Ogi Releases Debut EP “Monologues”

Ogi first caught our attention with her No I.D.-produced single “I Got It,” which she followed up shortly after with “Envy”— and that was essentially the sum of her releases at the time. Both records preceded her debut EP, Monologues, out today, finally offering fans more of her uniquely jazzy and lush R&B.

Ogi signed to No I.D.’s ARTium Recordings after the producer found one of her PJ Morton covers on Instagram. She’s quickly earned high praise from him, as he calls her a “once in a generation talent.”

“She has her own unique perspective, which makes her music and art very quickly stand out as special. Me and my ARTium team are proud and excited to embark on this journey with her,” No I.D. says of the midwest-born singer.

As far as the new six-song offering, Ogi says, “These songs are my outlet to say what I really felt about something but didn’t say because my feelings didn’t fit the script. I was afraid of looking cocky or unruly (‘Looker’) or being overly resentful (‘Bitter’) or too apathetic (‘Let Me Go’) or being too affectionate (‘IKYK’). These are performances of songs by a person who feels like she’s performed all her life. How meta. The most relatable thing about my experience is that I tried to be something that I’m not to fall in line with an internalized notion of myself. In other words, I performed the expectations that I was given. And everyone can relate to forgoing the fullest expression of themselves for the sake of the crowd – the audience. But now I’m putting myself display and staging those thoughts I never intended for people to hear. We love radical (maybe too specific) honesty.”

The quirky, horn-littered “Bitter” received an official music video release alongside the EP, which keeps in theme with the retro sound of the record thanks to a vintage lens, as Ogi bellows about her unrequited love.

Check out the new music video and the EP in full below. Let us know what you think of Ogi in the comments.

Rick Ross Reacts With Pride After Snatching Rebound During Heat Blowout

Last night, the Miami Heat laid down the law against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Heat took a commanding 2-0 series lead in their second-round matchup and without Joel Embiid in the lineup, it is crystal clear that the Sixers do not have an answer for the Heat. At this point, it is getting pretty embarrassing out there, and it is very obvious that James Harden has fallen off of a cliff.

In the highlights package down below, you can see how the Heat were able to pick apart the Sixers. This is a series that many gave to the Heat off rip, and so far, all of those predictions have been validated.

One person who is very happy about this result is none other than Rick Ross who was sitting courtside at the game last night. In fact, Ross was a bit of a factor in the tilt as he was able to grab a rebound on the baseline following an airball from the Heat. As you can clearly see in the clip below, Ross was ecstatic about catching the ball, and it even prompted him to say “Grabbed my first post season rebound.”

Ross has always put on Miami, and now is no better time to be a Heat fan. This team has a realistic shot at winning a title, and we’re sure we will see more of Ross as the playoffs continue.

Let us know who you think is going to win the NBA title, in the comments down below.

Kanye West Walked Out On Kim Kardashian’s ‘SNL’ Monologue After She Called Him A Rapper, She Says

Back in October, Kim Kardashian hosted Saturday Night Live and during her opening monologue, she referenced her marriage to and impending divorce from Kanye West, saying, “I’ve been very blessed in this life and I’m grateful for everything, honestly: all the ups, all the downs. I mean, I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America: A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality. I know that sounds mean, but people keep telling me that comedy comes from truth and if there’s one thing that I always strive to be, it’s genuine.”

Now, we know that, at least according to Kardashian, Ye didn’t particularly like that part of the monologue, so much so that he walked out of the room during it.

On a new episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Kardashian said (as Us Weekly notes):

“He walked out on SNL mid-monologue. I haven’t talked to him since. He is upset at the fact that I used the word ‘divorced’ — so he wished I said the word ‘filed’ for divorce. And he was upset that I also said he was ‘a rapper.’ He said, ‘I am so much more than a rapper. I can’t believe you said ‘rapper.” I never want to offend anyone, and I never want to hurt anyone but also that is what this monologue was for. It was to make a joke. I made fun of myself, my mom, and of everything that is personal to me. It is all fun and games and apparently, it wasn’t to him.”

Calboy Calls DaBaby An “Industry Prostitute” For Betraying Megan Thee Stallion

The issues between OTF and NBA Youngboy’s crew have only gotten worse since King Von’s death. However, it extends beyond either camp. Last year, DaBaby, who previously worked with both Lil Durk and King Von, released an entire collaborative effort with NBA Youngboy. The decision ruffled a few features, including Von’s cousin Calboy, who ultimately ended up getting into a back-and-forth on IG with the “Rockstar” rapper.

DaBaby denied that he was choosing sides in the feud between Durk and NBA Youngboy but Calboy said that was a lie during an interview with VladTV. “Folks knew he was going to get smoked from that because it’s beef right now. And if you not picking sides, why y’all drop on the same day as Von?” Calboy said, explaining that DaBaby could’ve easily asked NBA Youngboy to move their project if he wanted to stay out of the beef. However, Calboy thinks that particular situation is an accurate reflection of how DaBaby moves in the industry.

“He really, like, an industry prostitute,” Calboy continued. “Like, okay, the Megan Thee Stallion shit. Man supposedly shot her in the foot, you go and do a song with the man and make her mad. There’s no morality in that. Shorty probably thought you was really her friend. She thought you was really supporting her. Not even saying that’s my business but I see it. He a groupie.”

Drake pulled off the smoothest response to someone trolling him on the internet; he DMed his wife.

While defending NBA star Tee Morant’s dad for being an ultra-supportive sideline father, which some online have deemed “annoying”, someone wanted to poke fun at Drizzy over the rumor he doesn’t write his own rhymes.

Drake made a comment about the critics of Morant’s father, saying, “Imagine your son makes the league and he’s Ja Or Melo (Ball) or Lonzo (Ball) all you can do is be elated and competitive and over supportive and it’s a right of passage to that the OG’s talk s*** 😂😂😂😂.”

“I know I’mma be this way even if my son is in a rubix cube competition 😎.”

Once the troll took a shot at Drake and the ghostwriting rumors, that’s when it happened.

It wasn’t just a threat. Drake actually DMed the troll’s wife, which he posted to the Gram.

Was it Drake for the win with the comment or the troll even having access to his wife’s DMs?
