Chris Brown Unveils His Brand-New “NAMI” Slides

Chris Brown remains one of the biggest artists in the entire world. Overall, he has been having a solid last few months. For instance, just this weekend, he got to perform at Something In The Water. Moreover, he got quite a bit of praise from Pharrell throughout the proceedings. This has subsequently led to all sorts of photo dumps in which Brown has shown love back to the legendary producer. Aside from the music world, however, it seems as though Chris Brown has some cool projects on the horizon.

Just this morning, the singer and acclaimed dancer took to Instagram with an announcement. As you will see down below, Brown is teaming up with The Auracles, as well as Nos Ailes. Firstly, The Auracles is a multimedia company that has found itself in the footwear and streetwear spaces. Secondly, Nos Ailes is a company that makes 3D-printed footwear. The three are now coming together for a special slide, simply called “NAMI.” As you can see from the Instagram post below, this slide has a unique shape to it.

Chris Brown Has Some New Slides Dropping Soon

Overall, this new slide is very cool and is very much in line with Chris Brown and his sense of fashion. Additionally, there will be some interesting colorways to start out. For the most part, they are monochromatic, which makes sense when you consider the design aesthetic here. As for the release date on these, nothing has been revealed just yet. Instead, Brown has simply made a note that these will be coming out in the month of May. Furthermore, he heavily implies that these slides were made specifically with the summer in mind.

As for Chris Brown and his musical endeavors, it remains to be seen when he will be dropping another album. However, when he does, you know there is going to be a whole lot of material. The artist is known for dropping projects with up to 40 tracks. That said, fans are looking forward to whatever he drops next. As for the slides, let us know what you think about them, in the comments section below.

Ice Spice & Taylor Swift Collab Dropping Soon, EZMNY Records President Claims

Ice Spice has been in the spotlight for less than a year now, but already she’s been a part of some seriously impressive collaborations. She and fellow New Yorker Lil Tjay showed out on “Gangsta Boo” from her debut EP (even if their music video shoot was derailed by an unexpected arrest) and English songstress Pinkpantheress brought her onto “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2,” which quickly became a success on TikTok and other platforms. More recently, the 23-year-old crossed her dream feature off of her bucket list thanks to Nicki Minaj’s appearance on the “Princess Diana (Remix).” Seeing as it’s hard to top the Queen of Rap, the Spice Cabinet has been wondering who she’ll work with next.

If the latest gossip from EZMNY Records President Shawn Barron is true, then the answer may surprise you. During a recent appearance on the One More Time Podcast, the industry executive revealed that the bodacious redhead is apparently working on a song with country-turned-pop star, Taylor Swift. Rumour has it that Spice could make an appearance on the blonde singer’s next release, which would follow her highly successful surprise Midnights album from late 2022. Of course, nothing has been confirmed just yet, though the two stars did share a sweet moment on stage at the iHeartRadioAwards in March.

Are Taylor Swift and Ice Spice Working Together?

At the time, Spice and her foreign collaborator presented the “Fifteen” hitmaker with the Song of the Year award for “Anti-Hero.” As XXL notes, Isis Gaston also spoke with Nylon about her favourite breakup song, which is Swift’s 2012 classic, “We Are Never Getting Back Together.” Taylor doesn’t have a ton of joint songs in her discography, and she typically works with other pop artists, so it’ll certainly be interesting to hear how she and the “Bikini Bottom” hitmaker bring their wildly different sounds together on one single.

Elsewhere in the news, the east coast rap diva dropped a hint over the weekend that we may see her at this evening’s Met Gala. Rihanna has also confirmed that she’ll be attending, setting up a seriously stacked guest list ahead of the big red carpet reveal. Tap into Barron’s full interview on the One More Time podcast below, and let us know if you’d stream a Taylor Swift x Ice Spice joint track in the comments.

