Jeezy “Does Not Feel Safe” Letting Ex Jeannie Mai Walk Around His House

Recently, Jeezy raised concerns amid his split from Jeannie Mai and asked the court to enforce some guidelines for her upcoming visit to his home. In Touch exclusively reports that the former pair went back and forth in court over furniture purchased during their marriage in November. According to legal documents obtained by the outlet, Mai claimed to have property at Jeezy’s house that she needed to pick up. The judge has given her 21 days to pick up the items, which reportedly include trophies, clothes, books, and more.

Jeezy said he was “perfectly fine with [Jeannie] coming to his residence to retrieve her personal property.” He added, however, that he has “legitimate concerns about Jeannie being able to walk through the whole house.” The rapper alleges that in September of 2023, Mai came to the house and downloaded footage from his security system. Reportedly, it showed him locking his doors while holding a gun. He accuses her of using this footage to “justify withholding” their daughter from him.

Jeezy Accuses Jeannie Mai Of Downloading His Security Footage

“[Jeezy] does not feel safe having [Jeannie] in his home. Given [Jeannie’s] history of attempting to destroy [Jeezy’s] career with misleading information, [Jeezy] would have no way of knowing if [Jeannie] is planting listening devices or cameras in his home,” his lawyer wrote. “[Jeannie] is angry about the parties divorce and she is revengeful. In addition, the mere presence of [Jeannie] inside [Jeezy’s] home and personal space, after the highly contested nature of the divorce case, would absolutely destroy [Jeezy’s] peace and tranquility, as well as invade his privacy.”

He’s asking that instead of moving through the house freely, Mai just pick up boxes that he’s packed. “It is particularly cruel given that Ms. Mai uprooted her entire life from Los Angeles to live in their shared home,” her rep responded. “Only to now face unnecessary obstacles in gathering her belongings.”

Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole Return On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and hip-hop still has some gifts to give us on our latest Fire Emoji playlist update, which rounds up the genre’s best releases this week. Leading the way is one more Kendrick Lamar track before his dominant 2024 comes to an end, and it’s another SZA collab on her SOS Deluxe: LANA, “30 For 30.” Unsurprisingly, they share a lot of vocal chemistry and charisma over an easy-going beat that fuses melodic rap flows with a bouncy clap beat. They both sound heavenly on the cut, closing out their year on a sweet, fun-loving, and confident note.

Speaking of “the Big Three,” our Fire Emoji update also highlights J. Cole’s tenth anniversary streaming re-release of 2014 Forest Hills Drive. It includes eight new bonus cuts that are really resonating with fans during this celebratory time, especially the hard-hitting and gritty “Die Together.” It features the North Carolina MC’s trademark vivid picture-painting, casual but solid rhyme schemes, and impassioned delivery. In other words, these tracks show everything that made 2014 Forest Hills Drive such an enduring and beloved record.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist

For those looking for some more relatively underground gems on Fire Emoji, we’re happy to say that one of 2024’s most prolific runs had one more chapter to cover. Following three other collaborative LPs with other producers, Boldy James dropped off the Hidden In Plain Sight EP with beat wizard whothehelliscarlo, and it’s a succinct but fittingly grimy unwinder. However, the title track, which features Conway The Machine and Styles P, is a good example of how the dusty and street-based vibe of the project can also mix beautifully with more soulful sounds.

As for new singles this week, we’d be remiss not to mention Gunna’s new single “GOT DAMN” and its chilled, calming, and dreamy synth atmosphere. While the trap drums are simple and not much happens here melodically, Wunna’s voice fills in the empty space for the most part. Finally on Fire Emoji, we wanted to shout out the new Tee Grizzley remix of “Diana,” which features Flo Milli. The drill swing courtesy of BNYX and the more auto-tuned delivery are a welcome change of pace for the Detroit spitter, whereas the Alabama femcee skates on the beat in breathy but engaging fashion.

Mario Brings The 2000s Back On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update

Every year, while everyone’s cooking up their best music of the year lists (which we’re coming soon with!) in November and December, the music industry seems to slow down a little bit. While there aren’t that many massive releases to talk about most of the time, we have to give our thankful props to the artists that hold it down while everyone’s busy during the holidays. Moreover, our latest R&B Season playlist update is here to round up the best of the best that the genre had to offer this week as far as new releases. It’s pretty scant, but then again, it’s never a bad time for your favorite artists to drop.

