Lakeyah And Latto Encourage All To ‘Mind Yo Business’ On Their Confident New Song

After Lakeyah lead an enthusiastic social media campaign, including having fans guess who would be featured on her new track, tonight she releases her new single “Mind Yo Business” featuring Latto. It’s a special moment as the two rap over a sample of Lil Kim and Iconz’s “Get F***** Up” from 2001. Lakeyah is as confident as ever, denying men the opportunity to get with her if they don’t have as much money as she does. Latto dismisses the men who feel the need to lie about their size in addition to not being able to afford her as well.

“Mind Yo Business” follows Lakeyah’s previous single “I Look Good.” The Quality Control artist last released the third iteration of her time-themed series of projects, My Time (Gangsta Grillz: Special Edition) with the help of DJ Drama back in September of 2021. On the flip side, Latto is reveling in the success of her March album 777, boosted by the chart-topping smash hit “Big Energy,” which she later remixed with Mariah Carey. It’s a fun time to enjoy female rappers, and these two are bringing the energy as the summer rolls around meaning men better come to them correctly.

Lakeyah & Latto Boss Up On “Mind Yo Business”

Two ladies in Rap who have been making waves have united on a track that is sure to be a summer favorite. Quality Control’s Lakeyah has been climbing up the ranks of Rap as she continues to develop herself as a mainstream artist, and Latto has been riding high ever since she secured a coveted feature from Mariah Carey. Women in Hip Hop coming together for a collaboration is always celebrated, and “Mind Yo Business” is an uptempo jam that fans will enjoy.

This one has a production reminiscent of Trina’s “Da Baddest B*tch”—courtesy of producers Hitmaka, Cardiak & Paul Cabbin—and on it, the ladies flex their statuses, bank accounts, and sex appeal. There have been rumors about Lakeyah’s next project and it is unclear if this one will land on its tracklist when it arrives, but we’ll keep you updated as she shares more information in the future.

While we wait, stream “Mind Yo Business” and share your thoughts on Lakeyah’s latest with a feature from Latto.

Quotable Lyrics

If he ain’t got more than me, I can’t f*ck ’em (B*tch, can’t f*ck)
If he don’t got more than me, I duck ’em (I duck)
P*ssy gon’ pop like a pea, I bust him (Boom, pop, pop)
Bad b*tch gon’ shop, no gimmicks
Brand new drop top, not rented
And every time a b*tch start, I finish
If it ain’t money in the text, don’t send it

And I was, ‘Whoa, this is awesome.’… The album, from there, it just wrote itself.” Posty said he had made so many songs bust this time, he “wanted to reflect more of” himself.

“So we went out there [to Malibu], and it was just so freeing. I was, ‘I’m not scared to express myself or make music or write songs.’ And I could just hang out.”

It’s been nearly three years since his last album, but Post Malone finally resurfaces.

On his fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache, which he calls the “most honest record I’ve made,” he calls on heavy-hitters like The Weeknd, Gunna, and The Kid LAROI. The 14-track set also features the Roddy Ricch-assisted single “Cooped Up” and “I Like You (A Happier Song)” with Doja Cat, plus “Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol” with Fleet Foxes, which he performed on “SNL.”

Speaking with Apple Music, Post revealed why Twelve Carat Toothache is his favorite album yet. “We had enough time to work on it, that’s for sure,” he said of the follow-up to 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding. “At the beginning it was rough. But then I came into what I like to do and who I am and what makes me happy…now I’m happy and I love making music.”

He started recording the album in Malibu during the pandemic. “It was 12 hours in Malibu that I sat by myself in this dark room with my laptop and just made beats,” he recalled. “For 12 hours. Did a bunch of mushrooms, made beats. And I was, ‘Whoa, this is awesome.’ … The album, from there, it just wrote itself.”

Post, who is expecting his first child, originally wanted to release the project for free. “My original plans for the record were crazy. I was like it’s free, but it’s just so interesting. My ideas are crazy. So my ideas are nuts. I knew that there was no way that they were going to fly.”
