DJ Envy x Young Dolph’s Dolphland Museum Partner For Grand Finale Tour And Car Show

Following the successfully sold-out run of the Dolphland Pop-Up Museum Tour at stops across the country, Paper Route Empire and Street Execs Management is concluding the exhibition this month with a month-long celebration of Young Dolph and his posthumous album Paper Route Frank in the rap legend’s hometown of Memphis, TN.

Dolphland will take place every weekend, Friday – Sunday in May (May 12th – 28th) at the Agricenter International in Memphis, TN. 

On Sunday, May 28th the grand finale of Dolphland will take place with an expansion of the exhibition to include the “Love For The Streets Celebrity Car Show” featuring Young Dolph’s entire fleet of exotic luxury cars curated in partnership with celebrity DJ, car enthusiast and host of nationally syndicated radio & TV show The Breakfast Club’s DJ ENVY and his “Drive Your Dreams” car show series. In addition to Young Dolph’s impressive fleet, the car show will also feature stunning custom and luxury cars from the collections of DJ Envy, 50 Cent, Key Glock and many other celebrities. 

About partnering the Dolphland Pop-Up Museum with the Love For The Streets Car Show DJ Envy stated, “I think it’s dope for the Memphis community that my car show and Dolphland Museum partnered up to honor Young Dolph. JT Turns Up With Her Driver: Watch

JT is quick to bring the energy when it comes to turning up. Not only that, anybody can get it when it comes to JT clapping back at fans. If it’s one that JT does not play about, it’s her relationship with Hip-Hop rock star Lil Uzi Vert. Recently, since Uzi has been branching it with his new alter ego “Leslie,” JT has had to check a couple of social media users. The pair are a modern Bonnie and Clyde (minus the dying part). They’re each other’s ride or die to the fullest. Whether they’re spoiling each other with lavish luxuries or defending each other from menacing keyboard warriors, they got each other’s back.

“Uzi got her dressed like the ‘Bride of Chucky’” one commenter tweeted. While garnering a mere 1.2k likes for the diss, it landed on JT’s radar. However, she had time that day. “It’s really not funny as it was years ago!” She replied to the keyboard assassin. JT continued her rant, “B***h I had on my outfit for my show get off his d**k obsessed asf!!” Moreover, that wasn’t the end of the City Girls’ rhymer social media terror. A couple of days later, JT came for some more haters talking trash. She clapped back at the internet troll for making comments that their baby looks like Finesse2Tymes.

In other news, JT recently posted a video of her turning up to Young Dolph (R.I.P) with none other than her driver yesterday morning. The footage has gone viral. Reportedly, the video shows JT in the backseat of an assumed rideshare vehicle. However, this isn’t your everyday driver. The car is draped in lights akin to club lighting. The driver, an older gentleman, is spittin’ bars from Young Dolphs breakout single, “Preach.”

“I can’t stop/Won’t stop, can’t stop/Never hear me complainin’ ’bout what I ain’t got,” rapped the driver, with JT hyping him up in the back. She captioned the vid with “Yeah ern” with multiple laughing emojis. Although, it’s unclear whether or not her driver received five stars from the rapper.

Young Dolph Murder Suspect Gets New Lawyer Mid-Trial

The man accused of putting out a hit out on Young Dolph is reportedly getting a new lawyer in the middle of his trial. Moreover, AllHipHop reports that Hernandez Govan showed up to court without his lawyer William Massey and therefore without representation, according to WREG. Furthermore, Masey represented Govan for almost half a year before this incident seemed to throw a wrench into things. Lee Coffee, the presiding judge, stated that his absence suggested “that some sort of conflict had arisen.  I don’t know the nature of it.” Still, it seems like the court found a quick, albeit imperfect solution.

After this occurred in the trial of Young Dolph’s murder, the court appointed attorney Manny Arora to represent Govan. However, he was not in the courtroom given that he is licensed to work in Tennessee, not where the case is located. To sidestep this, local lawyer Handel Durham Jr. will take over in-person counsel. Meanwhile, prosecutors said the new team will have to “get up to speed” to not delay or obstruct the case any further. Also, prosecutor Paul Hagerman added that “he may already be up to speed and he has all of the discovery.”

To elaborate, Govan allegedly hired Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith to target Young Dolph, and now faces conspiracy charges for first-degree murder. Unfortunately, law enforcement either doesn’t know or hasn’t revealed the motivation for the tragic attack. Aside from the trial, the hip-hop world and the community at large continue to honor the Memphis MC and preserve his legacy. For example, a pop-up museum commemorating his memory recently hit various U.S. cities.

Also, Key Glock recently reflected on signing with the “100 Shots” rapper in an Esquire interview. “It really just happened out of the blue,” he remarked “It wasn’t even a plan. I got into some trouble. I got incarcerated. And then close to the time for me to come home, my auntie was married to Young Dolph’s uncle. She told him, ‘You know, Key doing his thing… He just reached out to me and it went from there. They always let me do me, let me be me. No matter what it was. Music or just everything in life. From my first song, I just had so much confidence in myself. Young Dolph’s ‘Love For The Streets’ Is Evident In His Posthumous Video Showcasing His Hometown Pride

For over a year now, the family and fans of the late rapper Young Dolph have grieved his tragic death. To build upon his musical legacy, the recording artist’s estate has continued to produce projects under his Paper Route Empire label, the latest being Key Glock’s Glockoma 2. But that hasn’t stopped his supporters from spinning the label’s tribute project to him, Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, or his posthumous album, Paper Route Frank.

