Stephen A. Smith Claps Back At Monica McNutt, Takes Credit For Her Success

Yesterday, ESPN basketball analyst Monica McNutt called out Stephen A. Smith during First Take while debating the WNBA. Monday’s First Take included a contentious conversation between Shannon Sharpe, Monica McNutt, and Stephen A. Smith over the hard foul on Caitlin Clark. McNutt criticized Stephen A. in her closing remarks for waiting until this year to bring up the WNBA. Stephen A. Smith was left stunned and clearly outdone by Monica’s fair criticism. She responded to Smith saying, , “Stephen A., respectfully, with your platform, you could have been doing this three years ago if you wanted to.”

It came after Stephen A. Smith was taking credit for covering women’s sports before anybody else, and McNutt checked him on that fact. Now Stephen A. Smith has responded. Stephen A. Smith is refusing to accept Monica McNutt’s remarks. Later yesterday evening, on his podcast, the ESPN personality addressed the jabs the two had exchanged on “First Take” on Monday. Stephen A. Smith went at Monica McNutt’s credibility while also simultaneously praising her, kind of like when someone says “no offense” before saying something offensive. Overall, the dig really got to Stephen A., but he is not taking it well.

Stephen A. Smith Responds To Monica McNutt

After going on a long tirade about Clark’s influence on the WNBA, Stephen A. Smith addressed the argument with McNutt, claiming that her remarks on the ESPN debate program “absolutely shocked” him. Stephen A. then took responsibility for several ESPN women’s careers saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, I am the executive producer of First Take. You ever heard of Monica McNutt? You have now. Because she’s on First Take a lot. Chiney Ogwumike, absolutely wonderful, spectacular basketball analyst. … ask her how it’s been to be on First Take. How about Andraya Carter? Who’s a rising star in this business. How much do you think First Take helped that? What about Kimberley Martin? What about Molly Qerim herself?”

Smith went on to criticize the individuals from whom he had “taken a lot of s–t” before describing what he believed McNutt to have said about him as “factually incorrect” and “highly offensive.” He continued, “I challenge anybody to find a show on sports television that discusses women’s issues that discuss the WNBA, or women’s sports that highlights and profiles female analysts more than ‘First Take.’ It’s been going on for years.” Smith said that even if McNutt and he disagreed, he would still “support” each other. Overall, it might have been an overreaction from Stephen A. Smith.

Murda Mook Goes After “Bozo” Joe Budden For Joking About His Recent Arrest: “That’s A Special Kind Of Hate”

Murda Mook voiced his frustration with Joe Budden during a recent appearance on the Uppercut Podcast. He took issue with Budden making jokes about the size of his apartment in response to his arrest back in February. He says it takes a “special kind of hate” to make jokes at a time like that and never check to make sure the person is alright. At the time, NYPD officers came to his residence to investigate an accusation that he scratched his daughter’s arm. Mook documented the incident on Instagram Live.

“Joe is a bozo,” he said on the podcast. “I thought me and Joe was all right. I ain’t know it was like that. He didn’t call to check and see if a n***a was alive or not. You know, it’s crazy a n***a want to worry about how you living, and [not] worry about if you living. Think about that. That’s wild.”

“That’s a special kind of hate,” Mook added. “You watching something happen that we stand up and march for. Police kill motherf*ckers all the time. We seen sh*t was going wrong. When you seen that, as a Black man, you supposed to be concerned about the person. Especially if you thought you was cool. You can roast them later. Find out if the n***a breathing first. That’s how real n****s do it. But that separates who is who and where we from.” He also went on to criticize Budden for not speaking on the allegations against Diddy sooner.

Eminem Returns With “Houdini”: 5 Standout Bars

After nearly 4 years, Eminem has finally returned with the promise of a new solo album titled The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The rapper confirmed that it will drop this summer. It has been marketed with several viral promotional videos and photos in the style of a crime documentary. Eminem’s lead single for the album, “Houdini” was released over the weekend, along with an off-the-wall music video that saw the rapper revisiting his roots. As always, Eminem’s new single has a ton of strange, bizarre, and patently out-of-pocket bars for us to examine. Without any further preamble, let’s dive into Eminem’s bars on “Houdini” and examine their structure and meaning.

