JID Proves Once Again Why He’s A Freestyle Legend With “31”

It seems like everyone is waiting on JID to drop either Forever & A Day (his next studio album) or his unnamed collab tape with Metro Boomin. It’s for good reason though because the Atlanta native has developed into one of the hottest MCs in the game over the last couple of years. The Forever Story has played a big role in his ascension, and it might be the best of the 2020’s decade when it’s all said and done. For now, it’s pretty much the best of 2022. But when it comes to the Dreamville signee, he’s going to take his time. Right now, JID seems content with dropping some spot features (excellent ones at that) and loosies like “31 (FREESTYLE)”.

Believe it or not, this is his second numbered freestyle of the year, as he opened up 2024 with “30 (Freestyle)”. On that joint, he skated over some funky instrumentation from Conductor Williams and Christo. Prior to this one, JID dropped “29 (Freestyle)” in 2022 with the latter and it seems that’s the first one in this series. Since it’s an off-the-dome cut, there really isn’t a consistent theme with it. However, what is consistent is how damn good JID is with this sort of format. The slipperiness he possesses when e spits is pretty much second to none, as he hits with clever bar after clever bar. The track is out on YouTube now and it’s produced by another close collaborator, Hollywood Cole.

DaBaby Appears To Respond To DaniLeigh’s Brother’s Lawsuit On New Diss Track

DaBaby is making his feelings known on wax. A few days ago, an update surrounding the ongoing feud between the rapper and his ex-girlfriend DaniLeigh’s brother came through. His name is Brandon Bills, and he is seeking $4 million following an alleged physical attack from the hitmaker at a bowling alley. According to In Touch Weekly, Bills says he’s been dealing with “severe injuries, psychological damage, and medical bills”. Apparently, he’s been trying to get permission to send out this lawsuit toward DaBaby since July 2023 and he’s just now allowed to do so.

Overall, Bills says he was assaulted for no reason, so there really isn’t a whole lot to go off of. Perhaps, more details will arise when this goes to court. DaBaby seems to not be worried, though, especially based on certain bars off a new track he just dropped. “LAWSUIT ON A WEDNESDAY” is the title and its one of his YouTube exclusive releases. He doesn’t waste time at getting right into things, addressing it on the chorus.

However, DaBaby doesn’t let up from there, as he taunts Bills in his verses, too. “Bark like a big dog, but he really a puppy / Your Honor, I’m scared of this man, look at him“. Doechii Adds New Entries To Her Swamp Sessions Series With “NISSAN ALTIMA” & “FLORIDA WATA”

Doechii continues to be one of TDE’s most exciting stories. The Tampa, Florida multi-hyphenate has been on one heck of run this year, dropping single after single. However, she isn’t just releasing music to get it out there, she’s putting out quality and hits to boot. Overall, her biggest success of the year so far is “Alter Ego” with JT. The dance/hip-hop fusion is one of the catchiest songs through these first eight months. Moreover, this single proves a couple of things to us. She’s extremely creative/versatile and it displays her ability to pen all sorts of tones and moods. These skills continue to be sharpened on Doechii’s most recent offerings which are “NISSAN ALTIMA” and “FLORIDA WATA”.

Both of these tracks are byproducts of the 25-year-old’s “Swamp Sessions”. It’s a series on her YouTube channel that includes shorter recordings which could potentially be fleshed out more. Usually, these kinds of tracks tend to sound extremely unfinished. However, Doechii is putting so much effort into these 1–2-minute offerings. Both “NISSAN ALTIMA” and “FLORIDA WATA” are produced very well and have a concrete topical to them. The former, now on streaming, sees Doechii rap with tons of conviction about her place in the game. Then, on the latter, she gets real about being sober for 90 days and encourages listeners to be themselves and live the life you want to lead. She’s really out here dropping gems, and we hope it continues.