The most popular track off the album, “Love For The Streets,” produced by Dun Deal, has become yet another sobering reminder of his absence. To honor his memory, his estate blended archival footage of Dolph in his zone (in the recording studio, on stage, and riding around in one of his tricked-out foreign cars Memphis) while beaming with hometown pride. Throughout the video, several notable rappers make an appearance, including fellow Memphis native Juicy J.

The video blends together past clips with current clips of the community returning the love as murals, street sign dedications, and more flash across the screen.

Fans of the late rapper flooded the comment section with tribute posts. One user wrote, “Rest Easy, Dolph. Ima always support cause I know your kids own them masters to all yo music, so we gotta run it up for them, and you we watching every video back to back to back every time yo songs come on, we thumbs it up and never skip. Rest easy big bro.”

Another user wrote, “Legendary sh*t y’all don’t know how much this means to his fans,” and thanked the team for pulling together the footage for the video.

Glockoma 2 is Key Glock’s first full-length album since the passing of Young Dolph. As such, it would seem that there’d be a lot of fanfare around its release, some pomp and circumstance worthy of Dolph’s standing in the Memphis rap scene and Glock’s proximity to him as his protege and frequent collaborator.

But that’d run counter to both rappers’ modus operandi, the way they eschewed big-name guests and moved in modes consistent with the gritty street narratives they unraveled in their music. Key Glock is not a flashy guy, although he does sport the usual array of chunky, diamond-encrusted necklaces common to his profession.

Instead, what we get on Glockoma 2 is a microcosm of the Paper Route Empire ethos of consistency and authenticity, with little window dressing or build-up. The album was released quietly over the weekend after only a pair of straightforward singles (“Dirt” and “Work” both of which are frontloaded here) and a tour announcement. The music included is similarly unfussy, with no featured artists and a familiar lineup of producers including BandPlay, Hitkidd, and Sledgren.

What makes it stand out among a slew of similarly-themed projects is Glock’s intense focus on improvement. He’s always been cleverer rhyme-smith than he’s perhaps been given credit for, but here, he elevates his craft impressively, stunning with subtly witty one-liners and plainspoken but deft boasts (“I just pulled up with my chopper like the Undertaker,” he barks on “2 For 1”).

Of course, the spirit of Dolph hovers over the proceedings. While Glock dodges obvious references to the tragedy that knocked his world off its axis, his mentor’s influence is clear in both his improved delivery and in overt lyrical references. On “Ratchet,” he nods to the Dolph-shaped void, “I took a couple losses, that shit there made me a winner / Boss shit, baby, yeah, I do this for Flippa.”

There isn’t much variation on these themes in Glock’s lyrics, but he keeps the content sounding fresh with a versatile selection of beats. They demand enough course correction to keep him in a variety of pockets, which helps distinguish each song and prevent his voice – the only one on the album thanks to his “F**k A Feature” mentality – from becoming monotonous. From the sauntering horns on “Randy Orton” to the Gothic trap bounce of “Money Over Hoes,” there’s enough variation in sounds to prove Glock’s adaptability.

If there’s anything missing here, it’s a more in-depth excavation of the principal’s emotional state of mind. He took a full year off after consistently releasing at least an album a year since 2016 as a result of the emotional hit he took with Dolph’s death. While maintaining his unfazed persona is likely good business – it’s what’s worked for him so far – it’d be nice to see him drop kayfabe at least here to address a traumatic experience without framing it as a temporary setback.

He similarly put off this reckoning on his late 2022 EP PRE5L, which seemed less pressing because of that project’s positioning as a warm-up of sorts for his grander return. Now that he’s made that return, it’s comforting to see him getting back on track, but a little disheartening to know that he still feels like he can’t address how he’s really been feeling. Perhaps on his next project, he’ll be more comfortable emoting a little.

However, for now, a return to form is enough – or, at least, it’ll have to be. Glock is back to big stepping, and for the first time, doing so without the support of his respected mentor. It’s nice to see him finding his footing. Dolph’s shoes likely can’t and won’t be filled – maybe they shouldn’t be. But Key Glock is walking his own path now, as assuredly as he’s able… and perhaps it’ll lead him to even greater success down the road.

Key Glock Delivers On “Glockoma 2”

It’s officially Glock season. In the past year and some change, Key Glock ascended as the de facto frontman of the Paper Route Empire roster. Following Young Dolph’s death, the rapper took a step back from the limelight, though he didn’t hold out on releasing new music. The rapper dished out the deluxe edition of Yellow Tape 2, which practically served as a project in its own right. It served as his first release since Dolph’s passing, and it became clear that he made it his mission to keep his cousin’s name alive.

Since then, Glock hasn’t slowed down his pace by any means. Between the influx of guest verses and the release of PRE5L in 2022, he kept his grip on the rap game as fans anticipated his next body of work. In recent weeks, he began plotting out the sequel to 2018’s Glockoma. He placed billboards up during Super Bowl weekend. Then, fans noticed that Glockoma 2 had online advertisements plastered across WebMD. It was a subtle yet effective marketing campaign that helped build anticipation for his next project, Glockoma 2.

The wait is officially over. Key Glock came through this morning with the release of his highly-anticipated new album, Glockoma 2. His latest project boasts 15 songs in total — including singles like “Work” — with not a single feature attached to the tracklist. Glock shines all on his own, flexing his lyrical tenacity and showcasing his dominant presence in the rap game from the moment you press play on “Dirt.” For fans waiting on a full-length from Glizzock, Glockoma 2 surely won’t disappoint.

The rapper comes through with an array of producers to flesh out the project. Of course, Paper Route Empire’s Bandplay boasts several credits on the project. However, the essence of Memphis is also captured by HitKidd, who contributes to two songs on the project.
