Most Valuable Promotions, Netflix, and Fanatics Events today announced that Jake Paul (10-1 7KOs) and Mike Tyson (50-6 44 KOs) will face off at an exclusive press conference on Sunday, August 18, at the inaugural Fanatics Fest NYC, an immersive sports festival where sports, culture, and collecting collide. Paul and Tyson will come face to face for the first time since the historic bout was rescheduled. MVP’s Paul vs. Tyson will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix on Friday, November 15, 2024 from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

The Paul vs. Tyson press conference, hosted by renowned journalist and Super Bowl Champion, Ryan Clark, will headline the final day of Fanatics Fest NYC on Sunday, August 18th at 2:00pm ET at The Theater, and will stream live on Most Valuable Promotions’ YouTube and Netflix’s YouTube. Fanatics Fest NYC, which will be held at the Javits Center in the heart of New York City, will bring together some of the biggest names in sports and culture, and serve as the ultimate destination for sports fans and collectors.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson marks Jake Paul’s most-anticipated fight to date and his third fight of 2024 following three sensational knockouts in a row against professional boxers and Golden Glove winners Andre August and Ryan Bourland and most recently BKFC champion Mike Perry on July 20. Paul has shown tremendous growth as a boxer on his path to becoming a world champion, but now will take on one of the best and most dangerous boxers of all time in Mike Tyson.

“After eating Mike Perry as an appetizer, I’m ready to go for the main course on Friday, November 15,” said Jake Paul. “To be fighting the biggest baddest boxer ever is a dream come true for me and it is going to be a nightmare for Mike Tyson. It’s cool to be featured at Fanatics Fest alongside some of the biggest names in sports and I look forward to delivering a show the fans won’t soon forget on Friday, November 15th.”

Mike Tyson, the legendary former undisputed world heavyweight champion, is one of the biggest sports stars ever. The “Baddest Man on the Planet” is recognized as one of the greatest fighters of all time, ESPN’s #1 hardest hitter in heavyweight history, and the youngest heavyweight champion ever at just 20 years old. His explosive power and ferocious fighting style led to a staggering run of 37 consecutive victories, with 33 of those wins coming by knockout.

“I’m looking forward to facing off with Jake Paul at Fanatics Fest in NYC,” said Mike Tyson. “The countdown is back on. I’m feeling great and looking forward to knocking out Jake Paul on Friday, November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Texas on Netflix.”

“This press conference on Sunday, August 18 is just the beginning of what promises to be an extraordinary build-up to Friday, November 15,” said MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian. “It’s fitting to have Jake Paul and Mike Tyson face off in person at an event that highlights the most prominent brands in sports. We’re delighted to be part of Fanatics Fest and can’t wait to see fans from all over experience this historic build-up firsthand.”

“When we launched Fanatics Fest earlier this year, our vision was to create a platform where sports legends and cultural icons could connect with fans in unprecedented ways,” said Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin. “Hosting the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson press conference at Fanatics Fest NYC is a testament to that vision. This event embodies the energy, excitement, and passion that we aim to bring to every Fanatics Fest experience.”

Drake Unloaded ‘100 Gigs’ Of Unreleased Material, Including Three Songs With Young Thug, 21 Savage, And Latto

If you thought the outcome of Drake’s rap battle with Kendrick Lamar would push him into a cave, you were quite mistaken. Since the rapid beef calmed down, Drake has featured beside Camila Cabello and Gordo on new songs, and now, he’s back again with music of his own. In posts made to his now-revealed finsta (Fake Instagram) account, thanks to him reposting it on his main verified Instagram account, Drake unveiled three new songs as a part of 100 gigabytes of unreleased content that he shared with fans.

The three songs are “It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto, and “Blue Green Red.” “It’s Up” lands as bass-knocking track with verses from Young Thug and 21 Savage while “Housekeeping Knows” pairs Drake with Latto for a “sweet,” “uplifting,” and “inspiring” New Orleans-bounce track that concludes with a verse from the Atlanta rapper. Finally there’s “Blue Green Red,” a tropical, dancehall-inspired track that will probably do well in the remaining weeks of summer.

As if the three new songs weren’t enough, the folder of unreleased content also includes behind-the-scenes videos and other unreleased content from over the years in Drake careers. This includes BTS footage of Drake’s “Nonstop,” “Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin,” “Sticky,” “Hotline Bling,” and “What’s Next” music videos, among others. There’s also an original version of “U With Me,” videos from his 2023 show at New York’s Apollo Theatre, more BTS content from tours like 2012’s Club Paradise Tour and 2013’s Would You Like a Tour?, as well as videos of Drake recording music in the studio.

