Live Nation Stock Falls In Wake Of Astroworld Festival Tragedy

The aftermath of the tragic events that took place at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival continues to unfold.

According to Variety, “shares of Live Nation Entertainment,” the company responsible for promoting and organizing Astroworld, “fell as much as 8% in early trading Monday.” And as of 10 a.m., “Live Nation’s stock was down 4.7% Monday, to $117.94 per share.”

Despite recovering from an even larger dip at market open, Live Nation’s slide in the stock market comes just after the company hit all-time highs. Upon posting third quarter results that bested earning expectations, the entertainment company’s shares increased 14% last week. But after eight people were killed and hundreds more were injured as a result of stampeding crowds during Scott’s performance on Friday night, Live Nation stock has fallen.

Live Nation, who has come under scrutiny for safety issues and tragedies at previous events, issued a statement in response to what happened at Astroworld.

“Heartbroken for those lost and impacted at Astroworld [Friday] night. We will continue working to provide as much information and assistance as possible to the local authorities as they investigate the situation.”

Along with Scott, guest performer Drake, and others, Live Nation was named in a lawsuit that alleges when “The crowd became chaotic and a stampede began. Many begged security guards hired by Live Nation Entertainment for help, but were ignored.”

According to the report by Variety, “The return of music festivals was a major contributor to Live Nation’s earnings report last week,” and that “17 million fans attended Live Nation shows during the quarter, with festivals providing a large percentage of that boost.”

Following Astroworld, however, it seems unlikely that Live Nation will continue to reap the benefits of music festivals returning. While the entertainment company has already been sued for their involvement, the lawsuits will continue to pour in, and it would not be surprising to see their shares drop even further as a result.

Celtics Reportedly Interested In Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers are like that toxic relationship that just won’t end. Simmons is clearly unhappy and wants out, however, the Sixers are trying desperately to hold on to the relationship, even though nothing is going to make it work in the long run. The Sixers try to punish Simmons, but his bare minimum effort gets the Sixers’ hopes up before they quickly realize that he still doesn’t want anything to do with them.

Throughout this time, the Sixers have been entertaining trade calls to see if they can get anything for Simmons. Now, according to Shams Charania, one of the Sixers’ biggest Eastern Conference rivals is trying to get in on the Simmons’ sweepstakes.

That team just so happens to be the Boston Celtics, who are struggling to start the season. As Charania reports, the Celtics have not made any concrete offers, however, they have talked about the possibility of a trade. As it stands, the Sixers want to get Jaylen Brown in a potential deal, although it remains to be seen whether or not the Celtics would give up such a valued young star.

The Celtics’ inclusion in Simmons trade talks is certainly a new development, and the team’s slow start is most likely the reason why. This remains a developing story so stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates.

Young Thug Cuddles With Mariah The Scientist, Fans Wonder About Karlae

Young Thug and Karlae’s turbulent relationship has taken another turn.

On Sunday (Nov. 8), Young Thug’s label Young Stoner Life posted two photos of him and Mariah the Scientist cozying up to each other.

Under the post, comments began to pour in, wondering if Thug and his longtime girlfriend Karlae were still involved. In particular, the second photo of the post shows Mariah clinging onto Thug and hugging him, potentially as a romantic gesture.

Before this, Thug and Karlae’s relationship seemed to be smooth sailing. In an interview with HNHH in August, Karlae told us they were still dating and were in a good place, potentially anticipating marriage in the future: “We have an undeniable bond. We love each other to death, in a weird way. Right now, we’re in the process of just proving that we’re not going to be Mr. and Mrs. Smith and try to tear each other’s heads off. We’re just vibing and enjoying life, but that’s my baby and vice versa.”

That same week, Karlae gifted Young Thug $100,000 for his birthday, as the couple celebrated happily together.

These developments came after the couple’s issues reached their peak in December 2020, as Karlae referred to Thug as “the Devil,” accusing him of abuse.

Perhaps these problems escalated again recently, and they are no longer together. That may be a tough dynamic to handle, as Karlae is currently signed to Young Thug’s label YSL. Fans have even been anticipating Thug and Karlae to release a song they recorded together.

Karlae must not have been happy seeing her own label post pictures of Thug and his potentially new R&B star partner.

