Future’s “I Never Liked You” Continues Billboard 200 Streak

Future’s ninth studio album, I Never Liked You, has remained on the US Billboard 200 chart for over a year. The project debuted atop the chart back in April 2022, earning 222,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. It became Future’s eighth US number-one and 15th top-10 album. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has since certified it platinum.

I Never Liked You is supported by guest features from Kanye West, Gunna, Young Thug, Drake, Tems, EST Gee, and Kodak Black. Future also dropped a deluxe version of the album with appearances by Babyface Ray, 42 Dugg, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and Young Scooter.

When news of the continued success of I Never Liked You was posted by Our Generation Music, fans expressed their feelings on the project. “One of the best albums to come out last year imo,” one fan commented. Another called out Future’s doubters, “And some folks said the album was trash? Lol. They were clearly wrong.” “Im still listening like it just came out, great album,” one more wrote.

After the release of the album, Future embarked on the Future and Friends: One Big Party Tour. For the shows, he showcased several high-profile artists including Lil Durk, Kodak Black, Jeezy, and more. In a statement provided to Billboard at the time, he described the tour as “life-changing.”

Future is currently still working on his tenth studio album. When asked about his goals for the upcoming project in November 2022, he told Billboard he wants to become a billionaire off of its success. “A lot of money,” he answered. “That’s a lot of damn money. My main focus right now is just to do something I never done. One thing I never done is make a billion dollars. I ain’t done that, so I’m focused on that.” Future has yet to provide concrete details on his next effort, but be on the lookout for more information this year.

Future Flexes On A Yacht In The Extravagant ‘Back To The Basics’ Music Video

In April last year, Future dropped his ninth studio album, I Never Liked You, and it reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. But he didn’t stop there — he was the only rapper to remain on the Hot 100 chart throughout the entire year. He’s not done dominating. He’s back today with a music video for the track “Back To The Basics” off of the album directed by Skeeboo.

Taking place on a yacht, in the video, viewers watch as Future flexes his luxurious lifestyle, all while he raps on the open seas with women in bikinis. Then, of course, there’s lots of dancing, shots, and partying — as there should be after all his successes.

This video is the latest in a string of new videos he’s been putting out. It follows the release of the Travis Scott-directed video for “712PM” as well as the videos for “From Now On” with Lil Baby, “Massaging Me,” “I’m Dat N****,” and more.

Future is about to head out on the One Big Party tour, a quick run beginning on January 7 and ending on January 27. Openers include EST Gee, Babyface Ray, Doe Boy, Lil Jarmy, Rob49, Double 00, and Ocean x Kungfu for all of the shows, as well as Kodak Black, Trippie Redd, and Polo G at select dates.

Future Hits The Sea In “Back To The Basics” Music Video

Future isn’t taking a day off. He’s already dropping off new visuals to start off the new year after a highly productive year. This afternoon, the rapper unveiled the music video for “Back To Basics” — a highlight off of I Never Liked You.

This time, Future pulls back on the theatrics for a more scenic music video. He hops aboard a yacht, surrounded by models and water. It’s a simple visual concept that doesn’t takeaway the attention from the song itself but compliments it instead.

Future’s latest album helped him secure several nominations at the Grammys. He’s currently is up for six awards including Best Rap Album for I Never Liked You, Best Rap Song for the chart-topping “Wait For U” and Best Rap Performance for Gunna’s “Pushin’ P.”

Future’s coming off of an incredibly productive year that ended with him as the only artist who remained on the Billboard charts for every week in 2022. However, he has some big plans in store for 2023, beginning this Friday. The rapper is set to embark on the One Big Party tour which launches at Houston’s Toyota Center on Jan. 6th. He’ll also head out to cities like Charlotte and his hometown of Atlanta before concluding the run in Boston on Jan 27th. Fewtch will also bring a handful of special guests along with him like Trippie Redd, Kodak Black, EST Gee, Polo G, Lil Jairmy, Rob49, Doe Boy, Babyface Ray, and more.

The Atlanta rapper is evidently kicking off 2023 with a bang. Though the tour is only six dates, we’re anticipating that he has more shows lined up throughout the year. In 2022, he headlined several Rolling Loud events in Toronto, Miami, and more.

Future Listed As The Only Artist To Remain On Billboard Charts For Every Week In 2022

Future has been enjoying a busy and successful year. And before the year officially ends, the Atlanta rapper is now listed as the only musician to chart on Billboard for every week of 2022, according to the Daily Loud.

In April 2022, Future dropped his ninth studio album I Never Liked You. Featuring a tracklist of 22 songs, the long-awaited project also contained features from Drake, Gunna, Kodak Black, EST Gee, Kanye West, and Tems.

Wait For U,” a popular single from the album, later went viral on social media over the summer. It also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, earning Future his first #1 as a main artist.

Recently sitting down with Billboard, he opened up about the process behind the album, revealing, “Songs like “Wait for U,” I make those in my sleep. But I had to make a certain kind of music to go along with my career and everything that was going on at the time.”

“I was capitalizing off different moments and creating from whatever was going on at the time in the world and my personal life. I was taking the energy from that and making music. But those melodic songs, I make those easy — easier than I can make a rap song, I feel,” the 39-year-old continued.

On what’s next for the “Move That Dope” rapper, he also told the outlet, “My main focus right now is just to do something I never done. One thing I never done is make a billion dollars. I ain’t done that, so I’m focused on that.”

