Drake Playfully Cites Joe Budden And Duke Dennis As His Selfie “Influences”

Drake’s selfie face has become a renewable source of comedy for fans and haters alike. Everybody has seen a Drake photo and thought, “he’s doing too much.” The rapper knows this, and he decided to have some fun with his selfie reputation on Wednesday night. Drizzy hopped on his main Instagram profile for the first time in over a week to post some new selfies. What looked like a typical photo drop, though, was actually a means of poking fun at the men who “influenced” his style.

The first photo sees Drake doing another dramatic selfie face in a mirror. The second, though, is of Duke Dennis. Yes, the gaming YouTuber. The third photo is of Joe Budden. Yes, the rapper-turned-podcaster who has been beefing with Drake for the better part of a decade and a half. Drizzy made sure to choose photos in which Dennis and Budden are giving the camera their most “seductive” face. The photos are made all the more hilarious by the fact that Drake follows them up with two photos of himself looking, well, ridiculous with similar facial expression.

Drake Made Fun Of His Own Mirror Selfies

The caption that the 6 God attaches to these photos says it all. “I’m not aware of my picture or mirror face,” he writes. “It’s a curse from birth and I’m influenced by what I see.” It’s safe to say that nobody was expecting Drake to post photos of Duke Dennis and Joe Budden of all people. Not really the guys who come to mind when thinking of the rapper’s influences (Budden musically, but still). Duke Dennis has reacted to a lot of Drake songs, like most YouTubers, but the two have never publicly interacted. It just goes to show that the 6 God really likes to spend time online when he’s not recording or dropping 100 Gigs on our headtops.

Drake’s decision to post Joe Budden is intriguing, given the podcaster’s recent comments. The two men have never seen eye to eye, but Budden praised Drake during a recent pod. He felt like Drake was doing a good job of recovering after losing the Kendrick Lamar battle. He went as far as to say that he liked the last batch of songs Drizzy dropped on his 100 Gigs site. Drake has been charitable with another former enemy, Kanye West, by giving him a recent Instagram follow. Maybe the same thing is happening with Budden. It’s probably just a troll, though.

MGK Blames White Fans For Stigmatizing White Artists In Hip Hop

MGK had a lot to say during his appearance on the Impaulsive podcast. He popped off on UFC star Sean Strickland, which we covered in detail here. The rapper also had a bone to pick with a specific subsect of his fans. MGK feels that white rappers are unfairly stigmatized, and the group of people who are to blame are, well, white. He cited various instances throughout his career in which he was made to feel unworthy or less lyrical than his African American peers. He claimed that the people who made him feel that way were the same color as him.

“I won’t deny that there is a subconscious stigma around that, being white in hip hop,” MGK noted. His answer did catch the Impaulsive hosts off guard, however. “To me, it’s so funny because the streets f*ck with me so tough. It’s honestly from other white people that give me the most sh*t.” MGK then said that his goal was to be able to overcome this stigma. He claims he did, but it did, admittedly, take moving to another genre for a couple of albums before coming back with new bars. “That’s the goal,” he stated. “And to me, I crossed that.”

MGK Cites Eminem As An Exception To The Rule

It’s not an MGK interview if there’s not some mention of Eminem, though. The rapper has a complex relationship with Slim Shady, and it’s safe to say the complexities are reciprocated. Eminem did, after all, reference MGK on his new album. He also joked about the rapper sleeping with his mom. But we digress. MGK pointed to Em as a rare instance of a white emcee being embraced by white and Black fans alike. “The crazy thing is, there’s only been one who’s done it,” MGK asserted. “There’s only been one who’s done it and crossed that line of ‘we accept.’”

This is not the first time MGK has waxed poetic about whiteness in hip hop. During a 2022 interview with DJ Semtex, he pointed to his appearance as a hindrance. “[I] feel like right now, my biggest hindrance in why you don’t hear things like, ‘MGK is lyrically hot’…[is] the white thing,” he claimed. “Mixed with the fact that I don’t dress like the normal Hip Hop person.” The rapper’s recent discussion of the topic on Impaulsive definitely had a bit more tact. Not much, but a bit more.

