Burna Boy And 21 Savage Seen Filming Music Video After Song Leak

Burna Boy and 21 Savage were beaten to the release of “Sittin’ On Top Of the World” by an online leaker. On June 22, the vintage afrobeat track was put up by a third party and widely shared across social media.

On June 23, Burna Boy released the song’s official audio on his YouTube channel. Furthermore, the song has also been made available on Spotify. At the time of writing, it has been streamed a little over 7000 times.

It’s unclear whether the duo were planning to release the track, or had their hand forced after it was leaked. However, the official audio release and Spotify drop indicate that they may have simply had their premier stolen out from under them. More evidence to this theory has appeared online, with footage of the pair apparently filming a music video together.

“Sittin’ On Top Of The World” Music Video Coming?

Shared by 2Cool2Bl0g, the brief footage shows the pair performing on a soundstage surrounded by cameras. At this point, it feels safe to say that they had intend to release “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” with or without the leaker beating them to it.

For Burna Boy, it’s his second big collab of the last 12 months. In 2022, he released “For My Hand”, which featured Ed Sheeran. Elsewhere, he also served as the featured artist on Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s “Mera Na” earlier in 2023.

Meanwhile, it’s 21 Savage’s third time as a featured artist this year. First, he featured alongside DaBaby on Gucci Mane’s “06 Gucci”. Then he joined Young Nudy for “Peaches & Eggplants”, which peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Unreleased Drake Song Heard In Houston Club

However, Burna Boy and 21 Savage aren’t the only people to have their unreleased music show up online. Area 29, located in Westwood in southwest Houston, treated fans to a reportedly unreleased track from Drizzy earlier this week.

Footage from inside the club was shared by Our Generation Music on Instagram. However, fans in the comments were not blown away by the song. Furthermore, others felt that Drake came off as “sassy.”

In other news surrounding Drake releases, the rapper appeared to confirm that he would be featuring on Business Is Business, the upcoming album from Young Thug. In fact, Drake appears twice on the album, featuring on “Parade On Cleveland” and “Oh U Went”.

Jim Jones May Be Striking Back With A Pusha T Diss Track

Jim Jones appears to be working on new music. A new Instagram post reveals that the rapper may even be cooking up a response to Pusha T’s recent diss track. In the clip, Jones is seen firing off bars into a hanging microphone, and some note that the bars appear to reference Pusha T. He raps over the same music from the Clipse track Pusha T recently debuted at the Louis Vuitton runway show in Paris.

The track, tentatively titled “Chains ’n Whips,” seemingly called out Jones, who had a lot to say about Pusha T earlier this year. He ranked Pusha T at No. 29 on Billboard‘s list of the “Top 50 Greatest Rapper of All Time.” “Nobody wants to be like Pusha T,” Jones told the outlet in April. “I don’t know too many n****s in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T. Pusha T don’t hold no weight out here. He not pushing no shit out here,” he added.

Jim Jones Appears To Reference Pusha T

Pusha T’s verse on “Chains ’n Whips” goes as follows: “Beware of my name, that there’s delegate / You know I know where you’re delicate / Crush you to pieces, I’ll hum a breath of it / I will close your heaven for the hell of it / You think it’d be valor amongst veterans / I’m watching your fame escape relevance / We all in a room but here’s the elephant / You chasing a feature out of your element.”

Following the debut, Jones took to Instagram to respond. “Let me know if they serious cause my name is my name #Capo,” he wrote, adding “Let me know when they really ready.” “That verse did not make the list champ it was cute,” he later said, “That was not a top 50 verse.” He doubled-down, adding “Not at all. Still not in my top 50.” Regardless, it appears as though he plans to fire back soon.

Nick Cannon has a lot of kids. 12 is the exact number at the time of writing. A lot has been said about Cannon’s proclivity for procreation, especially by Cannon himself. This has often landed him hot water, when he has joked about impregnating women like Taylor Swift and Bianca Blair.

What has also gotten him in trouble is the issues that come with having so many children with so many women. In chronological order from the last few months, Cannon has forgotten the name of one of his children. Furthermore, he admitted that he may have sent some Mother’s Day cards to the wrong people. Additionally, he’s been accused of not paying child support to certain women because of how many kids he has.

However, Cannon is having to navigate the waters of telling his kids that they have a lot of siblings. “As much as that may be a wish of mine, I’ve got to respect that’s not a wish of everyone’s,” Cannon said about getting all 12 kids in the same room. “I think that we’ll get there. One of the things I’ve witnessed from some of my elders in the game, once the children get of age to make their own decisions, it’ll happen. Because they’re currently under their mothers’ jurisdiction, I’m trying to play by the moms’ rules. But once they can make their own decisions, I would hope and pray that we’ll have established a strong enough relationship that they’ll want to come hang out with me.”

Apparently, the issue has come up recently regarding his six-year-old son Golden. “I think he’s kind of already figured it out. He knows he has other siblings. Even within his own house, he’s not an only child,” Cannon continued. “He knows about his older siblings. He’s been around the younger ones. He’s been around them, just nobody talks about it. It’s not like, ‘This is your brother or your sister. And I think the school that he’s in, he’s on the internet. He knows his dad is known for having a lot of kids,” he noted, though he said the second grader has never asked. The time is now before another kid at the school says [something],” he suggested. “But I think it’s not going to be a difficult conversation.”

