In an exclusive interview on the Moguls in the Making podcast earlier this week, former Roc-A-Fella Records label head Dame Dash revealed that he almost became a rapper when his independent imprint was at risk of folding before the success of the UGK/Jay-Z single “Big Pimpin’”.
Dash claims that he almost grabbed the mic himself during the production of the song and claims that the song was about him and his lifestyle and not Jay-Z.
“In that moment, Roc-A-Fella was in trouble and if that ‘Big Pimpin” didn’t work, I was gon’ start rapping. [I don’t got bars, but] I would have just did it for the company.”
Dash also delved into the beef between Ja-Z and Nas, saying that he had “no fear” of violence between the two crews despite the bitter rivalry between the two.
“There was no fear of us getting hurt when it came to Nas. I’m telling you right now, there was no fear of any violence when it came to that,” he said. “There was no fear when it came to us of any battle that we had when it came to violence. We were never worried about that.”
He also added, “Now, ‘Pac and Biggie, n-ggas got killed. But n-ggas get killed in Hip Hop now. They be battling and then they end up dead. It’s a little more serious now.”
The West Finals are headed back to Minnesota. The Timberwolves secured their first Western Conference Finals victory in 20 years by defeating the Mavericks 105-100 in Dallas, extending their season and forcing a Game 5 on Thursday in Minnesota.

The Fat Boys released their self-titled debut album May 29, 1984, exactly four decades ago today (May 29). The Brooklyn trio, comprised of Prince Markie Dee, Kool Rock-Ski, and The Human Beat Box or “Buffy,” helped put beatboxing on the map, along with Doug E. Fresh.

Sadly, on December 10, 1995, Buff Love died of a heart attack in Rosedale, Queens, New York. He was 28 years of age and reportedly weighed 450 pounds. Prince Markie Dee passed away on February 18, 2021 from congestive heart failure during the height of the pandemic. Both of them will forever be missed. The only surviving member, Kool Rock Ski, s still active on social media, and regularly posts about the Fat Boys, and also produces Fat Boys merchandise which he promotes via Instagram. He is also the host of the annual Classic Hip-Hop and R&B Cookout in New York City, which began in the summer of 2021.
Sunday night, Bad Bunny was spotted at LIV Miami following a successful weekend of back-to-back shows at the Kaseya Center for his Most Wanted tour. The Puerto Rican superstar arrived at the club around 2 a.m. to celebrate his official after-party, where he was seen greeting fans and smoking hookah with friends.

On May 27, Azalea tweeted, “Who’s solana…? I don’t know that b*tch.” SZA’s full legal name is Solána Imani Rowe, so some thought Azalea was dissing SZA. But, in response to a user who wrote, “That’s @sza mother,” Azalea replied, “Girl im talking about crypto.” She added, “And I love sza too! not about to have Stan Twitter rope her into crypto sh*t hahaha lmaooo.”
As for what Azalea was talking about: Solana is a blockchain platform and the name of its native cryptocurrency, SOL.
Meanwhile, SZA recently vented about how she’s perceived, saying, “The only reason I’m defined as an R&B artist is because I’m Black. It’s almost a little reductive because it doesn’t allow space to be anything else or try anything else. Justin Bieber is not considered an R&B artist; he is a pop artist who makes R&B, folk music, or whatever his heart desires. I simply just want to be allowed the same opportunity to make whatever I want without a label, [without it being] based on the color of my skin, or the crew that I run with, or the beats that I choose. I want ‘F2F’ to be seen as what it is. I want ‘Nobody Gets Me’ to be seen as what it is. I want ‘Kill Bill’ to be seen as what it is.”
Kodak Black is an artist who has certainly been through a lot over the past few months. Overall, he had to deal with a stint in jail for drugs. Recently, Kodak Black could be seen on a yacht with his oldest son King Khalid Octave and the child’s mother. As you can see from the video, Kodak and his son look like identical twins. Moreover, the two seemed to be having a complete blast, as was Kodak’s BM. It was one of those videos that was extremely wholesome in nature. For fans, it was also further evidence that Kodak is looking healthier than he ever has before.
“He looks so much better now that he’s off them drugs,” one person wrote. “Kodak don’t get the flowers he deserve. He came in the game At 16 and changed it up,” said another. Needless to say, the fans are here for Kodak’s peace. It’s definitely not easy coming into the rap world at a young age, trying to navigate some of the perils that can come your way. Hopefully, Kodak is able to keep this up and can continue to find peace in family.