First off, we wanted to shout out Mario for taking it all the way back to 2000s R&B with his new album, Glad You Came. He dropped off a couple of hot singles for it before, and we’re happy to say that new cuts like “Keep Going (Aaaaahhhhh)” live up to that hype. That cut in particular is a slow burner, so we’d highly recommend it if you want a sultry, passionate, and relaxing teaser.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist

Speaking of sensual and slow-riding R&B jams, we also wanted to highlight the new single from Ne-Yo, “Show Me.” This one isn’t quite as woozy, as it focuses melodically on some muted string work as opposed to more dreamy or psychedelic synths that the genre so often benefits from these days. It’s as lustful as any classic hit from the Arkansas native, with his trademark falsetto stacking up very nicely against some airy vocal harmonies. In addition, there’s also some slight variation in the vocal tones and delivery that switch things up for some more verse structure.

We’re sure we missed some other notable R&B drops this week, but maybe you’re looking for some more exciting or energetic fare. Our Fire Emoji playlist update this week took a stroll through hip-hop’s latest releases, the leader of which was easily Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s new comeback collab album, Missionary. It’s full of vibrant and funky instrumentation, so even if rap isn’t your thing, it’s worth a spin.

OG Maco Fans Receive A Promising Update From His Manager Amid Alleged Suicide Attempt

OG Maco fans expressed concern, confusion, and since-retracted condolences for his condition after he allegedly survived a suicide attempt this week. Moreover, authorities found him unresponsive in his home in California after a neighbor head a firearm go off, although we don’t have many more details to go off of. First and foremost, we wish Maco the best during this difficult time and hope that he recovers in a speedy fashion. It seems like this might be the case, as his longtime manager and friend Poppa Perc relayed a hopeful update on his condition to Instagram on Saturday (December 14).

“We all wanna thank you for praying for @ogxmaco,” OG Maco’s manager Poppa Perc shared on the social media platform. “He’s still fighting and he’s in a more stable condition and it’s better than what he was 2 nights ago. We won’t know [too] much untill Monday for now please keep praying.” The “Let It Be” artist himself hasn’t really given fans much of a direct update or statement on the situation, but they are focused on support and solidarity rather than having all the answers as soon as possible.

OG Maco’s Manager Provides An Update

However, fans also faced a lot of confusion during this time, as some outlets reported that OG Maco passed away. His manager quickly dispelled these rumors, as he spoke to AllHipHop to confirm Maco’s well-being along with some other social media posts blasting these publications. “Say Cheese is capping right now,” Poppa Perc relayed on Instagram. “Maco is still in ICU.” “He’s still on life support, still fighting,” he told AllHipHop on Friday (December 13). “They are doing multiple tests on his brain and trying to let the swelling go down a bit, let his head heal a little bit, so they can do a procedure. Only immediate family is allowed at the hospital, but we’ve been getting updates.”

Meanwhile, fans of the “Devotion” rapper continue to make their support crystal clear on social media. OG Maco’s situation still left many of them with questions, but during such a sensitive and arduous time, they are ready to wait as long as they need to.

Sade Adu Makes Her Grand Return On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update

Even though the end of the year doesn’t yield much new music, our latest R&B Season playlist update is here to round up the best of the best recent drops within or adjacent to the genre. In fact, we have a massive one to talk about this week, as Sade Adu dropped her first official release in about six years, “Young Lion.” It’s for the TRANSA compilation from the non-profit organization Red Hot, which featured many transgender artists and focuses on the community. Moreover, this song is dedicated to the singer’s transgender son, and it’s a gorgeously atmospheric and calming cut.

Elsewhere in the R&B world, we also wanted to shout out Roy Woods for his brief but still captivating new project, Rolling Stone. It has a sole feature from 03 Greedo, so the vocalist carries his own weight for much of the tracklist and indulges in the genre fusions he’s well-known for. For example, one of the highlights on here is “Solo” thanks to its passionate and overwhelming vocal performance and how it contrasts with the airy instrumentation and steady drums.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist

Also, we’d be remiss not to mention the new deluxe version of Khalid’s Sincere, which adds a couple more collaborative cuts and solo records to the original tracklist. These include “Personal” with Normani, “Make It Up To You” with Ayra Starr, and “MIA” featuring Chlöe. That last one in particular is one of the bouncier songs on the whole LP, and the crisp percussion adds a pretty fun vibe to a tune that would otherwise sound more melancholy. Not only that, but it certainly helps that they’re both very talented singers with plenty of chemistry on this particular cut.

But the end of 2024 isn’t just giving us some new R&B cuts to enjoy. Our latest Fire Emoji playlist update also rounded up the highlights of the week within the hip-hop world, including the new single from Lil Baby, “Touchdown.” He just announced his new album Wham for January 3 of next year, and this more menacing and hard-hitting track indicates some bangers on the way. Hopefully he delivers!

