“The Idol” To End One Episode Early

The Idol is a show that has proven to be extremely provocative. However, not everyone is a fan of this. Overall, some believe the show is simply too over the top and that the sex and torture scenes are just ridiculous. Quite frankly, these criticisms are valid. The show has displayed very little in terms of an actual through-line, and the characters never feel consistent in their motivations. That said, people are still tuning in because there is nothing more titillating than a trainwreck.

Interestingly enough, after Episode 4 which aired on Sunday, it was revealed that Episode 5 would be the season finale. Overall, this confused a whole lot of viewers. This is due to the fact that the show was originally going to be six episodes. Some thought that this was simply a mistake on HBO’s part. However, as it turns out, this was all very deliberate. According to a report from TV Line, Sam Levinson made some big changes to the show which ultimately led to an entire episode being cut.

“The Idol” Episode 5 Trailer

While this may seem surprising, it shouldn’t be. This entire show has been mired in controversy since the very beginning. Needless to say, it should come as no great surprise that entire episodes worth of content are being left on the cutting room floor. Moreover, there have been reports that this series will not get picked up for a second season. Although HBO has denied these reports, it is hard to imagine this show going anywhere from here.

At this point, we will just have to watch the finale to truly find out. However, based on the events of Episode 4, it is hard to imagine where this show even lands. Young Thug has been incarcerated for quite a while now as he awaits trial in the YSL RICO case. Overall, it has been a very tough predicament for the legendary artist. However, fans have remained hopeful that he will eventually be released. Moreover, fans got a gift this past Friday as Young Thug came through with a new album called Business Is Business. This new project features the likes of Travis Scott, Yak Gotti, Drake, 21 Savage, and even Future. Fans were stoked to get this project, and now, they’ve gotten even more.

Last night, Metro Boomin got to release his own version of Business Is Business. This version came with a brand-new tracklist as well as some extra songs. Of course, the song everyone is gravitating toward right now is “Money.” Overall, this is due to the fact that the song comes with features from the likes of Juice WRLD and even Nicki Minaj. Needless to say, this is a song that packs a strong punch when it comes to star power.

Young Thug Connects With Nicki Minaj and Juice WRLD

Upon listening to the track, you will immediately get hit with an old-timey sample that sticks around the whole track. Some people are going to love this and others are going to hate it very quickly. However, there is no doubt that the song is getting a reaction. As for the verses, Nicki Minaj and Thugger certainly did their thing. Moreover, Juice WRLD sounds great on the song, and this is one of his better posthumous efforts.

No matter what, fans are just excited to have some new Young Thug music. While getting the original album was great, these extra songs are certainly a nice touch. Travis Scott May Have Revealed “UTOPIA” Release Date With New Billboard

Travis Scott has been teasing fans to an absurd degree when it comes to UTOPIA. Overall, it has almost been five years since the release of Astroworld. Consequently, fans are feeling starved for new music. In many ways, this is reminiscent of how Kendrick Lamar took five years between Damn and Mr. Morale. Nevertheless, fans are still excited about this new project, and they are looking for all sorts of clues that could hint at when this album is going to be released.

So far, Travis Scott has provided plenty of context clues in the form of his “UTOPIA” briefcase. Typically, Mike Dean or other big-name artists can be seen with the briefcase. This is meant to be a hint of who is going to be featured on the project. Although, there is no guarantee these artists even make the final cut. Furthermore, UTOPIA was recently added to Travis Scott’s website, which has fans wondering about the next steps. Well, on Monday evening, billboards went up throughout Los Angeles. These billboards contain UTOPIA branding and they have some pretty glaring hints throughout.

Travis Scott Continues To Hint

In the tweet above, you can see that the billboard on the left showcases a clock with the hands pointing to 7:21. Moreover, there is another billboard with a lock combination that leads your eyes over to 07/21. When you do the deductions in your head here, you realize that July 21st jumps out at you. Upon doing some research, it is revealed that July 21st is on a Friday, which is when new music comes out. Consequently, fans are now convinced that UTOPIA is set to drop in 24 days from now.