BabyTron Launches His Presidential Campaign & Wants You To Vote “#TRON4PREZ”

BabyTron has been putting on for the underground scene over the last couple of years now. However, over the last 12 months, he is flirting with more mainstream success as of late. For example, in late January, him and G Herbo linked up to provide their talents on “Equilibrium”. That track landed on the debut Lyrical Lemonade record All Is Yellow. Now, in the next few days, he will be landing on “Tobey”, Eminem’s second single for his upcoming album The Death of Slim Shady. Big Sean is also in the mix and it could be a great moment for the Michigan rap scene, as three different generations are colliding. So, it makes perfect sense for BabyTron to come by with a new song of his own, such as “#TRON4PREZ”.

As of late, the charismatic MC has been dropping a lot of his new material on YouTube. “#TRON4PREZ” is no different and it is quite the hilarious presidential campaign. What also makes this track tick is the creative beat. It samples the stock audio that you would hear at the start of a breaking news segment on TV. It kicks the record off and seamlessly transitions and plays throughout the instrumental. This is just one other reason why there are not many like BabyTron right now. ManMan Savage & KEY! Aren’t Showing “Favoritism” To Anyone On New Single

ManMan Savage is a veteran from the rich city of Atlanta that a lot of people may not know about. If you are one of those people, you should definitely give him a shot. He has been around for about nine years, dropping his first song, “Takin Shots”, on July 31, 2015. It would not be until 2018 when he would nab his first hit song, though. “She A Freak”, featuring Ohgeesy and 03 Greedo, actually remains at the top of his most popular songs, with over 11.6 million streams. Throughout his career, ManMan has dropped some fun, lowkey, and intoxicating trap bangers that feature some slightly left-field production. One of those tracks that follows that similar formula is “Favoritism”, which is ManMan Savage’s most recent release.

Over this futuristic, video game-like beat, him and KEY! are not playing favorites. Across the 1:43 second runtime, both are rapping with a lot of energy about not giving any woman or competitor special treatment. At one point during “Favoritism,” ManMan Savage and KEY! trade bars, which helps break up the song nicely. This is the Chicago-born native’s second single of 2024 so far. It follows up “FR FR”, which got a wider release than “Favoritism”, and dropped back in May. Furthermore, this comes after a massive 2023. During that year, ManMan Savage was on tear, dropping album after album. In fact, the dude put out five projects, one of which was a collaborative effort with MexikoDro. DDG Surprise Drops “Top” Featuring Blueface & Swae Lee To YouTube

DDG has been a massive presence on YouTube for quite some time. The video creator is still dropping non-music related material on the platform over on his vlog channel. However, ever since his music career started bubbling in the late 2010’s, early 2020’s, the Pontiac, Michigan native has certainly prioritized that craft. He has a lot of massive tracks and ones that are platinum and gold certified, such as “Moonwalking in Calabasas” and “I’m Geekin”. In addition, he has several projects under his belt, including the It’s Me series, which kicked off in 2022. Due to his rapid growth, DDG has been able to gain a great deal of co-signs. From Gunna to NLE Choppa, BIA, Luh Tyler, Polo G, and Kevin Gates, he is not a YouTuber-rapper anymore. Once again, DDG is back for a new release in 2024 with this one being called “Top” with Blueface and Swae Lee.

This is his third solo and fourth overall offering so far. The first was a feature on the Blueface project Free Blueface. Then, in late February, he dropped “Going To The Top”, which would be followed by “Shoot Up Your Block”. On the latter, produced by Cash Cobain, DDG made a lot of references to the birth of his son with Halle Bailey in a cute and hilarious way. Furthermore, the 26-year-old multi-hyphenate also dropped off “Straight Outta Pontiac” to YouTube. So, this makes “Top” the second to have a limited release. Redveil Shines Once Again On “WHEW LAWD (Freestyle)”

You are not going to find many other dual threats like redveil in today’s game. Still just 20 years old, the Maryland rapper and producer still has so much untapped potential. However, when you listen to him, it might not sound like it. He really got a lot of people’s attention back in 2022 with his sophomore record, learn 2 swim. It was a terrific blend of jazz, soul and hip-hop and featured the songs like “diving board” and “pg baby”, among other fine deep cuts.

