Zack Fox Shares Teaser Trailer For Childish Gambino-Assisted Anime “YOPPAMAN”

Zack Fox is already a comedian, rapper, writer, and general internet personality at large. But he’s expanding the range of his creative output even further in the world of anime. That’s coming with a new project called YOPPAMAN which just got its first trailer earlier this week. Fox shared a full three minutes of the project to YouTube with a description that explained how it came to be. “Our question was simple: What if the employees at a dilapidated 24 hour diner (a la Waffle House) beat so many peoples’ asses that they got enlisted to protect earth in shiny bodysuits” the description reads.

In the second paragraph, he reveals a surprise collaborator. Fox is no stranger to working with big names as he’s crossed over with the likes of Thundercat and Flying Lotus in the past. But this time it was Childish Gambino and his GILGA outfit that helped Fox achieve his anime vision. “In 2023 we introduced Donald Glover to the idea and he was hype to help us build it and it’s been a blessing having him and the folks at GILGA share their platform and resources with us. As a gift to y’all we funded a lil short with our own bread so we can show you a piece of our universe instead of trying to tell you. Hope y’all enjoy it. Zack Fox Unveils New Anime Series

Earlier this year, Donald Glover announced the “final” two Childish Gambino projects. The first was called Atavista, which was simply a finished version of the project he released in 2020 3.15.2020. He also confirmed that another new album called Bando Stone and The New World will drop later this summer.

The beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake that took place earlier this year captivated rap fans in a way no other story has in a long time. Fans and members of the rap media are very much still unpacking the fallout from it. One of the most fascinating back-and-forth moments of their conflict was when Kendrick seemed to imply there was a snitch in Drake’s camp. Since then there’s been tons of discussion on just who could have been sharing information. Rap journalist and current HipHopDX editor Elliott Wilson is now insisting he wasn’t involved in the leaks following speculation sparked from a prior interview.

Wilson told a story recently during a recent appearance on the Joe Budden Podcast where he revealed that Drake sent him a rat emoji during the beef. That got fans curious as to whether he was the one sharing info from Drizzy’s camp after all. But during a recent appearance on HipHopDX‘s The Bigger Picture he shut the rumors down. It began with the aftermath of Kendrick’s “6:16 In LA.” “There was a lot of industry rumors that Drake was gonna respond that night. It wasn’t some big secret,” Wilson began. “I hit him like, ‘Yo, you dropping a joint tonight?’ I’m just sniffing around. He’s like, ‘Yeah, something, lol.’ And I saw the things where he was kinda letting Akademiks know something’s coming, ‘Get it in your stream.’ Letting Kai know something’s coming, ‘Get it in your stream,” Wilson continued. Comicstorian Tragically Passes Away In A Car Accident

Just a few days ago, Comicstorian tragically passed away. Overall, Ben Potter was a YouTuber beloved by many thanks to his deep knowledge and love of comic books. The YouTube star had millions of subscribers, and you can imagine just how saddened they were by the news of his passing. According to TMZ, Colorado State Patrol has confirmed that Potter died in a single-car crash. Meanwhile, in a message posted to Potter’s Twitter account, the YouTuber’s wife spoke about just how much he meant to his family and his community.

“To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums,” his wife began. “To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. [Comicstorian] was our rock and he’d reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.”

To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.” Our heart goes out to his loved ones during this extremely difficult time.

In the process he’s amounted quite an impressive collection of various unique items and memorabilia. Now he’s giving others a chance to look into his collection and even potentially bid on some of the items. That’s coming through his recently announced “Push It To The Limit: Luxury & Lifestyle” charity auction. It’s taking place simultaneous in LA and online later this month.

Ross also shared a statement explaining how he arrived at the decision to have an auction for some of his possessions. “I looked around one day and marveled at how blessed I am. I wanted to figure out how to be a blessing to others and share some of the dopest, rarest luxuries with the world that I’ve collected over the course of my career. Inspired by my brother Pharrell, I thought of an auction with the proceeds to help the next generation of bosses. It was the most player and sustainable way to not only touch my fans but also pour into a community that has poured into me,” his statement reads. The auction is being run by Julien’s Auctions. Diss tracks are particularly good for that medium as the fan interest is high and the ability to go through the song one lyric at a time breaking it down works perfectly.

It was initially reported that YouTubers would be able to keep the money they made from the reaction videos. Multiple YouTubers shared that they would be able to keep the revenue from their reaction videos while the beef was still going on. But now, conflicting reports are coming out about the videos copyright eligibility. In a post shared by djakademikstv a twitter user asks rapper and YouTuber Scru Face Jean if the Kendrick diss track videos are being copyright claimed. However, over the course of his career, he is become of the most influential figures of the modern era. Greedo will probably never get the same love as the Georgia native. But he is definitely a pioneer of the rapping/singing delivery in our eyes. Helping the veteran is his consistency, as he always has some project or single ready to go.

Just several hours ago, 03 Greedo released another loosie to Soundcloud and YouTube called “Fine China”, continuing his hot streak. His versatile style has lent his talents to some fire collaborations this year. He most recently and surprisingly appeared on Mach-Hommy’s latest record #RICHAXXHAITIAN on the title song and it is a summer bop. Additionally, he got into his more aggressive bag on Maxo Kream’s single “R.I.C.O”.

Nas Calls Ghostface Killah His Favorite Rapper While Performing Alongside Him

Over the weekend, numerous major hip-hop events took place. While Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam seemed plagued with controversies, The Root Picnic appears to have mostly gone off without a hitch. Saturday night Nas served as the festival headliner and he didn’t disappoint with his set. As you’d expect, he had a few guests out during the show and one of the is particularly noteworthy to the “NY State Of Mind” rapper.

Nas was joined on stage by Wu-Tang Clan rapper and fellow New York legend Ghostface Killah. The pair performed “Verbal Intercourse” and Ghostface unpacked “Cherchez La Ghost,” “Ice Cream,” and “C.R.E.A.M.” During his performance, Nas hit him with some pretty high praise. “That’s my fucking favorite rapper right there,” he said to the crowd while embracing Ghostface.
