DJ Akademiks Explains Why Erykah Badu Upset Him So Much

DJ Akademiks is someone who has gotten into petty feuds with a whole lot of people over the years. Overall, it is easy to see why this would be the case. He is a content creator who speaks freely on a plethora of topics. When you are opinionated, people will take issue with that. Furthermore, when you take the clapbacks personally, well, that is how beef starts. We have seen Ak go toe-to-toe with countless people over the years. He has even had some smoke for the world’s biggest legends.

For instance, Akademiks recently found himself at odds with the likes of Erykah Badu. During an iconic appearance on Everyday Struggle, Badu likened Akademiks to Jerry the mouse from Tom & Jerry. This subsequently led to numerous memes and some hilarious edits. Years later, Akademiks fired back on Badu in a pretty brutal way. He did so on one of his late-night streams and it led to a few headlines. Recently, Akademiks spoke about the feud with VladTV and offered insight into the origins of the beef.

DJ Akademiks Talks To Vlad

Essentially, Akademiks felt like Badu was consistently disrespecting him by subtly mentioning him on social media. Overall, there were a few instances in which she did this. One day, Akademiks had enough of it and popped off. However, as he tells Vlad, the beef is squashed and he has moved on. Furthermore, he is happy about the viral Everyday Struggle clip because he got paid for it. He is also happy that Badu was able to get some money for her incense that featured Jerry on the front.

Lastly, Akademiks admitted that he is a very “memeable” person and that he just needs to come to terms with it. Let us know what you think of this feud, in the comments section below. Soulja Boy’s Resurfaced Statement From 2008 Home Invasion Refutes His Side Of The Story

Soulja Boy’s written statement from the infamous 2008 home invasion that occurred while he was in the house has resurfaced online. His words refute a now-famous retelling of the incident he gave while speaking with VladTV almost a decade later, in which he claimed to grab a gun and fight back. In reality, Soulja confirmed at the time that he “cut all the lights off and hid with my eyes closed.” NoJumper shared the statement on Instagram, Monday.

While many users trolled Soulja for lying about his brazenness during the incident, others came to his defense. “He said what he was supposed to,” one wrote. I hop out, I start shooting, shot the n***a,” Souja Boy recalled. “Shot his a**. All the n***as run out the door. This n***a on the floor. Walk up to this n***a, take his mask off his head. Looked at it, saw who it was. I’m like, ‘Damn.’ Shot his a** again. He [was] screaming and s***. I shut the door.” Check out Soulja Boy’s original statement for the police below.

DJ Envy Recalls R. Kelly Flying Him Out For Help On An R&B Mixtape

DJ Envy says R. Kelly once flew him out to help work on an R&B mixtape during his early days as a DJ. The Breakfast Club host recalled working with the disgraced musician during a recent sit-down with VladTV. Speaking with the outlet, he revealed that he was only 19 or 20 years old at the time.

“This was the mixtape days,” he began. “So this was when I was like 19, 20. And this is when I was on mixtapes. They reached out to me and R. Kelly wanted to do an R&B mixtape. Flew me out to Chicago. And that was it. That was it. I remember he flew me out on like, a Friday. It sounds crazy saying, ‘flew me out.’ I got flown out on a Friday, I get there, get in the hotel, nice hotel, five-star, everything first class — Friday, nothing. They didn’t return my call. No studio. So, I said alright. And it was supposed to be a weekend thing, so Friday, Saturday, Sunday.”

DJ Envy Reflects On Getting Flown Out By R. Kelly

The interview comes after Envy recently made headlines for feuding with Tyrese on The Breakfast Club. He and his wife, Gia, accused the singer of being “inappropriate.” Tyrese claimed to not know what Envy was referring to, which prompted him to admit he should “box” Tyrese’s mouth. Despite the argument, Envy says he still respects Tyrese for helping him and his wife work on their marriage.

Boosie Badazz Puts His Spin On Sexyy Red’s “Pound Town”

During a recent interview with VladTV, Boosie Badazz put his spin on one of Sexyy Red’s most viral tracks to date, “Pound Town.” The rapper performed his “ratchet remix,” of the explicit song before sharing his take on Sexyy Red’s career. DJ Vlad explains how Sexyy Red’s unconventional style of music has managed to earn her the respect of various high-profile peers.