Lil Baby Scores A “Touchdown” On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

The year is not over yet, and our latest Fire Emoji playlist update is here to round up the best of the best rap releases in December’s first week. Kicking off our path towards the end zone is the latest single from Lil Baby, titled “Touchdown.” It’s a pretty nasty Wheezy beat with rattling trap percussion, dramatic orchestral samples, and the same lackadaisical flow that the Atlanta rapper has perfected over the years. Compared to his more mellow and expressive far, this is a pretty menacing display that might point towards his presumed upcoming album’s direction. It’s not the most new thing in the world, but it does a solid job of locking you into its verses.

Next up on Fire Emoji is the new album from NBA YoungBoy, I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders. With an artist as prolific and lane-sticking as YB, any deviation is that much more potent. If you’re used to the Baton Rouge lyricist’s more aggressive fare, then cuts on this new project like “Stealing Out The Trap” may surprise you. The light guitars and drums don’t do the best job of making his vocal delivery any less grading, but it’s an interesting contrast that shows off his dynamism.

Elsewhere on Fire Emoji is a remix of one of the most viral 2024 hits: Hanumankind and Kalmi’s speedy “Big Dawgs,” which now features an opening verse from A$AP Rocky. The Harlem MC does a great job of matching this full-throttle banger with some boisterous bars and masterful flow control. On the opposite side of the spectrum is Roddy Ricch and Terrace Martin’s gorgeous new collab “Lonely Road.” This cut is a much more somber and reflective one, with saxophones emphasizing the passionate vocal performance from the Compton spitter.

Speaking of collabs – and remixes – Lil Tjay and Polo G teamed up for “Way Out The Hood II,” on which the Chicago artist adds a verse to the Bronx native’s original. The track was already a solid and relaxing record to begin with, and Polo adds a lot of perspective to it. Finally on Fire Emoji, we can’t leave without shouting out Skepta and Lex Luger’s “Alpha Omega” for its fiery and brash tone. It’s one of the most confident cuts you’ll hear this week.

4batz Wants A “Hood Grammy” On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update

Since the year is dying down and the music industry is going on a bit of a recess, it’s a bit light on our end for our latest R&B Season playlist update, which rounds up the best of the best genre-adjacent releases each – or close to this – week. But we still have a couple of great tracks to talk about that dropped recently, including the return of one of 2024’s breakout stars. 4batz recently came through with the new single “hood grammy.” It’s about as atmospheric and chilled-out as his other material (and with a similar flow), but the sharp snare and the more buzzing tones amp up the impact a little bit.

In addition, we wanted to shout out the new Miguel cut, “Always Time,” on our R&B Season playlist update. It’s a gorgeous guitar-led ballad that evolves little by little into a more dramatic, orchestral, and passionate outro by the end. The road there is also very captivating thanks to very striking and unique vocal harmonies, some subtle but welcome picking pattern and chord changes, and plenty of atmosphere. No matter how you slice it, it’s an incredibly gratifying record by the time it ends.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist

While our R&B Season playlist update is scant this week, we certainly got more than we expected last week, so we won’t complain. Kendrick Lamar shocked the world by releasing his new surprise album GNX after a ridiculous championship year. While most of the project focuses on West Coast hyphy bangers and compelling lyrical exercises, it also contains some of K.Dot’s most impressive and incredible melodic cuts across his whole discography. “luther” featuring SZA is an absolute treat, and its catchiness will truly take you over on impact.

In addition, we got some more new hip-hop this week on our Fire Emoji playlist update, including the final posthumous Juice WRLD album, a re-release of one of J. Cole’s classic mixtapes, and another single from Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s upcoming Missionary album. There have been a lot of amazing releases in 2024, but while things seem to be slowing down right now, this all excites us a lot for next year.

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Get Glitzy On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Even though the year is starting to die down, we still have plenty of new music to take us through 2024’s end on our latest Fire Emoji playlist update, which rounds up the best of the best new hip-hop releases of the week. Starting us off is the new single from Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s upcoming album, Missionary. It’s the track “Another Part Of Me” featuring Sting, and it samples “Message In A Bottle” by the singer’s band, The Police. Despite the odd choice, it works out relatively well thanks to more sharp percussion, some backing vocals, and a dash of charisma.

