GloRilla Promises To Deliver A Classic With “Glorious” Debut Album

It’s already been a busy few months for GloRilla, and fortunately for her fans, she has plenty more on the way. Over the summer, The Memphis rapper took part in several high-profile collabs, joined Megan Thee Stallion on her “Hot Girl Summer” tour, and more. Now, she’s gearing up to unleash her debut studio album, Glorious.

The project, which Glo announced earlier this month, is currently slated for release on October 11. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, she dropped “Hollon” last week, which set the bar high. According to her, however, it’s far from the only banger on the album. Earlier today, she took to Twitter/X to reveal that after listening to it in its entirety, she believes it’ll be a classic.

GloRilla’s New Album Glorious Drops On October 11

“Just listen to my album from front to back & wowww i really put together a classic album,” she wrote alongside a series of teary-eyed emojis. Hopefully, the project will live up to the hype. While GloRilla’s supporters are certainly looking forward to hearing what else she has to offer on the new LP, it’s not the only exciting project dropping on the 11th of next month. Rod Wave also announced that his sixth studio album Last Lap is slated for release that day earlier this week, prompting a response.

GloRilla took to his Instagram comments section to make her disapproval apparent and question why he had to choose the same date as her. “WHY DF WOULD YOU DROP ON MY DAY IM FINNA TWEAK OUT,” she wrote at the time. What do you think of GloRilla predicting that her new album will be a classic? Are you looking forward to hearing it when it finally drops next month? What do you think of her new single “Hollon”? Leon Thomas Explains What It Means To Be A “MUTT” On His Second Album

From Nickelodeon’s Victorious to producing and writing for artists like SZA, Drake, Kanye West, and more, Leon Thomas has really seen everything. For some of us at HNHH, it’s hard to disassociate him from his character on the popular kid’s series when he’s writing heavily emotional and explicit tracks. But it just goes to show how much he’s grown in about a decade, and it may be safe to say Leon Thomas is at his most mature on MUTT. Yes, for those who don’t know, the Brooklyn, New York native also has a solo career. This is his second album and a follow-up to 2023’s Electric Dusk.

With this record, Leon Thomas focuses a lot on what his life and love have done to him mentally and emotionally. According to an interview he did with Uproxx, he explains how his dog was a source of inspiration for the themes and its title. “Perfecting that sound and just continuing to tell these stories as I’m a single guy doing my thing, trying to figure it out, trying to find love in a very interesting dating circus that we have right now”, Thomas says. “As I started working on the album in my new home, I began to notice similarities between my dog’s behavior and my own. Even though my dog may sometimes [make mistakes]… I know he means well. This became a metaphor for not being a perfect partner but having good intentions”. Those messages are strong, as are the production and feature choices. Check out MUTT now.

Rihanna Jokingly Compares Being A Boy Mom To An Olympic Sport While Sharing Adorable RZA Clip

Rihanna jokingly compared being the mother of a boy to an Olympic sport in an adorable post featuring her son, RZA, on social media, on Friday. In the video, the 2-year-old acrobatically makes his way out of his playpen. Rihanna played the theme song for Mission Impossible in the background of the video. “Being a boy mom is an Olympic sport,” she wrote in the caption.

The comments section was flooded with laughing emojis from fans. “The way he walked by like nothing happened,” one user wrote. Another posted: “Rza meant he was getting that cup! Determined! Love it!”

Speaking with Interview magazine, earlier this year, Rihanna confirmed that she’d be open to having more kids with ASAP Rocky. “I don’t know what god wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course, if it’s another boy, it’s another boy,” she told the outlet. Regardless, Rihanna has also spoken about how much she enjoys being a boy mom. “It makes me feel really cool to be a boy mom,” she told E! News’ Francesca Amiker at a Fenty Beauty event in April. “Like I get to be as casual and busted as I want to, but it also forces me to embrace the epic things about being a woman, and a female and all my femininity. I embrace it so much more now, like I wear pink. I go between wearing jerseys and like, ‘I’m wearing a dress today! I’m the only one in this house who can do that right now.’”

