Tay-K Shares Snippet Of New Music With Fans

Tay-K has treated his fans to a clip of some new music earlier today. An ad released for new Rugr@ merch is soundtracked by some new Tay-K music. The rapper has been behind bars since 2019 when he was convicted in a murder trial. But thankfully for his fans he’s found a way to keep writing and recording new material. The rapper recently promised new music to his fans when he got to send them a message through a recently created Discord server.

Back in March, Tay-K sent his fans a letter through his Instagram account. In the letter he dove into his feelings on the various things that have happened to him in the past few years. He also hoped that his story had inspired other to live better lives. The letter referenced the ongoing #FreeTayK movement which has been pushing for his release for years. In a tweet following the letter’s release Tay-K thanked fans for their continued support and attempts to get him released. He also declared that much of the misinformation surrounding him would eventually be cleared up.

Tay-K’s New Music Soundtracking Ad

Tay-K’s hit song “The Race” has been certified platinum and hit the Top 50 of the Hot 100 since it was released. But the rapper’s legal issues go back to before the song achieved so much success. The day it was released he was already on the run from U.S. Marshals. He was ultimately found guilty in a murder trial that landed him a 55-year sentence behind bars.

Even if Tay-K were to get his current sentence re-evaluated, he’s still facing ongoing legal matters. He was indicted for a second murder charge back in 2019 of 23-year old Mark Anthony Saldivar. He’s currently still awaiting a trial for that charge which could significantly complicate his legal matters. Despite this, many fans have been vocal online pushing for his status to be re-evaluated. some claim that he had inadequate legal council while others say he was set up by those in his circle. What do you think of Tay-K’s new song snippet? Let us know in the comment section below.

Fat Joe Credits DaBaby For His Comeback After Being “Canceled”

After DaBaby made homophobic remarks back in 2021 at Rolling Loud Miami, the backlash that followed made many believe his career was over. However, despite there still being a conversation around whether it’s warranted, the Charlotte rapper has sustained a career in hip-hop since. No matter what side you fall on of that debate, it’s clear that a lot has changed in the years that followed for him, whether from a personal or career standpoint. In addition, his efforts to revitalize himself and get back into the game have gotten a lot of props and praise from fellow industry figures. The latest to tip his hat is Fat Joe, who commended him for working hard and moving past that dark chapter in his life.

“As far as I’m concerned, DaBaby uncanceled himself,” Fat Joe remarked. “The guy’s a beast. DaBaby the rapper is unbelievable. I’ve seen him fighting back and he went from being the biggest in the world to getting canceled to fighting. You know, still making money and all that, but I’ve seen him on the grind. Every time I’ve seen him, I’ve said ‘Yo, stay strong. Stay focused, stay this.’ ‘Cause I think DaBaby and them are the new Terror Squad.

“The man wouldn’t stop working, wouldn’t give up,” Fat Joe continued. “A lot of people give up. When you got the whole media, everybody going against you, most people are not built for the war. I’m explaining to you guys, DaBaby is ready for war! And he is battle-tested, and he smelled this money, he said ‘No, no, no.’ And then through being positive and fighting and going all out for himself, he punched a hole through the atmosphere. And now he’s poppin’! He is uncanceled!”

You might disagree on the musical or personal front, since many think his artistry fell off. Still, given the “BOP” MC’s new music this year, perhaps there is still more massive success left in his career. Regardless, surely this debate won’t die down anytime soon. Lola Brooke: The Rise Of A Formidable Force In Rap

Lola Brooke is still in the beginning stage chapters of her career, and some big things have already happened in it. The New York rapper has already released several viral songs, appeared at music festivals, and is one of the 2023 XXL Freshmen. Lola’s distinct vocal delivery helps set her apart from her contemporaries, but she has also worked with many of them. Her music’s energy and aggression are what draw many listeners in. She has only released singles but listeners eagerly await a full project ‌from her. With her being selected as an XXL Freshman this year, anyone still unfamiliar will find out exactly what she can do in the cypher and freestyle segments from the publication.