Future Announces “One Big Party” 2023 Tour

Future will be coming to a city near you in 2023, as part of his upcoming “One Big Party” tour.

The Atlanta rapper shared dates for his upcoming tour on social media this morning, which will include performances from some special guests. The upcoming stint will be a short one, consisting of six dates in total. However, he’ll be kicking off the new year with a bang.

The One Big Party tour will take over Stadiums in major cities, beginning with Houston’s Toyota Center (Jan.6th). From there, Future will touch down in Charlotte, NC’s Spectrum (Jan. 13th) before making his homecoming return to Atlanta at the State Farm Arena (Jan. 14th). Then, he’ll touch down at the United Center in Chicago (Jan. 20th), Washington, DC’s Capital Arena (Jan 22nd), before closing things out at Boston’s TD Garden (Jan. 27th).

It will certainly be an exciting string of shows, considering that Future hasn’t toured in five years at this point. However, he has been a mainstay at Rolling Loud throughout the year. Fewtch headlined the Miami and New York dates. Additionally, he also headlined the inaugural launch in Toronto. The rapper will also headline the 2023 Rolling Loud festival in California.

The announcement of the One Big Party tour comes after a highly productive year including the release of I Never Liked You. Future’s ninth studio album arrived after a nearly 2-year hiatus. The project shot to the top of the Billboard 200 with over 200K units in its first week while the single, “Wait For You” ft. Drake and Tems secured #1 and became the song of the summer.

Clearly, Future has some big plays on his mind in 2023. Hopefully, he has a bigger tour on the horizon after the upcoming One Big Party tour.

We’ll keep you posted on who the special guests will be. Check out the dates for Future’s One Big Party tour below.

Future Delivers Performance of "Love You Better" from Brooklyn Academy of Music

On Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, Future gave a historic performance, delivering a surreal, theatrical performance of his hit “Love You Better” from his record-breaking #1 album I NEVER LIKED YOU. Notably, Travis Scott served as creative director of the performance from the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Future just earned accolades from the RIAA in honor of having over 95 million copies certified so far in his career. As he approaches 100 million units granted (including US sales and streaming), this honor stands out since it includes 9 albums and 68 distinct songs. According to the RIAA, this figure is one of the biggest in the 65-year history of the program.

Future Performs “Love You Better” On Jimmy Kimmel, Travis Scott Serves As Creative Director

Future’s still riding high off of the release of I Never Liked You. “WAIT FOR U” was easily one of the songs that soundtracked summer ’22, but the whole album produced some significant moments.

“LOVE YOU BETTER” gained significant traction over the past few months, as well. Last night, Future hit Jimmy Kimmel with a performance of the single, though it wasn’t your average late-night performance. With Travis Scott as the creative director, Fewtch’s performance began as if it were an interview before Future gets lost in a daze.

“So, how is the future, relatively speaking?” asks Kimmel as Future sat down. “Man, I be driftin’ off sometimes,” Future responds as the lights dim and the instrumental strikes.

The camera, then, goes backstage to where a woman is calling for the rapper in his green room, discovering flowers with a letter that reads, “I NEVER LIKED U.” After he performs the record, the woman storms Kimmel’s stage, throwing the letter and dragging Future off the set.

Future and Travis Scott have a tight relationship going back years, though it seems their musical bond’s gotten stronger recently. The two teamed up on Southside’s “Hold That Heat,” while the former later brought the latter out at Rolling Loud.

Future Gives A Mesmeric Performance Of ‘Love You Better’ On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

In April, Future unveiled his new album I Never Liked You, which instantly went No. 1 and was packed with great tracks like “Puffin On Zootiez” and “Holy Ghost.” To celebrate the LP further, he went on Jimmy Kimmel Live for a performance.

Future kicked off his appearance by walking on the stage and sitting across from the host. “So how is the future, relatively speaking?” asked Kimmel. Future answered, “I be drifting off sometimes.” The screen faded into a new scene — a daydream in which he gave a hypnotizing performance of his song “Love You Better.” He rapped thoughtfully from an armchair as the floor became covered with a thick blanket of smoke.

Future just recently sold his publishing for “high eight figures.” In a statement, he said, ” “I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure these were in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs. I’m proud to partner up with Rene [McLean, Influence Media partner and founding advisor] and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”

Future Takes Fans Along On His Paris Vacation In His ‘I’m Dat N****’ Video

Future dropped the new music video for his song “I’m Dat N****” yesterday as the latest single from his 2022 album I Never Liked You. The video follows the rapper on a luxurious Paris vacation, where he rides on a yacht, attends fancy dinners with models, and spends his money at designer stores (specifically, Celine).

The music video also shifts in terms of visual influence, including a grainy film style, before switching the color scheme to black & white towards the end. “I just left, she textin’ me she miss me,” Future notes during the song’s second verse as he stands on what appears to be a hotel balcony. Slow Burnz, Dy Crazy, and Southside produced the single, which also interpolates Young Thug’s 2019 song “Hot.”

As Future’s fifth single, it follows up his earlier I Never Liked You songs, from “Holy Ghost,” “Puffin On Zootiez,” “Love You Better,” and “Wait For U” featuring Drake and Tems. In addition, Future’s album contains several collaborations with notable artists. He teamed up with Kanye West for “Keep It Burnin,” Gunna and Young Thug on “For A Nut,” and even brought Drake back again for another song titled “I’m On One.”