Boosie agrees that Sexyy’s come up has been exciting to see, noting how different today’s music scene is from the 90s. “It’s a different era,” he says. He weighed in on some other current popular female rappers, like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. He notes how their rap skills combined with shock value have been the key to their success. Vlad then calls out Ice Spice, claiming that she’s less skilled than other mainstream female rappers. The Bronx-born performer has been praised for her looks amid her success, but unfortunately, this has led many to question her talent.

Boosie’s “Ratchet Remix”

“I don’t think it’s about skills anymore,” Boosie says, claiming that men will back a female artist for her image alone. “Most of the time the time, the women got to be sexualized,” he also adds. “That’s what most women got to be right now to make it. You’ve got to be sexualized, you’ve got to look the look.”

In other Boosie news, the Louisiana native has been beefing with Yung Bleu as of late. He went live again yesterday to diss him. He’s accused the rapper of signing a deal with Empire without his knowledge, leading him to lose money. He called Yung Bleu a “snake,” also telling him that his karma is coming. “Everybody you f*ck with you just cut they throat?” he asked. “Like, man. You ain’t gonna have no good love, dog.” He went on to claim that his brother will end up taking a majority of the earnings from Yung Bleu’s music. Math Hoffa Calls Out Kodak Black For 6ix9ine Collaboration

Math Hoffa slammed Kodak Black for working with 6ix9ine during an interview with VladTV on Saturday. When asked about the duo’s “Shaka Laka” track, Hoffa accused Kodak of selling out.

“Integrity for sale,” he remarked during the interview. “You put this image out there, and your art is a representation of you. I kinda agree with Boosie on this. You sold your ass for a million dollars.”

He continued: “Like, somebody could come to you with a price and probably have some fun with you in a dark room. You know what I mean? It’s fucked up. But if you stand for something, you stand on it. I don’t give a fuck what type of money is offered. You stand on it.” Check out the hip-hop commentator’s full take on Kodak Black and 6ix9ine below.

Math Hoffa Calls Out Kodak Black

Math Hoffa is far from the first person to take issue with Kodak Black working with 6ix9ine. Boosie Badazz took aim at the rapper on the final verse of his recent song, “Ungrateful.” On the track, he remarks that Kodak’s “street cred is gone” amongst further insults. Similarly, Maino also shared a disappointed, although unsurprised response to the song. “I’m just saying, I don’t think nobody cares,” Maino told Angela Yee on Way Up. “I mean, I’m not surprised at what no rapper does. When you’re talking about morals and principles that’s supposed to be based around a street code… I mean, listen, we’ve seen rappers do whatever they wanted to do, do things that they shouldn’t do. It don’t even matter to me at this point. Nobody cares. People gon’ do what they gon’ do, like, regardless. I ain’t even got no opinion about it, it’s whatever.”

Boosie Badazz On If Usher Tried To Steal His Girl: “Get Your A** Back!”

Earlier this summer, Usher got some attention for serenading taken women amid his My Way residency in Vegas. He famously did a duet with Keke Palmer, and her boyfriend took to social media to diss her for the way she was dressed. Many social media users speculated, however, that he was more hurt by the romantic performance. The situation was met with a flood of jokes and memes on social media, and it was believed that Palmer and the father of her child had split. This was eventually proven to be false, and Usher even did a music video with Palmer as a nod to the incident.

Amid the drama, Boosie Badazz weighed in, claiming that Usher was on a “take your girl tour.‘” He shared more of his thoughts on the situation during a recent interview with VladTV, and according to him, he wouldn’t let it slide. The rapper explained what he’d do if the artist tried to take his woman, claiming that the only solution to the problem is to not bring your partner to see Usher at all.

Boosie Claims He’d Kick Usher “In His D*ck”

“Usher’s the truth,” he began. “He looks 14. He’s gonna sing your b*tch’s drawls off.” Boosie then went on to reveal that he’d ditch his partner if she were seduced by Usher. “It couldn’t be me. I would’ve left that b*tch right there. And we gonna fight when we get to the room.”

