Tyler The Creator Goes On A Solo(?) Date In His ‘Wharf Talk’ Video With ASAP Rocky

On Tyler The Creator’s deluxe edition of Call Me If You Get Lost, subtitled The Estate Sale, the former demon child enters what Pitchfork is calling his “Munch era,” embracing the freedom and sincerity of falling in love on previously unreleased tracks like “Dogtooth” and “Sorry Not Sorry.” Honestly, it’s a good look on him, cementing his evolution from a talented but obnoxious enfant terrible to a dapper, forthright artiste.

His latest video from the release, “Wharf Talk,” keeps the good vibes flowing. On this one, Tyler’s in full loverboy mode, singing plaintively about how much he wants to spend time with this special lady over what sounds very much like some classic Neptunes production. When Tyler’s good friend ASAP Rocky shows up for a good, old-fashioned rap bridge — man, remember those? — he too sounds transformed by the affections of a good woman. It’s genuinely endearing and inspirational to see our boys really grow up. They’ve come a long way.

The video’s pretty clever, too, messing with the viewer’s perception as Tyler goes on a series of what appear to be solo dates: a picnic in the park, a day trip to the beach, and more. However, a bike ride through nature throws off this reading when one of the bikes propels itself — is Tyler dating The Invisible Woman, or what? (There’s some nifty commentary about how this makes his “keeping it low-key” approach to his relationship visual, but it’s also just fun to see him toasting what appears to be nobody.)

You can watch the “Wharf Talk” video above and check out Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale here.

Model and actress Zendaya was linked to Tyler in the past. In 2015, it was rumored that Tyler and Zendaya were dating after he posted an Instagram selfie with her. Even though the photo looked harmless, fans worried that their relationship might be more intimate than it seemed. Still, neither Tyler nor Zendaya has said they ever dated. Then, in 2017, Tyler was allegedly linked to actress Steffanie Christi’an. The pair sparked dating rumors when they were seen together publicly, but Tyler never confirmed their relationship. The following year, it was also reported that the rapper was involved with a woman named Gio Rai. However, no pictures or videos were ever released of the alleged couple. Nevertheless, people speculated they were keeping their relationship out of the public eye.

Tyler Gives Insight Into His Sexuality

Tyler has done the best job of keeping his dating history a secret. Tyler has never been seen with a specific person in public, but there have been rumors that he isn’t straight. Moreover, fans have used his lyrics as proof. For instance, he raps in his critically acclaimed album Flower Boy‘s song “I Ain’t Got Time” that he has been “kissing white boys since 2004.” In a 2015 interview, Tyler also said, “[I] had a boyfriend when I was 15 in f—–g Hawthorne [California], n—a. If that’s not open-minded, I don’t know what the f–k that is.” However, Tyler stated elsewhere that he was aware of questions regarding his sexuality and preferred to keep things vague.

Jaden Smith Speculation

In 2017, Jaden Smith did a show at Tyler’s Camp Flog Gnaw in California. When he was on stage, he told the crowd that Tyler, the Creator was his boyfriend. This made people wonder if the pair were actually in a committed relationship. Smith said: “I wanna tell you… Tyler doesn’t want to say, but Tyler’s my motherf–king boyfriend, and he’s been my motherf–king boyfriend my whole f–king life!” He also stated, “It’s true! Tyler, the Creator is my f–king boyfriend. If you take anything away from this f–king show, that’s what you take away!”

Soon after the show, Jaden tweeted, “Yup @tylerthecreator I Told Everyone You Can’t Deny It Now.” Tyler replied: “Hahaha you a crazy n—a man.” Many people on Twitter praised their relationship, while others thought it was just a marketing ploy or a joke between them. Also, Smith called Tyler, the Creator his boyfriend again when the Igor star won a Grammy in 2020. Since then, neither Jaden nor Tyler has said anything that suggests they are dating.

Is Tyler The Creator Dating Anyone?