However, it needs to be made clear that Travis Scott has yet to officially announce this release date. Instead, it is simply a theory based on the billboards. Although, given the timelines we have been made privy to over the past few weeks, perhaps this release date does make a lot of sense. Quavo & Offset Reportedly Have No Plans For New Music

Quavo & Offset certainly had fans going wild from the comfort of their homes on Sunday night. Overall, this is due to their incredible performance at the BET Awards. Many people thought they would never see this take place. Although they had been beefing for over a year, they came back together to honor Takeoff. It was a massive performance that felt cathartic for so many reasons. Moreover, it has led to lots of speculation about what the future may be for these two legendary artists.

According to TMZ, there are a few things to consider about the Quavo & Offset reunion. First and foremost, they have actually been cool for a few months at this point. However, they only went public with their rekindled camaraderie over the weekend. This is obviously a good sign as some were fearful that Sunday was some sort of one-off event. That said, fans should be wary of getting their hopes up in regard to new Migos music. For now, both men are going to hold off on a collab.

As the outlet reports, neither has an interest in dropping a collaborative song or album right now. Additionally, it is very much unknown whether or not they would call themselves Migos. What is known at this point, however, is that no one will replace Takeoff. Instead, it would simply remain a duo. This will come as good news to fans who want the group to keep its sanctity. After all, Takeoff is truly irreplaceable and it would be jarring to see someone else in the group.

Angela Bassett to Receive Honorary Oscar Award This November

Angela Bassett will be awarded with an honorary Oscar at this year’s Governors Awards. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that additional honorary awards will go to Mel Brooks and Carol Littleton.

Sundance Institute’s Michelle Satter will also receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Awards. According to Variety, the four awards will be presented on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, in Los Angeles.

“The Academy’s Board of Governors is thrilled to honor four trailblazers who have transformed the film industry and inspired generations of filmmakers and movie fans,” said Academy President Janet Yang. “Across her decades-long career, Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting. Mel Brooks lights up our hearts with his humor, and his legacy has made a lasting impact on every facet of entertainment. Carol Littleton’s career in film editing serves as a model for those who come after her. A pillar of the independent film community, Michelle Satter has played a vital role in the careers of countless filmmakers around the world.”

Bassett received her first Oscar nomination for her 1993 role as Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do With It? She also was recently nominated for her role as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Ja Morant Will Not be Charged by Colorado Authorities, Will Miss Next 4 Games

Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Zach Kleiman is cosigning Ja Morant’s suspension. Speaking in a media scrum, Kleiman believes the 25-game suspension is “appropriate.”

“We’re certainly disappointed with the behavior that transpired as we got into the off-season, Kleiman said. “The discipline from the NBA was appropriate, and I think the thing to focus on at this point, and there is an ongoing discussion with the league union and his representatives, but what Ja is going to commit to going forward?”

He added, “We did acknowledge early on this would be ongoing, and Ja wasn’t going to be the best version of himself overnight, and there are many serious steps he needs to take. There are no strains in the relationship, but we have high expectations in the standard that Ja will have to hold himself to.”

Ja Morant has received his suspension, but some of his true feelings are coming out. Following his suspension, Morant and his team is said to believe that he thinks the NBA and media are out to get him.

According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon, Morant thinks there is a coordinated effort against him.

“I have heard indirectly that Ja and people close to Ja, perhaps people formerly close to Ja, have this feeling that the NBA out to get them,” McMahon said. “That the media is out to get them.”

Following the announcement of a 25-game suspension, Nike released a statement supporting Ja Morant. The statement came minutes after Silver’s decision, offering support during his forthcoming suspension.

“We are pleased that Ja is taking accountability and prioritizing his well-being,” Nike said. “We will continue to support him on and off the court.”

The NBA Players Association is speaking out against the length of the suspension received by Ja Morant.