Astroworld Festival Promotional Video Seemingly Encourages Chaos At The Event

As Travis Scott and his Astroworld Festival co-founders deal with the tragic downfall of this year’s event, more and more damning evidence against them continues to come forward. Earlier today, TMZ shared a report pointing out that the promotional video for the 2021 show seems to hype up the crazy antics and ruthless behaviour from fans that AstroFest has become known for.

In May of this year, the event’s official Instagram account shared a clip that begins with newscasters sharing reports that the festival is “in full swing but with extra security” while thousands of fans cram against barricades, waiting to enter. Other footage shows people breaking in, opening intense mosh pits, head banging, and in general, raging in the way that Scott has always encouraged his fans to.

The video was first posted to Scott’s Twitter page after Astroworld Festival went down back in 2019, and was once again used to promote this year’s show. While the rapper has been scrubbing his social media accounts of other potentially incriminating evidence, this clip has stayed up, and has earned some replies from hurt fans.

As TMZ notes, some may see the festival trailer as an “enter if you dare” sort of thing – the rage is clearly shown in the clip, and was even posted after Scott was “cited by authorities for inciting a riot” two years ago. From the looks of things, promoters were hoping that attendees would bring a similar energy this time around.

Unfortunately, the lives of eight people were lost, and scores of others were injured due to a crowd surge that took place. Overcrowding, heat exhaustion, inadequate safety protocols, and rumours of drug injection are just a few of the factors at play here, turning what was supposed to be an exciting weekend into what some have described as a “literal hell.”

For more information on the ongoing investigation, check out our story on the lawsuits that Scott and others involved are currently facing.

Travis Scott Deletes Tweet That Aged Very Poorly After Astroworld Festival Tragedy

Travis Scott is already facing multiple lawsuits following this weekend’s tragic incident at Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas. Eight people lost their lives at the concert,  and over three hundred others suffered injuries after a crowd surge led to hundreds being trampled. Videos have surfaced online showing firsthand accounts of the tragedy, which looked absolutely horrific. People were piled on top of one another and some festivalgoers even prevented a clear path for emergency vehicles by dancing on top of ambulances making their way to people in need.

Scott has been accused of “inciting mayhem” during the concert in one lawsuit that was filed this week, and another lawsuit points to a tweet made by the rapper, which seemingly encourages people who weren’t able to get tickets to Astroworld to still try and sneak in.

“NAW AND WE STILL SNEAKING THE WILD ONES IN,” wrote Scott in a since-deleted tweet from May 2021, which was sent out after it was reported that the festival had sold out. Manuel Souza’s lawsuit claims that this tweet “recklessly encouraged fans to breach the barriers and otherwise actively encouraged a culture of violence.”

As seen in one viral video from the festival, crowds rushed through an entrance barrier and dozens tripped over each other as fans bolted into the sold-out show. With over 50,000 confirmed attendees, the grounds were filled completely. There were widespread reports of overcrowding, and some fans in attendance have shared harrowing details of their experiences, noting how difficult it was to breathe in the crowd. There have also been reports of somebody in the audience who may have injected people with drugs, with one security guard alleging that he was stabbed in the neck with a syringe.

Scott has an unfortunate history of things going massively wrong at his concerts. Back in 2017, a fan was paralyzed at his New York show after being thrown off a balcony at Terminal 5. The fan, Kyle Green, issued a statement about the Astroworld tragedy through his lawyer, saying, “He’s devastated and heartbroken for the families of those who were killed and for those individuals who were severely injured. He’s even more incensed by the fact that it could have been avoided had Travis learned his lesson in the past and changed his attitude about inciting people to behave in such a reckless manner.”

Ben Simmons Finds New Way To Avoid Sixers Fines

Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers have had a lot of drama over the past couple of months. It is clear that Simmons no longer wants to be in Philly, and he is doing the bare minimum to make them think he will stay. While the team eventually stopped fining him, they restarted their efforts recently as Simmons refused to see a mental health specialist.

In a new report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, it was revealed that Simmons does not like the specialists on staff and that he is currently seeing his own professionals. As a way to get the team off of his back, Simmons is now providing the Sixers with all of his medical records. which includes those from his therapy sessions. While some stuff remains confidential, it appears as though Simmons has done enough to avoid fines, at least for now.

