Young Thug’s Kids Star In Adorable Sp5der Promo Video For His Birthday

Today, Young Thug celebrates his 33rd birthday, although he must do so behind bars. The rapper is currently in the midst of a highly publicized RICO trial, which first began in November of last year. It’s since become the longest trial in Georgia’s state history, and it remains unclear when it might finally come to an end. Regardless, countless loved ones, peers, and fans are posting tributes in honor of Young Thug’s birthday, including his kids.

Recently, they shared a promo video for his brand Sp5der, which features his song “Daddy’s Birthday.” In the video, they rock the brand’s hoodies, beanies, and more. Of course, fans are showing love to both the YSL founder and his kids as they await the conclusion of his long-winded legal battle.

Young Thug Turns 33 In Prison

Young Thug’s kids aren’t the only ones celebrating his birthday while he’s behind bars, however. Earlier today, Gunna also hopped on his Instagram Story to share some old photos of him and Young Thug. His posts didn’t arrive alongside a message, though it’s clear he was putting their friendship on display in honor of the occasion. As for Young Thug’s trial, it doesn’t appear that it’ll come to an end anytime soon. Lil Woody, the star witness who frequently goes viral for his courtroom antics, unleashed on the state in an explosive rant earlier this month.

He accused them of exploiting him, pressuring him, and more. “I don’t recall nothing that happened years ago,” Lil Woody said in court. “I just know that every time the police were after me and trying to get me, they kept bringing his name up. Whatever y’all want me to say, I’ma say it.” What do you think of Young Thug spending his 33rd birthday behind bars? Gunna Celebrates Young Thug’s Birthday Amid YSL RICO Trial

It goes without saying that Young Thug and Gunna have been through a lot together. Aside from teaming up for various collaborations, they were also both arrested as part of a 56-count RICO case in May of 2022. Young Thug remains behind bars, and his trial is currently underway, whereas Gunna got out in December of that year after accepting a plea deal.

This led to rumors that he “snitched” on his codefendants, though he denies this. Social media users continue to accuse him of being a rat anyway, but Gunna hasn’t let that stop him from putting their friendship on full display. Earlier today, for example, he took to his Instagram Story to share some old photos of the two of them together in honor of Young Thug’s 33rd birthday.

Gunna Shows Love To Young Thug

While fans are glad to see Gunna showing love to Young Thug amid the latter’s longwinded legal battle, this doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise. He frequently calls for his release on social media, at his shows, and more. He even featured Young Thug’s father, Jeffery Williams Sr., in the “One Of Wun” music video he released this month. Williams Sr. has previously said that Gunna hasn’t done anything to hurt his son’s case, despite critics’ speculation. Moreover, in a chat with XXL in April, Gunna claimed that their friendship hadn’t changed as a result of the plea deal. “It’s the same,” he told the outlet. “It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship.”

As for Young Thug’s trial, it doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. Last week, a clip of the rapper falling asleep in court even made its rounds online, proving that he’s just as exhausted as one would expect. What do you think of Gunna showing love to Young Thug in honor of his 33rd birthday? Are you surprised or not? Lil Woody Almost Breaks Character Due To Shocking Question At Young Thug Trial

Lil Woody’s testimony during the Young Thug trial has been an absolute firestorm, and that’s not counting the six-month suspension that his lawyer received. However, there have also been some cracks through the system, and a recent court interaction has many fans thinking that he almost broke character and spilled some more tea about an incident that he forgot about and might still feel a type of way over. The court asked Woody about a situation that happened when a group of men jumped him, and while he initially said that he didn’t recall what he specifically told detectives, he eventually said that “They time gon’ come,” suggesting that something did happen and that he’s still hurt by it.

Of course, this is all incredibly understandable, and to say that this is Lil Woody “breaking character” misrepresents what he agreed to do for this trial. But there are many conflicting aspects to his state’s witness role, as he recently claimed to have lied to police about Young Thug’s alleged crimes in order to stay out of trouble and get the cops off his back.

In addition, prosecutors treated Lil Woody as a “hostile witness” after an explosive rant against the state for pressuring him during this Young Thug and YSL case. “Like I told you before y’all called me to trial, I have lied,” he initially expressed, with his subsequent disparaging comments against a detective being what made him “hostile” in the eyes of the prosecution. “I made things up, I told you this before y’all brought me in this courtroom, and I’m telling you now. You asked me about 2015. I had got my life together.

“Y’all are trying to put this on my conscience, y’all are trying to put people’s lives in my hands,” Lil Woody continued in the Young Thug trial. “I don’t want to lie on people, I don’t want to be here, y’all have pressured me. I’m tired of y’all ’cause y’all know y’all wrong, and y’all Black people doing this to us. Leave me alone, let me leave. Man, y’all pissing me off. Listen, I don’t recall nothing I said to no police, stop asking me these questions. I’m telling you I don’t recall. That’s what you want me to say?”

Lil Woody’s Lawyer Hit With 6-Month Suspension Amid YSL Case

The Supreme Court of Georgia has issued a six-month suspension for Lil Woody’s attorney, Jonathan R. Melnick, for conduct unrelated to the YSL RICO trial. He allegedly failed to notify a client of an important court proceeding in a child support case. The decision was announced in an opinion published on August 13th.