He continued, “That n***a will grab your hand and pull you off your n***a’s lap… He couldn’t do it to me and I was drunk. I’d kick him in his d*ck – ‘Get your a** back! Gone head!’ You take your b*tch to see Usher, that is your fault.” The Louisiana-born performer also went on to claim that it’s crucial for women to have respect for their partners, as well as themselves. Boosie Badazz On YNW Melly’s Trial: “Death Is Unanimous”

During a recent interview with VladTV, Boosie Badazz shared his thoughts on YNW Melly’s ongoing double murder case. Boosie attended the first trial back in June, even claiming that it inspired him to possibly become a defense attorney. YNW Melly is currently awaiting his second trial, after the first was ruled a mistrial in July. If found guilty, it’s possible that the artist could be looking at the death penalty. He’s accused of shooting and killing two YNW associates, Juvy and SakChaser. Melly’s defense argues that their deaths were instead the result of a drive-by shooting.

In the interview, Boosie explains that he had met Melly at an airport once before, fondly remembering the experience. He recalls the young rapper buying him food and magazines, telling him “you ain’t spending nothing OG.” Boosie also says that he got the opportunity to meet the 24-year-old’s mother, describing her as “real,” and sharing that she reminded him of his own mother.

Boosie Badazz Says “Eight-Four Is F*cking Crazy”

The rapper says that Melly may have even been with Juvy and SakChaser, who he’s accused of killing, at the time they met. Boosie shared his thoughts on the trial, getting heated while discussing how the judge will allow an eight-to-four vote on the death penalty. “I was so pissed off about that,” the rapper explained. He adds that it was a new law that was passed just ahead of Melly’s trial, which he claims is the reason they waited so long.

“After that law passed, they took him straight to f*cking trial, bro. Eight-four is f*cking crazy, it’s unheard of — death is unanimous.” He expressed how he feels as though the vote is unfair, citing his own personal experiences. Boosie explains that at one point, he was facing the death penalty, but it was later switched to a life sentence so that he could more easily be convicted ten-to-two. He claims that in any other state, the death penalty would have to be a unanimous decision.

Ne-Yo Clarifies Comments About Trans Children

Earlier this week, Ne-Yo came under fire for comments he made about parents who allowed their children to transition as minors. “I have no issue with the [LGBTQIA+] community, I have no problem with nobody. Love who you love. Do what you do. I just personally come from an era where a man was a man, and a woman was a woman, and there wasn’t but two genders, and that’s just how it rocked. Now, you could identify as a goldfish if you feel like. I don’t care. That ain’t my business. It becomes my business when you try to make me to play the game with you. I’m not going to call you a goldfish. You want to be a goldfish? Go be a goldfish. We live in a weird time, man,” the rapper said on a VladTV podcast.

Ne-Yo’s point really boils down to “I don’t have an issue with trans people, but I don’t respect their decision and don’t abide by it.” What appeared to further rile up trans advocates was the use of the debunked and transphobic talking point about “children identifying as animals”. No verifiable study has shown an actual phenomenon of children identifying as animals as their gender. While it’s certainly not the worst anti-trans take out there, it’s still fairly ignorant. He conflates sex with gender, starting there are two genders when referring men and women. Furthermore, it’s unusual that man who goes by Ne-Yo despite being born Shaffer Chimere Smith, has an issue with people wanting to be identified a different way to how they were born. After the comments appeared on Hollywood Unlocked, Ne-Yo took to the comments section to add a clarification.

Ne-Yo Hits Back, Doubles Down

“1st and foremost, I CONDEMN NO ONE. Who am I to condemn anybody? Your life, your kids, your choice. I was asked a question and I answered it. My opinion is mine. I’m not asking anybody to agree with me nor am I telling you what you can and cannot do with your children. I stated my opinion on a matter and that’s that.
Why should I care if my opinion upsets you when you don’t care if yours upsets anyone? Opinions aren’t special. We all have one. People voice them regularly whether they’re asked or not. I was actually asked mine. Agreeing to disagree is not a declaration of war. Y’all do whatever the hell y’all want to. But my feelings on the matter are mine. Same way yours are yours. Meanwhile,
I love everybody. Don’t agree with some of y’all’s ideals….but love you no less,” Ne-Yo wrote in the comments.

