Usher, the renowned artist and entertainer, celebrated his 45th birthday in style with Rémy Martin. The star-studded event included special guests like Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Bryan Michael Cox, LA Reid, and many more.
In honor of Usher’s birthday, Rémy Martin presented him with a one-of-a-kind Jacquie Aiche custom Rémy Martin diamond-encrusted toothpick. The toothpick is inspired by Rémy Martin’s centaur symbol, signifying the enduring partnership between Usher and the brand. Throughout the night, Usher was spotted sporting this unique gift.
Guests at the celebration enjoyed a carefully curated selection of Rémy Martin XO and 1738 cocktails. Among the offerings was “The 1738 Halftime Spritz,” a delightful cocktail paying tribute to Usher and his upcoming game day performance. The drink is designed to taste like halftime – the perfect complement to any celebration.
Usher has departed Paris and returned to his Las Vegas residency. Joining Usher at his birthday show was Ashanti, whose birthday was also this weekend. While onstage, Ashanti performed “Foolish,” and the two would sing Happy Birthday to each other. You can see the moment below.
Libra season seems to be a particularly busy time for celebrity birthdays. Stars like Cardi B, Doja Cat, Kim Kardashian, and Amber Rose are all turning another year older in the span of just a few days. Another name on the list of October-born creatives is Usher, who turns 45 today, the 14th. While he’s likely got big plans to turn up with his loved ones all weekend long, we’re commemorating the occasion by revisiting some of the R&B icon’s earliest hits.
Specifically, we’re spotlighting 1997’s “Nice & Slow,” which was produced by Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal. The song’s sensual lyrics find a young Usher crooning about getting intimate with the object of his affection. “Now here we are, driving round town / Contemplating where I’m gonna lay you down,” his voice shines on the second verse. As he sings, the Southern artist gets up close and personal with Kimora Lee Simmons. She played his love interest in the Hype Williams-directed visual.
Take It “Nice & Slow” Today in Celebration of Usher
The fashion mogul is just one of many women who was lucky enough to be serenaded by the “OMG” hitmaker during his Las Vegas Residency. Of course, he got some ladies in trouble with their boyfriends, but overall, Usher’s run in Sin City was successful. As that came to a close last month, it was confirmed that he’ll be entertaining the crowd during 2024’s biggest football game of the year.
Revisit Usher’s decades-old visual for “Nice & Slow” above, and be sure to add the song to your playlist on Spotify/Apple Music if you haven’t already. Are there any songs from the birthday boy’s discography that you hope make it on his Super Bowl setlist? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
Let me take you to a place nice and quiet There ain’t no one there to interrupt, ain’t gotta rush I just wanna take it nice and slow (Now, baby, tell me what you wanna do with me?)

Usher recently enjoyed a playful moment with Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union as he took his residency globally for a stay in France. His current set of dates is as the La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, and the power couple was in attendance.
As Usher reaches the point of his set where he serenades a woman, he approaches Union to sing but then hits a pause. “This is Dwyane Wade, I ain’t crazy! That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it.”

Usher’s return to music has included a whole bunch of storylines. One of the biggest pop culture news stories of 2023 was the drama including Keke Palmer and her ex Darius Jackson. That got messy, but Usher has made it clear he wants no more parts in that. Additionally, he has been talking a lot about his lengthy residency in Las Vegas and he was just picked to perform during one of the grandest sports events. He will be hosting the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but he had more news to share on top of that.
After a five-year album hiatus, he will be making a return with a new album on the day of the big game. His last release came back on October 12, 2018. It was a short collaborative project titled “A” with trap-producing legend, Zaytoven. We still have five months before that all happens, but it is great to see one of the most beloved R&B legends make a ceremonious comeback. He continues to ride this amazing winning streak with a recent performance during his residency in Paris.
According to HipHopDX, it is an eight-day stay and he is making the most of it. Right after performing “Ni**as In Paris” as a witty reference to that iconic Jay-Z and Kanye West track, he brought a Southern legend. “Bad and Boujee” began to play and out came Offset. In the video above from Usher’s Instagram, he is dancing and having a blast with him in front of the rabid fans. The Texas singer captioned the post, “We from the SOUTH yeah THAT WAY @offsetyrn.” Maybe both will work together on a song together?
What are your initial thoughts on Usher bringing out Offset to perform during his Paris residency? Do you think both of these artists will be on each other’s next albums?