Jack Harlow “Jackman” First Week Sales Projections

Jack Harlow stunned the masses with the release of Jackman. His follow-up to 2022’s Come Home The Kids Miss You, the latest opus from the Louisville, KY native further cements his place in the history books. Some might still feel reluctant to embrace him but he’s undoubtedly taking notes of the criticism and fixing up his game with each release. Jackman, so far, earned him unanimous praise across the board, especially due to his maturity and self-awareness.

The rapper’s latest album likely won’t sell as much as his sophomore album but he’s still on pace to make a splash on the charts. According to Hits Daily Double, Jackman is on pace to move anywhere from 45K to 50K in its first week. It’s a major drop from Come Home The Kids Miss You, which reached #3 on the Billboard 200 with 113K units in total. However, Jackman also arrived without much of a rollout or a lead single to propel its commercial success. Overall, it’s still a win for Jack as he aims for a top 10 debut.

Jack Harlow First Week Projections

The release of Jack Harlow’s new album comes shortly after the trailer of White Men Can’t Jump. The remake of the 1992 classic finds Harlow in his first-ever starring role alongside Sinqua Walls. The film’s drummed up plenty of hype since it was first announced but with the release of the trailer, it seems like fans are more than impressed with Harlow’s acting chops. With a May 19th release date set, we’re anticipating to see if the remake will live up to the original.

Overall, things are in a good space for Jack Harlow these days and it looks like he’ll be getting even deeper into the film world following White Men Can’t Jump. The rapper was recently tapped to star in the Apple Orginal Film The Instigators. Harlow joins an impressive cast including Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Ving Rhames, Ron Perlman, and more. While Harlow has already earned praise from rap’s elite, such as Kanye and Drake, perhaps, we could expect his acting chops to receive similar acclaim from Hollywood’s equivalent. Timbaland Hires Public Speaking Coach

Timbaland is someone we know for making the beats of our favorite songs. He’s always been the strong silent type. Even in music videos, half the time, Timbaland is doing his trademark raised eyebrow and that’s it. Moreover, Timbo is making efforts to change that. In a recent interview with Variety, the super producer shared that he has spent time working on his public persona.

Additionally, Timbaland mentioned that he needed to do this due to his being naturally introverted. “I’ve never felt great in my speaking,” the platinum producer told the publication. “And [in interviews], the old Tim used to be real short with my answers, a little grumpy, never elaborate,” Timbaland continued. Not only that, the “Try Again” producer further explained he’s an introvert at his core and expresses himself through his music. Secondly, Tim continued sharing with Variety that he’s realizing people want to hear him speak.

Timbaland’s Been Working On Himself

He told the outlet, “God has allowed me to articulate it in a way that has the feeling of my music.” However, Timbaland did reveal that he wasn’t 100% comfortable when it came to his public speaking. Even the interview he was doing with Variety he wasn’t all the way comfortable he admitted. Moreover, the hitmaker also expressed that he was entertaining the idea of getting a public speaking coach. He said he wanted to learn even more about public speaking. “So, for me, it’s been like therapy,” Timbaland told the outlet.

“I ain’t there yet – I’m not gonna get up and be giving speeches, but now it’s an uncomfortable-comfortable position,” the 51-year-old noted. Along with improving his public speaking, Tim’s been busy working on new music. He mentioned in the interview that he was currently working on some new stuff with Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliot (classics loading). When asked what the new JT collab was going to sound like, the super producer said “It’s fun Justin.” Furthermore, he elaborated that the album wouldn’t be too heavy and have a lot of FutureSex/LoveSounds (their blockbuster collaboration). Are you ready for more music from Timbaland?

Isaiah Washington Says The Ku Klux Klan Were Some of His Best Teachers In Elementary School

Screen Shot 2023 05 01 at 10.44.57 AM

Actor Isaiah Washington shocked social media in a recent Instagram post where he shared he grew up in Texas around Klu Klux Klan members who were some of the best teachers and neighbors. He revealed that while his mother allowed their children in her home to eat, Washington wasn’t allowed to drink from their outside hose or allowed in their much smaller homes.

