Future, Metro Boomin & Rick Ross Champion Their “Everyday Hustle” On New Collab: Stream

Future and Metro Boomin’s new album WE DON’T TRUST YOU obviously has a lot of great trap highlights all over its tracklist. However, one of its most dynamic and triumphant offerings switches things up and expands the project’s arsenal of appeal. That would be “Everyday Hustle” featuring Rick Ross, a track about exactly what it suggests with two different flips of the same soulful sample. Moreover, the first beat on the track is structured much like Metro’s previous cut “Feel The Fiyaaaah” featuring A$AP Rocky and the late legend Takeoff on his 2022 LP HEROES & VILLAINS: a slow trap triplet drum sequence that you can feel in 3/4 or 4/4. Then, its second iteration switches to a boom-bap inspired percussion pattern that transitions seamlessly into a banging trap beat.

Lyrically, Future and Rick Ross focus on their “Everyday Struggle” with a lot of flair, sharp braggadocio, excess, and confidence. But it also contained some stray shots for Rozay’s ex Tia Kemp, which she was not happy with at all. Regardless, it’s hard to listen to a feature from the Maybach Music Group mogul and not look at it as a grandiose, opulent, and lavish moment. Still, don’t sleep on Fewtch’s performance here, as he flows with ease over both beats without losing his charisma and focus. While it isn’t a mode that we haven’t seen him in before, a lot of fans wanted this album to be what we know him and Metro Boomin to do best, and they delivered on that front.

Most recently, the duo attended an Oscars party at the Chateau Marmot in L.A, even engaging in some PDA.

The alleged split comes as a surprise to fans, as many considered this to be a “hard launch” of their relationship. Daily Mail reports, however, that they haven’t seen each other since. It also appeared as though Kim was ready to take things to the next level. Last week, sources told Life & Style that the SKIMS founder was even considering having a child with Odell.

She has plenty of frozen eggs so it’s really just a matter of talking Odell into this plan, even if that means making it worth his while financially!”

We’re almost a quarter of the way through 2024, and this new update to our R&B Season playlist shows that there’s no signs of it slowing down. Moreover, we’ve rounded up the best of the best releases of this week adjacent to the genre, and we have a couple of albums and singles to highlight. First up is Tyla’s new self-titled album, building off of the strength of her breakout 2023 with some catchy, lush, and wavy tracks. Specifically, we want to shout out “No.1” with Tems. Both artists deliver soothing vocal performances with an infectious chorus and a lot of breezy chemistry.

Staying on the album tip, we also have a new full-length offering from SiR, HEAVY, and it’s a star-studded and expansive effort. With guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, and more -– plus plenty of solo tracks for the TDE creative to show off his talents -– this is a pretty well-rounded and passionate collection of rap and R&B songs. There’s a particular pleasant flow and approach to musicality on “POETRY IN MOTION” featuring Anderson .Paak. Furthermore, the crisp percussion and hazy guitar chords hit the ear with warm and calming ease.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

Also, we have a surprising treat in the R&B world to discuss in the form of 6LACK’s new EP, No More Lonely Nights. This is an acoustic reimagining of certain songs off of the Atlanta crooner’s 2023 album Since I Have A Lover, specifically the title track, “Rent Free,” and “Inwood Hill Park.” Out of these selections, we’d really recommend the latter, with just a simple bassline backing his flow switches, moody delivery, and lyrically expounded struggle. If you haven’t spun the 31-year-old’s last record much since its release, then this is a simple but effective to gain new appreciation for its songwriting and structural strengths.

Meanwhile, Jorja Smith and Josman dropped “GO GO GO” this week off the EP of the same name with French rappers, which is more of a rock-centric jam with an anthemic chorus and earthy acoustic guitar chords. Finally, LOONY dropped her own self-titled album this week, too, on which “Show You Why” is a tender and gorgeously produced standout. Offset is keeping up his streak of charitable efforts, recently rewarding a group of students in Detroit for winning a Black history essay contest. Local artist Mr.1204 invited him to the event last week, where he surprised the group with a meet and greet. On top of getting to meet the hitmaker, each of the students went home with $100 and an autographed poster courtesy of Offset.

Mr.1204 shared a clip of the sweet moment on his Instagram, sharing more details of the fun surprise in his caption. “NOT ONLY DID THEY GET A PERSONAL MEET & GREET BUT ALSO RECEIVED PERSONAL AUTOGRAPHED POSTERS AND $100 EACH!!” he wrote. “NO KID KNEW WHERE WE WERE GOIN OR WHO THEY WERE GOING TO MEET! This is far from the first time Offset’s used his icon status for good in recent months. Just after embarking on his eagerly anticipated Set It Off tour, he visited students at a high school in Baltimore, where he gave away $30K in groceries and gift cards.