Lola Brooke’s Influences: From Family & Rap Legends

Lola Brooke started in Brooklyn, where she was born in the late ’90s. Her mother became a widow after she was born. Her musical origins connect directly to her cousin, Jah, whom she made music with on Pro Tools. These sessions happened at her Aunt’s house, but enjoying music and dancing were a constant among all her family members.

Her musical influences are artists from the late 2000s and beyond, such as Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, and Meek Mill. However, she also admired legendary women in the rap game, such as Foxy Brown and Missy Elliott. In terms of writing music, she spoke with Flaunt about how it birthed from her diary and journal entries. Music was a form of expression for her where she could share thoughts she wasn’t comfortable having conversations about. Her stage name is a combination of the Looney Tunes character Lola Bunny and her hometown.

Lola Brooke Has Released Multiple Singles

Lola dropped her first music video for a song called “2017 Flow” in 2017. Next, she released “Not The Same” and “Sh*ttin’ Me.” However, she skyrocketed in popularity with her single “Don’t Play With It,” which featured Billy B, in 2021. In 2023, she released a remix that featured two other chart-topping names in the rap game: Latto and Yung Miami.

In 2022 she released “Here I Come,” and in 2023, she appeared on “Conceited” with Flo Milli and fellow New York artist Maiya The Don. Her singles from 2023 include “So DISRESPECTFUL,” which loosely connects to the 50 Cent song of the same name. Additionally, “Just Relax” samples and interlopes the iconic “The Choice is Yours (Revisited)” by the New York duo Black Sheep. Lola stated that her debut project’s name is Lil Big Momma, but she has not shared a release date yet.

Lola Brooke Has Already Met Rap & Culture Titans

Lola Brooke has already made multiple festival and concert appearances. These include being brought out during Future’s concert at the Barclays Center and by Pharrell at his Something in the Water Festival. She’s also had her own sets at Rolling Loud NYC and other festivals. She most recently appeared on a few tour dates with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.

These co-signs extend even further as she’s received them from other New York figures like DJ Envy and Jadakiss. Lola shared that her Mom and aunties were big fans of Jadakiss, too, making their meeting even more memorable. She also appeared among legends when she was on the ABC documentary Hip-Hop at 50: Rhythms, Rhymes and Reflections. Hosted by Angie Martinez, she sat with MC Lyte, fashion designer June Ambrose, host Melissa Ford, and Roc Nation President Shari Bryant.

The chapters in Lola Brooke’s music journey continue to expand every day. She’s done interviews that showcase her character outside of the music and is active on social media with her listeners. In June, she was announced as a member of the 2023 XXL Freshman class. With her constantly elevating in popularity, this was no surprise to her listeners. Once a group that featured only men, Lola holds her own amongst the men and stands with fellow women TiaCorine and GloRilla. Lola getting her chance to shine here will bring even more eyes to her career, and she’ll bring them with her when she releases her debut project, Lil Big Momma, in the near future.

Dana White Hypes Up Cage Fight Between Elon Musk And Mark Zuckerberg

Celebrity boxing matches have become all the rage in recent years However, the most recently announced fight is perhaps the most bizarre yet. Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight. Perhaps more bizarrely still, Zuckerberg agreed to the bout.

There is no love lost between the two tech giants. Zuckerberg, who already owns Facebook, is reportedly working on a Twitter competitor called Threads. The fight rhetoric came about as a result of a tweet spree from Musk. To many people’s surprise, Zuckerberg accepted the challenge, writing “Send Me Address” on his Instagram story.

While some have claimed that the move is way for Musk to divert headlines away from the connection between Starlink and the Titan submersible disaster, both men are “dead serious” about the fight according to the UFC’s Dana White. In fact, White appears to be all-in on the idea of the two duking it out in the cage.

White Speaks To Monetary Opportunity Of Musk-Zuckerberg Fight

On the sincerity of the fight, White, as mentioned, assured TMZ that both men were “dead serious” about taking part. Furthermore, White gushed about the monetary potential of a Musk v Zuck bout. “The biggest fight of all time was Floyd and Conor, I just think it triples that — it triples what that did, there’s no limit on what that thing can make.”

The potential for a record-breaking fight is certainly there, if not for the reasons White thinks. It’s likely that most viewers would be tuning in purely for the spectacle of two unhealthy white billionaires humiliating themselves while trying to prove that they are the alpha tech dog.