He wrote:

REPOST AFTER AN INSTAGRAM REMOVAL: I had some of the best elementary school teachers and even some neighbors that I knew were Klan Members back in Texas while growing up. I knew where They stood with me and They also knew where I stood with Them. The boundaries were verv, very clear and I still played with Their kids, I just couldn’t drink from Their outside water hose or come inside Their house to eat and Their houses were usually much smaller than what I grew up in. My mother never refused to let Their kids into her house to eat a summer lunch and drink from our vintage JFK water glasses. I can’t help but wonder today, if Their kids are vigorously supporting me as an actor today, simply because I showed Them love and respect as a true Texan and a true American. even when Their parents and grandparents forbid Them to reciprocate love and respect for me publicly to me back then, but I’m infamous now, I wonder…
Thoughts?

When news of the continued success of I Never Liked You was posted by Our Generation Music, fans expressed their feelings on the project. “One of the best albums to come out last year imo,” one fan commented. Another called out Future’s doubters, “And some folks said the album was trash? Lol. They were clearly wrong.” “Im still listening like it just came out, great album,” one more wrote.

After the release of the album, Future embarked on the Future and Friends: One Big Party Tour. For the shows, he showcased several high-profile artists including Lil Durk, Kodak Black, Jeezy, and more. In a statement provided to Billboard at the time, he described the tour as “life-changing.”

When asked about his goals for the upcoming project in November 2022, he told Billboard he wants to become a billionaire off of its success. “A lot of money,” he answered. “That’s a lot of damn money. My main focus right now is just to do something I never done. One thing I never done is make a billion dollars. I ain’t done that, so I’m focused on that.” Future has yet to provide concrete details on his next effort, but be on the lookout for more information this year.

“Acid Rap”: Chance The Rapper On How His Iconic Mixtape Influenced Jack Harlow & Lil Uzi Vert

It sometimes feels like just yesterday when hip-hop heads all over were blasting Chance the Rapper’s “Cocoa Butter Kisses” from car windows at top volume. The uber-catchy, Vic Mensa and Twista-assisted song appears on the 30-year-old’s Acid Rap mixtape, which arrived back in 2013. In fact, this past weekend, the 14-track project celebrated its 10-year anniversary, for which Complex spoke with Chance about his past work and its undeniable influence, among other things.

“In terms of rap, like, there was not another album that had a song like ‘Chain Smoker’ on it or another album that had a song like ‘Everybody’s Something’ on it,” he told the outlet during their chat. “It was its own thing,” CTR added, though he did compare it to other huge arrivals in the same genre also released that year. Among them were Mac Miller’s Watching Movies With The Sound Off, Kanye West’s Yeezus, and Drake’s Nothing Was The Same. Additionally, J. Cole’s Born Sinner album came up in the discussion as well.

Chance the Rapper Reflects on His Influence

According to Chance, the sound he crafted on Acid Rap still holds up to this day and even continues to influence emerging artists – particularly those coming up out of the Midwest. “I think you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody that’s a year or two younger than me that wasn’t influenced by Acid Rap, even if they weren’t from [that area],” the father of two speculated. “Jack Harlow, Uzi Vert. People that are from opposite coasts and from other places still tell me, like, what the album meant to them at that time.”

Besides the most popular song, “Cocoa Butter Kisses,” Chance the Rapper’s fans have also been running up streams on titles like “Favorite Song” with Childish Gambino as well as “Lost” featuring Noname. The Chicago native connected with no shortage of collaborators for the mixtape, including Ab-Soul, Action Bronson, Saba, BJ The Chicago Kid, Nate Fox, and Lili K. What’s your favourite song off of Acid Rap, ten years later? Let us know in the comments, and make sure to tap back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop news updates.