“Having carefully reviewed the record and the parties’ contentions, we determine that a suspension is appropriate given that Melnick’s misconduct was willful rather than negligent and harmed his client and the fact that he has received three prior disciplinary sanctions for similar conduct. See ABA Standards 4.42 (a) and 8.2, Bar Rule 4-103,” the court wrote. “We further determine that the mitigating factors do not outweigh the aggravating factors. Thus, based on the particular facts of this case and this Court’s prior precedent in similar cases, we conclude that a six-month suspension is the appropriate sanction for Melnick’s violations of Rules 1.3 and 1.4.”

Young Thug’s Lawyer Arrives At Fulton County Courthouse

Brian Steel, attorney for rapper Young Thug, right, arrives at the Fulton County Courthouse on November 27, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. Opening statements are set to begin in the case against 31-year-old US rapper Young Thug and 28 others, who are facing a racketeering indictment accusing the defendants of a number of offenses that support an overarching conspiracy charge, including murder, assault, carjacking, drug dealing, and theft. The opinion concludes: “Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that Jonathan R. Melnick is suspended from the practice of law in Georgia for six months. The suspension based on this opinion will take effect as of the date this opinion is issued and will expire by its own terms six months later.” Check out the full filing below.

Lil Woody’s Lawyer Faces Suspension

As for the YSL trial, Woody came back on the stand in Fulton County on Monday. He admitted to lying about almost everything he previously claimed in 2015 in an effort to avoid jail time. Be on the lookout for further updates on the YSL RICO case on HotNewHipHop.

Lil Woody Admits He Lied About Young Thug’s Crimes To Avoid Trouble

Lil Woody just launched a scathing rant against the prosecution while taking the stand during Young Thug and YSL’s RICO trial. Moreover, he accused them of trying to exploit him as the state’s witness, pressuring him to give them what they want in the case, asking old questions about old statements without properly representing them, and not allowing him to make his peace with the matter. In addition, Woody also explained why he spoke on Thugger in the first place and claimed that he lied about everything he told police back in 2015 about the rapper’s alleged crimes in order to get them off his back and avoid trouble.

“I don’t recall nothing that happened years ago,” Lil Woody said during his court appearance in Young Thug’s trial. “I just know that every time the police were after me and trying to get me, they kept bringing his name up. Whatever y’all want me to say, I’ma say it. That’s why they kept coming after me because they felt like they could make a case after him. And y’all wrong because y’all know that I’m full of s**t. And y’all keep trying to drag me to bring up bulls**t that y’all know that I’ve said. Why is y’all doing that? Leave me alone.”

Lil Woody Claims His “Snitching” Concerning Young Thug Was All A Lie

Furthermore, the prosecution continued to ask Lil Woody about the 2015 details of Young Thug’s alleged crimes. Despite his inability or refusal to recall these statements, his current stance contradicts his supposed years-ago assurances that he understood he was snitching and the allegedly verifiable facts that authorities were able to gain from their conversations. At press time, Woody’s time on the stand hasn’t finished in this first trial day back after weeks of recess.

Meanwhile, Lil Woody has a choice now: testify and fall back in line with his 2015 confessions, or go back to jail. From what these new updates indicate, it’s still very much up in the air, and the prosecution has a headache to deal with moving forward. Amid all this, there still hasn’t been much actual case development when it comes to identifying whether Young Thug or his co-defendants are guilty. Hopefully, this trial can eventually focus up and start getting to the bottom of that more humanely, effectively, professionally, and truthfully.

Quavo Chants “Free Young Thug” While Performing “Pick Up The Phone”

Quavo called for the freedom of Young Thug while performing his iconic collaboration with the YSL rapper and Travis Scott, “Pick Up The Phone,” during the Clout Festival over the weekend. A clip of the moment has been going viral on social media as Thug remains behind bars while the ongoing trial for his case continues.

Fans have mostly responded positively to the clip; however, some users have been labeling him hypocritical considering his stance on gun control. “Is he for control on gun violence or not?!” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, referring to his recent comments during a rally for Kamala Harris. Speaking at the Vice President’s campaign event in Atlanta, he reflected on the tragic death of his Migos partner, Takeoff and called for an end to gun violence.

He isn’t the only one to voice support for Thug in recent days. Speaking with Adin Ross for a recent livestream, former President Donald Trump promised to look into his case if he wins the upcoming election. “I heard that actually,” Trump responded to Ross claiming Thug has been receiving unfair treatment. “So, I’ve heard about him and I’ve heard he’s being treated very unfairly by her [Willis] and I would tell her she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all– it’s terrible. They’re going after them.” He concluded: “He’s gotta be treated fairly.” Meek Mill also co-signed those comments for Trump in a post on X. “Free Jeffrey. …. A loving man that put on a lot of people on in atl and created millions for a bunch of families from nothing!” he wrote.

