Beyoncé Says ‘Renaissance’ is a Three-Act Project in New Statement

FYzmYxCX0Ac6GeT

Beyoncé’s Renaissance album is available now, much to the delight of the BeyHive. The new release is the first solo album from Queen Bey since 2016’s Lemonade, but get ready for more. In a statement before the album’s release, Beyoncé revealed this is just Act 1 as this era is a three-act project.

The full statement is available below:

This three-act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative. Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.

It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.

I want to give a special thank you to Rumi, Sir, and Blue for allowing me the space, creativity, and inspiration. And a special thanks to my beautiful husband and muse, who held me down during those late nights in the studio. A big thank you to my uncle Johnny. He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album. Thank you to all of the pioneers who originate culture, to all of the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This is a celebration for you. Thank you to my Parkwood crew, my slab, Dream, and all of the talented producers involved. Mama, I luhhhh you. To my father, my O.G., my first teacher: You inspire me in every move that I make. I love you.

To all of my fans: I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.

Love y’all deep,
B

Bobby Shmurda Salutes Joyner Lucas’ Moves as an Independent Artist: “Master P of Our Generation”

ocTEVArT 750x400 1

Bobby Shmurda hit The Party Starters Podcast and had high praise for Joyner Lucas, dubbing him the “Master P of Our Generation.”

Bobby contextualizes the remark during the conversation by shedding background on Joyner’s career as an independent musician and estimating that Joyner makes about $250,000 per month in revenue by owning all of his music.

Bobby wonders why Joyner, who has recorded platinum and gold-certified hits including “ISIS,” “I’m Not Racist,” “Stranger Things,” “ADHD,” and “Your Heart,” among others, doesn’t get more attention. According to Bobby, if the industry celebrated his accomplishment, record companies would lose all of their negotiating power.

“I’m going to talk about that nigga in every interview,” Shmurda said. “He’s like a Master P in our generation. He’s up off only giving up 20% of his music off distribution. They don’t want to talk about Joyner Lucas becuase they don’t want a bunch of Joyner Lucas.”

Bobby and Joyner collaborated on the “Shmoney Challenge” earlier this summer, offering $25,000 to an independent artist who joined Joyner’s Tully platform, downloaded the Shmoney track, and uploaded the harshest rhyme over the instrumental.

You can hear it from Bobby below.

New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson inked a massive extension of up to $231 million this summer. One of the clauses in his contract is weight management.

In order for Williamson to maximize his earning potential, he must be careful about his weight and body fat percentage.

According to NOLA.com’s Christian Clark, Williamson will participate in weight-ins through the length of his deal to make sure his body fat percentage remains below 295.

Williamson reportedly weighs 284 pounds currently and, so far in his career, has only played 85 games. The Pelicans are hoping for an uptick in games with their improved roster.

Wendy Williams’ Ex-Husband Says Her Show’s Production Company Would Not Aid in Her Addiction Issues

Wendy Williams Reveals She Doesn't Have a Prenup With Estranged Husband Kevin Hunter

Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter is speaking out against Debmar-Mercury, the production company behind The Wendy Williams Show, who did not want to help the hot in recovery from addiction issues.

“Debmar would not support Wendy’s recovery efforts with the family,” Hunter said to Page Six. “They would not sign off on anything that would’ve helped her recovery efforts.”

Hunter stated Williams’ family would attend a meeting where Debmar-Mercury would discuss how they could jointly combat her alcohol abuse, but they would not sign off on treatment plans.

“They sat in a meeting with her whole family, including her now-deceased mom, and would not sign off on the recovery efforts that would’ve helped Wendy also get well and live and be sober,” Hunter said. “They basically said, ‘If you don’t stop drinking, you’re going to lose the show.’”

Hunter and Williams split in 2019 after the host filed for divorce.

Quavo x Takeoff Release New Single And Video “Us vs. Them” Featuring Gucci Mane

Screen Shot 2022 07 29 at 7.23.53 AM

Delivering the kind of Atlanta anthem that moves the whole culture, multiplatinum GRAMMY® Award-nominated superstars Quavo and Takeoff unleash a blockbuster new single and music video entitled “Us Vs Them” featuring Gucci Mane—available today via Quality Control Music Group/Motown Records.

The track pairs a skittering trap bounce with unforgettable sirens. It sets the stage for Quavo and Takeoff to lock into an unbreakable and unbeatable lyrical volley highlighted by hilarious observations such as “Came from nothing, now my Lambo look like dolphin fins. It all builds towards the victorious chant, “Fuck that other shit, I’m going for the win. Meanwhile, Atlanta hip-hop legend Gucci Mane pulls up with a powerhouse verse of his own. The accompanying visual alternates between scenes in a parking garage and on a basketball court as fireworks rain from the ceiling, popping off with uncontainable energy.

It arrives on the heels of “Hotel Lobby. The latter has already generated 22.8 million YouTube views on the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas-inspired music video and 39.6 million Spotify streams and counting. Earning critical acclaim right out of the gate, Billboard proclaimed, ‘Hotel Lobby’ impresses with a natural camaraderie that the members demonstrated on their early mixtapes, as Takeoff handles the denser flow and Quavo gleefully punctuating every fifth word with another ad-lib.” Not to mention, the duo performed it as part of A COLORS SHOW, posting up 1.3 million Spotify streams and 3.3 million YouTube views on the video as the first in a series celebrating Black Music Month created in collaboration with Motown Records.

However, this is just the beginning for Quavo and Takeoff
