JID Responds To Denzel Curry’s Viral Request To Make A Collab Album
Denzel Curry really wants to team up with JID. The two are among the best lyricists of their generation, and Curry think that making a joint album with JID would bolster his skill set. That’s what he told Apple Music, at least. “I always look for somebody to challenge [me],” he said back in July. “To make me a better emcee at the end of the day… Steel sharpens steel.” Curry wasn’t fooling around, either. The Florida rapper went out of his to assert that JID was the only rapper he would consider making a full album with. Luckily for him, the Dreamville superstar is onboard.
Denzel Curry sat down with NFR Podcast on August 5. He not only talked about his latest release, but provided fans with an update on the JID collab. “JID, me and him always had good songs together,” he noted. “When I told Apple Music that I was interested in working with him, he instantly called me.” The story gets even better. Apparently, JID is just as excited about the prospect of working with Curry as is the other way around. “He just called me,” Curry revealed. “He was like, ‘At some point, let’s do it.’ And I was like, ‘For sure.’”

JID Will Also Make A Collab Album With Metro Boomin
JID has been a busy man since dropping his acclaimed 2023 album, The Forever Story. The rapper has popped up on numerous albums, most notably Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady. JID appeared on the track “Fuel,” and the general consensus was that the Dreamville rapper bested Em. Despite this stance, JID gave a shout out to the Detroit legend on Facebook. “I’m f*cking honored,” he posted. “Thank you @eminem u are truly legendary.” In addition to his planned joint album with Denzel Curry, JID has also confirmed that he has a collab album with Metro Boomin in the works.
JID has a competitive streak, and is clearly able to hold his own against some of the greatest of all time, but the rapper is wary of being compared to others too often. He articulated the downside to this notion during a 2023 interview with People Magazine. “I see people comparing me to people I should never be compared to,” he explained. “And not in a positive way, like comparing me to DMX or Andre 3000. That’s why Twitter is the wild west because you could just say anything and it could be a topic of conversation.” All comparisons aside, we agree with NFR Podcast, who theorize that a JID and Curry album could very well be the collab of the decade.

Snoop Dogg Is Paris 2024 Olympics Gold: His Best Hilarious, Funny, & Heartwarming Moments
All eyes have been on Paris as the 2024 Olympics have stolen the world’s attention—with Snoop Dogg at the center of it all. The greatest athletes globally have descended on France for a series of games that have fans glued to screens and wearing their best patriotic fits. Over the years, Snoop Dogg has made commentary regarding the Olympics and professional sports, and his love for the competition has landed him front row at some of the most coveted events. He did the same during the 2021 Tokyo Games, and Snoop has returned to cover the event for NBC as an official correspondent (reportedly making a pretty penny). Representing and supporting Team USA, Snoop was spotted checking out the judo matches and fencing bouts. He even helped open the Games by carrying the Olympic torch.
“It’s too hard to put in words, baby,” he told NBC of the special moment. “I mean, the D.O. Double was holding the torch, walking through the city, man. I felt like [boxer] Muhammad Ali. It was extraordinary. It was excellent. And I found out that when you hold the torch, you a peace messenger. So, I really felt good about that.” Of course, a Snoop Dogg extravaganza wouldn’t be complete without his billionaire bestie Martha Stewart, who celebrated her 83rd birthday on August 3. She also accompanied the Long Beach legend to the equestrian events, where they watched the best of the best go for the Gold.

Admittedly, Snoop confessed that he feared horses; however, Stewart was determined to get him to conquer his anxieties. Naturally, they had to do it in dressage. “I have to keep him away from the horses,” Stewart said. “No feeding, no sugar, nothing. But we’re gonna have so much fun.” Meanwhile, Snoop joked, “I am interested in the horses that dance and I want to give them some carrots and apples … make sure they’re fed before they do their thang.”
The Rap icon has also reportedly helped boost viewership for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with fans eager to see his hilarious hot takes. “This opportunity was nothing but a chance for me to show the world what it’s supposed to look like when you put the right person in the right environment,” Snoop told The Associated Press. “When the lights are on, that’s when I shine the best.” Mr. Broadus has certainly been glowing as a prime-time correspondent, and fans have taken notice. NBC has been applauded for adding Snoop to their list of anchors with his feel-good moments permeating through social media.

