Miley Cyrus Accused of Copying Bruno Mars ‘Flowers’ In New Lawsuit

Yet again, Miley Cyrus is facing a new lawsuit alleging copyright infringement. This time, her 2023 hit song “Flowers” allegedly intentionally copied elements of Bruno Mars’ 2012 track “When I Was Your Man.” Yikes.

Get this, the lawsuit was filed by Tempo Music Investments, which claims to hold a share of the copyright for Mars’ song, though Mars himself is not listed as a plaintiff.

Okay so according to the suit, Tempo Music Investments claims that “Flowers” borrows from “When I Was Your Man” in terms of melody, harmony, and chord progressions. The company argues, “It is undeniable based on the combination and number of similarities between the two recordings that ‘Flowers’ would not exist without ‘When I Was Your Man.’” They are seeking an unspecified amount in damages and are also demanding that Cyrus be prohibited from performing or distributing “Flowers” in the future.

As for Cyrus, the pop star has not yet publicly responded to the lawsuit, and representatives for both Cyrus and Mars have not issued comments.

What’s more is this lawsuit marks the fourth time Cyrus has faced accusations of copyright infringement. In March 2018, Jamaican artist Michael May, known as Flourgon, claimed that Cyrus’ 2013 song “We Can’t Stop” used lyrics similar to his 1988 track “We Run Things.” May alleged that the song “misappropriated” his “musical composition/lyrical phrase” and sought $300 million in damages. The case was eventually settled out of court in 2020.

Back in September 2018, another lawsuit was filed against Cyrus and Universal Music by Ariella Asher, known as Yella the Triple Threat. She alleged that the song “23” by Mike Will Made It, which featured Cyrus, had an “infringing composition” on her 2012 song “J’s On My Feet.” This lawsuit was dropped two months later, in November 2018.

Oh but wait, Cyrus was also sued in September 2022 by photographer Robert Barbera after she posted a photo of herself on Instagram. Barbera argued that Cyrus did not own the rights to the image and that her sharing it with her large Instagram following “crippled if not destroyed the potentiality of any market for the Photograph by Plaintiff.” This lawsuit was settled in October 2022 and dismissed “with prejudice,” preventing Barbera from refiling the claim in the same court.

Looks like lawyer fees are going to start piling up.

Sean "Diddy" Combs to Receive Global Icon Award and Perform at 2023 "VMAs"

The full indictment against Sean “Diddy” Combs has been made available online, shedding light on the extensive allegations against him following the March 2024 raids of his Miami and Los Angeles homes. According to the indictment, law enforcement officials seized “various Freak Off supplies,” including narcotics and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.

The indictment describes the “Freak Off” events as “elaborate and produced sex performances” that Combs orchestrated, directed, and participated in, often recording these activities electronically. It also notes that Diddy had IV fluids on hand for recovery from drug use.

Diddy faces serious drug charges, including intent to distribute cocaine, oxycodone, Xanax, CHB, MDMA, and ketamine. Additionally, authorities found three AR-15 rifles with scrubbed serial numbers and a drum magazine in his possession.

The indictment spans from 2008 to the present and includes allegations against Combs’ business associates for illegal activities such as sex trafficking, forced labor, interstate transportation for prostitution, coercion, and other offenses. The document suggests that Combs’ company, initially established for media and entertainment, also facilitated his sexual gratification.

Diddy remains in custody and is scheduled to have his charges read in court on Tuesday. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has vowed to “fight like hell” to secure bail for the music mogul.

Diddy Allegedly Had Three Defaced AR-15 Rifles Seized From Both Home Raids

Diddy’s arrest is perhaps going to be one of the most extensive in recent memory. There is still so much to uncover surrounding this ongoing case, but today is certainly giving everyone a lot to discuss. What we know is that the rapper and entrepreneur has been indicted for “racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution”. The alleged acts began taking place in 2008 and within the documents it says that all of this was to create some sort of criminal enterprise. Furthermore, this was all supposedly done through “prostitution, coercion and enticement to engage in prostitution, narcotics offenses, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice”.