Diddy’s lawyer, Jonathan Davis, has responded to the new allegations brought up in Rolling Stone’s bombshell investigation into the Bad Boy mogul. In the piece, the outlet reports that Diddy allegedly once assaulted his college girlfriend at Howard University. In a statement Davis provided to the outlet after they reached out for comment, he implied the sourcing was “unreliable.”
“Mr. Combs cannot comment on settled litigation, will not comment on pending litigation, and cannot address every allegation picked up by the press from any source, no matter how unreliable,” Davis told the outlet. “We are aware that the proper authorities are conducting a thorough investigation and therefore have confidence any important issues will be addressed in the proper forum, where the rules distinguish facts from fiction.”

At one point in the Rolling Stone piece, the outlet cites a friend of Diddy’s college girlfriend who recalled a particularly disturbing incident. They claimed that Diddy showed up “belligerent” outside of their dorm and “screamed and hollered and acted a stone fool until she [the girlfriend] came downstairs.” Once she did, the classmate claims Diddy used a belt to hit her “all over the place” and was “screaming at the top of his lungs.” The outlet sourced multiple alleged witnesses of the incident. Another Howard alumni remarked that they aren’t surprised by Diddy’s legacy ending in “disgrace,” as the outlet puts it. “None of this was really a surprise for me,” they said. “You’re already an abuser [in college]. You were already feeling you had to have certain power over people.”

A few weeks ago, Macklemoreshed some much-needed light on the awful circumstances that are taking place between Israel and Palestine. Thousands upon thousands of natives from the latter are being murdered, misplaced, and etc. This tragedy is something that the Seattle rapper felt is not discussed enough amongst his peers, so he dropped “Hind’s Hall”. Macklemore has been in plenty of difficult situations in the past when talking about social issues in his career. But he decided to speak his mind unapologetically and he got a lot of well-deserved praise for talking about something he cannot directly relate to. Now, Belly, a native Palestinian, is joining him in the protest against the U.S. government on “Patience vs. Patients”.
In “Hind’s Hall”, Macklemore directly called out President Joe Biden for being a supporter of Israel’s attacks. “The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all“. The former collaborator of Ryan Lewis also called out the media for consistently covering the brutal DrakeKendrick Lamarfeud more than the ongoing bloody war in real life. However, Belly is not getting as direct on “Patience vs. Patients”. The track is much shorter, only clocking in at 1:20. Still, his words are just as important.
Belly’s overarching message is that will the government is showing hardly any signs of urgency, countless lives are continuing to be lost. He also highlights the number of lies being told by certain political parties. Finally, Belly also mentions that the Palestinians are still painted as the bad guys. “Kill us in broad day, then they blame the deceased / There was no change, even when we came with receipts / Cause we gave ’em to a nation of sheep“. Travis Scott had himself a very interesting week in Cannes recently. Overall, this is due to the fact that he found himself in the midst of a brawl with Tyga and Alexander AE Edwards. Although the origins of the feud are unknown, it is clear that Scott does not like these men very much. Thankfully, he has a lot of other things to look forward to. For instance, following his trip to Cannes, Scott went off to Saint-Tropez where he got to spend time with his children, Stormi and Aire.
According to TMZ, Scott was on a yacht with his two children. Furthermore, he brought some jet skis along with him. The famous artist had some company with him, as there were two mystery women riding jet skis alongside the Utopia creator. It has been an interesting few months for Scott. He is going on a European tour soon, and it has been reported that he is working on new music.
