Lil Baby Throws Up YSL Sign While Rapping About Snitches: Watch

It’s no secret that Lil Baby’s not a fan of snitches, but he recently made it clearer than ever which ones he’s referring to in his music. During one of his recent performances, he threw up a YSL sign while spitting about alleged rats. After Gunna took a plea deal for his RICO charges and got released from prison at the end of last year, there were a ton of rumors floating around that he snitched on Young Thug.

Though Gunna’s adamantly denied this for some time, the rumors continue, particularly among those calling for Young Thug’s release. It’s been speculated before that Lil Baby took aim at Gunna on one of his songs, rapping, “Some n***as taking pleas at trial I know that slime ain’t happy.” It was even later speculated that Young Thug told Lil Baby and Lil Durk to call Gunna out on his album Business Is Business, with an alleged phone call of the rumored exchange making its rounds online over the summer.

Lil Baby Takes Aim At Snitches

“Yo, aye Wham, if you thinkin’ about responding to the little sh*t that buddy put out, I want you to respond on my album. I’m droppin’ this spontaneous album on the same day he drops his album. I’m going to name this sh*t Business Is Business,” he said in the alleged phone call.

As for Young Thug, he remains behind bars, awaiting his upcoming trial scheduled for the end of this month. If he’s fully convicted for the crimes he’s accused of, he could be looking at life in prison. The YSL founder waited for months for the jury selection process to wrap up, which just happened earlier this week. The jury will be made up of seven Black women, two white women, two Black men, and one white man. What do you think of Lil Baby throwing a YSL sign at one of his recent shows? Young Thug & YSL RICO Trial Finally Gets Seated Jury: Report

Finally, after over a year of delays and court developments and fiascos since the initial arrest, the YSL RICO trial is moving underway for Young Thug and his codefendants, according to a Billboard report. Moreover, the Atlanta court overseeing this case finally sat its jury in it after finalizing candidates earlier this week. As such, this means that the court will at long last commence full proceedings on this situation on the scheduled date of November 27. While this case hasn’t gotten any prettier or more promising to cover, at least this movement is some form of progress in this journey. For those unaware, prosecutors claim that the record label Young Stoner Life, led by Thugger, is actually a dangerous street gang in Atlanta known as Young Slime Life.

Furthermore, the jury selection process began in January of this year, about six months after authorities initially arrested Young Thug and other YSL affiliates. However, it proved incredibly difficult to find willing and able jurors in this trial. Many dropped out due to the heightened time-consuming commitments that a high-profile case like this represents. On the other hand, the court found many to exhibit too much bias, incompetent, or public revelations to participate.

In addition, this adds onto drug busts, more arrests, severances from the trial, and plea deals that the YSL RICO case involved. In fact, prosecutors led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis initially indicted 27 individuals in this case. Now, only seven remain and face the brunt of the charges if convicted. According to Atlanta media outlets such as its local NBC partner, the jury that will evaluate these seven indicted affiliates consists of seven Black women, two white women, two Black men, and one white man.

Meanwhile, full conviction could result in a lifetime prison sentence for the Atlanta trap pioneer. An important aspect to determine in the case is whether the court can use lyrics in their arguments. A hearing will take place next week to settle this mater with a ruling before opening arguments commence on November 27. YSL RICO Case Update: Jury Seating To Begin Amidst Young Thug’s Health Concerns

Young Thug

In a significant development in the YSL RICO case, a Fulton County judge has announced that jury seating will commence in November 2023. With Young Thug’s health concerns and lengthy pretrial detention, his legal team has persisted in advocating for his release on bond. ‘Longest In Georgia History’ An attorney representing Young Thug has confirmed […]

YSL RICO Trial: Prosecution Submits Error-Ridden List Of Song Lyrics To Use As Evidence

Prosecutors in the YSL RICO trial messed up big time this week as they formally submitted the full list of song lyrics they intend to use as evidence in the case. The extensive list includes misattributed lyrics, incorrect release dates, and lyrics from songs completely unrelated to YSL. In one example, one of the lyrics listed is actually from a YNW Melly song. Check out the prosecution’s full list below.

The use of lyrics as evidence is a pretty controversial topic, with several states having passed laws to restrict the practice. However, it’s considered admissible in Georgia, and something the Fulton County DA has vocally supported. “I think if you decide to admit your crimes over a beat, I’m going to use it. I’m going to continue to do that; people can continue to be angry about it. I have some legal advice: Don’t confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used. Or at least get out of my county. I’m not targeting anyone, but you do not get to commit crimes in my county and then decide to brag on it. Which you do as a form of intimidation, and not be held responsible,” Fani Willis told reporters at the start of September.

Young Thug Comments About Lil Wayne Shooting Ruled Admissable

However, it’s not just lyrics that are being used against the YSL defendants. Young Thug’s 2015 conversation with police about his YSL co-defendant shooting up Lil Wayne’s tour bus was ruled as admissable evidence last week. “[Young Thug] waived his Miranda rights before speaking with Detective Raissi and Agent Cunningham. His statements to them were voluntary and thus admissible. The evidence presented showed that [Young Thug] voluntarily waived his Miranda rights, despite his refusal to sign the Miranda waiver form, after [Young Thug] was read his rights. An oral waiver of Miranda is a proper waiver of such rights,” Judge Glanville said.

