NBA YoungBoy Attempts To Postpone Federal Gun Case
NBA YoungBoy’s defense attorney Drew Findling believes that the rapper’s federal gun case should be postponed in order to wait for additional rulings from higher courts on similar gun cases to ensue which could set new precedents and alter the results of his trial. He made the argument in a brief he filed last Monday. The prosecution, on the other hand, argues a similar case in the U.S. Supreme Court from earlier this summer regarding Zackey Rahimi is sufficient.
YoungBoy’s legal team’s case relies on the notion that prohibiting someone’s right to own a firearm, even a felon, is unconstitutional under the Second Amendment. As for the Rahimi case, it centers around whether the person in question is considered a credible threat to society. In turn, Fielding says despite YoungBoy being a felon, it was never proven he remained a danger. “After Rahimi, it is still an open question whether Congress can simply prohibit all convicted felons, regardless of the nature of the felony, from possessing a firearm, or whether such prohibitions can be applied without individualized findings that a particular defendant presents a credible threat to the safety of others. And finally, it is an open question whether such prohibitions may be permanent,” he wrote.

J Balvin Returns To His Roots With New Album, “Rayo”
J Balvin has shared his sixth studio album, Rayo, making for the first full-length effort from the “Prince of Reggaeton” since 2021. The new project features collaborations with Chencho Corleone, Luar la L, Feid, Saiko, Bad Gyal, Zion, Dei V, Ryan Castro, Blessd, Carín León, Omar Courtz, Yovngchimi, Quevedo, Mambo Kingz and DJ Luian. It takes its name from the first car that his father bought him. He dropped the project on streaming services on Friday.
Speaking about the project with PEOPLE for a recent interview, he revealed his inspiration for the music. “This album is inspired by when I was a kid doing music just for the love of the music, forgetting about the business. This is something that reminded me of my childhood when I wanted to be an artist. When I was the most hungry, it’s when I was a kid,” Balvin told the outlet. “Now, I still feel the same hunger that I had before, but I don’t have to prove myself and I just enjoy the process of the music. Lil Mosey Drops New EP, “Love U Forever,” As An Independent Artist
Lil Mosey has shared a new EP titled Love U Forever, after dropping the latest single for the project, “By Yourself,” two weeks ago. The new project comes after he separated from his former label and inked a deal to go independent with Cinq Music, earlier this year. “I’m excited to finally be able to release independently,” Lil Mosey back in March. “I’m grateful to have a partner like Cinq and Barry. I know that we will do great things together.”
Mosey shared the release on his Instagram page on Friday, resulting in mixed feelings from fans. Some have been loving the direction he’s going in with the new music. One top comment reads: “I Love ‘So what’ my personal favorite on the EP and I’m messin w the new era heavy! Keep it up bro!” Not all of the reactions have been so positive, however. Kehlani Is Focused On Their Daughter After Debunking Sex Cult Allegations
Kehlani says they are focused on taking care of their daughter after having to debunk allegations they were involved in a sex cult made by their ex-partner, Javaughn Young-White, last week. In a new statement on Instagram, the singer called out people who used their initial silence on the matter against them.
“My silence is focus,” they wrote. “I am focused on my daughter. I’m tired of my silence being framed as anything but. My daughter and the work I have to continue, so her life remains as wonderful as it is, is my focus.” From there, Kehlani further clarified that they have no ill will toward the people spreading the accusation. They concluded: “I have no ill wishes even for those who have ill wishes towards me. I’m a mother first and foremost, and a person who believes in God.” Reports of Young-White making the allegations initially surfaced in a report from TMZ, which cited his custody filing.

He later came out and shot down the claims and argued his former legal council put out the statement without his permission. “Before filing, the information regarding Priest Neto and his church was circulated to me by parties of priority. I am now aware that these parties were attempting to use allegations and vocabulary to escalate their own disputes within the church. As of today, these parties no longer align with their allegations. Understandably, I was not aware of this at the time,” he wrote in one statement. “When I was presented with the allegations against Neto and his church, my daughter was no longer affiliated. However, I was still deeply distressed about the direct care of my child. From my perspective, I was being told the consequences of alarming decision-making that could have ended quite differently.”
