Travis Scott Postpones North Carolina Concert Without Warning

Fans in Raleigh, North Carolina were left disappointed after Travis Scott abruptly postponed a concert with no prior warning. Fans were informed a few hours before the show was set to begin that the show had been postponed. “Tonight’s Travis Scott concert at PNC Arena has been postponed. Fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the TBD new date. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you!” read the email sent to ticket holders. The message was also posted on the doors of PNC Arena. However, no reason or explanation for the postponement has been provided.

The show was scheduled to be the third on Scott’s UTOPIA Circus Maximus Tour. He had kicked things off in Charlotte before heading to Raleigh for the back-to-back shows. The next scheduled stop on the tour is in Dallas on October 17. Overall, there are 39 stops on the tour, which ends in Toronto on December 29. However, fans have criticized the lack of transparency about the cancellation of the second Raleigh show. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates as they emerge.

Elsewhere, Scott formally submitted UTOPIA for Grammy consideration last week. With only a handful of major releases left this year, it’s likely going to be the front-runner for Album of the Year. However, some people have pointed to the irony of the submission. On “Thank God”, Scott raps on the effect that his 2019 Grammy loss had on his mentality. Scott will likely contend with albums like Midnights, SOS, and One Thing At A Time.

Despite the hype of UTOPIA, fans still appear wary of the accompanying tour. Earlier this month, it was revealed that resellers were dropping their prices to as much as a quarter below the original sale price. It’s likely that the memories of Scott’s last tour, the infamous AstroWorld disaster, are likely keeping people away from the tour for a moment.

Here Is Teezo Touchdown’s ‘Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour’ Setlist

“All the kids love Teezo Touchdown,” Uproxx’s Aaron Williams wrote while reviewing the artist’s September major-label debut album, How Do You Sleep At Night? Apparently, Travis Scott also loves Teezo Touchdown, who scored the opportunity to open on Scott’s Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour.

The trek kicked off at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 11. Scott and Teezo will perform back-to-back shows at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday (October 13) and Saturday (October 14) before heading to Teezo’s native Texas for back-to-back nights at American Airlines Center in Dallas on October 17 and 18. Travis Scott Kicks Off UTOPIA – Circus Maximus Tour in Charlotte

Travis Scott launched his highly anticipated UTOPIA – Circus Maximus Tour with a spectacular sold-out show at Charlotte’s Spectrum Arena in North Carolina. Travis Scott fans are familiar with waiting. Nearly five years elapsed between Astroworld and Utopia. It was a roller coaster of teases and will-he-won’t-he before Utopia arrived in July, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. And then, there was somewhat of a false start for the supporting Utopia — Circus Maximus Tour. (Not to mention, the show that never was at Egypt’s Pyramids Of Giza.) The tour was initially announced in early August, but ticket sales were delayed for reasons unknown until the end of the month.

Finally, Scott’s Utopia — Circus Maximus Tour opener was staged on Wednesday night (October 11) at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Teezo Touchdown is serving as the opener. They will stay in North Carolina through the weekend with back-to-back shows at PNC Arena in Raleigh on Friday (October 13) and Saturday (October 14).

Are Tickets For Travis Scott’s ‘Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour’ Still Available?

Travis Scott is set to kick off his Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour tonight (October 11) — with 40 arena dates scheduled in total. For those who hadn’t purchased tickets yet, fans are thankfully still in luck. According to 404 Media (via USA Today), resale tickets for Scott’s Raleigh, North Carolina show were as low as $14 — dropped significantly from their $61.50 Ticketmaster face value.

It’s clear that scalpers are having trouble offloading tickets for Scott’s Circus Maximus Tour. While the tour was originally sold out as of August 31, the rapper announced more dates.

Scott, who is set to play two nights at NYC’s Barclays Center on December 18 and 19, has tickets going for around $50 on Stubhub. The same is currently going for a number of other stops and venues.

Basically, for any fan who was on the fence, now is the time to go get your tickets to Scott’s tour. They are still available for purchase here, along with more information.

For All The Dogs by Drake is the talk of the town right now, but for many hip-hop fans, it lives in the shadow of another 2023 album. Moreover, Travis Scott’s UTOPIA is still one of the most played, acclaimed, and talked-about projects this year, and fans love to debate over which one’s better. Of course, there are very different contexts: we had to wait about a year for one and five for the other. But La Flame clearly wanted- and still wants- to go big with this LP, and just officially submitted it for consideration at the Grammys.

Furthermore, this is actually quite the comical and somewhat back-handed move if you think about it. After all, UTOPIA saw Travis Scott saying that losing at the 2019 Grammys “turned” him “to a beast” on the second song on the tracklist. As such, maybe he wants to prove them wrong, simply try just in case, or maybe make a statement. But the more likely scenario is that the Houston MC is like many other massive artists in the game right now: that Grammy is a big goal to reach.

Regardless of all that, though, Travis Scott doesn’t need a Grammy to validate his success, artistry, or lifestyle. In fact, there’s a clip that fans found of the 32-year-old walking over various tables to make it to where Hov was at the gathering. Many found it pretty funny, especially the reactions of the New York legend’s entourage. Is that what people mean when they talk about overcoming obstacles?

