Boosie Badazz’s Legal Troubles Resurface with New Charges

Boosie Badazz Threatens His Cousin After He Stole $7,000 Out His Bedroom

Last week, Baton Rouge rapper Boosie Badazz, born Torrence Hatch Jr., tearfully celebrated the dismissal of his felony gun charges. However, the celebration was short-lived as new charges have been reinstated, accompanied by an additional drug charge.

While on vacation with his family, Boosie broke the unfortunate news to his followers. The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of California has filed another indictment against the 41-year-old rapper, less than two weeks after a federal judge threw out the previous case. The new charges include two counts of firearm possession: one involving interstate commerce as a convicted felon and another for knowingly possessing a firearm while dealing with a controlled substance.

The previous charges were dismissed earlier this month due to a recent federal court precedent that found the law unconstitutional as it applies to those convicted of non-violent crimes. However, federal prosecutors are now reasserting the allegations, aiming for court-mandated forfeiture of “all firearms and ammunition involved in the commission of the offenses.” If convicted on the second charge of unlawful possession while dealing with substance abuse, Boosie could face a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.

In a post on the social media platform X on Wednesday morning, Boosie expressed his frustration: “IM ON VACATION WITH MY FAMILY MY LAWYER CALL ME N SAY THIS FEDERAL PROSECUTOR … HAS INDICTED ME AGAIN ON THE SAME CHARGE … THIS POINT YOU MAKING THIS A CIRCUS.” The post also included the hashtag “#justiceforboosie.”

Boosie’s ongoing legal battle stems from his arrest in San Diego’s Chollas View neighborhood in May 2023. He was in town to film a music video and perform at a local club when police became involved after seeing an Instagram livestream showing a man, later identified as Boosie, with a black handgun tucked into his waistband. Despite leaving the scene before officers arrived, Boosie was tracked down using a helicopter and subjected to a traffic stop, during which two loaded handguns were found in the vehicle.

Local prosecutors initially brought firearm possession charges against Boosie, but those were dropped. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) then took over the case, re-arresting Boosie on June 14 under a similar federal charge. After pleading not guilty and being released on a $100,000 bond, Boosie posted an Instagram video from the lazy river at San Diego’s Sycuan Casino Resort, celebrating the dismissal of his case.

Beyoncé’s ‘Freedom’ Sees Jump in Streaming After Use by Kamala Harris’ Campaign

Music Beyoncé Kamala Harris

Let us find out the “Kamala Harris effect” is not only a real thing but influencing streaming data. That’s because Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” is experiencing a noticeable increase in streams after the Democratic presidential candidate used the 2016 track during her first campaign appearances this week.

Just check the data from Luminate that reveals that U.S. on-demand streams for “Freedom” skyrocketed by over 1,300 percent from Sunday to Tuesday, climbing from 16,600 streams to 235,400 in just a few days.

“Freedom,” featuring Kendrick Lamar and part of Beyoncé’s sixth album “Lemonade,” was the anthem playing as Harris visited her campaign headquarters in Delaware, shortly after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection. There goes Kendrick again.

As reported by CNN, Beyoncé gave her blessing for Harris to use “Freedom” as her walk-out song just hours before her appearance and has allowed its continued use throughout her campaign.

Get this, the song seems to resonate with Harris, who also featured it in a campaign video released earlier on Thursday. While Beyoncé hasn’t officially endorsed Harris’s presidential bid, she supported Biden and Harris in the 2020 election, urging her fans to vote.

ICYMI, many celebrities and musicians are rallying behind Harris’s candidacy. Charli XCX notably referenced her latest album “Brat” by tweeting, “Kamala IS brat,” which led Harris’s campaign team to adopt the album’s visual identity for their header on X (formerly Twitter). Crossover appeal. That’s how you win elections.

Other musicians, including Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Barbra Streisand, and Lizzo, have also shown their support or praised Harris’s policies. We are here for it. All of it.

GloRilla And Moneybagg Yo Are Freaky Fitness Trainers In Their Baddie-Praising ‘All Dere’ Video

Once upon a time, fitness videos came with titles like “Buns Of Steel,” and the goal was to have a small, tight gluteus maximus. Fortunately, society has since learned better. GloRilla’s video for Ehhthang Ehhthang standout “All Dere” with Moneybagg Yo illustrates just how far we’ve come, showing nothing but love for jiggly butts and cellulite as the two Memphis rappers take on the role of freaky fitness trainers for a workout class aimed at getting “shawty thick as hell.” Stay until the outtakes at the end, in which Glo hilariously admits that exercise bikes make her legs hurt.