Aside from giving on-site updates to the events, Snoop has even danced with Simone Biles and taken a swim with Michael Phelps—two incredible Gold Medalists with long reputations for dominating at the Olympics. When gymnasts Biles and Jordan Chiles saw the rapper in the crowd dancing, they had to join in on the festivities.
Further, social media users have been tapped into NBC online as they share behind-the-scenes footage. Not only was the dancing moment caught by cameras, but Snoop’s casual dip with the famed Phelps was also captured. In a video, the “Gin and Juice” hitmaker joked, “Me and MP, we go back like the backstroke.” Then, he added more about his skills and physique. “You just described me. You said wingspan, lung power. I definitely have great lung power, and I do have a swimmer’s body. Look, our bodies are similar. Mike, we could be twins.”
Yet, Snoop seemed a bit winded when trying out some of Phelps’s best moves. “Mike, you make this look too easy, oh God. As you see, I’m in gold medal condition and he’s still in gold medal condition.” The rapper added, “As we speak, shout out to the Phelps family and to the team that’s going to give me some oxygen right now.”

Keeping up with all of the Games has proven to be difficult, but Snoop has mastered the art of…a lack of sleep? He told AP, “It’s more about relaxing rather than sleeping because I’m having so much fun.” The constant schedule of competitive sports has the Hip Hop icon running around the Olympic Village. “This ain’t the town to sleep in. This ain’t the time to sleep. This is time to be on it like you want it. It’s different events happening day and night. I want to be active with everything, because I love the American athletes and competition. This is what I’m here for.”
Moreover, there was concern from Snoop that NBC wanted him to water down his personality. Thankfully, he says he’s been able to be his authentic self, endearing fans to him even more. “That’s why it’s not hard for me,” he stated of his interviews. Snoop has been able to catch up with the likes of A’ja Wilson (women’s basketball), Noah Lyles (track and field), and more. “It’s not like an act. The bits that we do. They’re comfortable. They’re not stretched or forced. It’s me being me.”
While the Paris 2024 Olympics has athletes vying for medals, it’s Snoop Dogg’s commemorative pin that has people on edge. The limited edition pin features the rapper blowing out smoke into the Olympics rings logo. Notably, behind him stands the Eiffel Tower. People have taken to social media begging for an original, but even Snoop doesn’t know where the pins can be found. “I don’t have an answer for that. I’m going to be honest with you, I have zero answer for that,” he said. “I’ll have to get y’all a sidebar on that.”

Lil Wayne’s Old Rhyme Book Up For Sale For $5M
Some lucky Hip Hop fan may just come up on a piece of Cash Money Records history as the controversial rhyme book of YMCMB boss Lil Wayne has recently been put up for sale with. hefty $5 million price tag.
Moments In Time, a popular online memorabilia site, has been fighting legal battles for years over Tunechi’s book of rhymes, which dates back as early as his days with the Hot Boys in the 90s.
MIT originally attempted to sell the book back in 2019 for a man who says he found the book of handwritten rhymes in a car that used to belong to Cash Money, but as soon as it was listed for sale, MIT got a letter from Wayne’s camp ordering to cease and desist the sale and return the book.
In February, Judge Kern A. Reese of the Civil District Court of Orleans Parish in Louisiana ruled that Moments In Time did have all legal rights to sell the book, according to a legal document published on the sale page.
The book was originally listed for $250K in 2019, but is now priced at $5,000,000.

BossMan Dlow Seemingly Taken Into Custody By Florida Police: Watch
BossMan Dlow did not have a great start to his week. If the footage that’s gone viral on social media is to be believed, that is. On August 5, a fan uploaded a video of the rapper seemingly being arrested. He gets handcuffed and escorted to a vehicle by federal officers. A fan can scarcely believe what’s going on, and proceeds to yellow BossMan Dlow’s name. The rapper turns and looks acknowledges the fan, which has many convinced that it is in fact him.
The caption over the video claims that BossMan Dlow fell prey to an FBI raid. The thing is, there hasn’t been any information to confirm the raid or the rapper’s arrest. Florida authorities haven’t confirmed that BossMan Dlow is in custody, or whether he has been formally charged. The site RL Live theorized that Dlow was putting together a car giveaway to help Floridians in need. The site then posits that the poor organization of the event, and the lack of permits, led to authorities being called and arrests being made. Neither the rapper’s camp nor the authorities have confirmed this, however.

BossMan Dlow Was Seen Handcuffed In His Native Florida
BossMan Dlow is no stranger to legal trouble. The rapper was locked up for drug possession back in 2019, and spent a good portion of the COVID pandemic behind bars. Dlow talked about his experience during a March 2024 profile with XXL. “I had sale charges, possession of cocaine charges, sh*t like that,” he conceded. “When I was in there, COVID had came.” BossMan Dlow recalls being spooked by COVID, and theorizes that he caught it despite not being treated. “I seen all the deaths all the numbers rising and sh*t like that,” he added. “I thought my people was going to die when I was in there.”
Since his release, however, BossMan Dlow has been on an upward trajectory. The rapper scored his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single “Get In with Me.” He also earned a spot on the prestigious XXL Freshman List in July. BossMan has plans to continue his upward ascent, and is even manifesting a collab with Drake. One of [my dream collabs] is Drake,” he told the outlet. “I definitely need a song with Drake… So, we gon’ have something on the way.” Hopefully the rapper’s seeming arrest doesn’t get in the way of his career ambitions.