Rihanna Shares Adorable Video Of RZA

In other news, Rocky is currently gearing up to drop his fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, which he delayed from an August release, last month. Check out the cute clip Rihanna shared of her and Rocky’s son, RZA, below. Be on the lookout for further updates on the couple on HotNewHipHop.

Monaleo Drops Off Her Sophomore LP “Throwing Bows”

Monaleo is one of the many new femcees looking to build a brand on being uber aggressive on all of their tracks. She’s someone who makes music for the ladies, particularly the single ones out there. Some artists that are trying to carve a niche in this area of rap tend to rely on having a unique voice, solid production, and sticky lyrics. The ones that do have pretty large audiences with some of them including GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Latto. Sadly, there is quite a large sum of them out there who are still finding their footing. When it comes to rappers like that, they tend to sound like other’s that are most established.

Sadly, at the moment, Monaleo is coming across as that sort of artist on her latest LP, Throwing Bows. What the Houston native does have is good mic presence, but not enough of a discernable voice. In addition, some of her production choices are head scratchers. “Wam Bam” might be the biggest culprit of this, as the Brittney Spears “Toxic” has no place in a song this off the wall. Songs like this one, as well as “Ee-er” and “Flush Em”, have annoyingly repetitive choruses to the point where they come across as lazy. Overall, it’s still early for Monaleo. But for us, there’s too many miscues across the board here.

Lecrae Apologizes To J Cole For Drunken First Encounter

During a recent appearance on the New Rory and Mal podcast, Lecrae recalled his first time ever meeting J Cole. According to him, they had run into each other at a Super Bowl party, where he had a few too many drinks. Unfortunately, he says this resulted in an encounter so awkward that he woke up the next morning with serious regrets.

“I see Cole, I go up to Cole and I’m like, ‘Yo, what’s up, man?’ And he’s like, ‘What’s going on, bro?” he recalled. “I said, ‘Let me ask you a question, man. You believe in God?’ He was like, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Word? So you go to church?’ He said, ‘I grew up in church but I really wouldn’t say that [I’m a Christian].’”

Lecrae Tried To Tell J Cole About Jesus While Drunk

From there, Lecrae decided that he needed to give J Cole his number so he could spread the word. “You need to call me, bro. Let’s talk!” he said. “It gets worse. [He was like] ‘Alright, put your number in my phone.’ So I put my number in his phone, but I didn’t type my name and then I gave him his phone back, and he walks away.” Lecrae then realized his mistake and stopped J Cole in his tracks. “I said, ‘Wait a minute! I ain’t even tell you my name, bro.’ He said, ‘I know who you are.’ I was like, ‘Oh!’ and I walked the walk of shame.”

Ultimately, Lecrae woke up the next day embarrassed by his behavior. “The next morning I was like, ‘Oh my God! What did I do?! What did I say?!’ So Cole, if you watching this, I apologize for the way I approached you,” he concluded. How do you feel about Lecrae revealing that being drunk resulted in an awkward first encounter with J Cole? J Cole & Tee Grizzley Go “Blow For Blow” On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Our latest Fire Emoji playlist update this week may not be the most stacked in our catalog, but this week in rap music held some truly standout collaborations that we’d be remiss not to highlight. First up is the new single from Tee Grizzley and J. Cole, “Blow For Blow.” It’s a pretty chilled-out but still hard-hitting team-up thanks to some icy and mellow keys plus a rattling and bouncy Detroit drum pattern. As far as verses, both MCs switch between multiple flows to deliver charismatic bars in engaging fashion. It’s an unexpected link-u[, but nonetheless a fulfilling and skillful display.