Next up on Fire Emoji are two unconventional but nonetheless impactful and massive blockbuster albums this week. Juice WRLD’s latest posthumous album and his final project, the long-awaited The Party Never Ends, finally came out this Friday, and while it’s certainly divisive, cuts like “Celebrate” with Offset seem to have resonated. In addition, J. Cole released his classic mixtape Friday Night Lights on streaming services for the first time. It came out 14 years ago, but cuts like “Before I’m Gone” still hit hard.

Speaking of albums, Fire Emoji also highlighted the new Kodak Black album Trill Bill. Sonically and mic-wise, it’s pretty much exactly what you expect from the Florida native, but if you’re interested in one of the most successful and engaging examples of these retreads, look no further than the song “News Matt.” As far as other new songs this week, Benny The Butcher and 38 Spesh followed up their collab album earlier in 2024 with the grimy and raw boom-bap cut, “SS2 Freestyle.”

Finally, we wanted to shout out The LOX for the surprising, glossy, and classic East Coast-evoking single, “Isley Money.” It’s about as confident, gritty, and focused as you would expect from this iconic hip-hop collective, and it’s a treat to hear them find inspiration and skill within this instrumental. Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Young Thug’s Sister Provides Exciting Update On Rapper’s New Music

Last month, Young Thug was released from prison after spending over two years behind bars. The rapper was subject to a lengthy and chaotic RICO trial and eventually accepted a plea deal. Per the deal, he must abide by various release conditions, including not communicating with any alleged gang members or YSL affiliates except his brother and Gunna. This certainly doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have anything exciting on the way, however.

Earlier today, the rapper’s sister Dora Williams took to X to provide his supporters with an update on what he’s been working on. According to her, he’s taking some time to recover mentally from his legal battle and other personal struggles before releasing anything. Despite this, she says he’s hard at work on new material. “My brother is going cr*zy with the new music,” she began. “I promise y’all won’t be disappointed. Just give him time to heal mentally. Rmr he lost 4 ppl in 2022 and went to jail, fought a case for 2yrs. In the mix of fighting for his life we lost our sister in 2023. He’s coming.”

Young Thug’s Sister Dora Says He’s “Going Crazy With The New Music”

Of course, this is exciting news for fans, who have been waiting patiently to see what he does next. Lately, he’s been spotted reconnecting with old friends and collaborators. Earlier this month, for example, he hit the studio with Travis Scott, Lil Baby, and Future. Before that, he shared a tweet that suggested a new Lil Baby collab was on the way. “Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter,” he wrote.

Supporters are looking forward to hearing what they’ve cooked up, and expect it to be good. DJ Akademiks even recently claimed that it better be, or else Young Thug risks fans ditching him in favor of Gunna. “If you think you about to cook up some mid and think we finna cancel Gunna, who is cooking up pure crack cocaine? It’s not gonna happen,” the internet personality said.

Kendrick Lamar & SZA Make Magic On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

Welcome back to our R&B Season playlist, the latest update for which has some of the very best genre-adjacent releases that came out this week. We have a big release to talk about that you’ve probably already bumped, and that’s obviously the new Kendrick Lamar album, GNX. While it’s mostly pretty fiery songs and performances, there are some softer cuts on here that are also excellent, two of which feature SZA. “luther” in particular is a very tender, woozy, and calming jam with a wonderful sample flip, gorgeous progressions, and some awesome interplay between both vocalists that we loved to hear back from after so long.

Next up is the new single from Savannah Ré, “Sex With My Ex.” As you can probably tell from the title, it’s a pretty conflicted push-and-pull lyrically, and one whose soft piano keys and often intruding sample kind of reflect that sense of complication. The vocal performance is pretty smoky, but it definitely has its more impressive runs that emphasize Ré’s melodies. Overall, it’s a pretty dark and sensual cut that might’ve benefitted from more involved percussion, but their stark sound as it is works just fine, too.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Update

Finally, we wanted to give a shoutout to the Unlocked edition of the British R&B group FLO’s latest album, Access All Areas. They have some interesting remixes, guest performances, and re-imaginings that weren’t there on the original effort, including some fitting and charismatic performances from the Bailey sisters, Chlöe and Halle, on a new version of “Soft.” It’s exactly what it sounds like, as light snaps, simple synth pads, and tight vocal harmonies give a lot of boisterous flair to an otherwise pleasant soundscape.

However, if you’re looking for something more lyrically involved and hard-hitting, make sure to stay up to date on all the latest hip-hop releases. To check out new cuts from Cordae’s latest album The Crossroads and more hot singles like Ray Vaughn and Isaiah Rashad’s new collab, check out our Fire Emoji playlist update from last week in the “Read More” section down below.
