Timbaland Critics Think He’s Trying To Recreate Aaliyah With Anna Margo

Timbaland recently dropped off a new track alongside 21-year-old singer Anna Margo, “My Way.” Unfortunately, critics have a lot to say about it. Some think that his partnership with the LA-based artist is simply an attempt to “remake” Aaliyah, with many noting similarities in their sounds.

“Recreating a classic @aaliyah line,” one commenter writes. “No Timbo. Just no. Let babygirl rest in peace!!! You of all people [crying emojis].” Several other users weighed in, highlighting how much the song reminds them of Aaliyah.
“She has Aaliyah vibes lowkey,” one says. “There’s nothing low key about it… it’s blatant lol,” someone else responds.

Timbaland And Anna Margo’s New Song “My Way”

While there are a lot of users that are critical of the new partnership, plenty are in full support. “Too excited,” one Instagram user says. “She just reminds me soo much of our Angel Aaliyah!!!” Others note that Timbaland played a key role in creating Aaliyah’s signature sound, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that there are similarities. “Y’all keep saying ‘it’s giving Aaliyah vibes’ but Timbaland WAS the Aaliyah vibe, what you expect?” a fan argues.

Despite occasional negative feedback, Timbaland continues to be regarded as one of the most influential producers to date. Earlier this month, he even took home the Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award at the BET Awards alongside Swizz Beatz. “I always dreamed I’d be on stage accepting an award about hip-hop,” he said during his acceptance speech. “Doing music back in Virginia, I never thought I’d make it, but I’m here… Me and my brother created something special, and it ain’t over. Black-owned, Verzuz, me and Swizz Beatz. I’m glad to share this with my brother.” Do you think Timbaland’s trying to “remake” Aaliyah with Anna Margo? What do you think of their new song “My Way?” Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Timbaland.

Boosie Badazz On If Usher Tried To Steal His Girl: “Get Your A** Back!”

Earlier this summer, Usher got some attention for serenading taken women amid his My Way residency in Vegas. He famously did a duet with Keke Palmer, and her boyfriend took to social media to diss her for the way she was dressed. Many social media users speculated, however, that he was more hurt by the romantic performance. The situation was met with a flood of jokes and memes on social media, and it was believed that Palmer and the father of her child had split. This was eventually proven to be false, and Usher even did a music video with Palmer as a nod to the incident.

Amid the drama, Boosie Badazz weighed in, claiming that Usher was on a “take your girl tour.‘” He shared more of his thoughts on the situation during a recent interview with VladTV, and according to him, he wouldn’t let it slide. The rapper explained what he’d do if the artist tried to take his woman, claiming that the only solution to the problem is to not bring your partner to see Usher at all.

Boosie Claims He’d Kick Usher “In His D*ck”

“Usher’s the truth,” he began. “He looks 14. He’s gonna sing your b*tch’s drawls off.” Boosie then went on to reveal that he’d ditch his partner if she were seduced by Usher. “It couldn’t be me. I would’ve left that b*tch right there. And we gonna fight when we get to the room.”

He continued, “That n***a will grab your hand and pull you off your n***a’s lap… He couldn’t do it to me and I was drunk. I’d kick him in his d*ck – ‘Get your a** back! Gone head!’ You take your b*tch to see Usher, that is your fault.” The Louisiana-born performer also went on to claim that it’s crucial for women to have respect for their partners, as well as themselves. Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Boosie Badazz.

Usher Serenades Fan During Sensual Performance

One very lucky Usher concertgoer got the experience of a lifetime when the R&B singer entered the audience and began serenading her. A TikTok posted by the fan showed the encounter with text reading “When you go see Usher and this happens…” Trina, or @trina331 as she is known on TikTok, also thanked Usher in the caption of the post. The singer has been performing his greatest hits at his My Way Las Vegas residency, which opened in 2021. The fan interaction is just one of many memorable moments that have happened at the residency, including bringing Chris Brown on stage and paying tribute to Queen Latifah.