Another blockbuster drop on our Fire Emoji playlist update is the long-awaited and latest collaboration between The Weeknd and Playboi Carti, “Timeless.” Despite its title, the track sounds deeply rooted in today’s moody trap and R&B fusions, bolstered by rubbery and futuristic synths and bass tones, a simple percussive treatment, and some sharp, quick, and confident deliveries from both artists. Carti kicks us off with a dynamic delivery that sounds like he’s featuring an alternate version of himself on the song, whereas Abel Tesfaye comes through with some expectedly angelic vocals.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist: Stream

Next up is a trunk-knocking 2000s-era Pharrell-style throwback from Maxo Kream and Tyler, The Creator, “Cracc Era.” A lot of folks online have compared it to how the Neptunes producer meshed so well with rappers like Slim Thug and Clipse. It’s not hard to see why: the deep and bass-heavy beat only need some buzzing shots of synth to keep both lyricists focused while the rough drums give the cut a funky and stankface-inducing flow. In fact, some die-hards out there (including Maxo himself) think that this is a perfect recipe for a collab album.

Meanwhile, Young Thug and Nigo joined forces for the jittery, high-speed, and boisterous “Dope Boy.” Finally, we wanted to shout out Meek Mill for the slightly reflective and passionate new single “ROBBIE SON.” Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, come back to HNHH for the best rap releases around the clock.

Taye Diggs Admits Diddy Was A “Hero” To Him Before Disturbing Allegations

Earlier this month, Diddy was arrested in New York City after facing several disturbing allegations and lawsuits this year. The Bad Boy Records founder was hit with various charges, which he could reportedly face up to life in prison for if found guilty. His arrest didn’t necessarily come as a huge shock to most, considering he’s been under intense scrutiny for his past for a while.

It was still a significant development in the mogul’s case, however, and took some people by surprise. During his recent appearance on the Sibling Revelry podcast, for example, Taye Diggs opened up about Diddy’s influence on him and how he felt when he heard about his arrest. According to him, he was taken completely off guard.

Taye Diggs Claims He Put Diddy On A “Pedestal” Prior To Scandal

I felt so naive when I heard all that stuff because I was… I don’t know where I was, but all of it blindsided me,” he explained. “He was a hero to me. I loved how he… he didn’t come from much, he started out as a dancer. All the things that I wasn’t, growing up, he was. He had so much confidence and a certain arrogance that I loved and he made being Black cool.” Diggs continued, describing how he was disappointed upon hearing the news.

“I really put him on a pedestal and it was disappointing to see some of what happened. I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “And I didn’t like that feeling.” What do you think of Taye Diggs speaking on Diddy’s ongoing legal battle during a recent appearance on the Sibling Revelry podcast? What about him claiming that Diddy was once a “hero” to him? Are you surprised by this or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Kanye West Announced His Next Solo Album ‘Bully’ Before Debuting Its Featured Track ‘Beauty And The Beast’

Has Ye (more commonly known as Kanye West) abandoned the rumored Vultures 3 project with Ty Dolla Sign? Well, that the question fans of the musical duo are asking themselves today (September 28).

During the “Talking/Once Again” rapper’s latest concert in Haikou, China, he announced his next solo studio album. In front of the packed Wuyuan River Stadium crowd, Kanye West confirmed that his next back of work, Bully, will be released soon.

“I got a new album coming out,” he said. “The album’s called ‘Bully,’ and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.’”

In the video captured by concertgoers. (viewable here), Kanye West then graciously debuted the track. “I still think about it every night and day to try to stay away, to keep my audience / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to redirect,” sings West.

Fans immediately began to look for clues regarding the forthcoming project. The first sprinkle of information came from Mike Dean, a longtime collaborator of Kanye West. Over on Instagram (viewable here), the producer seemed to confirm support theories that West would be reworking vaulted songs, by writing: “Donda leftover.”

Ordinarily the comment could come off as passive-aggressive (especially considering their history), but keeping in mind the supposed mountain of legal blowback from his Vultures album pulling from his own work might be best. However, the 2021 album also faced copyright infringement lawsuits.

No updates were provided regarding the future of Vultures 3.
