Cardi B Seizes $640 More From Tasha K Via YouTube Checks

What Cardi B wants, Cardi B gets. After winning the judgment in her defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K in 2022, Cardi B will take home a multi-million dollar payment to compensate for her trauma and legal fees, among other things. Several months later, it was reported that the Invasion of Privacy hitmaker was seeking options to speed up the process. At this time, her enemy has yet to pay her back even $1M of the nearly four still owed.

Tasha spent the first few months of 2023 scrambling to arrange a new trial, though her appeal was ultimately denied. In March, she offered an apology to Cardi over all the drama. However, we all know words don’t pay the bills. By April, the mother of two was exploring options to seize the online entertainer’s property. Instead, she seems to have landed on taking home the checks she’s been making from ad revenue on YouTube as well as her website.

Cardi B Continues to Pinch Tasha K’s Pockets

As RadarOnline reports, Cardi took $9,304.81 from Tasha at the end of last month and is now ready to pick up her next check. This one is much smaller, coming in at just $640 and hardly making a dent in the pile she’s still in debt to the New Yorker. It remains unclear if Bardi is still looking at taking over TK’s home, or how much that would scrape off her bill, though she’s likely feeling frustrated after the internet star’s endless attempts to delay the process of paying up.

Their beef stems all the way back to 2019, at which time the Hustlers actress sued Tasha K over accusations of prostitution, drug use, and false STI allegations. How long do you think it will take her to pay Cardi B back the money she’s owed? Let us know in the comments, and tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Swizz Beatz Talks Introducing Burna Boy & Wizkid To The States

Swizz Beatz has been a part of many monumental musical moments. From his tapes with Lil Wayne, to his new EP honoring 50 years of Hip-Hop, Swizz has been a central piece in Hip-Hop history. Recently, the star producer appeared on Amazon Music’s Roundtable Rotation, with Rob Markman, Speedy Morman, Nyla Symone, and Gabe P. During the interview, Swizz Beatz made claims that he introduced America to Afrobeat stars, Burna Boy and Wizkid. He also made even bolder claims regarding his impact on bring Afrobeats to the U.S. audience.

“See, the key thing that you said was you got on a plane and you went to Ghana and now you’re stuck on Afrobeats,” he said to the outlet. Swizz Beatz continued, “I introduced Wizkid to America. I was the first person to play his song.” Not only that, the super producer noted that he and his wife, Alicia Keys, even danced to Wizkid on a trip. Furthermore, Swizz went into more detail about his impact on introducing Afrobeats to America. “[I was the] first person to bring Burna Boy to the States,” he told Speedy and the gang.

Swizz Beatz Makes Bold Claims

Additionally, Swizz Beatz mentioned, “Actually, he had a Ruff Ryders bandana on and I introduced him on the stage.” The Ruff Ryders producer also noted how the Afrobeats sound is piercing through and how he’s trying to keep the momentum going. “It’s piercing through, by the way. People are more open-minded — they just need the right entry point,” Swizz added. While Swizz Beatz might’ve thought he was showing love for the global success of Afrobeats, others had mixed feelings.

Godwin Tom, managing director of Sony Music Publishing, Nigeria, responded in a tweet detailing Wizkid’s success from his eyes. “Here is a story for you… @MI_Abaga put Wiz on his groundbreaking album ‘Talk About It’ and properly introduced him to the market,” he began. While going into even more detail about the Afrobeats artist’s rise to success he also gave thanks to Swizz and Akon for showing love. However, he didn’t want a false narrative being spun either. “We are making a mistake in allowing others tell our stories and soon we won’t have a story or history and guess what… these videos with Swizz and Akon will be referenced in America,” he tweeted. Is Godwin Tom right? How did you stumble upon Afrobeats? Let us know in the comments!

Cardi B Seizing Tasha K’s YouTube Checks While Awaiting $4M Defamation Judgement: Report

The dramatic saga between Cardi B and Tasha K continues. The YouTuber found herself in a tremendously expensive pot of boiling water a few months ago. At the time, a judge ruled that the YouTuber was guilty of defaming the rap diva in her online videos. The former previously alleged that Cardi worked as an escort before finding fame. She also shared stories of using hard drugs and claims that she had contracted an STI. In court, the mother of three denied working in the sex trade or contracting any sort of illness. She also noted the extreme emotional distress caused by Tasha’s allegations, specifically sharing that it resulted in marital problems between her and Offset.