Ehhthang Ehhthang made its way onto Uproxx Editorial Director Elliott Wilson’s list of his favorite albums of 2024, and the rapper herself has continued to be a standout this year, performing alongside Megan Thee Stallion at the BET Awards after twerking along with the Hot Girl Coach on her Hot Girl Summer tour. Glo and Meg both reunited with Cardi B on the remix of their hit song “Wanna Be,” followed up her smash hit “Yeah Glo!” with “TGIF” and is, in general, having the time of her life in 2024.

You can watch GloRilla’s “All Dere” video with Moneybagg Yo above.

Ice Spice Twerks Her Way Around New York With Travis Scott In The Official ‘Oh Shhh…’ Video

Central Cee isn’t the only Ice Spice collaborator to spark dating rumors. Now that the “Phat Butt” rapper’s debut studio album, Y2K!, is out, supporters are curious about her connection with Travis Scott, which has intensified with the release of their track, “Oh Shhh…” official video.

Today (July 26), Ice dropped the New York-themed visual and showed what brought the two acts together: their ability to shake the room. Scott’s recent Circus Maximus Tour stop in Italy nearly caused an earthquake. While Ice’s twerking (when she’s up to it) could spark that same results.

In the video, Ice showed off her sensual moves around her stomping grounds. It starts, though, with Ice on display as a twerking art exhibit. From prestigious museums to her re-imagined Liberty Island, Ice embraces her beloved moves and historical figures. For fun, Ice even sported a custom Statue Of Liberty costume for a laugh.

But at dinner with Scott, they turn things up by standing on expensive couches. Then, Scott took his rager energy to the Statue Of Liberty’s torch for a standalone scene to end the fiery video.

Y2K! is out now via 10K Projects/Capitol Records. Find more information here.

Ice Spice Checks Kai Cenat On Livestream For Trying To Smack Her Butt

On Thursday night, Ice Spice did a livestream with popular video content creator Kai Cenat to promote her debut album, Y2K. She and Cenat have streamed together in the past. His platform is one of the places newer rappers go to promote themselves or their music. Several clips from the stream are making the rounds on the internet, including one of Cenat attempting to smack Ice’s butt before getting caught.

Cenat tried to explain it away. Unfortunately for him, he stumbled through his words en route to an explanation that did not make much sense. Fans wasted no time making jokes at Cenat’s expense. One X user noted that Ice Spice had “eyes in the back of her head.” Others asked what he was doing. Ice did not take his explanation seriously, responding with the sarcastic tone befitting of someone from New York City.

Ice Spice Checks Kai Cenat On Stream

For Ice Spice, Cenat’s stream was the last stop on her album’s pre-release promotional tour. Y2K arrived on Friday at midnight. Earlier in the week, she was the subject of Rolling Stone‘s latest cover story. She went in depth about her relationships with Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift, dealing with negativity, and her “feud” with Latto. Cenat’s livestreams are a looser atmosphere, as fans have previously seen when he went live with Kevin Hart and Druski. Ice and Cenat are both from The Bronx as well, which they’ve talked about in the past.

Y2K comes with some fan intrigue. Ice Spice has been among the most popular rappers around for the last two years. The New York Times dubbed her “Hip-Hop’s New Princess” in a January 2023 profile. She’s rubbed shoulders with Taylor Swift, even getting on a remix of Swift’s track “Karma.” Despite those achievements, people if she could hold their attention for an entire album. Her Like..? EP was met with a mixed reaction. Much like that EP, Y2K is dividing fans early. Ice released nearly half the album as singles. None of them captured the public in the way that her songs with PinkPantheress or Nicki Minaj did last year. Hopefully, her stream with Cenat gives it a boost.

Travis Scott & 50 Cent’s Ex Cuban Link Spark Dating Rumors, Rick Ross Reacts

Recently, Travis Scott sparked speculation when he was spotted alongside Cuban Link. Photos of the two of them seemingly headed to a hotel are making their rounds online, prompting rumors that they could be an item. This is still unconfirmed, though one person was quick to weigh in, Rick Ross. For those who don’t recall, Cuban Link dated 50 Cent for several years. They now appear to have gone their separate ways as recently as a few months ago.

Of course, 50 Cent and Rick Ross have also had beef for a while now. Fif ramped up his trolling efforts last month after Ross was jumped in Vancouver by alleged Drake fans. Now, it appears as though the tables have turned, as Rozay hopped on his Instagram Story today to clown 50 Cent for the rumors currently surrounding his ex.

