Casanova Reveals Tory Lanez Sent Him Money During His Federal Case

Casanova and Tory Lanez don’t have much of a musical history together. They only collaborated on the 2019 single “2am,” but their careers have followed similar tragic patterns. The rapper and singer have been sentenced to over a decade in prison. Casanova for racketeering and narcotics charges, Tory Lanez for first degree assault with a firearm. Casanova recently shed light on his situation via social media, and he revealed that there is actually another link between him and Lanez.

Apparently, Tory Lanez helped Casanova out financially during his federal case. The latter claimed that Lanez gave him a sizable chunk of money during his trial, since he was unable to go out and make any money of his own. He did this despite being in the midst of a trial himself. “@ToryLanez you one of the realest n**gas I ever met,” Casanova wrote on his IG Story. “How you in jail looking out for a n**ga in jail.” Casanova then claimed that Lanez set up him up financially for a year without asking for a lot in return.

Casanova Dubbed Tory Lanez The “Realest” Artist He Knew

“Sent me enough money to last me for a whole year lol,” the rapper added. “I love ya heart, I love ya soul. Free us til you see us!” This appreciation was a far cry from the interaction that Casanova and Lanez had back in 2022. The former rolled up on the latter at a club in New Jersey and approached him, announcing that Lanez was “outside.” The Toronto singer looked spooked until he realized it was Casanova making these claims. There was also some speculation that there may be drama between Casanova and Lanez due to the fact that Casanova is signed to Roc Nation. This is the same record label that Lanez’s victim, Megan Thee Stallion, is on.

Casanova and Tory Lanez are going to be behind bars for a long time. Casanova was sentenced to 15 years and eight months in prison, while Lanez was sentenced to 10 years. Lanez has tried to stay active by starting the Prison Tapes series, but it was cut short when his recording material was confiscated. He later blamed the confiscation on the fact that he was “helping” other inmates. “They figured out what I was really doing with the Prison Tapes,” he said on IG. “And how many inmates were being helped in a life-changing way because of them.” Casanova can seemingly attest to Lanez’s ability to help inmates.

Kanye West Teases New Single “Preacher Man” From Upcoming Album

Kanye West is at all-time low when it comes to musical output. VULTURES 1 and VULTURES 2 are the consensus picks for worst albums of his career. The rapper has clearly lost the plot with regards to his musical focus, resulting in albums that were pieced together seemingly in real time. That said, West has seemingly regained focus in recent months. Since VULTURES 2, the rapper has played a well-received show in Korea. He also performed in China. And now he’s hinting at the release of a brand new single called “Preacher Man.”

Kanye West performed “Preacher Man” during the Korean show, and he reposted an image from the show on his Instagram. He also dropped the title of the song in the caption, suggesting that fans will get a chance to hear a CDQ version of the song in the near future. That’s the best case scenario, at least. Ye has become a model of inconsistency when it comes to sticking to a plan. That said, “Preacher Man” is a promising sound for a new album. The production is wistful and stripped down. A single vocal sample is the basis of the whole instrumental.

Kanye West Hinted At The Song’s Release On IG

Then there’s the rapping. Kanye West has not had the strongest pen game over the last decade, despite harnessing the talents of multiple songwriters. There are songs on VULTURES 2 in which he humbles his way through verses as though he left reference tracks in. There were also claims that he used AI to fill in gaps where he failed to rap. Conversely, West is rapping clearly and coherently on “Preacher Man.” It’s a surprise to hear, albeit a nice one.

Kanye West is rumored to be working on a new solo album. While the jury is still out on VULTURES 3, the Channel Candy CEO claimed that the rapper was pleased with the reception to his Korean concert. West is reportedly channeling this newfound inspiration into a fresh body of work. We can only hope it comes together more smoothly and seamlessly than we we’ve gotten from the rapper since, well, 2018. On the other hand, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign just debuted a “Thousand Miles” remix that has fans baffled.

Rich Homie Quan Releases Heartfelt Posthumous Single “Song Cry”

Rich Homie Quan died far too soon. The rapper passed on September 4 at the age of 34. He leaves behind a storied legacy of 2010s hits and scene-stealing guest verses. He had more music in the vault, however. Rich Homie Quan’s first posthumous single, “Song Cry,” has been released. It’s unclear if the song is meant to spearhead an entire posthumous album, but it’s a tender song that proves doubly hard to listen to given the rapper is no longer with us.

“Song Cry” is as somber and emotional as its title suggests. Rich Homie Quan even addresses the way his biggest songs are perceived, and urges listeners to take this particular release more seriously. It’s not hard to see why. The beat, which is driven by a tinkling piano and a driving drum pattern, sees Quan lean into the more strained parts of his vocals. He’s really laying his feelings and his singing voice bare while he raps about the difficult things he endured during his life. “This a song cry, I know you hear that sh*t,” he says during the pre-chorus. “Listen to the song cry. You gotta feel that sh*t.” Rich Homie Quan even sounds like his former Rich Gang partner, Young Thug, at times during the song.

BREAKING: Diddy Taken Into FBI Field Office In NYC

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Rebrands Combs Enterprises to Combs Global as Business Portfolio Expands

According to several confirmed reports, Bad Boy mogul Sean “Dddy” Combs has been taken into federal custody in New York today(September 16). Reports state that the troubled music exec was taken into the FBI field office in Manhattan.

The detainment is reportedly connected to the ongoing federal investigation into alleged sex trafficking that led to the FBI and ATF raids on his Los Angeles and Miami mansions earlier this summer.

Marc Agnifilo, attorney for Combs, stated to TMZ, “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sean “Diddy” Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community.” Agnifilo adeds, “He is an imperfect person but is not criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

For years, Dame Dash has led both a public and legal battle with his former business partner Jay-Z. Recently, Dame claimed to have made headway in offloading a piece of hip-hop history.

According to Dame Dash, his plan to sell his share of Jay-Z’s highly acclaimed debut album, Reasonable Doubt. During a recent appearance on America Nu Network (viewable here), Dame even claimed that Drake expressed interest in purchasing his stake. However, there appears to be some confusion over who actually owns the shares. Continue below for more information.

Can Dame Dash Actually Sell His Share Of Jay-Z’s ‘Reasonable Doubt?’

Based on an investigative piece conducted by Rolling Stone‘s Andre Gee (viewable here), Dame Dash doesn’t appear to be the rightful owner of the stake. Technically speaking, Dame Dash can not sell his stakes. According to the outlet, in order to “satisfy an $823K judgment” in his Josh Webber and Muddy Waters Films lawsuit, Dame was ordered to turn over his shares of Roc-A-Fella Inc (which own stake in Jay-Z’s album) over to the US Marshals.

Now, Christopher Brown, the attorney of Webber seemingly controls the stakes as in an effort to recoup the judgment on behalf of his client. So, it appears that the reports of an auction supposedly held on August 29 might have been true. But, Dame Dash having a deciding factor is allegedly a fallacy.
