Quavo Invites Fan Wearing Young Thug Shirt On Stage In Dubai

Quavo has made headlines as he invited a fan on stage during a concert in Dubai. While not an uncommon occurrence, the fan was notable because he was wearing a Young Thug t-shirt. Quavo appeared on Thug’s album released earlier this year and has repeatedly called for Thug’s release. Quavo celebrated the fan’s shirt before letting him go back into the crowd.

Quavo continues to be seen out and about following his very public split from Cardi B. While they did briefly reunite for Christmas, the pair are very much going separate ways. Things appear to have brewing for a while, but really exploded right before Christmas. “He likes to play games with me. He knows that I’m at my house because he knows I am not doing my most. I’ve been sparing you, b-tch a– n-gga. Your b-tch a– album is sh-t. F-cking doing me d-rty after so many years that I helped your motherf-cking a–. Not even a f-cking thank you,” Cardi said in a tearful livestream.

Quavo Steps Out At Unruly Fest

However, Quavo has been making a wave of big appearances as of late. He made a surprise appearance at Unruly Fest in Jamaica, stepping out with Popcaan for the latter’s set. The crowd was understandably overjoyed to see the former Migos rapper step out. However, not everyone was a fan of the appearance. “American artists always go to Jamaica and dress like it’s Independence Day 😂😂😂 , but big up unnu self 🙌❤ 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲,” one person said on Instagram.

However, things got a little too unruly at Unruly Fest as the cops pulled the plug on the festival early, citing safety concerns. According to senior police officers, they had let the show run on a hour longer than the festival’s permit. However, Popcaan, who also organizes Unruly Fest, had some harsh words for the cops. In a statement about the abrupt shut down, Popcaan said that things like shut were the reason that St. Thomas “couldn’t do better”.

Gunna Shows Love To Young Thug At First Post-Jail Show

Gunna went out of his way to show love to Young Thug during his first show since being released from jail last year. Performing at the Barclay Center in New York, Gunna opened the show with a large “Free Jeffery” sign lit up. Young Thug’s legal name is Jeffrey Williams Jr. While Gunna released his first post-jail album, A Gift & a Curse, earlier this year, he hadn’t yet performed live. That all changed with an electric concert in front of a sold-out crowd in New York.

While many fans were over the moon to see Gunna return to the stage, not everyone was happy. Gunna is still carrying a lot of stigma over the plea deal he took in the YSL RICO case. Gunna’s December 2022 jail release came after he took a plea deal and acknowledged that YSL was a criminal gang. Furthermore, Gunna’s sentence would be completely terminated after completing community service. This has led many to label Gunna a rat and a coward. These people believe that he sold out Thug and the other members of YSL.

While Gunna is free and performing, his YSL peers are looking at a much bleaker future. After YSL Polo was convicted of shooting a man on camera, prosecutors in Georgia successfully lobbied for the resumption of the larger YSL trial. Thug and seven other defendants are facing a litany of charges relating to the group’s operations in Atlanta. However, it has been a long and tortured process. Despite the trial starting in January, jury selection is currently ongoing. It is unclear when the trial proper will actually begin. Meanwhile, things were complicated further when Fulton County also indicted Donald Trump and over a dozen associates on charges relating to his interference in the 2020 election.

Despite renewed pleas for Thug to receive bond, the YSL leader and many of his peers remain behind bars in Georgia. The trial is set to resume as soon as October. However, many legal experts expect that it could last another six to eight months. Despite this, that could be further delayed based on what happens with the Trump case, which is also ongoing but not yet at the trial stage. All of this remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge. Follow all the latest news about the YSL trial here at HotNewHipHop.

Young Thug Memes That Fit The Bill

Young Thug memes have the peculiar ability to blend well with various moods. Young Thug is a personification of whatever the mind wishes to conjure up (and that’s a compliment). The “Digits” rapper is not exactly in his best season, albeit talent is always a different subject. His ongoing legal troubles provoke intellectual topics, soaring above the little corners societies have flung rap into. Attention begets memes, and Thugger’s pre-trial drama confirms this theory. The zoom call incident reproduced itself at warp speed. Memes and GIFs of the controversial video (showing a naked man dancing) stormed the global community. The #freethugger trend also veered into frolicsome dimensions as the fans await news of the rapper’s legal fate. It can be inferred, therefore, that when people play around with Thugger memes, they tactfully redefine “real life.”