Big Sean Drops Two New Songs On Soundcloud Ahead Of Album Release

Big Sean is ready to share his new album with fans. The rapper has been through a lot to get Better Me Than You made. He had to struggle through album leaks, personal setbacks, and health scares. He even considered delaying the album and reworking what he already had. In a recent Instagram Live, however, Big Sean confirmed that he would be giving the album to the fans in its original form. It turns out, Sean is giving us two new songs in advance as well. The rapper shocked Soundcloud users on Wednesday night by dropping a pair of Better Me Than You standouts.

The first song, “Fighting Fires” was teased as a Kanye West collab. Big Sean previewed the song way back in July, but West is no longer on it. The new version gives fans an update on where the rapper is at in his life. Big Sean raps hard over a soulful, drumless beat, reflecting on his career and how he stacks up against peers. It has a mature feel, which aligns with the way that Big Sean has been moving during the Better Me Than You rollout. It really seems like he’s moving differently than he was when he was younger. A song like “Fighting Fires” is sonic proof.

“Fighting Fires” Sees Big Sean Repurpose A Ye Beat

“Dirty Work” has a similar feel to “Fighting Fires.” There are drums, but both songs are built around a chill soul sample that lends levity to Big Sean’s words. Once again, there’s a lyrical focus on legacy, and what has really become important to the rapper the older he’s gotten. The title refers to the difficult things one needs to do to progress as a person. Sean repeatedly notes that he’s willing to do the “dirty work.” Both “Fighting Fires” and “Dirty Work” are missing from the leaked Better Me Than You tracklist. That said, it could be a case of Big Sean simply reworking the titles.

Big Sean’s rollout has been unorthodox, but his excitement to share music with fans shines through. It’s something he talked about during the aforementioned live stream. “I’m excited, and that’s one thing that my mom said,” he relayed. “She said, ‘Get excited.’ Like, ‘Drop your album; it’s fire.’ I appreciate my mom for being that guardian angel always giving me that advice. She really talked me through it for real.” We can’t wait to hear the full album when it officially drops on August 30.

Destroy Lonely Reveals Tracklist For New Album “Love Lasts Forever”

Destroy Lonely is on the cusp of dropping something big. The rapper has been teasing his second album, Love Lasts Forever, since February 2022. Destroy Lonely’s profile has risen steadily since, which means the anticipation for a new album is bigger than ever. There was even speculation that established names like Big Sean and A$AP Rocky avoided dropping on the same day as him. Regardless of the truth, the hype is real, and the tracklist for Love Lasts Forever is finally here.

The first thing that jumps out about the tracklist is the length. Love Lasts Forever is not a short album, at 21 songs, but it’s somehow shorter than Destroy Lonely’s debut. There appears to be more of a focus on conciseness. The other notable thing about the tracklist is that there are very few features. It’s generally assumed that any high profile hip hop release is going to be loaded with guests. No Lonely’s. Destroy Lonely held down his massive debut all by himself, with only a Ken Carson assist on the deluxe version. It seems like he’s going to keep it simple again on Love Lasts Forever. The only two features will be Carson and Lil Uzi Vert.

Are you looking forward to hearing Destroy Lonely’s upcoming album? What do you think of the tracklist so far? Which feature are you most excited about? How are you liking his new track? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

DJ Akademiks Reveals Why NBA YoungBoy Was Arrested By SWAT Team

Earlier this year, NBA YoungBoy was arrested at his Utah home for his role in an alleged prescription drug fraud scheme. He’s been behind bars ever since, and reportedly, could be looking at a lengthy prison sentence. At the time of his arrest, YB was already on house arrest, awaiting trial for a federal weapons charge.

Last week, the rapper was hit with yet another gun charge after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. “I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged, to consent to the disposition of the case in the District of Utah in which I am present and to wave trial in the [Middle District of Louisiana],” his court filing read. His next court hearing is scheduled for September 4.