Per Charania:

“Multiple sources have told The Athletic that Simmons has provided the organization with the names of each of his mental health professionals. The franchise has access to Simmons’ mental health professionals, but those professionals are not able to provide further information to the 76ers without Simmons’ consent due to patient confidentiality. So far, Philadelphia does not have a mental health doctor on its staff with whom Simmons is comfortable, sources say. Simmons is allowed the ability to seek treatment from outside the 76ers’ physicians for mental assistance.”

At this point, there is still no timeline for Simmons’ return to the lineup, and at this point, it could still be months out from here. The Sixers are stumped, and it’s not going to get better for the foreseeable future.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to bring you the latest on this developing story.

Jeff Bezos’ Girlfriend Swoons Over Leonardo DiCaprio

Jeff Bezos has all the money in the world, but even that cannot shield him from disloyalty.

Over the weekend, several celebrities paid a visit to the 10th Annual LACMA ART + FILM Gala, as they shared words and took stunning photos. However, Jeff Bezos’ trip to the Gala was not ideal, as his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, seemed to take a liking towards Leonardo Dicaprio when Bezos’ introduced them.

After this video hit Twitter users let the jokes fly, with one person referencing the viral TikTok trend utilizing SoFaygo’s rap hit “Knock Knock.”

Other memes such as Future and Druski skits were used to simulate how Bezos and DiCaprio acted during the rendezvous.

It is clear to see that Bezos’ partner was fascinated by what she saw in DiCaprio, and likely forgot Bezos was right next to her for a split second.

This would not be the first bump in the road for Bezos’ and Sanchez’s relationship, as Bezos had a legal dispute with her brother, Michael Sanchez, in 2020. Michael had lost a defamation case Bezos filed against him after he distributed intimate texts between his sister and Bezos. Lauren had sent Michael nude photos of Bezos, in which Michael revealed to the world.

The defamation case would eventually be thrown out, but Michael was ordered to pay $250,000 to Bezos to cover his legal fees. After this order, Michael was accused of hiding his assets so he would not have to pay Bezos, and was eventually sued.

Amazon’s former CEO, and now Executive Chair of the Board, cannot seem to avoid issues with Lauren Sanchez, as this latest DiCaprio debacle likely leaves a bad taste in his mouth. While Bezos assumed it would be greener pastures after divorcing his wife in 2019, it may not have turned out that way.

Snoop Dogg Wants Control Of Death Row Records: “I Should Be Running That Sh*t”

Snoop Dogg has been in the rap game for nearly 30 years.

In those 30 years, the Doggystyle rapper has undergone countless transformations. From a pillar of the West Coast hip-hop movement, to his time as Snoop Lion, to his newfound status as an NFT social media influencer, Snoop has proven time and time again that he will achieve success in anything he puts his mind to.

Ethan Miller/Getty Images

And with his 19th studio album, The Algorithm, set to release this Friday, November 12, Tha Doggfather revealed what he wants to accomplish next.

In an appearance on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Snoop revealed to hosts Wallo and Gillie da Kid that he wants control of Death Row Records.

“I think all of Death Row should be in my hands,” Snoop said. “I should be running that shit. Just like I’m [in] a position at Def Jam, Death Row means more to me because I helped create that. I think they should give me that and let me run that shit with the merchandise out, with the music all over the world. [Add] some new West Coast acts.”

Snoop was signed to Death Row, founded and by Suge Knight, from 1992-1998 and is correct in saying he helped create it. Along with Dr. Dre and later on, Tupac Shakur, Snoop was responsible for making Death Row the prominent force in West Coast hip-hop for the majority of the 90s, and nearly two-and-a-half decades after leaving the label, he wants back in.

Explaining that he would sign West Coast acts Roddy Ricch, Ty Dolla $ign and YG to Death Row, should he end up with any operating power, Snoop said he might end up with the label sooner rather than later.

“It’s just a lot of heat over there and it’s not being handled right,” he told Wallo and Gillie. “But a little birdie told me it may fly my way and if it do, you’ll get everything that I told you … If I can get Def Jam poppin’, what could I do with Death Row? Just imagine that.”

Check out Snoop’s full appearance on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game below, and let us know what you think of his Death Row remarks down in the comments.