Tyler hasn’t been linked with anyone for some time, leading fans to believe he is currently single. The rapper hasn’t openly discussed his relationship status, but he does appear to be living his best life, touring the world and creating music. While Tyler keeps his personal affairs close to his heart, he might have given us a clue about his love life in his album Igor. In the lyrics for the track “I Think,” Tyler raps about a potential love interest: “I ain’t tryna date, if that is what you’re thinkin’ babe / It’s just, I think I like you, girl, and I do not know why.”

Despite speculation that the rapper is currently with someone, the mystery remains. He has never been vocal about his relationships and keeps his love life out of the spotlight. He’s keen to stay single for now, focusing on his music and career instead. But there’s still a chance that Tyler, the Creator is in a committed relationship – only time will tell! As a talented artist and musician who has made a name for himself in the music business, it’s understandable that people are interested in what goes on behind the scenes. He has chosen to keep his private life separate from his public persona; overall, it’s been respected.

Pharrell Recalled Tyler The Creator’s Grammy Loss For ‘Flower Boy’: ‘It Expedited His Growth’

Losing out on one of the biggest awards in your field can be a disappointing, humbling experience. But for the right person, it can be the motivation that inspires them to perfect their craft, becoming even more proficient and overcoming the faults that held them back in the first place.

According to Pharrell Williams, that’s what happened to Tyler The Creator when he came up short of the Best Rap Album award at the 2018 Grammy Awards. His 2017 album Flower Boy was lightyears away from his prior work and took inspiration from the work of Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, and Max Martin, maturing Tyler’s sound and expanding listeners’ understanding of the rap rebel’s musicianship and worldview.

But that wasn’t enough to impress Grammy voters… not yet. The first episode of Hulu’s newly released docuseries RapCaviar Presents, based on Spotify’s RapCaviar playlists, focuses on Tyler The Creator and finds Pharrell (one of Tyler’s greatest mentors) sharing his thoughts on Tyler’s growth — which he says was prompted in part by that 2018 Grammys loss.

In fact, he says at the 29-minute mark of the episode, the loss was “one of the greatest things that ever happened to [Tyler], ’cause it motivated him in a different kind of way. Doing that to him just expedited his growth. He realized he needed to go harder — and he did.” The result was, of course, the 2019 album Igor, which totally revamped Tyler’s approach.

That album won the Best Rap Album Grammy in 2020… but it also prompted Tyler to directly confront how an album of mostly singing still got classified as a rap album, calling the win a “backhanded compliment.” That didn’t stop Pharrell from sharing his heartfelt congrats at the time

RapCaviar Presents is now streaming on Hulu.

Tyler, The Creator Details Most “Awesome” Parts Of His Rapper Lifestyle

Things have been relatively quiet on Tyler, The Creator’s front so far this year, though he made waves in a major way earlier this week with his “DOGTOOTH” single. Along with that must-hear track, the California native announced that more will be coming this Friday (March 31) on THE ESTATE SALE edition of his 2021 project, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. Aside from the exciting new music, fans also get to see their favourite artist on today’s episode of RapCaviar Presents on Hulu.

In a clip reposted by HipHopDX on Twitter, the OFWGKTA leader reflects on his favourite parts of his highly coveted job. “We’re good with words. We’re good with rhythm. We know pockets. We hear a collection of sounds and one thing and say, ‘Ahh, I know what could go over this,’ that takes a skill,” Tyler explained of the unique talents he and his contemporaries have. He also shared that being able to understand different “narratives” and express what you’re feeling verbally is an incredible feeling to have as a creative.

Tyler, The Creator on RapCaviar Presents

For the 32-year-old, it sounds as though another bonus of rap superstardom is the ability to explore different creative avenues. “You could be multiple choice,” he told viewers. “You could be into this and you could be into this, and you could be into that. It’s ABC. I’m a rapper. I’m also a producer. I’m also a fucking hot dog.” Tyler then addressed the fact that young teenagers with aspirations of working in the industry have such a limited scope of how much creative freedom truly exists for them.

