Following yesterday’s Fire Emoji update, we’ve returned with some new songs for our R&B Season Spotify playlist.
This weekend, Doechii and SZA’s highly anticipated collaboration on the “Persuasive” remix took the top spot on our list, following the former’s induction into the 2022 XXL Freshman class alongside names like Nardo Wick, BabyTron, and Saucy Santana.
“The people I see with something bad to say about ‘If I Get Caught’ I’m sure have never listened to blues,” he tweeted. “And if you never listened to blues. then you’re musically blind in my book and you can’t see what we did.”
“Goofy” by Tink came up next, arriving alongside an accompanying music video that was filmed in her hometown of Chicago.
“In the [visual], you’ll see me going through some real shit. Being cheated on, being left at the doctor’s office pregnant and alone… it’s just very real and raw,” she revealed in a press release.
Finally, we have DaniLeigh’s diss track aimed toward DaBaby, “Dead To Me,” which she dropped off after their very tumultuous public falling out just months after the birth of their daughter.
Stream it all below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more music updates.
Another Florida rapper’s career has come to a tragic and untimely end. As AllHipHop reports, on Saturday (July 23), Rollie Bands was gunned down outside his home after posting a message directed towards his opps on Instagram.
“A lot of these n*ggas [know] where I live at fr,” he began writing on his Story. “I sleep in peace. If a n*gga want smoke, I’m at my crib in five [minutes].”
Rollie wasn’t wrong in pointing out that there are a lot of people aware of his address, and they heard his message loud and clear. Mere moments after the invitation was posted to his profile, the “Struggle” artist was shot outside of his apartment.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call, although it’s been noted that the Tampa native was transported to hospital by friends or good samaritans in the area before authorities reached the scene.
Not long after receiving further medical treatment, Rollie Bands was declared dead as a result of his gunshot injuries.
Seeing as the late rapper had yet to reach his big break yet, much remains unknown about him, though from the looks of his IG page he appears to be leaving behind a young daughter to mourn his death.
Many have pointed out the foolishness of Rollie’s actions leading up to his murder, and hope that they serve as a warning to others in the industry to avoid making the same mistakes.

Monday night, Women’s National Basketball Players Association Executive Director, Terri Jackson was interviewed on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Jackson spoke to Trevor about Brittney Griner, who has been detained in Russia for five months.
The Phoenix Mercury star entered a guilty plea over a week ago while saying she “didn’t want to break the law.” The guilty plea aids as a pre-condition for consideration of a negotiated release and possible prisoner exchange between Russia and the U.S.
Griner is facing up to 10 years in prison on the charge of large-scale transportation of drugs. Less than 1% of defendants in Russian criminal cases are acquitted, which can be overturned.
Jakson explains why the WNBA was told not to respond or comment publicly when Griner was first detained. She also shared comments that many people feel Griner is being used as a political pawn. Griner “should not be a political pawn,” Jackson continued. “We are BG,” calling on the Biden administration, what comes next and much more in the clip below.

First, the Fat Boys break up, then Desus & Mero break the hearts of their online Hive. In the middle of the past week, rumors floated online that Desus & Mero were heading for splitsville. That report would be confirmed by both Desus and the network for their show, SHOWTIME, but no reason was given.
In a new report from Puck news, the break-up is connected to their longtime manager Victor Lopez, who Showtime asked to no longer come to filming or meetings due to his abusive demeanor. Lopez’s behavior was stated to have “included bullying, screaming, and generally making people on the show feel bad.”
Five sources with information spoke to Puke, revealing Lopez was asked not to return around the same time the Bodega Boys podcast wrapped up. Desus agreed with Showtime, but Mero believed he should remain loyal to Lopez.
Puck also stated the two participated separately in MLB All-Star Game activities they were booked for and did not interact. You can read the full report here.
dvsn is getting ready to release their new single, “If I Get Caught.” The new single, which will drop on Friday, contains a JAY-Z sample from “Song Cry,” so the duo of Daniel Daley and Nineteen85 needed to clear a sample, and Jermaine Dupri helped them out.
JD sent a text to Hov and asked for the hand, which drew an immediate reaction of “Haaaaaaaa!!!” after he heard the single.
“I didn’t think one could make a song more toxic than Song Cry,” Jay wrote. “I stand corrected.”
Hov would also jokingly ask for a disclaimer about his previous message before signing off on the clearance.
dvsn also hosted a focus group for the single and the first reactions can be heard below.
