time someone has theorized that Drake’s already taken legal action over the upcoming performance either. Earlier this month, Charlamagne Tha God shared a similar theory. His suspicion, however, is that Drake allegedly took legal action only to prevent Kendrick from accusing him of being a pedophile onstage.

“If he does ‘Not Like Us’ at the Super Bowl, I want the opening cords and then just the hook,” he said at the time. “If you think that the NFL and Roc Nation and a bunch of other people didn’t get a whole bunch of legal letters yesterday from people with owls as their stamp. I promise you, you’re not calling me a pedophile at the Super Bowl. I guarantee you, the OVO people sent so many legal letters yesterday.” What do you think of Wack 100 accusing Drake of sending Kendrick Lamar a cease and desist to prevent him from performing “Not Like Us” during the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February? Elisabeth Ovesen AKA Superhead Divulges On Her Experiences With Diddy

The slew of allegations against Diddy amid his federal indictment continue to roll in, and the hip-hop world and beyond is reacting in shocked fashion. However, some other testimonies about his alleged behavior don’t follow the exact same accusations of alleged misconduct. For example, Elisabeth Ovesen, the former video vixen and author better known as Karrine Steffans or Superhead, recently spoke to The Daily Beast about her experiences with the Bad Boy mogul. She claimed that another music executive “gifted” her to him after his breakup with Jennifer Lopez in 2001, and they allegedly met at a nightclub at around 3AM.

Furthermore, Ovesen claims that Diddy ordered his colleagues to “send [her] to [his] house.” “I got the order to go to his house, and that was the first time he and I spent time,” she shared. “I realized that I was given to him as a gift by another executive.” However, the author also stated that she knew what she was getting into with Diddy and what he expected from her, so she doesn’t self-identify as a victim. “You choose your pill, you take your champagne, and that’s your vibe for the night,” she posited. “It’s f***ing intense. And that was kind of a scene.”

Elisabeth Ovesen Speaks On Diddy

In addition, Elisabeth Ovesen recalled another party at Diddy’s mansion at Star Island in Miami, describing it as feeling like The Great Gatsby. “Men in tuxedos, and topless women in angel wings, champagne and synchronized swimmers on the outside, with group sex in the bathrooms, trays of hors d’oeuvres and drug pills being passed around on the inside,” Ovesen described. In the excerpt of the interview above, she doesn’t offer many other details as to the serious allegations in these various legal moves.

Speaking of which, the latest sexual assault lawsuit to attack Diddy is from an anonymous woman who claims he got her pregnant. Not only that, but she also accused Yung Miami of harassing her to abort his baby. The Jane Doe ended up having a miscarriage. We’ll see what other celebrities and pop culture figures come forward with their own stories.

Dwyane Wade Divides Thirsty Fans And Dismissive Haters Over New Cover Shoot

Dwyane Wade is far more of a divisive pop culture figure than he should be, but he’s still got plenty of supporters looking past the bigoted backlash to his LGBTQIA2+ allyship. If you need proof of that, look no further than the reception to his latest CR Men Fashion Book photoshoot for its cover. Some fans are lusting over the basketball superstar in the comments section, whereas others are making fun of his style and of his previous life choices. There’s a lot of discrimination to unpack, a lot of thirsty comments, and also plenty of debate within the comments section.

Furthermore, Boose Badazz most recently offered his conflicted thoughts on Dwyane Wade, specifically about his nail care brand. “I don’t even got to say nothing,” he said of sexuality rumors that the brand caused. “The world is going to say it. […] I don’t know. I mean… He part of the movement. I mean, I don’t like to say too much about those people because I don’t want that to be in my motherf***ing… When people think of me, they think of that. A lot of people do, but… I just, you know, he do what he do. He feel like that’s how he support his… It make me shake my head. Because, you know, I don’t like that, bro. When… I don’t know. He might be living through… I don’t know, I don’t know.”

Dwyane Wade’s Newest Cover Shoot

Elsewhere, Shaq recently revealed how an argument with Dwyane Wade resulted in an NBA championship. “D-Wade, our first argument was in the Finals,” he told Draymond Green on the Warrior’s podcast. “We go down 0-2. I’m declining as Shaq. I’m going through a divorce. I’m not Shaq. My first three guys are terrible, awful. So I pulled D-Wade in the room and said, ‘What the f**k you gonna do man?’

“‘Motherf***er, you want to be the man, what the f**k you gonna do?’” Shaq recalled. “I wasn’t trying to fight; I was just asking questions. He had a look of relief like, ‘Oh, I can?’ So yeah, motherf***er, I got four people on me.’ And he said, ‘Okay, Shaq.’ And he went off.” As you can see, Dwyane Wade turns any form of pressure into diamonds.