If so, then Trav’s overcome a lot in his life and career, even if public favor isn’t at an all-time high due to his association with the Astroworld Festival tragedy. Still, it seems like he’s doing his part to sort that out in court and continue his path forward. Whether you agree with that or not, it’s unlikely that UTOPIA will be absent from 2023 conversations, be it from fans or the Recording Academy. Fans Are Debating Whether “For All The Dogs” Or “Utopia” Deserves Album Of The Year

Now that Drake’s album For All The Dogs has dropped, fans finally feel as though Travis Scott’s Utopia has a competitor. As the year comes to a close, the music industry has witnessed the release of several highly-anticipated albums that have ignited passionate discussions among fans and critics alike. Two of the biggest names in the rap and hip-hop scene, Drake and Travis Scott, have dropped albums that are the center of intense debate for the coveted title of “Album of the Year.” “Travis Scott made a better album than Drake this year,” one person stated on X. “Drake album is way better than Travis Scott. I skipped so many songs on Travis,” another contrasted.

Drake’s For All The Dogs arrived with a bang, living up to the hype that surrounds any project from the Canadian superstar. Well, mostly. Fans have had mixed reactions to the project, claiming that it’s not the Drake they expected. However, like most Drake projects, it will probably have a huge debut and at least chart on the Billboard Top 200 as all of his previous albums have. On the other side of the AOTY debate stands Travis Scott’s Utopia, an album that has been eagerly anticipated since he hinted at its existence. Known for his boundary-pushing creativity and ability to create immersive sonic experiences, Scott did not disappoint. Utopia was released in July of this year and people were impressed. With 19-tracks worth of listening, critics raved about the production. People have even said that it’s been some of the best rapping that Travis has ever done throughout his career. He also had a layered set of features which gave Utopia depth. From Beyonce to Teezo Touchdown, SZA, and several others, Utopia was an overall solid release.

The debate between For All The Dogs and Utopia is about the distinct approaches they bring to the table. Travis Scott’s “UTOPIA” Becomes The Best Selling Rap Album Of The Year

One of the biggest events in hip-hop this year is officially reflected as the highest-selling rap album of the year. Travis Scott’s Utopia is packed absolutely full of features from some of the biggest artists in not just rap, but music at large. Beyonce, SZA, Drake, Future, Playboi Carti, Young Thug, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, and many more are included. The album made a splash as soon as it debuted hitting the top spot on the Billboard 200 for an entire month. It was only the second rap album to top the chart following Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape.

Now, Travis Scott’s total sales have completely lapped his competition. The highest-selling rap album of 2023 up to now has been a record from 2022. Metro Boomin’s similarly feature-packed Heroes & Villains earned the title helped by the massive success of its single “Creepin’” with The Weeknd and 21 Savage. Now, Utopia has officially passed it, making Scott’s most recent effort the new highest-selling rap album of 2023. That’s no surprise as the album still has three songs in the Hot 100. “I Know ?” turns up at number 35, the Drake collaboration “Meltdown” sits at number 42, and the SZA and Future team up “Telekinesis” sits at number 77.

Travis Scott turned up over the weekend at an absolutely celebrity-packed charity event. Jay-Z and Meek Mill played host to a James Bond-themed casino night to raise money for social justice reform, which they did to the tune of $24 million. Alongside Scott rappers like Lil Baby and Quavo were also in attendance.

A couple of former Migos rappers have teased forthcoming new music with Travis Scott. He was hanging out at a party thrown by Offset where the rapper played new tunes with both Scott and Cardi B. Just last week Quavo also hinted that he could have new music with Scott on the way. He teased fans with a a sequel to their collab album. Are Travis Scott And Live Nation Doing A Tour?

Travis Scott‘s fourth studio album Utopia has proven to be one of the most acclaimed albums of the year. And for the first time in three years, Scott will be returning to the road for a tour in support of the album.

While many fans are excited to see Scott on his upcoming Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour, the idea of a Scott production is giving many people pause, due to the Astroworld disaster of 2021. With the upcoming tour comes several questions.

Are Travis Scott and Live Nation doing a tour?

Live Nation is, in fact, sponsoring the Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour. Live Nation/Ticketmaster is the largest entertainment company in the world, and thus, one of very few event production companies able to handle a fanbase as big as Scott’s.

Still, many fans are worried about the idea of a potential repeat of the Astroworld catastrophe, which resulted in eight deaths and several injuries. Following Scott’s 2021 Astroworld festival in Houston, several attendees and their families filed lawsuits against Live Nation, with one plaintiff notably suing for $1 million in damages.

Live Nation has not indicated what measures they will take in order to avoid an Astroworld repeat, however, Houston is noticeably absent from the Utopia tour stops.

Travis Scott Set To Go Number One Again With Huge “Utopia” Sales Resurgence

In case you haven’t noticed over the last month or so, Travis Scott and his album Utopia have been dominating the charts. For the first four weeks of the album’s existence, Scott found himself at number one. Overall, this was mostly thanks to bundles and how they factored into his sales. He was packaging a digital album with his merch, and he was also selling vinyls for $5. This was a great strategy for him, and it is continuing to pay off as the album cycle hits critical mass.

In the album’s fifth week on the charts, it ended up garnering second place. However, it seems like it will not be playing second fiddle for very long. Instead, the album is going to take the top spot again this week, in its sixth week on the charts. According to DJ Akademiks, the album is going to sell a whopping 160K units, which is truly massive. It is even more impressive given how the album does not have a song in the Top 20 on the Billboard charts. Those bundles are doing their job.

These numbers are especially impressive when you consider how hip-hop has largely struggled on the charts this year. The first album to go number one in rap this year was Lil Uzi Vert’s The Pink Tape. However, it only lasted in that spot for one week. Now, Scott is showcasing that the genre still has a ton of staying power on the charts. That said, a hip-hop song has yet to hit number one this year. Although, it seems like Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are going to change that with “Bongos.”
