If you know anything about 6ix9ine, it’s probably that he is hated by pretty well everyone in the hip-hop world. Overall, it is very easy to see why this would be the case. After all, he snitched on a whole bunch of people and landed them in jail for years. Moreover, upon leaving prison, he went on a nasty tirade in which he dissed people like King Von and Nipsey Hussle, after they had already passed away. Once these tactics stopped provoking people, he went away for a while and wasn’t heard from.

However, that all changed after he was jumped inside of an LA Fitness. It was an unfortunate incident for 6ix9ine, which ended up going mega-viral. Although, he seems to be making the best of it. In the last few weeks, he has dropped two new songs, including “WAPAE,” which seems to be doing huge numbers on YouTube and beyond. People love the Latin direction 6ix9ine has been going in, and soon, he will be dropping more new music. He has posted a plethora of snippets online, including the one below.

As you can hear up above, this track actually flexes the fact that 6ix9ine is a pretty decent singer. Whether or not there are a ton of vocal effects here, is up the engineer to divulge. Either way, it sounds like another Latin club smash that could very well become an arena song. Additionally, he will be working with Lenier again, who has a history with the rainbow-haired rapper. Furthermore, the rapper continues to tease the new contest for his music video. He is looking for a country to film in, and he is also looking for a video girl.

Overall, people were reluctant to support him, and that reluctancy carried over for a couple of years.

Subsequently, 6ix9ine was jumped at an LA Fitness in Florida. Following this incident, the rainbow-haired rapper decided to return to music with a couple of new singles. Interestingly enough, he has ditched the shouting raps with hard beats. Now, he is making Latin-infused music that sounds like it was made with the World Cup in mind. In fact, his latest song “WAPAE” continues to go viral, and has even inspired the “LA Fitness Challenge.” Music listeners outside of rap are co-signing the artist’s efforts, and it is inspiring him to stay within this lane.

With 6ix9ine experiencing all of this success, he is now looking to keep the momentum going. This may be easier said than done, although the artist knows how to play social media. 6ix9ine is making a strong and surprising return to music shortly after his viral gym beatdown. Moreover, he recently released a couple of music videos filmed in various locations, traveling down to Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Uganda. His video for his latest single “WAPAE” featured a lot of people in Ugandan communities in particular, and he recently shared some behind-the-scenes footage of such on Instagram. In the clips, he films a crowd of kids dancing, greets everyone, and intermittently chronicles his process. It might not be the most exciting thing in the world, but it’s always interesting to see the video edits and extra details behind a new song or visual clip.

The New Yorker went on an impressive venture around the world to film the upbeat song’s accompanying video, which 6ix9ine says he mostly shot on his iPhone.

Even with the recent trials and tribulations of being brutally attacked, it’s obvious that 6ix9ine has been overflowing with creativity. In the “WAPAE” music video we see him smiling from ear to ear while dancing with exuberant groups of local children, also getting up close and personal in the shower with a beautiful woman. “Oh, my baby, what a rich thing / That mulatto, with that little waist / She has everything, she is very pretty / Her type is me, nobody takes her away from me,” his first verse, when translated to English, goes.

Aside from this weekend’s release, the only other song we’ve heard from 26-year-old so far in 2023 is “Bori.” That arrived on the final Friday of March and also sees him working with Lenier.