He also dropped a shorter project last year called playing w/ fire, but we think we can speak for most fans when we say we want to hear a new album. While we impatiently wait for that, redveil has been holding folks over with some dope freestyles. One of them that we enjoyed quite a bit was “DRAMA”, which released later last year to YouTube and Soundcloud. But the man returned just last night with “WHEW LAWD”, which showcases his spectacular producing and rapping chops again.

“WHEW LAWD” sees him incorporate a soul sample beautifully into the energetic and stank face-inducing beat. To give himself a pat on the back for this fire freestyle, he likens himself to Kanye West in a hilarious but apt way. You can tell that he is inspired by the Georgia legend, as early Ye was always chopping up the soul samples. However, redveil also loves him some Denzel Curry, as the inflection in his voice sounds nearly identical on this cut. It is a small nitpick as to why he is still has some ways to go as an artist, but we would be foolish to not give the track its flowers.

Kanye West Fans Left Stunned After Multiple Tracks Release To His YouTube Account Inexplicably

Kanye West is always dealing with some sort of issue, regardless of if it was caused by him or someone else. Currently, his accuser and former Yeezy employee, Lauren Pisciotta, is looking to sue the controversial mogul for sexual assault/harassment. Currently, no one really knows who is at fault here, as Ye has recently announced that he is suing Lauren back. He and his legal claim she was trying to persuade him to commit sexual acts, while also blackmailing him for millions. So much is still to come of that situation, so be sure to stay locked in with us. Right now, though, Kanye West has to deal with a potential hacker unloading multiple songs on his YouTube.

This all went down just moments ago, as it appears that 13 total tracks were leaked on to the official page of Mr. West. The capsule includes what could be unfinished demos and older sounding tracks. Additionally, they could be Donda leftovers, due to the all-black cover art on each song. Each one was released separately and not as a project. Or, since we are in the middle of the VULTURES era, these could be throwaways, too.

Fans are just as floored as we are, as there was no warning of Kanye West dropping anything. FERG Continues His Solo Run Of Singles With “More Than U Know Freestyle”

A$AP Ferg had the whole internet talking about his sudden return. About three weeks ago, the Harlem, New York rapper put out a YouTube-only single called “MDMX”, but his full stage name was not attached to it. Instead, it was chopped down to just FERG. This then led to an onslaught of theories and speculations that he was not a core member of the A$AP Mob. There have been a lot of reports online that he indeed was not a part of it and that he still remains with them. However, the real truth is that FERG is his solo stage name when he is not releasing anything affiliated with Rocky and the crew.

FERG announced it through Roc Nation back in 2021, saying, “Ferg is very much still part of the Mob, and is A$AP Ferg within A$AP Mob. Ferg as an individual artist and with his solo career is Ferg”. So, with all of that cleared up let us jump into this new single, “More Than U Know Freestyle”. This is the third YouTube exclusive track and a follow-up to “Roemello” just five days ago.

KayCyy, Toro Y Moi, & Weiland Are Emotionally Spent On “Hidden Faces”

KayCyy is one of the most exciting names in hip-hop and R&B right now in our opinion. He has so much potential to be one of the best hybrid stars once he eventually drops his rumored projects. According to Genius, the Kenya native has two offerings stashed away at the moment. There are a lot of rumors that he will have both out by this year, after previously teasing 2023 drop dates. It seems we inching closer and closer to the promised land after KayCyy recently put out “Hidden Faces.”

This single is currently only available on YouTube and follows up other tracks such as “My Jeans,” “MOTOWN” with BabyTron. For “Hidden Faces,” KayCyy taps Toro y Moi and Weiland for a somber ballad about falling out of love and feeling emotionally and physically alone. Each singer’s vocals are backed by piano keys and minimal angelic production overall. You can tell by the way KayCyy, Toro, and Weiland are delivering their lyrics that they are in true pain.

As we mentioned earlier, the “THANK GOD” contributor has two projects in the works, and Never Been So Sure looks to be his debut album.