Young Thug Falls Asleep During YSL RICO Trial: Watch

Young Thug’s RICO trial continues, and after several months of legal proceedings, it looks like the YSL founder is worn out. In a new clip making its rounds online, he’s even seen dozing off in the courtroom as his lawyer Brian Steel speaks to the judge. While fans find the clip amusing, they certainly can’t blame Young Thug for getting in some much-needed rest. After all, his first trial began in November of last year, and his retrial shows no signs of coming to a close any time soon.

Young Thug has also been behind bars since May of 2022, which surely hasn’t helped. “106 days on trial I’d be tired too!” one Instagram user writes in The Shade Room‘s comments section. “He said WRAP IT UP,” someone else jokes.

Young Thug Looks Exhausted

Despite repeated requests for a speedy trial, it’s been anything but so far. In fact, it’s become the longest in Georgia history, which likely explains Young Thug’s exhaustion. Just last month, a new judge was assigned to his case, following two others’ recusals. While the rapper and his lawyer were admittedly relieved to have someone new overseeing the trial, it seems to have caused even more delays. To make matters more frustrating, his latest bond request was denied late last month, meaning that he’s no closer to freedom.

Fans continue to call for Young Thug’s release and to raise concerns about how he’s been treated throughout the trial. Recently, Donald Trump even appeared on Adin Ross’ stream, where he accused District Attorney Fani Willis of treating him unfairly. “I would tell [Willis] she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all– it’s terrible. They’re going after them,” he said. “He’s gotta be treated fairly.” What do you think of Young Thug falling asleep in court? Can you blame him? Meek Mill Co-Signs Donald Trump’s Young Thug Stance

Meek Mill responded to Donald Trump’s comments on Young Thug and the ongoing YSL RICO trial in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. In doing so, he agreed with the former President about Thug receiving unfair treatment from the court system and called for his freedom. “Free Jeffrey. …. A loving man that put on a lot of people on in atl and created millions for a bunch of families from nothing!” Meek wrote.

Trump had discussed Thug’s legal situation during an interview with Adin Ross earlier in the day. Ross brought up the topic of Young Thug while speaking with Trump about various celebrities. He mentioned that district attorney Fani Willis has been treating the rapper unfairly. “I heard that actually,” Trump responded. “So, I’ve heard about him and I’ve heard he’s being treated very unfairly by her [Willis] and I would tell her she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all– it’s terrible. They’re going after them.” He concluded: “He’s gotta be treated fairly.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Trump discussed the Democratic Party switching to run Kamala Harris against him in the upcoming election. He accused them of staging a coup against Joe Biden to do so. “I don’t know if I was brilliant or he [Biden] was horrible, maybe a combination of both … he’s done tremendous damage to our country. I actually think he’s smarter than her [Harris], and I think he’s a really not smart person. She was convenient, she was there. They have much better people. All the people were better than her. They would’ve run, but they didn’t want to go through the roadblock that was her.” Additionally, he discussed Kanye West and labeled the controversial rapper a “really nice guy” but admitted he’s a “complicated” person.

YSL Co-Founder Defends Gunna From Snitching Allegations

YSL co-founder Mondo has come to the defense of Gunna with a statement on his Instagram Story. Addressing the rumors that the One of Wun rapper snitched on Young Thug to avoid prison time, Mondo argued that the real rat is still out there somewhere. He also says he regrets ever speaking on Gunna and admitted he never technically snitched.

“I’m man enough to say I should’ve never spoke about the Gunna situation cause technically he didn’t rat he just kinda folded under pressure & should’ve just stayed down with his mans till everything was over cause all the originals know he ain’t did nothing wasn’t even around from the beginning so he wasn’t gone do no real time regardless,” he began. “I feel bad cause now a n***a who literally is a real live rat running round the city getting glorified & smiling like he ain’t just send multiple n****s to jail.”

Young Thug Denied Mistrial And Bond By New Judge In YSL RICO Case

Screenshot 2024 07 31 at 8.50.43 AM

The third judge in Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial hasn’t changed the circumstances for the troubled rapper, who has now been denied a mistrial and a bond in his last hearing.

The YSL RICO trial resumed yesterday(July 30) after a delay due to a new judge needed after Judge Glanville was removed on July 15 following a private meeting with prosecutors and a state witness without the knowledge of Thug’s legal team.

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, who has been recently assigned to the trial, denied both motions by Thug’s legal team. The mistrial motion filed by Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel was based on the original judge’s finding that his own controversial ex parte hearing was not improper. Whitaker said that declaring a mistrial for that reason would be equivalent to acting as an appeals court, which is beyond the scope of her responsibilities.

Whitaker denied the bond hearing, ruling that recent events do not constitute a “change in circumstances,” noting that Judge Ural Glanville was not removed because he was biased.

Young Thug’s co-defendant and fellow YSL rapper Yak Gotti (real name Deamonte Kendrick) also filed a motion for a mistrial in the turbulent case.

On this, Judge Whitaker said the motion is similar to the motion to disqualify the prosecutors (which she said she needs more time on) and that she needed to go through the transcripts a little further before making a ruling.

Whitaker also said she will make a “substantive finding” about the ex parte hearing on Wednesday (July 31).