During a recent livestream, DJ Akademiks discussed NBA YoungBoy’s ongoing legal issues, going back to his April arrest. According to the personality, a SWAT team was sent to arrest the 24-year-old. He claims this is because authorities thought they could be in for a fight. “Remember I told you, he got a militia up there, right?” Akademiks explained. “When they to go arrest him, they had to go with SWAT. All type of agencies because, again, not that this would happen, but technically, YB had enough firepower on that God damn mountain to do a nice ol’ standoff. Barricade or not, and probably would do decently in a shootout versus just regular police.”

Reportedly, NBA YoungBoy could face up to ten years behind bars, fines, and a period of supervised release for his alleged crimes. What do you think of DJ Akademiks claiming that a SWAT team was sent to arrest NBA YoungBoy this year? What about his explanation for why it played out this way? DJ Akademiks Gets Obliterated By YouTuber Over Culture Vulture Claims

This all started over a rapper’s death. Ybc Dul aka Mr. Disrespectful was killed on August 26, and a YouTuber named Brandon Buckingham posted an interview with the rapper a day before. DJ Akademiks reacted to said interview, and did not like what he saw. He went on Twitch and accused Buckingham of exploiting Ybc Dul’s death for views. He dubbed Buckingham a “white boy voyeuristic” type, and went on to name other white YouTubers who actually “care about the culture.” Buckingham saw these comments, and proceeded to blow up on DJ Akademiks.

Brandon Buckingham posted a statement to his Twitter account. It’s not delicately worded. He proceeds to insult DJ Akademiks in the first sentence, calling him a “fat drunk p**sy.” He also defended his passion for hip hop as a culture. “Akademiks is really a fat drunk p**sy for running right to his little stream after Dul died to say I’m not for the culture,” Buckingham wrote. Buckingham them aimed criticisms back at Akademiks. “His woman beating bald head a*s sits on a computer all day and is afraid to go any hood anywhere.”

Brandon Buckingham Crashes Out On DJ Akademiks

Brandon Buckingham then flipped DJ Akademiks’ point of reference. Instead of comparing himself to other white YouTubers, he compared himself favorably to Ak. With disrespect, of course. “Stay inside and keep talking sh*t from the comfort of your home,” Buckingham added. “We are both civilians and I have ten times the heart as your b*tch a*s.” The irony, of course, is that DJ Akademiks has been accused of the very same thing he accused Buckingham of. The internet personality has been criticized for using violence and the deaths of rappers to bolster his own fame.

In 2022, music video director Spike Tarantino called out DJ Akademiks for his coverage of Kay Flock’s murder. He claimed Ak did little to cover the rapper during his lifetime, but proceeded to act like he was an expect after Flock was killed. Akademiks has also been saddled with legal troubles in recent months. The DJ was sued for rape and defamation in April. Fauziya Abashe claims that was taken advantage of multiple times at Akademiks’ home. The internet personality denies the allegations.

50 Cent Clowns Irv Gotti For Having A Stroke

During a recent episode of his podcast, Wack 100 claimed that Irv Gotti suffered a stroke several months ago. He went on to share a photo of Gotti walking with a cane on Instagram, which quickly made its rounds online. His rep later confirmed the news in a statement to TMZ, revealing that he’s since made a full recovery, and is not back home with his loved ones.

“Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago,” the statement begins. “He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”

50 Cent Mocks Irv Gotti Amid News Of His Health Scare

Most commenters called Wack 100 out for being insensitive, but evidently, he’s not the only one. His longtime foe 50 Cent took to Instagram today to share his take on the debacle, making it clear that he doesn’t have much sympathy. “👀Damn homie, in high school you was the man homie, WTF happened to you?” he captioned the aforementioned photo of Gotti using a cane. “I want Irv to get well, 🤨so he can have to watch my next wave 🌊 LOL 🎥 @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

This isn’t the only time Fif’s gone after Gotti on Instagram, however. Last month, he reacted to news of Gotti getting sued for alleged sexual assault, claiming that “the legal fees are gonna break his a** half, he ain’t got no money.” What do you think of 50 Cent trolling Irv Gotti in response to news of his stroke? Do you think he crossed the line or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

MGK Bashes Sean Strickland During Podcast And The UFC Star Claps Back

MGK likes to pick fights. He’s been a confrontational artist since day one, and the biggest moment of his career, the Eminem beef, stemmed from this quality. It should come as no surprise, then, that MGK had a lot to say about UFC star Sean Strickland. He went off during when asked about Strickland during a stint on the Impaulsive podcast. He not only claimed that Strickland was too insecure to be himself, but was a bad person behind closed doors. The UFC fighter eventually clapped back.

MGK really had knives out for Sean Strickland. Impaulsive host Logan Paul seemed genuinely surprised by how much the rapper hated the former middleweight champion. “I don’t know this guy from a crumb of bread,” MGK stated. “Didn’t know who he was when I met him. I got hip afterward that he’s insanely racist and homophobic and just not my type of guy, so I would have never wanted to shake his hand in the first place.” It got more intense from there. He proceeded to address Sean Strickland directly, and told him to “shut the f*ck up.” MGK also called him a “f*cking idiot” for good measure.

MGK And Strickland Have Been Beefing Since February

Strickland did not like what he heard (obviously). He took to Twitter a day after the MGK interview dropped, and fired back with a few insults of his own. The UFC star clowned the rapper of having an identity crisis despite being in his mid-30s. “Dawg you had a mid life crisis and tattooed your entire body,” he asserted. The language and the overall vitriol gets turned up as the tweet goes on. “The the [sic] ‘x community of intolerance’ yall,” Strickland added. “I’d hang out with you toxic trolls any day over this c**t.”

Sean Strickland ended his message by telling MGK to “go back to cutting” himself. He also threw in a “f*cking weirdo” for good measure. When someone calls you a “f*cking idiot,” a rebuttal seems pretty fair. For context, MGK and Sean Strickland first crossed paths in February. Both celebrities were at the Power Slam event, and their disdain for each was apparently on sight. An altercation between MGK and Strickland broke out. The latter took to Twitter afterwards and claimed that he “almost hit a vampire.” It doesn’t sound like these two are going to make up anytime soon.

Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Auction Postponed Over Massive Child Support & Tax Debts

Dame Dash’s one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records was set to be auctioned off by the U.S. government on August 29, but now, the auction has been pushed back by nearly a month. It will now take place on September 22. The sale is intended to cover an $823K judgment Dash owes Josh Webber, who along with Muddy Water Pictures, sued him for copyright infringement and defamation in 2022.

According to Billboard, however, both New York City and the state want money from the sale too. Reportedly, he owes $197,000 in unpaid child support, as well as a whopping $8.7 million in unpaid taxes. Judge Robert W. Lehrburger explained in his ruling that the delay would allow more time to set a higher minimum bid. Webber’s attorney has a plan for how to disburse the money, which he made alongside the city and state, though Dash’s lawyer Natraj Bhushan was not involved.

“We look forward to upcoming court conference so that all interested parties can be heard and the court can decide who gets what, and in what priority from the forthcoming public auction,” Bhushan says. The delay comes shortly after Jay-Z’s team filed a notice about the rights to his 1996 album Reasonable Doubt, Roc-A-Fella’s only asset. In 2031, the rights will officially go to him, meaning that whoever wins the auction will only get one-third of the album’s revenue for about six years.

Dash responded to this with a rant on Instagram Live. “They had some bum-a** board meeting and all of a sudden he gets first right of refusal. I don’t really care. It don’t slow nothing down for me,” he explained. “Now I don’t know how deep homie’s pockets is. I’m curious if he’s gonna match that. I put an offer on the table, lemme see if he’ll match it. But it was from other people.” What do you think of the planned auction of Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella shares getting delayed?