1. Megan Thee Stallion Catches A Backhanded Shout Out

Throughout Eminem’s entire career, the Detroit native has been known to call out his peers and contemporaries with humorous jabs. In “Houdini,” it seems clear that Eminem holds fellow rap megastar Megan Thee Stallion in high regard, as he wonders aloud whether the Houston hottie would be willing to appear on a track with him. Towards the beginning of the song, Eminem raps “If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me/ Would I really have a shot at a feat?

This bar clearly references the incident where Meg was shot in the foot by her former partner Tory Lanez, which some fans on the internet have interpreted as a diss. Fortunately, it’s obvious that Eminem holds no genuine bad blood for Meg, as his diss bars tend to be significantly more scathing. You’d never catch the 51-year-old pondering the likelihood of a Benzino feature, that’s for sure.

2. The Bridge Offers Some Classic Eminem Insight

Later in “Houdini,” Eminem places a mirror on the world around him, by questioning “Sometimes I wonder what the old me would say/ If he could see the way sh** is today/ He’d probably say that everything is gay/ (Like happy) What’s my name, what’s my name?” Indeed, the old Marshall Mathers LP era Eminem would surely use the word “gay,” or a few other choice homophobic slurs to describe the state of modern media and pop culture.

LGBTQ activist groups frequently boycotted Eminem during the early years of his career, as many viewed his rampant use of homophobic slurs as highly offensive. Today, Eminem has stopped using slurs in his music, and has become a true ally to the LGBTQ cause, especially considering one of his own children identifies as non-binary.

3. It Wouldn’t Be An Eminem Song Without Puns

Eminem tends to utilize a lot of puns and silly wordplay in his rhymes, and “Houdini” is no exception. In the song, he makes reference to R. Kelly’s 2002 child pornography trial, which infamously saw the R&B legend filming himself while urinating on a 14-year-old girl. Eminem raps “In the coupe leaning back my seat/ Bumpin’ R. Kelly’s favorite group – the black guy pee’s.” Here, Eminem uses the phrase “black guy pees” as a humorous homonym for the band Black Eyed Peas. The bar isn’t much of a thinker, but it has made a splash with fans for its funny absurdity, proving that the “Lose Yourself” rapper has not lost his sense of humor.

4. One Of The More Confusing Bars Has Social Media In An Uproar

As previously stated, Eminem has a spotty relationship with the LGBTQ community, exemplified by many problematic lyrics spoken over the course of his career. In “Houdini,” Eminem makes a bizarre reference to trans identities with the bar “My transgender cat’s Siamese/ Identifies as black, but acts Chinese.” Users on social media have whipped themselves into a fervor trying to determine the meaning of this bar, and, perhaps more importantly, trying to decipher if it is transphobic. While the simplest explanation is that Siamese cats hail from Asia and often have black faces, some fans have taken to performing mental gymnastics to explain the lyric. For now, there’s no real way to be certain about the line’s true meaning.

5. Eminem Isn’t Holding Back, Even For His Own Kids

Toward the very end of “Houdini,” Eminem launches into a tirade of insults, maligning his friends and collaborators. In fact, Eminem’s own kids catch a stray. Closing out the final verse, Em spits “I’ll probably get sh** for that/ But you can all suck my d***, in fact/ F*** them, f*** Dre, f*** Jimmy, f*** me, f*** you/ F*** my own kids, they’re brats!” In the music video, this bar is accompanied by a shot of Eminem giving the middle finger to his children via FaceTime.

While “Houdini” showcases Eminem’s wacky early 2000s style, the video offers a wide array of insight into the concept of the Death Of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) album. If the tone and narrative of the video is anything to go off of, this project may just pan out to be one of Eminem’s funniest and most fascinating works of the last two decades.