“Only an evil person could do that shit,” the New Yorker said on the stand. She also was candid in revealing that she sought professional help to deal with her mental health after being defamed. Ultimately, Cardi was awarded $1M in general damages, $250K for medical expenses, $1.5M in punitive damages, and finally, $1.3M for her attorney fees. It’s certainly a major win for the Invasion of Privacy hitmaker. Still, it might be some time before she gets her dues in full. According to a report from RadarOnline, Bardi has taken steps to begin seizing Tasha K’s YouTube checks.

Cardi B Demands Her Coins

The former stripper apparently sent subpoenas to both her nemesis’ bank and Google, who oversee Tasha’s ad revenue on YouTube and her website. “YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED to immediately hold all money, including wages, and other property, except what is known to be exempt, belonging to the Defendant or obligations owed to the Defendant named above beginning on the day of service of this summons and including the next 1,095 days,” a notice obtained by the outlet reads.

A rep for Google reportedly spoke with the “WAP” rapper about the matter. They revealed that the embattled creator had $9,304.81 in revenue. The former is now taking action with the court so that the funds can be handed to her immediately as she awaits the other $3M+. Do you think Cardi B is out of pocket for seizing Tasha K’s YouTube checks? Let us know in the comments, and tap back in later for more pop culture news updates.

In a recent interview with Big Boy TV, the New York rapper opened up about signing his first major deal with Jive Records in 2007 after blazing through the mixtape seen as a young and hungry artist. Papoose notes that “It was the worst mistake I ever made in my life.”

During his mixtape days despite working with DJ Kay Slay the New York native said he garnered many “haters” who could’ve negatively impacted his career. He explained that “in conjunction with a lot of other things, people stood down.” His first single had a Snoop Dogg feature and was produced by Scott Storch. However, the label didn’t promote it, resulting in the deal folding.

Follow your dreams and now you got someone in position who knows how hard it is, who knows how discouraging it can be at times.” Signing that $1.5 million record deal might’ve been the worst mistake Papoose ever made. Overall, despite his setbacks, Papoose has turned his entire career around. Now he’s using his experiences to help emerging artists through his position at TuneCore. MrBeast Calls Out Transphobia Aimed At Friend

If there are two things America seemingly hates, it’s trans people and MrBeast. 2023 alone has seen the introduction of 496 anti-LGBTQ bills into state and national legislatures. A vast majority of these bills explicitly target transgender individuals in a variety of ways. These bills range from removing protected category status to the forcible de-transition of minors receiving hormone therapy in that state.

As for MrBeast, the YouTuber is loved and loathed in equal measure. Despite his 145 million subscribers, his content is often the subject of public scrutiny. Sometimes it’s for questionable video subjects or tweets, such as building a real-life replica of the death game from Netflix’s satirical drama Squid Game or asking fans to neaten store displays of his candy bar, Feastables. Other times it’s for what people see as his engagement in “poverty porn”, the act of engaging in philanthropy to seek credit, status, or a monetary return. However, these two hot-button issues have now collided due to a recent video.

“All This Transphobia Is Starting To Piss Me Off”

SunnyV2 is a video essay YouTuber with 3.38 million subscribers. Their most popular videos include How Primitive Building Videos Are Staged and The Tragic Transformation of Nikocado Avocado. On April 13, they uploaded Why Chris Will Soon Be A Nightmare For MrBeast. The video focuses on Chris Tyson, a long-time friend of MrBeast, who has recently opened up about starting HRT and dressing in a more feminine manner. Sunny argues that Tyson, who uses any pronouns and does not explicitly identify as transgender at this time, will cause a fall in MrBeast’s popularity. The video was met with derision from some and support from others. Many called it out as openly transphobic and pointed to other instances of Sunny misgendering gender non-conforming individuals. However, it also received a wave of support from other sources, with people using it as an opportunity to push anti-trans rhetoric.