He shared a clip of Cuban Link getting into a car with the performer, using Fif’s own lyrics to mock him. “Many men, many many many many men -50 Cent,” he wrote. Ross didn’t stop there, however. He went on to share a clip of his shoe collection, revealing plans to support Travis Scott through his choice of footwear. “No Louis Vuittons today, no no no. We wearing Travis Scotts all week,” he declared.

Clearly, Ross is overjoyed by these latest dating rumors, and this golden opportunity to clown his longtime rival. 50 Cent, Cuban Link, and Travis Scott have yet to address the dating rumors. What do you think of Travis Scott being spotted alongside 50 Cent’s ex, Cuban Link, earlier this week? What about Rick Ross’ reaction to rumors they’re dating? B. Simone & Pretty Vee Respond To Soulja Boy Following His Heated Rant

If it was apparent by now, Soulja Boy is someone that you have to tread lightly around. The slightest bit of ridicule sets this guy off and B. Simone is someone who learned that the hard way. Just yesterday, a clip from the multi-hyphenate’s podcast, Let’s Try This Again, was making the rounds online after shooting a stray toward the rapper. She was retelling a story from a magazine photoshoot and while she was working, she had a gospel music playlist. B. Simone was saying how no one at the site was ripping her for her taste.

“Nobody said ‘Why are we listening to this? Man, put on Soulja Boy.’ I don’t think anybody’s ever saying put on Soulja Boy… I don’t know why I said that”. Later on, the podcast host made sure to give the “Crank That” MC his props for being a “hip-hop legend” and a “trendsetter”. Like we mentioned, though, all of the buttering up didn’t keep Soulja from firing back. He went off on Simone, essentially calling her ugly, roasting her for her lack of recognition as a musician, and repeatedly pointed out how he had more hair than her.

A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom)

Well, B. Simone, along with fellow comedian, Pretty Vee, had some words for Mr. Pretty Boy Swag. However, there was nearly not as much malicious intent, especially from Simone. “This is nuts 😂”, she began. “I literally say “‘We have to put some respect on Soulja Boy name. He is a trendsetter & an innovator in the culture. So I respect Soulja Boy’”. I literally say he’s a hip-hop legend 🤔 God bless you baby @souljaboy 🙏🏾 Hope you good 🥹 But LTTA @letstrythisagain TAP IN👏🏾👏🏾❤❤ Love yall !!!!”. That prompted Soulja to react lightheartedly, “@thebsimone you hurt my feelings 😭🤦🏾‍♂️”.

That is when Pretty Vee came in to back up her girl. “Don’t play with me @souljaboy. You better play with them ones like this but not @thebsimone. Again she said what she said, now WHAT 🤬”. I rebuke you in the name of Jesus you living creature 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”. What are your thoughts on B. Simone and Pretty Vee’s responses to Soulja Boy following his heated clap-back? Does it sound like things are okay between the trio? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, stay with us for everything else going on in the worlds of music and pop culture.

Ice Spice & Travis Scott Light Up NYC In New “Oh Shhh” Music Video

Today, Ice Spice dropped her eagerly anticipated debut album Y2K! following months of teasing. The project includes various previously released singles like “Phat Butt” and “Think U The Sh*t,” along with six brand new tracks. It also boasts high-profile features from the likes of Central Cee, Gunna, and Travis Scott.

Now, Ice Spice has unveiled a new music video for her collaboration with Scott, “Oh Shhh…” The video begins with Ice Spice throwing it back in a display case at what appears to be a museum. Of course, onlookers are stunned as they watch in awe. The Bronx-born performer then channels Lady Liberty, holding a torch as she poses in front of the New York City skyline.

Ice Spice Drops Off New Y2K! Visuals

Things take a fiery turn when Travis Scott is introduced, as the city is quickly consumed by flames. He spits his verse from the iconic statue’s crown while unbothered by the chaos taking place behind him, enjoys a feast with his collaborator, and more. So far, fans are loving the fun visual. Unfortunately, however, the same can’t be said for the rest of the album. As reactions to Y2K! continue to roll in, listeners’ feedback has been overwhelmingly negative. While some are simply disappointed by the lack of new material it actually includes, others think Ice Spice needs to consider changing up her sound.

Many even think Ice Spice threw shade at Cardi B on her track “BB Belt,” which has fans split and seemingly earned a heated response from the “Enough” rapper yesterday. What do you think of Ice Spice’s new album, Y2K? Do you think it deserves all of the negative feedback it’s been receiving online or not? What about her new music video for her track “Oh Shhh…” with Travis Scott? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