Furthermore, White’s insertion into the proceedings is likely an attempt to get UFC, the premier MMA promotion around, in on the action. While the UFC is not exactly wanting for money, this spectacle could be exactly the thing the promotion needs in light of Paul v. Diaz and Crawford v. Spence Jr.

UFC Going All In On Spectacle Fights

Musk v Zuck is not the only thing marquee fight that the UFC is angling for. There are also reports that a fight offer has been formally submitted to Tyson Fury by the promotion. That “hybrid fight” bout would pit Fury, one of the all-time greatest boxers against Jon Jones, the UFC superstar.

The idea of a Fury-Jones fight came about as a result of comments made by Joe Rogan. “You want to talk about who’s the baddest man on the planet?” Rogan asked. “If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’m pushing all of my chips on black. [Fury] doesn’t have a fucking chance in hell of making it out of that room.”

As Fury gave an expletive-laden response to Rogan, Jones also got his shots in on the heavyweight champion. “Hey Tyson, it seems like Joe may have struck a nerve,” Jones said on Twitter. “I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage.” Furthermore, Jones issued a challenge to Fury in a follow-up tweet. “If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give Dana a call. I’ll help you out.”

Lil Xan Speaks On “NODA” Ahead of June 30th Release

Hip-Hop Artist Lil Xan gears up for releasing his new single entitled “NODA,” which acts as his comeback track from a musical hiatus. Lil Xan reintroduces himself on a mildly acoustic and optimistic beat, showcasing how his emo and quietly mournful sound has evolved. The single serves as an introspective summer anthem and comes after his dedicated, personal journey into sobriety.

“NODA,” an acronym for ‘Not On Drugs Anymore,’ is Lil Xan’s self-aware announcement to fans of his sobriety. “ The fans are everything so I appreciate them letting me take that time off and being respectful. Now I’m ready to show out and give them what they want. ” says Lil Xan. Recently signed to CAA, the rapper is ready to establish a new connection with his fans. In “NODA” Lil Xan announces he is “climbing to the top” and wants everyone to know that for him “ getting to the top is getting enlightened, getting older, and more mature. It is about becoming a better person, a better human being.”

Kodak Black Eats Random Fan’s Food Inside Florida Nightclub

KODAK BLACK MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME EPISODE 155 11 42 screenshot

Kodak Black is a superstar in his own right, which means he always gets what he wants. The “Tunnel Vision” rapper was recently hanging out at a nightclub in Florida when he randomly started eating a random fan’s food.

Luckily, the females whose food it was were great sports, even recording Kodak Black as he went to town on their meals. At one point, they asked Kodak if the food was good, and he rubs his stomach and does a happy dance. They then commented, “It’s yours now.”

His food looked like plantains and rice, or what was left of their once hearty meals.

This definitely isn’t the first time Kodak has had wild eating moments. Back in 2021, the 26-year-old rapper was seen eating a salad off a dining room table… leaving some fans disgusted.

But hey. If you’re hungry, you’re hungry.

In other news, Kodak recently got in his acting bag, making his debut in a short film called The Don. The movie was not only written and directed by Kodak, but he also stars in it, playing a frustrated crime boss who has to face his old enemies. This coincided with the release of his most recent project titled Pistolz & Pearlz.

Reggie Bush, Terrell Owens, Karen Civil Celebrate Juneteenth At Change The Game x TravisMathew Celebrity Golf Event

1500000152

It’s officially Juneteenth in Los Angeles, and the weather could not be more beautiful. So what better way to spend the holiday than on the golf course?!

On Monday, June 19th, Change The Game and lifestyle apparel company TravisMathew collided to throw the ultimate celebrity Topgolf event, bringing out a slew of athletes and entertainers to partake in the festivities. The exclusive, invite-only event saw appearances from Reggie Bush, Terrell Owens, Karen Civil, Tommie Harris, Don Benjamin, TJ Ward, Robert Richard, and many more.