Honestly, there’s so much content in here, it’ll take a day or seven to decipher what it is and what Drake era it’s from. We’ll leave that task up to you all if you so choose to take it on.

You can view Drake’s “100 gigs” of unreleased material on his website here.

21 Savage Seemingly Disses Kendrick Lamar On Drake’s “It’s Up”

Fans think 21 Savage dissed Kendrick Lamar with his appearance on Drake’s new song, “It’s Up.” The Toronto rapper shared the track online on Tuesday, along with two other singles and plenty of other content. All-in-all, he dropped 100 gigabytes of material for fans to peruse through. “Made a couple songs think he hot now / Hit his ass up think he pac now,” 21 raps on his verse. He’s featured on the song alongside Young Thug.

Fans had plenty of mixed responses to 21’s decision to join in on the feud on social media. “Picking sides through sneak dissing instead of publicly defending his boy mfers are scared to say candy man’s name,” one user theorized on X (formerly Twitter). Another added: “21 Savage really shouldn’t be coming at Kendrick bc he’s one of the worst new-gen rappers and all his verses sound the same.” Others argued 21 didn’t intend to come at Lamar. “I doubt it it’s probably an old song considering there’s a thug feat,” one fan noted.

21’s possible diss comes after Drake’s viral feud with Kendrick Lamar which saw him release several diss tracks aimed at the Compton rapper including “The Heart Part 6,” “Family Matters,” and “Push Ups.” Many fans felt Lamar took home the victory after dropping the hit song, “Not Like Us,” and hosting The Pop Out – Ken & Friends in Los Angeles.

Power Book’s Michael Rainey Jr. Stars Opposite Chloe Bailey in Horror Film ‘Goons’ From Director of ‘First Purge,’ Gerard McMurray

Screen Shot 2024 08 06 at 12.44.37 PM

Power Book II star Michael Rainey Jr. and multi-hyphenate Chloe Bailey are on deck to star in the upcoming horror film “Goons,” directed and co-written by Gerard McMurray, known for franchise favorite “The First Purge.”

The first announcement of “Goons” was initially reported by Deadline.

Get this, the film is being developed under Confluential Films’ new horror label, New Fear Unlocked Productions, which has a mission to produce “bold, elevated, culturally specific horror films from creators of color.” That’s what the industry needs, if we may say so ourselves.

Hodge K. Johnson co-penned the script with McMurray. Tommy Oliver, the CEO and founder of Confluential Films, is producing the project, which is fully financed by Confluential.

Check out the rollout … ”Goons” will be the first release from New Fear Unlocked Productions. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the film is set against the eerie backdrop of Louisiana’s cane fields and plantations.

“I can’t wait for audiences to see what Gerard and I are cooking up with the kick-ass squad we’ve assembled. I also couldn’t be more excited to kick off New Fear Unlocked with this film from such a talented director,” said Oliver.

McMurray expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I’m beyond excited to direct a film in the horror genre. ‘Goons’ is a love letter to my hometown of New Orleans, and a deeply personal story for me. Producing this film along with Confluential/New Fear Unlocked shows the power of Black storytellers with a collaborative spirit.”

Sounds like a win all around. Excited to see how this one develops.

Halle Berry’s Emergency Co-Parenting Motion Denied by Judge

Screen Shot 2024 08 06 at 3.28.07 PM

Last week, the divorce battle between Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez took another turn. Reports surfaced that Berry sought to compel her ex-husband back into co-parenting classes after he left for a summer vacation, but her motion was denied.

In Touch reports that a Los Angeles superior court judge rejected Berry’s emergency court order. The court documents, obtained exclusively by the magazine, reveal that Berry, 57, requested that Martinez, 58, resume co-parenting therapy sessions, a stipulation from their recent settlement.

The couple, who share a 10-year-old son, Maceo, have had a contentious relationship post-divorce. In her motion, Berry accused Martinez of violating their agreement regarding co-parenting therapy, thus necessitating the emergency order.

However, Martinez’s legal team quickly responded, arguing that the issue did not constitute an emergency. They accused Berry of strategically timing her motion to coincide with Martinez’s vacation, making it difficult for him to respond.

“[Halle] knowingly noticed her ex parte request when she knew Olivier would be traveling and would be unable to communicate with his counsel to respond to [Halle’s] ex parte request, thus further impeding [Olivier’s] right to be heard,” stated Martinez’s legal team.

Thoughts?