Eventually, MrBeast gave his take. Responding to a tweet that called the video “invasive”, Beast said, “Yeah, this is getting absurd. Chris isn’t my “nightmare” he’s my fucken friend and things are fine. All this transphobia is starting to piss me off.” This was hailed as a “MrBeast says trans rights” moment by many (even though some of that MrBeast money helping fight anti-trans legislation would be an even bigger trans rights moment). However, it was a clear indication that Sunny’s video had crossed a line for the typically hands-off MrBeast. He has publicly stood by his friend while also taking a stance on the rhetoric created by Sunny’s video.

King Von “Serial Killer” Documentary Returns To YouTube

The King Von documentary, Rap’s First Serial Killer, has returned to YouTube after briefly being taken down, earlier this week. The piece connects him to several alleged murders before his death in November 2020. The creator, Trap Lore Ross, confirmed that the video was taken down in a post on Twitter, Sunday.

“Video got taken down,” Trap Lore Ross wrote at the time. “Hopefully I can get it back soon, working with YouTube now but it’s Easter weekend. Still on Patreon if you’re desperate.” The video has since been re-uploaded to the platform. The documentary puts forth the theory that Von was connected to at least ten murders. In the killing of Malcolm Stuckey, Von was acquitted prior to his death.

As for reactions to the documentary, plenty of King Von fans came to his defense. “You got p5, Ki and modell. The rest of the bodies you are accusing him of are speculated but still you chose to use ‘rap’s first serial killer’ as the title and went ahead to compare a gang banger to jeffery dahmer,” one popular Reddit post reads. “Stop spreading false information on a dead man and get your shit together you are becoming like hip-hop daily which is embarrassing.”

Others sided with the documentarian. One of the most-liked comments on the video reads, “The wild part is folks can’t be mad at dude for making this documentary the same information he’s sharing is the same information that Von HIMSELF and his peers put out there, NOBODY ELSE. This information was already there he just cumulated all of it into one complete video.”

King Von was shot and killed in Atlanta, Georgia following an altercation with Quando Rondo’s crew. He was just 26 years old. The prime suspect in the killing was identified as Timothy Leeks shortly afterward. He was later released on a $100,000 bond in March 2021. Check out Rap’s First Serial Killer below.

Eminem Was The Most Viewed Rapper On YouTube In March

Eminem is still one of the biggest names in music. One of the greatest emcees of all time, he has inspired countless rappers around the world. Moreover the Detroit native continues to remain relevant more than two decades into his career. This relevance can be seen on YouTube. As one of the few active artists whose career predates the platform, Em is still one of the sites most popular figures,

Our Generation Music recently took to Instagram to announce that Eminem was the most viewed rapper on YouTube in March. Marshall pulled in a whopping 423 million views over the course of the month. The “Lose Yourself” rapper had plenty of challengers for the crown. Artists like Drake, Jay-Z and Kodak Black all consistently pull in huge numbers on the platform. But perhaps the stiffest competition for YouTube dominance comes from NBA YoungBoy. The Louisiana superstar passed an incredible 10 billion views on YouTube in 2022. He was also the most viewed artist on the platform for the first three months of last year.

Eminem Shows No Sign of Slowing Down

However, the blistering success of the 23 year-old YoungBoy is less of an anomaly. It speaks to the impact Eminem has made on hip hop that he is still so popular so far into his career. The 50 year-old still holds the distinction of being one of the most streamed artists on earth. Furthermore, Em’s music is now being listened to by an entirely new generation. He released the song “Mockingbird” in 2005 as a touching tribute to his daughter Hailee. Last month the song reached one billion streams on Spotify. This was sparked in large part by the popularity of the song on TikTok.

However, Eminem is no stranger to success on Spotify either. In 2021, he set the record for most albums with 1 billion streams on the platform. Away from streaming, he earned yet another platinum with his most recent project. Music to be Murdered By: Side B was released in late 2020 and sold more than 250,000 copies. Eminem’s popularity is just further proof that audiences are still being captivated by one of the greatest rappers to ever pick up a microphone.
