Gunna Shares BTS Footage From Tyla’s “Jump” Music Video, Rapper Clowned For How He Walks

Both Gunna and Tyla have had big years in 2024. Each artist has come through with a new album in the first five months. The former delivered One of Wun earlier this month, with a heavy focus on his new mindset and personal growth. As for the latter, the Afro-pop act gave her growing Tygers (her fans) fan base a full dosage of what she can do on an LP with her self-titled debut. One song from the album that listeners have taken a liking to is the Gunna and Skillibeng collaboration, “Jump.”

The song has climbed up the ranks quickly, as it is currently Tyla’s second-most streamed record at 67.3 million plays. It is outpacing others such as “Truth or Dare,” “ART,” and “No.1” with Tems. Just yesterday, the track got some extra pampering with its music video. It was shot in Tyla’s hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa and while they were down there, they were seen out together in a video reshared by The Neighborhood Talk, which angered some fans.

Gunna & Tyla BTS For “Jump” Music Video

The reason for them being so upset was because she was partying after canceling her tour due to health issues. Some of her Tygers were claiming that they still had not received refunds as well. Now, more footage of the rapper and singer is out, in what appears to be BTS for the “Jump” video. Fans are not angry this time around, but they are roasting the heck out of Gunna. In the clip, his walking motion seems a bit stiff and awkward, and trolls on X were quick to point that out. One person says, “N**** walking like he slipped a disk in his back.” Another joins the comedy show, adding, “He walks like he’s going uphill at all time[s] 😭

What are your thoughts on Gunna sharing some BTS of the “Jump” music video while walking with Tyla? Can you see these two artists dating in the near future, why or why not? Is this one your favorite songs from the Afro-pop singer’s debut self-titled album? Would you want to see them work together again? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Gunna and Tyla. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Tyla Stops Traffic To Start A Twerk Party In Her ‘Jump’ Video With Gunna And Skillibeng

Tyla won her first Grammy before releasing an album, but once her self-titled debut studio album arrived in March, Tyla proved more than worthy of any award. Uproxx’s Wongo Okon reviewed the album and called it “a declaration of the singer’s pop stardom.” The newly released video for “Jump,” a standout Tyla track with Gunna and Skillibeng, reinforces that observation.

Directed by Nabil, the video finds Tyla putting her love for Johannesburg, South Africa on display while recognizing that she has grown into a worldwide figure. “They never had a pretty girl from Joburg,” Tyla sings while Gunna drives her down the street, followed by Tyla dancing on a pool table. “See me now, and that’s what they prefer / I don’t touch no wheel ’cause I got a chauffeur / First class how I get ’round the world.”

Tyla is the center of attention throughout the video, and she can’t be bothered by two men who come crashing through her window to brawl. Eventually, Gunna serenades Tyla in the club, and Skillibeng cooly delivers his verse while Tyla literally halts traffic in order to start a twerk party in the street.

The “Jump” video follows Tyla’s videos for “Truth Or Dare” and “Water (Remix)” with Travis Scott. Tyla debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Tyla Drops Video for “Jump” Featuring Gunna and Skillibeng

Tyla’s meteoric rise continues with the release of the music video for “Jump,” a fan-favorite collaboration featuring Gunna and Skillibeng from her debut album. Directed by NABIL, the visually striking video showcases the trio traversing the vibrant streets of Johannesburg, South Africa, Tyla’s proud hometown. Skillibeng, hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, contributes a never-before-heard verse, adding to the song’s dynamic appeal.

The release of the “Jump” video comes as the track experiences a significant spike in chart performance. Produced by Sammy Soso, the record has amassed 75 million streams worldwide. It currently holds the #1 spot on the UK Afro Beat chart and has peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Afrobeat Chart. Tyla’s hit “Water” continues to dominate the #1 position, while “Truth Or Dare” and “Art” secure the #5 and #6 spots, respectively. Her collaboration with Tems, “No. 1,” rounds out the Top 10 at #8.

Gunna And Tyla Spotted Partying In Johannesburg

Tyla had a massive breakout in 2023. Her song “Water” dropped over the summer and slowly crept all the way up the charts. The song peaked inside the top 10 of the Hot 100 at number 7 while also hitting number one on the Hot R&B Charts. She capitalized on that success earlier this year with a self-titled debut album. The album featured appearances from Skillibeng, Travis Scott, Tems, Becky G, and more. The song “Jump” also featured an appearance from Gunna, who she’s been spending some time with recently.

Gunna had a pretty big 2023 in his own right. He dropped his new album a gift & a curse which soared to number 3 on the Billboard 200. It spawned the track “fukumean” which became one of the biggest rap hits of 2023 and one of the biggest hits of the year period. Now the two musical superstars of last year are spending some time together. Cameras caught the pair partying together in Johannesburg earlier this week. While the potential for a power couple has fans bubbling, others are upset with Tyla for going out after canceling her tour for health reasons. Check out some of the fan concerns expressed below.

Tyla And Gunna Hanging Out Together

In the comments, some fans are coming for Tyla. “So She cancelled her tour because of “health issues” but she can party with a world renowned rat? And I still ain’t get my refund” one of the top comments on the post reads. “She’s corny tho” another fan criticism reads. Gunna is gearing up to release yet another new album called One Of Wun. He’s promised big things for the project, guaranteeing that it will hit number one, something he hasn’t done since 2022’s DS4EVER.