Kehlani Accused Of Being In Dangerous Cult As Baby Daddy Seeks Custody Of Daughter
50 Cent Beats Ex-Drug Kingpin In $1B Lawsuit: What We Know
50 Cent has emerged victorious in a $1 billion lawsuit filed by an ex-drug kingpin who claimed the entertainment mogul stole his life story to create the hit series Power, All Hip Hop reports. The legal battle began in 2021 when Cory “Ghost” Holland filed a lawsuit against 50 Cent, Courtney Kemp, Starz, and Lionsgate. Furthermore, Holland asserted that the show’s character Ghost, played by Omari Hardwick, closely mirrored his own experiences. He also claimed that 50 and the show’s creators used his story without his consent for profit. However, the court has now ruled in favor of 50 Cent, dismissing all claims against him.

The Origins Of The Lawsuit
In 2021, Cory “Ghost” Holland initiated a billion-dollar lawsuit against 50 Cent, Courtney Kemp, Starz, and Lionsgate. Holland alleged that the character “Ghost” in the series Power unlawfully reflected his life without his consent. He detailed his life story in a 2007 CD titled Blasphemy, which he claimed to have sent to the father of series co-creator Courtney Kemp as a plea for help to exit the drug trade legitimately. Additionally, Holland accused 50 and the show’s creators of exploiting his story for profit without his permission.
Court’s Ruling On Defamation Claims
50 Cent denied all allegations. Judge Analisa Torres sided with 50 and dismissed the claims in each case. In the first case, it was decided that the character “Ghost” in the show Power did not directly refer to Holland, which is necessary for a defamation claim. Despite similarities in family structure, the court found these to be mere coincidences.
Harassment & Threat Allegations
Holland’s second lawsuit accused 50 Cent of sending goons to harass and threaten him. He specifically alleged that 50 Cent showed up in his neighborhood with an entourage in a fleet of vans and SUVs, looking for a man named “Ghost.” In another incident, people associated with the rapper allegedly played a threatening song near his house, which Holland felt was an attempt to send a clear message to him. The legal battle took a treacherous turn when Holland threatened violence against 50 and his legal team. In a letter obtained by AllHipHop, Holland warned of potentially fatal consequences if 50 Cent or anyone associated with him confronted him again.
Dismissal Of Claims & Conclusion
Judge Torres dismissed the harassment claims against 50 Cent, citing that one of Holland’s claims was past the statute of limitations and that the assertion about the threatening song didn’t hold up in court. “There is no indication that this conduct constituted a threat, much less an ‘imminent threat of harmful contact’ as required for an assault claim,” Judge Torres explained. Holland’s third lawsuit claimed Lionsgate should pay $300 million for not controlling the G-Unit boss since the movie studio produces the Power franchise. However, the negligent supervision claim against Lionsgate and Starz was dismissed as Holland failed to demonstrate a duty of care owed to him by the companies. The cases have been closed, and judgment has been entered in favor of 50 Cent, bringing an end to the legal battle.

Gunna Teases Unreleased Song & Vibes With LeBron James In Paris
About a month and a half ago, Gunna shared some insight as to what his intentions are for his next album. “I might do this love album. Not all love songs but just a pocket of songs that’s more intimate. I think that’s going to be the next album for me”, he told Spotify for their A Day In The Life series. There is no current timetable for when this will come to fruition, but fans are hoping its sooner than later. In fact, it just might be because Gunna was in Paris teasing a song with LeBron James in attendance. According to Kurrco, the rapping and NBA superstars were seen at some sort of event post the Olympic games. Perhaps it was after Team USA’s win over Puerto Rico in their final group stage game on Saturday.
Regardless, Gunna and LeBron James were clearly chopping it up and having a good time while in France. Down below, you can hear the snippet, and it sounds fire. It sounds braggadocious and atmospheric as per usual, so it appears that Gunna isn’t ready to tease any love cuts just yet. Overall, like the album, fans are wanting this unreleased record ASAP.

Gunna & LeBron Chop It Up
“Streets need that”, one user on X writes. Another makes a clever pun regarding Gunna’s past hits and to show that Bron is a big fan of the ATL MC, “ebron”. Others are joking that it needs to drop, but only so the NBA legend can start practicing the words. “Bron gotta start learning the song so he know the lyrics when it drops”. Whenever this comes out, it will be the latest offering since his One of Wun tape. However, it will also come after a handful of high profile collabs with Offset and IDK.
What are your thoughts on Gunna’s potentially new song teaser? Do you think he’s got a new album in the works already? How do you feel about him and LeBron James linking up in Paris during the 2024 Paris Olympics? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments.
