“Madden” To Get Rid Of CPR Celebration Following Damar Hamlin Incident

If you are a sports fan who enjoys video games, you know that the Madden series is incredibly popular. Every single year, EA Sports reveals a brand new edition of the game with updated rosters. Overall, fans have grown tired of the yearly sports games, mostly because it feels like the quality actually worsens.

Regardless, these games still sell a ton of copies, and EA Sports is happy to continue making them. However, Madden has been in the spotlight for all of the wrong reasons as of late. For instance, fans are bringing up the CPR celebration in light of what happened to Damar Hamlin.

As many of you already know, Damar Hamlin suffered a medical emergency last week. After collapsing on the field, Hamlin required CPR to be resuscitated. Subsequently, he was saved and spent a week in the hospital before being released. With all of this in mind, it is easy to see why fans want the animation removed.

Madden Takes Action

According to a new report from the likes of TMZ, EA Sports is pledging to get rid of the celebration. The developer has noted that they understand the concerns. Furthermore, fans can expect the celebration to be gone following the next update which takes place later this week.

Dr. Dre Takes Legal Action Against Marjorie Taylor Greene Over “Still D.R.E.” Use

Dr. Dre is taking legal action against Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. The congresswoman used Dre’s iconic song, “Still D.R.E.,” during a promotional video posted on Monday.

Dre initially voiced his displeasure with Greene’s use of the song in a statement provided to TMZ.

“I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one,” he told the outlet.

Afterward, Dre’s lawyer, Howard King, fired off a letter demanding Greene cease and desist from using his client’s music.

The letter calls out Greene for not having “a passing familiarity with the laws of our country.”

It continues: “It’s possible, though, that laws governing intellectual property are a little too arcane and insufficiently populist for you to really have spent much time on. We’re writing because we think an actual lawmaker should be making laws not breaking laws, especially those embodied in the constitution by the founding fathers.”

The letter concludes by demanding that Greene comply and respond by January 11, 2023, at 5:00 pm EST.

Twitter has since blocked Greene’s post due to a copyright strike.

A spokesperson for Greene responded to Dre’s letter in a statement on Monday. They said: “While I appreciate the creative chord progression, I would never play your words of violence against women and police officers, and your glorification of the thug life and drugs.”

Numerous other artists have made headlines for voicing their displeasure with their music being used by politicians in recent years. Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., and more all complained about Donald Trump using their music for his presidential campaigns.

Larsa Pippen Kisses Marcus Jordan Despite Dating Rumor Denial

Larsa Pippen has been dealing with numerous dating rumors as it pertains to Marcus Jordan. Of course, this is an interesting pairing due to the fact that Marcus is the son of Michael Jordan. Back in the day, Jordan used to be teammates with Larsa’s ex-husband Scottie. Now, she appears to be getting close to his son, which has a lot of people scratching their heads.

Overall, there are a ton of varying opinions on the matter. Some believe that Pippen shouldn’t be dating someone she once knew when they were a child. Additionally, some think this is just a way to somehow get back at Scottie Pippen, who has fallen out with MJ.

Regardless, Pippen has denied the fact that they are together. On an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Pippen claimed that she and Marcus were just a couple of friends. However, that does not appear to be the case when you consider their most recent outing together.

Larsa Pippen & Marcus Kiss

According to numerous sources, including OK Magazine, the two went on a date in Florida recently. In the image below, you can see that the two both wore all-black for the occasion. Subsequently, the two kissed on the lips, and they appeared to be all smiles. Needless to say, they seem like they are more than just friends.

“We’ve been friends for the last couple of years and I’m in a place right now where I’m finally open to dating,” Pippen told Andy Cohen on WWHL. “Every time I’m seen out with someone, [people] make it out to be more than it actually is, and it’s normally nothing. So, yeah, I’m just dating right now and focusing on my businesses, my family, and having fun. People want to label your relationship when they don’t know what it is. But I don’t really care what other people think.”

For now, it seems like the two are having a lot of fun. Whether or not this is a serious relationship, still remains to be seen.

Tory Lanez’s Former Attorney Left Case Because He Doesn’t Handle Appeals

Tory Lanez Violated Megan Thee Stallion's Restraining Order By Performing At Rolling Loud, According To Prosecutors

Tory Lanez’s former attorney, George Mgdesyan, has spoken out regarding the end of his tenure on the case. According to Mgdesyan, he is no longer representing the jailed rapper because he doesn’t do appeals.

According to Rolling Stone, Mgdesyan isn’t leaving due to a bad relationship, instead, getting Lanez the proper representation for the appeal. “I don’t do appeals, so we had to get somebody on board to handle the appeal,” said Mgdesyan.

Tory Lanez has acquired new legal representation. The rapper has hired Suge Knight’s former lawyer David Kenner, to replace Mgdesyan.

According to Meghann Cuniff, who covered the case at length during the trial, Lanez made the swap and confirmed to the legal reporter Kenner is now in place.

“Regarding Tory Lanez’s Tuesday court date, yes, there is a date listed on the jail roster,” Cuniff tweeted. “It’s not on Judge Herriford’s calendar, and he’s got a bunch of other stuff at the time. Attorney David Kenner confirmed to me last week he’s now representing Tory.

“Kenner is a longtime criminal defense attorney whose clients include former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight.” She added, “Anyone with actual experience in criminal law (not all lawyers) will tell you he’s joining the case a bit late: Before trial would have been better.”

Mgdesyan hopes to attend Lanez’s sentencing on Jan. 27, citing he “has interest.”

‘Colbert’ Made Perfect Use Of DJ Khaled Clips To Recap Kevin McCarthy’s Drawn-Out Bid To Become Speaker Of The House

Over the weekend, Kevin McCarthy was elected Speaker Of The House. It took four days and 15 votes to get here, but here we are. Now the late-night shows have gotten a hold of the news and run with it on their Monday (January 9) episodes, including The Late Show. Steven Colbert’s staff’s take on the situation made use of some choice DJ Khaled clips.

The brief segment is introduced, “And now, a summary of Kevin McCarthy’s bid to become Speaker Of The House, featuring DJ Khaled.” From there, a Khaled-style instrumental played under news clips about the McCarthy proceedings, and as the various anchors share news of each subsequent vote, a Khaled clips interjects with one of the producer’s classic catchphrases: “Another one.” The video ends with an anchor noting, “The concessions to the right that led to his victory could leave him the weakest Speaker in modern history.” To that, clip Khaled responded, “Congratulations: you played yourself.”

As for what Khaled has been up to lately, he was recently pretty happy after buying Eminem’s Nike Air Jordan 4 “Encore” sneakers. Meanwhile, looking forward, he’s one of the most-nominated hip-hop artists at the upcoming 2023 Grammy Awards.