We can surmise that the alleged weapons seized during the home raids were a part of this master plan. These were just some of the items taken by Homeland Security, and there’s apparently photo evidence of them. In an X post from world-renowned legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, she was able to obtain video footage from the press conference held after the unsealing of the indictment. U.S. attorney Damian Williams was the one responsible for addressing the public and revealing this new information.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams Has Photo Evidence Of Diddy’s Weapons

Mr. Williams says that during the raids, federal agents allegedly came away with “firearms and ammunition”. “Three defaced AR-15s and the large capacity drum magazine” were the specific weaponry seized. Then, Williams walks over to the pictures taken of said items that were allegedly in Diddy’s possession. They do in fact show the drum magazine, extra bullets, pieces of the AR-15s, as well as close-ups of them with the serial numbers removed. However, as we said earlier, this is just the start. 50 Cent Clowns Diddy For His Alleged Egregious Use Of Baby Oil

50 Cent is someone who has taken shots at Diddy at every single opportunity. Overall, it is one of his favorite pastimes. It is something that he has been able to do quite a bit lately thanks to the various allegations surrounding the music mogul. In fact, earlier today, Diddy was officially indicted on charges of kidnapping, racketeering, and even sex trafficking. The indictment alleges that Diddy was operating a massive criminal organization that sought to traffic women for sex and to also engage in alleged drug operations.

Throughout the indictment, there are all sorts of passages about the alleged evidence that was obtained during the infamous raids back in March. One piece of evidence has the entire world talking right now. Of course, we are talking about the alleged 1000 bottles of baby oil lubricant that were confiscated. The state claims this lubricant was stocked at various hotels where Diddy and associates would allegedly engage in the “freak offs.” Now, 50 Cent is taking aim at Diddy in the only way he knows how.

Diddy’s alleged “freak off” parties left victims needing to receive an IV afterward, according to the 14-page federal indictment published against him on Tuesday. Authorities claim the Bad Boy mogul lured in women under the “pretense of a romantic relationship” before getting them to participate in the event, whether by pressuring them or giving them controlled substances.

As published by TMZ, the indictment claims: “During Freak Offs, COMBS distributed a variety of controlled substances to victims, in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant. Sometimes unbeknownst to the victims, COMBS kept videos he filmed of victims engaging in sex acts with commercial sex workers. After Freak Offs, COMBS and the victims typically received IV fluids to recover from the physical exertion and drug use.”

Diddy has already vehemently denied all of the claims against him and plans to plead not guilty to the charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. “I expect a long battle for the good result for Mr. Combs,” his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, told reporters outside of the courthouse on Tuesday. “I’m gonna fight like hell to get him released and he should be released with all that he’s done and coming here voluntarily.”

Ever since the viral Shannon Sharpe sex tape “accident”, some people online have been incredibly skeptical. One of those is rapper and sports talk host, Cam’ron. The de facto leader of the It Is What It Is program has raised questions, essentially asking how Shannon did this by mistake and why would he do such a thing. Overall, he feels that it was completely staged, and that the ex-NFL tight end was looking to go viral again. The Club Shay Shay founder has vehemently denied that was the case on multiple occasions. But Cam’ron didn’t stop there with Shannon Sharpe. Not too long ago, he recreated the wild incident by “having sex in a car”, which got more unbelievable by the second.

However, the Dipset MC is done teasing the ESPN employee now. Instead, him and the rest of his panel are feeling some type of way about some recent comments that Sharpe made. The latter was addressing all of the people (including Cam indirectly) that were claiming this sex tape was done on purpose. Essentially, Shannon doesn’t understand why others are coming to this conclusion. Especially when he knows he could lose tons of money from sponsors and advertisers for his podcast. He says he could understand the skepticism if his platform was trying to gain a bigger audience. But otherwise, he’s not trying to hear that.