Earlier this year, the YSL member who was convicted of the bus shooting, Jimmy “PeeWee” Winfrey, was arrested in Las Vegas. Winfrey had been on the run since 2022, going underground after the initial indictments against YSL were handed down. He was indicted on four charges relating to the RICO case and later extradited to Georgia from Nevada. Winfrey was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the bus shooting but was released in 2020. This was due to efforts to lower prison populations during the early days of the pandemic. Furthermore, he is expected to face re-trial and re-sentencing on the shooting charges.

Young Thug & YSL RICO Trial’s Jury Selection Breaks Georgia Record For Length

The RICO trial of Young Thug and YSL is still moving very slowly as a result of a lengthy jury selection process. Although other factors affected this case, this is a major part of court proceedings that’s taken longer than expected, resulting in a delay of the commencement of the actual trial. In fact, this is such a long-lasting procedure so far that it broke the record for the longest jury selection in Georgia’s history. Of course, this isn’t that surprising when you look at the wider context of this case and the actors involved in it. Given its high-profile nature and wide proliferation online, it can be difficult to accurately identify biases in potential jurors, let alone pick individuals without one.

Furthermore, this pushback resulted in these YSL codefendants waiting patiently for their trial to begin. During this time, the court severed some from the trial, whereas others like Young Thug face low-standard humanitarian care. This includes the quality of meals provided, access to sunlight, and other health factors that these delays exacerbate. As such, many fans are looking to this jury selection process as the last big obstacle before authorities can seal these individuals’ fate.

Jury Selection In YSL RICO Trial Is Longest In Georgia’s History

However, jury selection involves a lot of moving parts, some of which might not work out in Young Thug and YSL’s favor. For example, prosecutors recently requested the removal of a particular potential juror after they tracked him for weeks. Apparently, he didn’t live in Fulton County as he promised, and this instance makes it clear that the prosecution will be thorough and strict with their evaluations. With protocols like these, it could take even longer for a jury to settle, something we’ve been saying for far too long.

Meanwhile, every other aspect of the RICO trial is in limbo at the moment, with all eyes on the jury selection. Hopefully this process wraps up soon and the court can finally get to the meat of this case. After all, many lives and families depend on it, and suffered for over a year to get to this frustrating point. Young Thug & YSL RICO Trial Prosecutors Tracked Possible Juror For Weeks: Report

The already slow-moving jury selection process in Young Thug and YSL’s RICO case changed in a pretty significant way this week. Moreover, Fulton County prosecutors- according to AllHipHop– reportedly admitted to following a potential juror in the trial for weeks. Specifically, they motioned for Judge Ural Glanville to dismiss the individual after weeks of surveillance on behalf of these attorneys, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Furthermore, their claims include that the male juror in question does not actually live in Fulton County, Georgia, but rather a Cobb County apartment, another Georgia area. For what it’s worth, he insisted that he lives mostly with his mother in Fulton County during jury selection procedures.

Of course, this surveillance process meant that the prosecution could counter these claims in the YSL RICO trial. As such, they alleged that the potential juror spent 28 out of 30 nights in his Cobb County apartment, and license plate readers claim he was never near his mother’s home when in Fulton County. According to these reports, the legal defense team expressed shock at the admission of this tracking. “I think it is improper,” Suri Chadha Jimenez, an attorney on the defense team, remarked to AJC. “It’s not right to do this to citizens who are not criminals. They’re surveilling people who are doing their civic duty by showing up to jury service. He did nothing wrong.”

Regardless of these qualms, prosecutors stood by their decision in the YSL case. For example, a Fulton County District Attorney explained that a juror outside of Fulton County would result in an overturned verdict. “As is permitted by law, we review public records of jurors to ensure they are eligible to serve on a jury, particularly in major cases,” they noted. “Our review of this juror’s public information indicates that he lives in Cobb County, making it illegal for him to serve on a Fulton County jury. A further review confirmed he is ineligible. At no time did anyone from the DA’s office have contact with the juror.”

Meanwhile, all this deliberation and extra steps to judge jurors did not result in a speedier selection. After all, Thugger still needs people on his jury for the trial to finally get in motion. Even then, it could be a very long process, so we’ll keep you posted on the latest updates in this case. For more news on Young Thug and YSL, come back to HNHH.

Coi Leray’s Paris Fashion Week Flexes Begin In All Black With Tracee Ellis Ross At YSL

After stops in New York, London, and Milan, it’s finally time for Paris Fashion Week, which arguably brings out some of the best celebrity street style of the season. As per usual there was an exciting roster of famous guests at each presentation. In particular, YSL and one of their front-row attendees, Coi Leray, have already caught our attention. On Tuesday (September 26), the Boston-born baddie’s Instagram feed began filling up with commemorative photos and videos from her time in the City of Love.