Kanye West Sued For Sexual Harassment, Breach Of Contract, And Wrongful Termination By His Ex-Assistant

With a lawsuit alleging mistreatment at Donda Academy already in motion, Kanye West just received another lawsuit, making it his second in three months. The musician and fashion designer was sued for sexual harassment by his former assistant according to TMZ. Lauren Pisciotta also accuses West of breach of contract, wrongful termination, and hostile work environment.

Pisciotta, a former OnlyFans model, was hired by West in July 2021 after they met when West was putting together a fashion line. She also says she collaborated with him and worked on three songs on West’s Donda album.

Pisciotta says that West approached her after these collaborations and asked her to delete her OnlyFans account, citing his desire for her to be “God like.” West promised to pay her a $1 million per year if she did, so Pisciotta agreed. However, according to Pisciotta, things went left shortly after. She claims that she received a series of vulgar texts from West, like this one:

“See my problem is I be wanting to f*ck but then after I f*ck I want a girl to tell me how hard they been f*cked while I’m f*cking them. Then I want her to cheat on me …”

And this one:

“Is my d*** racist? It is. This f*cking racist d*** of mine. I going to beat this f*cking racist d*** for being f*cking racist. I’m going to stare at pictures of white woman with black asses and beat the sh*t out of my racist d*** … Beating the sh*t out of his big black c***.”

Pisciotta also accusses West of masturbating while on the phone with her and asking her if she could guess what he was doing. She claims West was also fixated on the size of her boyfriend’s penis. The lawsuit states that Pisciotta received a slew of text messages, sexual videos, and sexual photos from West, including two videos of him having sex with a model. After all of this, Pisciotta was promoted to Chief Staff for West’s companies with a salary of $4 million. It was short-lived, however, as Pisciotta was fired in October 2022. She claims she was offered a $3 million severance that she accepted by never received.

TMZ reached out to West’s representatives for comments, but as of press time, they have yet to receive a response.

Chance The Rapper Releases Snippet Of Possible “Star Line” Single & Fans Are Head Over Heels For It

Chance the Rapper certainly dug himself into a deep hole when he dropped his debut studio album The Big Day. The 2019 project did boast quite an impressive feature list of Smino, Nicki Minaj, Lil Durk, Gucci Mane to even Shawn Mendes. However, after a successful run of mixtapes — Coloring Book (2016), Acid Rap (2013), and 10 Day (2012) — fans were expecting greatness. But nearly everyone was left lost and extremely disappointed. After that, the once beloved figure from Chicago was viewed as washed up. The mood does seem to be changing around Chance the Rapper, though, especially with these new singles and snippets.

After a long run of features for about three years, 2022 saw him drop some new solo material. From songs like “Child of God” to the most recent “Together”, these singles are possible cuts for Star Line. Sometimes called Star Line Gallery, it has been getting a lot of hype thanks to Chance’s improved performances. Even his “Writing Exercise” loosies have people excited again and rightfully so.

Cardi confirmed she was working on a response to the song when fans called on her to get active on X. “I’m hopping in the booth after I go to the gym, do this Zoom and get my pedi… GET OFF YOUR BREAK AND MAKE ME A CHEESEBURGER,” she replied to one user.

Boosie Badazz is someone who has found himself in some bizarre situations in the past. Overall, he has also feuded with people online and sometimes, these beefs get a bit out of hand. One person who he seems to dislike quite a bit is none other than Charleston White. As many of you already know, White is a provocateur of sorts. He frequently makes out-of-pocket comments, and on more than one occasion, he has been able to go viral off of this strategy.

Recently, Boosie found himself in a situation where he was almost ambushed with an appearance from White. As the story goes, Boosie was going to be on stream with Adin Ross. However, Ross noted that White would be coming on stream, and that put an end to their collaboration. If you remember correctly, Vlad spoke up about this, noting that it was disgusting that Ross would try that with Boosie, while also looking to platform someone who was anti-semitic.