Usher has long been seen as a sex symbol in the world of R&B. His diamond-certified 2004 album Confessions had a stranglehold on pop culture for years. In fact, if you’re out partying, you are likely to hear his hit single “Yeah!”. The song spent 12 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it was only knocked out of the top spot by Usher’s next single, “Burn”. Last year, the iconic singer was referred to as the “King of R&B” by Bevy Smith on her show Bevelations. In response, Usher said he would carry the crown and that he was the last of his kind. It’s a bold claim, but he does have an impressive resume to back it up.

Up Close And Personal With Usher

Usher is an artist who has often given the gift of fan service, frequently bringing fans on stage in previous tours to dance with them. In fact, the TikTok video from his residency, which shows him slow dancing with a fan and feeding her chocolate-covered strawberries, is quite tame in comparison to some of his previous fan encounters. In videos from his 2010 OMG Tour, he can be seen grinding on fans during performances of the song “Trading Places”. Still, any fan would likely consider themselves blessed to have such a personal interaction with their favorite artist.

Although R&B has long since lost the once immeasurable popularity it held in the early aughts, Usher seems to have plans to revitalize the genre. How he plans to do that remains to be seen, but the days of sultry ballads and love songs may not be over quite yet. If the ticket sales for his Vegas residency are any indication, there is clearly still an audience for R&B. The advent of streaming also means that radio no longer determines what is popular. So, while R&B may never quite reach the heights it once did, there is certainly room for a resurgence.

Usher Announces 15 Additional Dates For Las Vegas Residency

Usher just announced 15 additional dates for his residency in Las Vegas, which will run from February to October this year. Moreover, the R&B star will perform a staggering 44 shows at the prestigious Park MGM, at Dolby Live. Furthermore, the My Way residency will give fans shows all throughout the year. Of course, Usher found incredible success in the past two years from his residency in Vegas, much like other artists such as Britney Spears and Mariah Carey. While he switched venues from Caesars Palace to the MGM, he’ll likely still grace fans with a fantastic spectacle.

“It’s that time again!” he wrote in the additional dates announcement via Twitter to his fans. “VEGAS, I’m back! By popular demand, I’ve added 15 NEW shows to my Vegas Residency through October 2023!“ Overall, Usher decided to capitalize on the momentum and make this even more of an event. If you’re interested in tickets, these latest shows will go on public sale on February 25th at 10am PT. Meanwhile, fan presale tickets for the new shows go live on the 22nd of February, also at 10am PT. Also, if you want that presale password, go ahead and text (404) 737-1821.

Usher’s New Residency Dates

Furthermore, Usher’s next show is this Friday, February 24th, followed by another on Saturday and three more the following week. In addition to these new shows, the 44-year-old also excited fans with the recent promise of new music. Moreover, he teased an upcoming single titled “GLU,” and its music video starring Lori Harvey. While he didn’t share a release date for his next musical outing, at least he has a whole nine months to work it out before his residency ends. In fact, maybe he can test it out with his adoring audience.

Meanwhile, the soulful superstar also jokingly responded to G Herbo’s claims that he’s a better singer. After sharing his rendition of Usher’s “Superstar,” the Chicago rapper gassed himself up. “That was decent, wasn’t it, though?” he stated. “That was decent. That boy good!” captioning the video with “@usher can’t f**k wit me on my worse day.” His response. A simple cap emoji. Whether you’re looking forward to his new shows or new music, return to HNHH for the latest on Usher.

Usher’s Las Vegas Residency Sold Out So Fast That He Has Added New Dates

Are we living in the golden age of Las Vegas residencies? It’s a lot more than just Celine Dion headlining evenings in Sin City these days. Adele’s Weekends With Adele residency has been wildly popular (she even disappears in a prime Vegas magic trick fashion), Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak set up camp in Vegas for a residency earlier this year, and if you ask Usher, he’ll most certainly tell you that it is, in fact, prime time for Vegas concerts. That’s because his Usher: My Way The Vegas Residency is selling out like hot cakes. But rest assured, he’s added a few more dates.