She was definitely still showing some skin, but Leray’s look of choice was notably less revealing than other styles she’s donned recently. The 26-year-old paired her little black halter-neck dress with a pair of leather thigh-high boots in the same colour. Seeing as the seasons have transitioned from summer to fall, she kept her petite frame warm under a large puffer jacket before completing the look with sunglasses.

Not long after the above video arrived on her IG page, Leray returned with a selection of photos taken on her big day out. She posed with fellow nepo baby Tracee Ellis Ross and snapped candid photos in front of a massive YSL sign.

Seeing as events in Paris are still ongoing, it’s likely we’ll see the COI artist stepping out in more designer duds. Prior to her appearance in Europe, she was on stage in Australia, where the crowd couldn’t get enough of her vivacious personality.

Young Thug Pushes For Speedy Trial In YSL RICO Case

Young Thug has been behind bars since May of 2022, facing various RICO charges surrounding his label YSL. Prosecutors have dubbed YSL a “criminal street gang,” accusing Young Thug of being its leader. He and 27 others were indicted last year. The rapper and his defense team deny these allegations, insisting that YSL is simply a label. Fans and peers alike have continued to call for his release, particularly since he’s struggled with his health recently.

Now, Young Thug has filed legal paperwork to speed up the process of his trial. The demand was served to Judge Ural Glanville and prosecutors recently. The rapper’s legal battle has been long and difficult, and his trial has yet to have an official start date. Jury selection began in January of this year, and is still ongoing. Fans were relieved to see Young Thug in seemingly good spirits during a court appearance this month, due to concerning reports about his health earlier this year.

Back in May, Young Thug fans were worried after it was reported that he had been hospitalized for chest pain ahead of a court appearance. The news followed his attorney Brian Steel calling out Fulton County Jail for failing to provide adequate food options to inmates. Steel claimed that the rapper had been surviving off of a diet of chocolate and chips. He also raised concerns surrounding Young Thug’s access to outdoor areas, exercise, sunlight, and more. He additionally said that Young Thug has been deprived of sleep, claiming that he only gets five hours of rest each day, and even less when he’s summoned for a court appearance.

On a positive note, Young Thug’s girlfriend Mariah the Scientist has been holding him down throughout his prison stay. “I feel like, and this is in all honesty, there is nobody on planet Earth that can get between me and supporting my man,” she revealed in a recent interview. “I’m sorry, it’s just not gonna happen.” Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Young Thug.

Gunna Shows Love To Young Thug At First Post-Jail Show

Gunna went out of his way to show love to Young Thug during his first show since being released from jail last year. Performing at the Barclay Center in New York, Gunna opened the show with a large “Free Jeffery” sign lit up. Young Thug’s legal name is Jeffrey Williams Jr. While Gunna released his first post-jail album, A Gift & a Curse, earlier this year, he hadn’t yet performed live. That all changed with an electric concert in front of a sold-out crowd in New York.

While many fans were over the moon to see Gunna return to the stage, not everyone was happy. Gunna is still carrying a lot of stigma over the plea deal he took in the YSL RICO case. Gunna’s December 2022 jail release came after he took a plea deal and acknowledged that YSL was a criminal gang. Furthermore, Gunna’s sentence would be completely terminated after completing community service. This has led many to label Gunna a rat and a coward. These people believe that he sold out Thug and the other members of YSL.

While Gunna is free and performing, his YSL peers are looking at a much bleaker future. After YSL Polo was convicted of shooting a man on camera, prosecutors in Georgia successfully lobbied for the resumption of the larger YSL trial. Thug and seven other defendants are facing a litany of charges relating to the group’s operations in Atlanta. However, it has been a long and tortured process. Despite the trial starting in January, jury selection is currently ongoing. It is unclear when the trial proper will actually begin. Meanwhile, things were complicated further when Fulton County also indicted Donald Trump and over a dozen associates on charges relating to his interference in the 2020 election.

Despite renewed pleas for Thug to receive bond, the YSL leader and many of his peers remain behind bars in Georgia. The trial is set to resume as soon as October. However, many legal experts expect that it could last another six to eight months. Despite this, that could be further delayed based on what happens with the Trump case, which is also ongoing but not yet at the trial stage. All of this remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge. Follow all the latest news about the YSL trial here at HotNewHipHop.

Co-Defendant in YSL RICO Convicted of Murder in Separate Indictment

YSL Polo Search X

YSL Polo, legally known as Cordarius Dorsey, has been convicted of murder. Polo is one of the co-defendants of Young Thug in the YSL Rico Trial.

According to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, YSL Polo is guilty for the 2020 murder of Xavier Arlondor Turner. The shooting happened outside a barbershop in College Park, Georgia. Investigators were able to match YSL Polo’s clothing with that of the gunman. In addition, Polo sent texts about committing the murder.

YSL Polo was already serving time for the murder of another man in 2019. The shooting was connected to a robbery at a gas station.

The most recent conviction was not a part of the RICO trial, which will now resume.