Mac Miller’s “Watching Movies With The Sound Off” 10th Anniversary Edition Is Here

On June 18, 2013, Mac Miller released his second studio album, and the one that arguably marked his first major mainstream evolution as an artist. Of course, true fans will credit earlier projects like Macadelic with that achievement, but for many, Watching Movies With The Sound Off was the Pittsburgh MC’s true next step. Moreover, those who love his music or just respect him as a one-of-a-kind artist celebrated the album’s tenth anniversary online. Now, they have another way to fully celebrate this landmark LP, with his estate and Rostrum Records releasing a special edition of Watching Movies for its tenth birthday. Still, there’s few edits and tweaks to make to an album that was already beloved on impact.

First, let’s start with what’s new on Watching Moves With The Sound Off‘s tenth anniversary edition. The original version of the tone-setting album opener, “The Star Room,” appears at the end of the album’s tracklist (including bonus songs). On it, the most notable difference is the different vocal takes and the different interpretation of the beat. In comparison to the version released in 2013, the instrumental and sample flip is much moodier and more meditative for Mac Miller’s flow to ride.

Mac Miller’s Watching Movies 10th Anniversary Edition’s OG Version Of “The Star Room”

In addition, Mac’s alternate persona Delusional Thomas doesn’t appear on the OG version of “The Star Room,” a character represented by the more high-pitched vocals. Also, the original recording features some brief words from Earl Sweatshirt, which are a subtle but welcome addition, especially considering that their collab “I’m Not Real” appears shortly after in the tracklist. Finally, the special edition’s vinyl (which you can find here) contains an exclusive track from Mac Miller titled “The Quest.” Other than that, it’s the same Watching Movies you know and love from the late legend.

Meanwhile, the artist’s posthumous catalog remains respectfully limited outside of album reissues, although Madlib recently said that Maclib is coming soon. As such, there will be much more Mac to celebrate, whether for his unearthed gems or his forever enduring catalog. Ginuwine Talks “Pony” And Being A Sex Symbol On “Drink Champs”

This week’s Drink Champs guest was R&B legend Ginuwine. First breaking onto the music scene as part of The Swing Mob in the early 90s, Ginuwine’s solo work later in the decade. 1996’s “Pony” was the musician’s first solo single and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, the song has become a pop culture (and bedroom) staple.

While he has never had a number-one album, he is a six-time platinum recording artist. 100% Ginuwine and The Life both peaked in the top five, while The Senior and A Man’s Thoughts were top-ten albums. While he hasn’t released any new music since 2011, he still performs regularly and is widely considered one the brightest stars of late 90s R&B.

Ginuwine Gets Honest On “Drink Champs”

There was a lot for Ginuwine to talk about with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN. Of course, the best place to start would be “Pony”. In doing so, Ginuwine paid tribute to the legendary Static Major. “I always felt like anything could’ve been put to ‘Pony,’ and it would’ve been a hit. [DeVante Swing] played that song and he was like, ‘This gon’ be for the bodyguards.’ I’m looking at him like… I was like, ‘Dude, please give me that,’” Ginuwine noted. “Y’all heard it in ‘96, but we recorded it in ‘93. Rest in peace, Static Major, because he wrote it. I helped write the verses, but he wrote the song, so I don’t take no credit for that. The hook was already done when I came in there,”

That led to questions about how the musician felt about being considered a sex symbol.  “For me, I started in ‘90. So I made it in ‘96. I knew nothing else but to make good music and come from the heart. Love music, soul music, and all that. Once I started that, I didn’t know how big it was going to be.” On a similar note, Ginuwine addressed how he felt about women throwing their underwear on stage. “I never really strategically planned anything like that, but I always remembered my mom back in the days saying, ‘The ladies used to throw panties for Marvin Gaye.’ I never really planned that, but I welcomed that of course.” Be sure you check out the full interview for yourself.

Kanye West’s Trademark Application Reveals He May Be Expanding Into AI

A recent trademark application by Kanye West hints that he may be looking to broaden his horizons. The trademark includes services like animal boarding, hotel services, cake decorating, youth hostel services, and more. The application, under the brand YZY SHLTR, also notably hints at Ye delving into the world of AI. It lists “rental of robots for cooking,” as well as “rental of robots for preparing beverages.”

It’s clear that Kanye is looking to expand his empire with his latest trademarks. Just last month, Ye also applied to trademark “YZY SOCK SHOES,” listing “Socks; socks with leather soles,” in documents. The sock-shoes in question emulate those seen being worn by Ye and his wife Bianca Censori as of late. The news also came shortly after adidas revealed plans to sell nearly $1 billion worth of unsold Yeezy shoes.

CEO of adidas, Bjorn Gulden, explained at the time that “Burning those shoes cannot be the solution.” “What we are trying to do now over time is to sell parts of this inventory and donate money to the organizations that are helping us and that were also hurt by Kanye’s statements,” he explained. The brand cut ties with Ye in 2022 after he publicly made several anti-Semitic comments.

Adidas chose to donate the proceeds from the remaining sales to various charitable causes. Proceeds are going to the Anti-Defamation League and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change, which is run by the brother and sister-in-law of George Floyd. “We believe this is the best solution as it respects the created designs and produced shoes,” Gulden explained. “It works for our people, resolves an inventory problem, and will have a positive impact in our communities. There is no place in sport or society for hate of any kind and we remain committed to fighting against it.”