This past August, Usher announced that Usher: My Way The Vegas Residency would be returning for 2023 at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Those dates quickly soon sold out and today, Usher added three more residency dates for 2023. The three additional dates that Usher added are February 24, 25, and March 1. In a sly move, he promoted fans in a tweet to, “Text (404) 737-1821 and you will receive a text with the presale password.”

The groundswell of interest for the Vegas residency coincided with a 25th Anniversary Edition release of My Way this past September.

Check out the full list of shows for Usher’s Las Vegas residency here. A pre-sale for the new dates begins on Wednesday, December 21 at 10am PT. General on-sale is on Friday, December 23 at 10 a.m. PT at the above link as well.

Usher Set to Release ‘My Way 25th Anniversary Edition’ This Friday

unnamed 7

On September 16, 2022, LaFace Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment (SME), will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Usher’s iconic album, My Way. This celebration will include an expanded edition of the original album, freshly reimagined versions of three of the album’s tracks, a mini-documentary, and more.

The My Way 25th Anniversary Edition contains the original album, three newly reinvented songs, and instrumental versions of those songs, all created by master producer/drummer Ryan James Carr. The new tracks are “My Way” (Ryan James Carr Remake), “Nice & Slow” (Ryan James Carr Remake), and “You Make Me Wanna…” (Ryan James Carr Remake).

Usher and Carr worked together to reinvent the songs, and this inspired his Tiny Desk performance, which has amassed over 11 million views in just two months and inspired a meme that lives on in all media.

LaFace Records released Usher’s My Way on September 16, 1997, has earned triple platinum for the singles “You Make Me Wanna” and “Nice & Slow” and has been certified seven times platinum by the RIAA. The album cemented its place in musical history in 1997 by ranking eleventh on US Billboard’s Top 200 Albums of the Year chart.

Early in 2023, Vinyl Me Please will offer the 25th-anniversary deluxe version of My Way on 2LP 180g Silver Cloudy Vinyl. A lyric and photo booklet is included in the package, along with three reworked songs and new album art that respects the original cover from 1997.

Usher sat down with Sony Music Entertainment to talk about the history of his seductive and excellent sophomore album in honor of My Way’s 25th anniversary and the release of the revamped songs. Usher’s Grammy-nominated album My Way is the subject of the documentary Usher: 25 Years My Way, which explores the discography’s beginnings, the album’s wider cultural influence, and the creative processes that led to fresh interpretations of “You Make Me Wanna…”, “Nice & Slow,” and “My Way.”

Intimate interviews with Usher, Jermaine Dupri, and Ryan James Carr are included in the mini-documentary, along with a film of the “making of” the new renditions and never-before-seen archival footage of Usher from the time of the album.

On September 16, 2022, the Mini-Documentary will make its YouTube channel-exclusive debut. It was directed by the talented Dolapo Sangokoya, Senior Creative, Content, SME/Legacy, and executive produced by Ash Peters, Senior Producer, Content, SME/Legacy.

Logic Is Feeling Self-Assured On His Smooth New Single ‘My Way’

Logic’s “retirement” was less of a departure from music and more of a break between projects. He has remained active since his 2020 album No Pressure and has dropped a handful of new songs so far this year. The latest of them is “My Way,” which features a dream-pop-inspired instrumental and Logic rapping about being confident in his way of going about life: “I’ma do it my way / Oh yeah, I’ma do it my way / They lookin’ at me sideways / But I ain’t livin’ for the dead today.”

This is his second new song of the month, as he started July by dropping “Vaccine.” At the end of May, he also dropped a pair of new songs: MadGic’s “Mafia Music” and a solo cut, “Over You.”

Meanwhile, Logic revealed last week that he landed an acting role in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Mr. Corman, which was created, written, and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Gordon-Levitt also stars, alongside Arturo Castro, Juno Temple, Debra Winger, and others. The show is set to premiere on August 6.

The rapper also has a new memoir, This Bright Future, coming out this year. He says of the book, “This is the story of everything I’ve gone through and it’s been a beautiful and difficult journey to relive. There’s honestly so much that I’ve never been able to express in my music and the interviews that followed. I’m so happy and proud to finally give my fans and the rest of the world my entire story. The way I never could with my music!”