Again, it’s the same idea as he previously stated. He has a right to his opinion and he disagrees with the idea of children transitioning at a young age. Of course, his opinion is based on incorrect assumptions about the trans community, which is why he was called out in the first place. It’s very telling that Ne-Yo plays the cis victim card, asking “Why should I care if my opinion upsets you when you don’t care if yours upsets anyone?” Firstly, being trans is not an opinion. Not liking trans people is an opinion. But being trans, or gender non-conforming is not an opinion. But regardless, Ne-Yo has expressed his opinion while pulling the classic “I love all people, despite being opposed to your existence and not loving you enough to show you basic respect.”

Kooda B Opens Up About 6ix9ine Testifying Against Him

In a recent interview with VladTV, Kooda B detailed the experience of 6ix9ine testifying against him. He revealed that the testimony was a major shock to him, explaining that it hurt both him and his family. The artist says that when he discovered that 6ix9ine was testifying against several other people, he thought “Damn, I thought those was brothers.

“Some people not street dudes,” he continued. “If you not a street dude you’ve got to stay in that lane,” he explained, “he jumped in that lane. You’re supposed to go all the way with it.” DJ Vlad then says that if everybody had remained silent, “it would have been a very different trial.” Kooda B agreed, saying “definitely.” When asked if he communicated with 6ix9ine after he got out of jail, Kooda B explained that he didn’t.

Hell no. I couldn’t,” he explained, revealing that he wasn’t allowed to communicate with him since he testified against him. DJ Vlad then asks the artist how upset he was during the testimony. Kooda B reveals that he was confused by the rapper’s decision. “Me?” he asked, “I didn’t do sh*t to you, I’m solid.” He continued, “No cap, anytime you call me I come through.” “I was surprised,” he says, “that sh*t definitely shocked me.” He goes on, “that sh*t hurt my moms, I had him around her. That sh*t hurt my family.”

Towards the end of the clip, DJ Vlad asks Kooda B what he would say to 6ix9ine if he were in the room with them. He tells the host, “I just want like 60 seconds with him,” adding, “nowhere to run nowhere to hide.” Kooda B isn’t the only one to want a go at 6ix9ine. Boosie Badazz Discusses Bond With Flau’jae Johnson

Flau’jae Johnson is one of the hottest names in women’s basketball. The LSU freshman played an important role in the team’s first-ever National Championship. However, Johnson is also a rapper. Performing under the stage name Flau’jae, Johnson previously appeared on The Rap Game and America’s Got Talent. However, she has since signed with Roc Nation and is prepping collabs with a number of artists. But she also shares a deep connection with Boosie Badazz.

Boosie is not having a great time as of late. The rapper was arrested on Wednesday following a court appearance. Subsequently, he was denied bond and reportedly faces several felony firearm charges. These charges allegedly stem from a May Instagram Live, in which Boosie was spotted in possession of a firearm. However, amid all the chaos, an interview has been released detailing the deep connection Booise shares with Johnson.

Boosie Explains Being There For Johnson After Father’s Murder

“I was cool with her dad,” Boosie explained, referring to rapper Camoflauge. “All through her life, I’ve been there. She calls me uncle. She been playing in my backyard since she was little.” Furthermore, the rapper couldn’t help but smile as Vlad asked him how it felt to see Johnson win a National Championship earlier this year. “It made me proud. It got me emotional, it made me proud. I saw it. I saw it coming. When she was about going to LSU…I’m just happy for her. I know her daddy looking down on her, happy for her.”

Camoflague, born Jason Johnson, was a close friend of Boosie’s. However, he was tragically killed in Savannah, Georgia at the age of 21 in 2003. Flau’jae was born a little under six months later. In her own interview on VladTV, she spoke about everything that Boosie had done to help her over the years. “He showed love, even helping me get on The Rap Game, tried to help me navigate as much as he could. He got a lotta kids so for him to even reach his hand out, to take the time to do that, that was a lotta love.”