Founded by Brian Amlani, Change The Game Sports Series is a Los Angeles-based firm who works with a diverse roster of talent to push the agenda of diversity in sport through the lens of culture. The day began with an inspirational panel discussion with speaker/entrepreneur Karen Civil and NFL veteran Tommie Harris, before the highly-anticipated Celebrity Golf Shootout Challenge. Following the golf portion, the evening concluded with a Players’ Night Out Party.

The Source had the opportunity to speak with attendees to discuss what Juneteenth meant to them, and what it means to be golfing on the holiday.

Visual Portfolio, Posts & Image Gallery for WordPress

Don Benjamin:

What does Juneteenth mean to you?

Freedom. Culture. Opportunities. Awareness. All those things bubble into one for me.

What’re you most excited for today on the golf course?

I love it man. I love that the culture is tapping into golf. I’m new to it still, but, but it’s a dope thing. It’s dope for the youth to have something new to dive into, instead of just basketball or football. I’m trying to spread the awareness on it. It’s cool to be here golfing, Topgolf LA. It’s gonna be dope, I’m excited.

Reggie Bush:

What does Juneteenth mean to you?

Juneteenth is about the celebration of African American culture, and bringing people together. Also really informing people too, about black history to where we are now currently. Just educating people on those things. It’s a celebration of culture, life, also moving forward too. The progress needs to be as much a part of the conversation as well.

What’re you most excited for today on the golf course?

Anytime I get a chance to swing the sticks, I’m happy. I’m in my happy place. I’m always working on my game. I’m always tinkering. I’m always trying to fine tune the little things, the fundamentals. It’s like a puzzle you’re always trying to put together. When I was a kid, I had these big, massive puzzle puzzles. I’d always feel a little overwhelmed because they were so big, you always try to find those right pieces. Golf is that same way, you’re always trying to find those right pieces to put into that puzzle for each swing. I’m always excited to swing the golf clubs.

Terrell Owens:

What does Juneteenth mean to you?

Us to really represent ourselves. For so many years, there’s so many things that have happened, where we don’t really get our just due. Not to mention all the social injustice things that have happened over the course of the last two or three years. But again, this is a moment, a day for us to represent. Really stand up and really show who we are. It’s all about the culture.

What’re you most excited for today on the golf course?

I’m just excited to be here. I don’t claim to be a golfer by any means. Like I tell people, I’m a realist as far as my skill set and my talents, and what I put forth my efforts in. Golf is not something that I really delved into, to say okay, I’m nice at this. Anything else, I got you. Golf? I’m just here to have fun and support my friends that are doing this event.

Karen Civil:

What does Juneteenth mean to you?

It’s fellowship. It’s coming together, celebration. Black people, independence, and it feels good. Moving to California where I really got an understanding of Juneteenth and the importance of it. To be out now with Change The Game who are creating sports initiatives for people of color, to include us. We’re at the golf range right now, this is very fun. It’s about fellowship, coming together. Seeing black men here, seeing black people.

Are you a golfer?

That’s the whole premise of this. I’m excited that I’m not, I’m very amateur. But the fact that TravisMatthew, Change The Game, Topgolf are coming together. To teach us golf, getting us together. Let us have a good day. Again, it’s about the fellowship. We have food, music, cigars, just hanging out. It’s a nice way to celebrate us.

TJ Ward:

What does Juneteenth mean to you?

Independence, for our culture. It’s not July 4th, it’s not America’s independence. No, it’s our independence — well, somewhat independence. It means a lot. It means we become fully ourselves at some point, regardless of what the government and the little nuances in between. But it means freedom.

Are you a golfer?

I’m a golfer for sure.

Robert Ri’chard:

What does Juneteenth mean to you?

It’s important to be out here. Juneteenth right now represents sort of a new America. All of us can feel that we’ve been enslaved before. To be out here and be welcomed into a traditionally all white sport where we’re here, it’s an affluent sport. But we have all these men in the community coming from every walk of life. Embracing everyone, inviting us to be out here. We’ve got brands here, it’s important to show that credibility. It’s a family affair, so it’s good. Coming off of Father’s Day, it’s important we have these people in the community doing this for us.

What’re you most excited for today on the golf course?

I’m really excited for the camaraderie. I love the community. I love the conversations that happen on the golf course, they can be life-changing. To be able to be invited here and to benefit from that is great.