“You got some young kid like 13 thinking, ‘Oh I got to make bravado rap, [or] damn I gotta talk about what you think you would have to talk about in a rap song,’ [but] no, you don’t,” he went on to say. “When I’m flexing on these songs, it’s just about the shit that I really like.” Will you be tuning into Tyler, The Creator’s full episode of RapCaviar Presents on Hulu? Tyler The Creator’s Brutally Honest ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ Video Buries His Old Personas

In typical Tyler The Creator fashion, the musician has a lot to get off of his chest, and his latest single, “Sorry Not Sorry,” is the perfect outlet. Although the “Dogtooth” rapper doesn’t have any children of his own (just yet), the creative liberties he’s taken in his music as birthed a movement currently inspiring others.

That limitless ideal shines bright in the self-directed visual for “Sorry Not Sorry,” the second track released off his forthcoming Call Me If You Get Lost deluxe album. In the retrospective video, Tyler lets his apologies fly, rapping, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry I don’t see you more / I’m sorry that the four minutes where you see your son could feel like a chore / Sis’, I’m sorry I’m your kin / Sorry we ain’t close as we should’ve been / Sorry to my old friends / The stories we could’a wrote if our egos didn’t take the pen.”

However, the one thing he isn’t sorry for is allowing his music to change with him as he’s navigated through these emotional landmines. In the video, Tyler steps back into each of his old personas respective to each project he’s released, to paint just how much internal conflict he’s dealt with.

By the end of the visual, the musician makes it clear that although the track will be featured on the deluxe version of his Grammy Award-winning album, fans shouldn’t get comfortable with this sound. Tyler is planning to transition to another era of his art very soon as he is now yet another version of himself.

When discussing the deluxe album on Twitter, the recording artist wrote, “Call Me If You Get Lost was the first album I made with a lot of songs that didn’t make the final cut. Some of those songs I really love, and knew they would never see the light of day, so Ive decided to put a few of them out.”

Tyler, The Creator Unveils New Single “Sorry Not Sorry”

Tyler, The Creator remains unapologetic as ever on his latest offering. The rapper announced Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale with the release of “Dogtooth.” Now, the Odd Future star is back with a second single from the project titled, “Sorry Not Sorry.” Once again, the California artist delivers a set of visuals that capture the song’s essence, as well as his evolution since Bastard. Tyler The Creator puts together this luscious combination of warm guitar progressions and soulful background vocals with an orchestral touch. The production serves as an excellent soundscape for his confessional of sorts. He addresses the changes in his personal and professional life.

Throughout the record, Tyler details how he’s come to terms with how relationships have shifted since his fame. While he continues to evolve, he also addresses fans who jumped off the bandwagon since his commercial success post-Wolf. “Sorry to the fans who say I changed,” Tyler The Creator gently raps before contorting his vocals with a menacing growl. He continues, “‘Cause I did/ You don’t know me on a personal level to pinpoint what it is.” His range is the cornerstone of the duality he explores as if his conscious and subconscious are tearing him apart.

Tyler, The Creator Releasing B-Sides On Friday

The rapper hasn’t shared the tracklist for Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale yet. However, we’re hoping that a few unreleased collaborations might appear in the album. Tyler The Creator joined forces with the likes of NBA Youngboy, Lil Uzi Vert 42 Dugg, and Teezo Touchdown. Additionally, Tyler linked up with Lil Wayne, Domo Genesis, Brent Faiyaz, Daisy World, and more.

Tyler The Creator previously explained that Call Me If You Get Lost became the first album he ever recorded that included an abundance of unreleased music. “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST WAS THE FIRST ALBUM I MADE WITH ALOT OF SONGS THAT DIDNT MAKE THE FINAL CUT. SOME OF THOSE SONGS I REALLY LOVE, AND KNEW THEY WOULD NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY, SO IVE DECIDED TO PUT A FEW OF THEM OUT,” Tyler The Creator said on Twitter. Let me see you make a decision I made
And claim that I don’t know about minimum wage or Section 8, water in the ketchup bottle to stretch when n***as ate
Gettin’ pressed by n***as hoppin’ gates