The versatility of Young Thug’s career functions as an incentive for memes—even the ones validated by forefront fans. Jerrika Karlae, Thugger’s ex-lover, customized an analogy with a detail of their then-routine, as it were. She reminded fans of the visual similarity between Slime Season 3 cover art and Netflix’s Bird Box. Predominantly, both works featured the gesture of blindfolding, one as aesthetics and one as a life jacket. The crux, in brief, was that the mixtape cover had translated into a movie meme overnight. To top it all, she seized the opportunity to advertise their love life. Who are we to complain? Thugger memes are always in the spotlight for fated reasons…

Young Thug A Paintings

Ingenious things come in unexpected packages, and that’s what we adore about @youngthugaspaintings. Created in the Netherlands, the aforementioned is an IG gallery of Young Thug pictures juxtaposed with classical paintings. The originator had been assigned a photographic project in school, and the nature of submission had been highly liberal. For Hajar Benjida, it wasn’t more about recognizing an opportunity than going with the flow. She extended the project to Instagram in a refusal to cage it in the subjective boxes of her teachers. The decision paid off, as the meme account worked its way to the Miami Art Week as an exhibit. Viral memes needn’t be humorous, and Hajar Benjida has categorically proven that point.

Thugger Releases “Harambe”

Another case study is Harambe: while people turn songs into memes, Young Thug turns memes into songs. The purpose of the title is debatable; however, its connection to the 2016 gorilla incident is clearly perceivable. All we’re certain of is that Thugger projected a deliberate nuance of fury in the lyrics. That said, we’re not all on the same page regarding the actual titular message. Be that as it may, it stands tall among the greatest memes—and songs—of all time. Need we state that it checked these two boxes in a single year?! Despite not technically being a Thugger meme, “Harambe” thrives. It even went on to further deify the Georgian rapper.

No, My Name Is Jeffery

Young Thug’s rhythm genius is a truism. All the more, he exceeds the phonology of rap by being rhythmic about his flamboyance as well! His name change to “No, My Name is Jeffery” was not his only joker card. That year, he shared his name with his mixtape, the cover of which bred a literal meme-making business. He was attired in an artfully epicene manner to either defy gender policing or provoke a buzz. The goal behind the style was immaterial, as fans wasted no time crafting the memes, regardless.

One rib-tickling fan transformed the cover to Beyoncé’s Lemonade by adapting a line in “Hold Up.” The modified line read: “What a wicked way to treat the Thug that loves you.” The meme even altered the actual image by making Young Thug hold the exact baseball bat Beyoncé held. Yes, “exact” also implies the bat bore the same label as Beyoncé’s. Many more Jeffery memes of similar quality emerged that year, and each was indeed a scream.

Young Thug Meme: Cloak-And-Dagger

“Young Thug and Lil Durk Troubleshooting” is not a category but a single meme. It’s a picture of Young Thug creasing his forehead and Lil Durk dilating his eyes. It boasts three contradictory goss phases, with the 2021 reveal coming across as the most reliable. First, Alex Tumay based believable conjectures on Thugger’s Pro Tools Engineering skills. Next, a post “resurrected” the meme, collocating it with a “Laugh Now Cry Later” freeze-frame of Durk. Durk played along with the Twitter hint by declaring Thugger had shown him $20M. Finally, in 2021, Thugger got candid with us, but within limits! His coaxed promise to Durk was to conceal the meme’s “definitely non-ProTools” story. Whoops—not even this interview could make him that guy. Young Thug is good at keeping secrets, but his memes do not follow suit!

Young Scooter: Young Thug “Gone Be Home Before Summer”

The YSL Rico trial in Atlanta is swiftly approaching. While most of the YSL Records artists named in the indictment struck guilty plea deals, others still remain in jail. Yak Gotti hasn’t landed a plea deal, but of course, the biggest YSL artist behind bars is Young Thug

Although the trial officially starts on January 9, 2023, there have been plenty of court hearings leading up to it. According to a recent post from DJ Akademiks, prominent Atlanta rapper Young Scooter has attended every single one.

Young Scooter and Trae Tha Truth show support for Young Thug ahead of his RICO trial.

On Wednesday, December 28, Young Scooter shared a photo of himself alongside Houston rapper and humanitarian Trae Tha Truth. The two rappers reportedly attended Young Thug’s latest court hearing to show support for the incarcerated rapper. Interestingly, Young Scooter made a huge claim about Thug’s case in his latest Instagram post.

“JUST LEFT COURT WIT [snake emoji] HE GONE BE HOME BEFORE SUMMER @traeabn REAL ONE [fist emoji],” Scooter wrote.

In a screenshot from his Instagram story, the Jugg King artist wrote, “BEEN AT EVERY COURT DATE WIT U. KNOW IM ALWAYS WIT U BRA, EVEN WHEN U THINK THE WORLD AGAINST U.”

Trae Tha Truth also posted the photo to his Instagram profile. For the caption, the Houston native shared some kind and supportive words for Thugger.

“Me & @youngscooter Pulled Up To Court To Support @thuggerthugger1” Trae Tha Truth wrote. “Real Ones Need To Stand By Him… He Need Real Luv… Salute!!”

Despite Trae Tha Truth and Young Scooter’s supportive updates, Thug’s YSL case just got muddied even more. According to WSB-TV, a seventh co-defendant in the YSL Rico case. With the trial set to begin in January, Young Thug has a huge legal battle ahead of them.
